only x30 TTS Voices works, not x20, 910, Vocalizer, since 8203 rev 1.2, 8204 rev1.3 works it also
no x40light, onettssdk Emu. available;
x40 Emu. very loud Sound already at 10%, 0% Brightness is total dark, other Emus. are not affected from this strange Behavior;
in ori, xls Emu. Routecalculating freeze by me
sucks the x10 Battery empty like crazy, with the x10,x20,x30 Variant seems to works ok
and some more...
ONE´s: Postcode/zip works not with Keyboard set to ABCDE
delete Favorite works only with switchfile BTON
Original for Device: x40

Are they TomTom's own speed cams? If so, they are not classed as points of interest so you don't see them on the map.

if you just read what i said you will understand what i mean
i am using Tomtom Databas speed camera's
So they are not POI But they are At TOMTOM Services
So if we use TOMTM services and after SPEED CAMERAs we will see them in report Safety camera's

Hi,
New 8.203 navecore works fine for me, as 8.201 was but with very minimal testing.

Tomtom GO 720T
Bootloader: 5.5022
Set in x40 emulation
System and map is on 4 GB SDHC, internal memory is empty.

Map: Western and Central Europe v810.1907 Full

Original x20 (and latest) TTS voices used. (Don't work with older (6.5.3) and x30 voices)
TTUser x30 ASR used.
I don't use Outsourced.bin

TTS, TMC/RDS, GPS, Bluetooth seem to work fine.
I don't use Bluetooth because I own no compatible cellphone but Bluetooth scan finds phones in the neighborhood.
No IQ Routes v2 related things found? (stays the same as normal IQ Routes).
No freeze at the moment.

Just a problem: TTS doesn't work in dialogue for the street name, only this, and only for my hometown: Paris, France. I tried several big cities and no problem. I also deleted "MapSettings.cfg" file in the map directory... No clue.
I must enter street by tapping the microphone button twice on the keyboard
Maybe a map related problem?

Also should the 5.5106 bootloader be safely used?

Thanks, cheers.

X40 8.203 with 5,5106 works really good on the x20. Good clear bright screen and lots of new icons. Wireless features don`t work. ie when you press icon it goes back to main screen. Same for mobile phone icon. Navigation side of it works good but only with original map. TMC works with colour codes. Cannot get 810 map to work with it. Voice recog works too.
Can`t get the virtual go to allow me to connect to buddies. It asks me for username and password then tells me the content was bought for another device and cannot be used with this device.....very clever!!!

Thanks TTuser.

Works fine on my One XL. It doesn't have many inprovements compare to 8.201, and stil no 'IQ 2'. But it's always nice the have the newest version working on your system.

It seems there is no option to show or not the name of the next road. AFAIK, it has been moved from the bottom to the upper left of the screen. Actually mine shows the next road there.

anybody try this navcore on TT 710 and working ?
If you read Page 1...TTuser specifies he himself has Go710 so YES is easy answer.
Removed Switches I don't use, tried all the usual stuff...
...TTS (comp.voice) & ASR (voice command) are PERFECT!,
..BT, Phone, etc..
..v.fast Signal lock, Route calc negligable...
@10%, Voice v.loud - check Link to Noise in Volume prefs is unchecked (Volume @ proper 10% again )
This is way better than 8201 ( TomTom beta version, I believe ), well worth the wait for proper NC release.

No problem with Boot 5.5106 either.....

This navcore is working quite ok on my 720. Except for the lightsensor all thing seems to work. I did not test hd traffic yet.

One problem is remaining. How to get mapshare working with TT Home. It says 'no maps' (countries) for mapshare settings. I downloaded the dll and searched on this forum but solutions didn't work for me.

What is the meaning of the emulation for example x940?

I have a strange problem, this is the first time that a new navcore dosen't work on my tomtom ONE V2. in this case i put the new "navcore_SE_8.203.9717_basicpack" + "Se_ttsystem.8203.9717" on the SD root, and... the tomtom still remain locked on the double hands initial screen...

How is possible? I maked all the necessary step I think...

its on the SD Root? Do you have a file on the internal named TTSYSTEM? That is what happens if you have a "bootable" file system in both the internal and SD memory locations.

rename the TTSYSTEM on the INTERNAL memory to xxTTSYSTEM, then try to reboot.

IMPORTANT WARNING for TomTom users that have a perfect Bootloader 5.5022!!!

