Kamikaze 2: Way of Monk is a sequel to Kamikaze: The God's Wind and presents an alternative storyline to the ways of Samurai and Ninja.

As well as "Way of Samurai", Monk's story begins where the prequel ends. The war is over, Fujiyama's influence had saved his motherland from terrific invasion and harmony reigns everywhere. The hero found his mission serving the Gods as a monk and this servitude lasted for years, before Fujiyama felt a sudden urge to check the artefacts which he buried in the ancient sanctuary... going there, he discovers the new, even more horrible menace descending on his country: the dead raise from their graves and bring havoc upon the living. Step by step, Fujiyama discovers the source of this evil and goes for his noble quest to save his motherland. There are many various quests which lead to one of two outcomes (excluding your defeat) which you'd better off left to discover on your own!

Unlike the Samurai who relied on his excellence in weaponmastery, the monk wins with his agility, trainings in unarmed combat and ability to heal himself. Also, the monk can blind his enemies, which is rather useful in one-vs-crowd fights. Later you can find some weapons, such as a sling and a staff, but it's questionable whether they are more useful in fights as opposed to bare hands and feet.

Despite the expectations, the monk Game strongly differs from Samurai both in quest line and in game design. A lot of annoying features which appeared in "Way of Samurai" were fixed and many interesting things were added - such as different sounds for successful hit and missed attack, different sounds for walking on various terrains. The toolbar is made in pop-up mode so it doesn't cover the part of game landscape. The weapons on the ground are outlined with a twinkling frame, so you won't miss them.

The overall result: the second part of this trilogy is definitely better than the first one, as the annoying flaws are removed and the nice features added. Perhaps, Ninja's story will be even nicer, but the second part is good as well.