I found that 5.5105 Bootloader, randomly, it causes many File System errors!!!
Have you delve into this doubt with new 5.5106 Bootloader????....
You can note this problem:
a) only if GO hangs or
b) if you makes a Scandisk ALL (in Winzozz) or Disk Utility with "Repair or Verify Disk" (in Mac OS X).

If also the new 5.5106 Bootloader have the same bug of 5.5105, TomTom can freeze at startup (during boot TomTom always writes some files...) or unexpected TomTom hangs during navigation (ex: changing the night-day display or some preferences, etc...)

Important: My GO 720 with NC 8.051 & BL 5.5022 never creates errors!
The GO 720 of my sister, with NC 8.051 & BL 5.5105 yes.

To verify:
You can force the Go with BL 5.5105 (or with 5.5106) to make errors, copying many POI (100 ca.) into the Device and/or into the SD/SDHC card; then deleting they; then emptying the Trash; then newly copying POI into the same or another map, ... and verifying with Scandisk ALL (in Win) or with Disk Utility (in Mac)

brightness can be increased/decreased by vocal command without problems
- voice volume is OK (not to loud) and can be increased/decreased by vocal command without problems

FM tranceiver - X40 emulation - does not work on a GO 720 T

I think because FM transmission is only for future TT GO 940 (not for 540 - 740) and ttuser basickpack v 8 203 does not include that.

So i think maybe it's necessary to load original navcore Go 940 and then try with ttsytem patched ?

Dear TTuser. Since you provide many people the possibility to try all new navcores on their TomToms Í have a small question. Can you make HD Traffic working? This would be very nice since now it is not working.

Thanks in advance.

You're not doing anything wrong. TTuser mentioned in first post as "known errors" that for the ONE's it doesn't work when "Navigate to Latitude or Zipcode" with x40 emulation.

Where should it crash ?
I use TT-One v2 (with SD)
8.203.9717
5.5106

When I use latitute it sets the route, and in demo it starts as it should
Postalcode... ditto....
W&C Europe 8.10 without ZIP map !! Where I always believed this was needed specifically for UK & The Netherlands. But not (anymore)

About TomTom Trafic

this new navcore neither works with TomTom trafic in X40/X30 emulation on Gox20/Gox30 with a wireless GPRS bluetooth connexion
(with paying tomtom subscription)
nor any tomtom services (weather,...).

But I'm sure TTuser can do anything for that.

As for HD trafic it is only for GO X40 and with a new paying subscription (with an HD receiver and a SIM card inside) and it will never work with gox20/gox30 with this navcore. In this future HD trafic all services will be payed (weather, ...).

You tell me.... I did nothing special.
Only clue I can think of (and that is what I mentioned in the posting) leaving out the zip map. Sad thing about that is that you can only use the numbers from the postal codes... (that's why for the UK and The Netherlands there's the specific zip map)

To make sure; coordinates like this is what you mean by latitude; N 42° 52.638 / E 3° 2.827 ???? This works without problem, and I really didn't do anything special to make it work. it simply works.....

d/l the cab file (s) required and the x30LoqTTS rar to start.
in example, am using Kate GB...

extract all archives.
make new folder called LoquendoTTS.

http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/4636/loqttsef8.jpg

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/5118/newloquy8.jpg

open Voice folder & copy the files & from here to your newly created LoquendoTTS folder.

http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/3307/loqvoiceid4.jpg

Now, open x30_LoquendoTTS folder and copy folders to your new LoquendoTTS folder too, allow overwrites.
Must do this last, as its the patch.

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/1773/loqpatchcn6.jpg

copy your LoquendoTTS folder to root of SD ( for 510/710 ) model.

For extra voices, copy then into the LoquendoTTS folder as above and RE-APPLY the x30_LoquendoTTS patch once again.

If you don`t have system on your SD, just copy the file system5.5106 into SD, rename it to system, reboot your TT and that`s it.

Ps: check if you have battery enough to do it (no interruptions allowed)

Have installed the new navcore and bootloader on a Go700, no problems other than those already known. It does sometimes freeze the device (only with x40 emu) when the usb is plugged in when the device is already on, but this can be easily avoided if you plug in the usb cable before you switch on the device.

Well done....???

The 740 hardware is a closer match to the 720 than the 940. I was just saying that because of this it would be better to use the version that is more specific and may cause less problems. I am not interested in what you have tried or what they are like. I was just trying to say that its better to use the navcore for the closest match to your hardware.

Does anyone know where i can find the switch file for FM out to car radio???
When i change it to play in the car it doesnt work!!!

Any help would be appreciated thanks!!!

There is no provision for FM transmitter in 540 or 740, it is only available on the 940 model. Until work can be carried out on this model, it is unlikely this functionality is likely to work.

Oh I hope that happens soon as I miss it on my 720.

According to TT, they removed FM transmitter from 540 and 740 before very few users make use of it!!! Really, I wonder who they asked. I use it all the time and have many albums on my unit when travelling and prefer the sound through the car speakers. When I get home tonight, I will upload the similarities and differences tonight on rapidshare - makes interesting reading!!!

Try to put "bton" file to the root of your Tomtom(you find the file from Switchfiles).

This was indeed the solution for TT-One to make the Live (TT-services) functions available again. So assumingly it'll be the solution for other models also.

to see "TomTom Services" with fuel prices and speedcams with nc 8.203 you have to go to settings and then to page 8. there is something like "show less options" or "hide options" or something like that. click on it. and then you go into the main menue on the second side. and there is :-)

Is this the only hardware difference between the 940 and the other two models? And the only software difference is the maps the unit comes with?

I ask because I presume I could just buy myself a GO540, saving me ~£60 on the 740 and just use the Full European/USA maps I got from here.

Dabs.com are selling the 540 for only £262 which would make it quite an appealing buy...

Thanks maverick/sco0ter/terrytpot, that was very useful information.

One further question if you don't mind, does the x40 Navcore 8.203.9717 support MicroSDHC cards. The information here (http://uk.support.tomtom.com/cgi-bin/tomtom_uk.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2634&Lid=1) (and in the powerpoint presentation) tells me the x40 supports microSD and the x30 SDHC, but no info on MicroSDHC. From what I gather from this thread (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=247001&highlight=MicroSDHC+tomtom) a 4GB microSDHC card would probably be OK.

Thanks again.

You missed a bit off there mav, dont think anyones got the google button to work yet as thats also part of the live stuff.More importantly, has anyone got tomtom services working using this yet? I wouldn't have thought so as if you're using a patched navcore chances are you're using a cracked map and thats not the sort of thing we like to be telling tomtom is it!

I took it as read that no one has google working since the other bits also requiring GPRS do not work, presumably for the reason you already mentioned elsewhere. Btw I thought their prices were a bit steep to say the least. Soon as it works, i'll be an instant convert, but for now, I need gprs working when driving so its back to 930 emu on 8.011 and miniscule gprs p/m (pence/month). Heyho

Concurr that tt prices are a bit steep, but then so was gprs data charge on my phone contract when I could get the bleeping thing working (even on official nav and map) so I stumped up for rds/tmc antenna hence happily playing with 8203. Downside, just found out that even lineout to my fm transmitter dont work doh....

Just to say that this navcore is working fine on my 520.

Bootloader 5.5106
Internal memory : navcore + official 720 map
SDHC card : several 810 maps
No switch
No outsourced.bin
x40 emu ok

My favourites have lost their names, they only have street names now. Nothing serious I will rename them later.
But no reset or strange behavior compared to 8.201 :triodance:

You may like to convert your favourites to a poi category. No nasty surprises and you can of course have a phone number with it then. I find this way is more convenient for me. That way I can copy the same poi file to all maps and keep all up to date easily. So my friends in Singapore, USA and Europe are contained in one poi called Mine.ov2, though it might be better to call it something like 0mine so it always appears at the top of list (I just thought of that - not tried)

Much easier to do away with favourites and use poi instead - much more portable and more information can be held

Indeed, not stupid at all, just cautious approach.

The first thing to note is you swapped out the HDD. Great idea! (isn't this usually a 700 mod?)
The next thing to note is that 8.016 & 8.011 work! Excellent!

No, you cannot install drivers - they are precompiled within the system software.
No to telling it there is no HDD - it has no drives so doesn't care.
No to telling it there is CF card - if the driver support is there, it knows already.

As TTuser suggests, load it & see what happens.
Then post your findings here.
Nothng fancy, a simple "Yay! It Works" or "Pants! No Go!" would do.
Also, suggest go for 8.203 as 8.201 is more of a 'beta' or 'test' release.
Have to say i never got so far as removing/swapping my HDD, so 10/10 for this, Nomos

- if i would to connect to pc, i must off the TT, put on dock, and start....
If i put on dock normally, it's restart.....

-when i start my tomtom, it takes more than 60 seconds to start the first road screen...Is normal?

- where is the button for more command input vocale, not only for the calculate road?
All the commands lists are in the preferences...
