How to...

How to use Navigate to... Picture (only 7.915.9196) This is how to use it without the HTC footprint application.

1. Create a new folder GEO-PHOTOS in the root of your SD-card
2. Take a geo-tagged picture with a gps-enabled camera of your choice
3. Copy or move your geo-tagged image files to GEO-PHOTOS
4. Run TT and select Navigate to -> Picture
5. Enjoy

Thanks to facails (ppcwarez) for the info.
How to change the Tomtom Splash Screen for PPC. HERE ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
Thanks to Mecoconuts for the info.

Note for password:the password work fine, the file is a 7-zip. You can use any program for decompress, but I suggest to use 7-zip program, it is free [Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])

you think that the password does not work because in winrar or winzip ask password for every file on the 7z, but if it works, just enter the password as many times as there are files in the 7z

In 7-zip only put the password one time, I recommend this program.

Thanks, working a treat on my HTC Kaiser. I only tried it as a test (I extracted the 'TomTomNavigator.exe' and the 'data.chk' files and replaced the ones already installed) as I assumed this would be VGA and not QVGA, however it is working fine and all the fonts look the correct size.

What was actually done to the .exe to get it working? (on other devices and on QVGA screens).

Cheers, and :thanks:

I installed this on my HTC Kaiser that is QVGA and it worked perfectly. I assume either the software supports both VGA & QVGA resolutions or it was modified to work on QVGA Screens.

original 9033 was signed for use only in HTC, but hacked (no cracked) for use with any PPC, it simple in machine code was change for to say to TomTom that the ppc is a concrect model HTC device, 3 versions was created repack3 vga, qvga black and qvga blue.

In this version (7910.9185) is new and need that anyone hack it. Simple, wait some days.

For people who don't want to wait :

take TomTom Navigator.exe already unsigned, the one from TTUser (length 5.078.016 bytes).

Using hex editor :
. go to offset 0x2A8A10h

. verify you have : 0430 95E5

. replace with : 1030 AEE3 (for VGA black version)
or
. replace with : 0D30 AEE3 (for QVGA blue version)
or
. replace with : 1230 AEE3 (for QVGA black version)

Then save it , and replace these 2 files in your non HTC PDA :
1. TomTom Navigator.exe
2. Data.chk (take the one from tomtom official 7.910.9185 installer, length 7.542.290 bytes)

You then have a working version

I've tested on a Glofiish x800 which is a VGA PDA.

make a backup first of replaced files.

Changes seen in 7.910 (9185) on HTC Tytn II with WM6.1 (German):

1. Scroll wheel on side of TytnII now correcty adjusts volume and replays last instruction , just like 6.032 did:

Previous versions:
7.450 would adjust volume slider only, no replay of last instruction
6.032 would adjust volume slider and would replay last instruction

I used the scroll wheel in my car a lot, so it's good to have this function back again.

I have no data.chk file. Only an exe file is included in the rar.
WhenI copy it, the P3450 (ELF) hangs.

in my first post:
For other PDA that are not supported officially by TomTom and HTC to use a cracked exe. First install one installer original or patched, then replace "TomTom navigator.exe"

but I now think to create a rar with data.chk, for change .exe and .chk and not unistall previous version and install new version. A quickly update of previous version.

You'll find all impossible combinations in my container - ready to install cab's (with almost cracked exe), rar archives with only data.chk & .exe, or just only .exe with all variable skins (qvga blue & black, vga black), also cab's for ASUS PDAs

enjoy!

If you had read the thread before posting.....:oops2:

You need to use the Version 8 keygen for this (and the previous 7.451(9033) version).

You can use the next options:

patched installer cab for HTC device (recommended)
installer for any PDA VGA black
update .exe (VGA) and .chk files.

Search the last v7 map and use Easyusetool for active the map.

I think you should double check.

I'm using VGA version 7.910.9185 with Canary Islands v675.1409 without problem.

VGA and QVGA difference is only one byte, that doesn't explain your issue.

Hello,

I've been reading this forum (and some others) but i still can't understand how to put TT7 running in an HTC Touch Pro.

I already had 3 different installations of TT7 that worked but i was never able to use one of the maps that are available over the internet, only a small one that TT7 downloads. I know I have to patch the map and i know how to do it; i don't know about/how to patch TT7.

At this moment i have these maps Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_810_1940

Are they suppose to work? Shall i download some others? is there any specific dir where to put the map files?

Can someone help me? Just write something like: 1-install this file; 2-overwrite this by this; 3- patch the map; etc and i will check how to to those things (if necessary)

Thanks

Ok... after going around and around i finish with the TomTom7 instalation (the one that was posted on page 2 with the .exe already patched).

Now I'm able to see other maps. I'm trying to use Southern_Europe V725.1947 with this meta:

E9 58 5F 8D 2D 59 BD F9 61 2A D9 70 47 B5 21 98 Southern_Europe-17.meta
(run the patcher; it gives me an OK; i copy the .dct file)

But when i try to load it inside TT7 it says Activation Failed ... wrong code for this product...

Anyone knows what's missing/failing?

(8.15 release somwere in December) because at this moment also navcore7.9 PND for old TT models available that the next release 8 maps can read. they need from that time still only 1 series cards to bring that works on all devices

Andy

No i am not trying to say this version read all 8.X maps but i think that it can read the next serie. (8.15 maps) an example from a few years ago: maps 660.1219 could be read only bij navigator 6 , the next serie 660.1223 could be read bij navigator 6 and navigator 5

and this is a translation from dutch to english from a visit of a few members of the jouwnav-forum to tomtom:

From April of this year NavCore 8 is available for the TomTom PND's. This most recent version of the navigation software was first installed on the GO x30 series. In the months there after, the software via HOME available to users of other devices.

Plans
In response to questions at a meeting of forum managers at the headquarters of the company TomTom has indicated no plans to have NavCore 8 available to owners of a GO Classic, the x00 and x10-series, older models of the ONE and the two versions of the RIDER. These systems are not sufficiently equipped to the features in NavCore 8 .

This news means that motorists who drive around with one of these models are deprived of such things as lane assistance, IQ Routes and the last adjustments related to the Map Share service. This user will also have to continue to do so with the 'old' design of the menus.

Maps
TomTom on the group of customers will be provided with (a) new version (s) of NavCore 7 that it is possible to use maps from version 8. In this way all TomTom drivers equipped with the latest card, essential for smooth navigation.
For clarity we even mention the models that are able to use NavCore 8: GO x40, GO x30, GO x20, ONE 3rd edition, ONE XL HD Traffic, ONE XL, ONE XL 30 series and 30 series. For an overview of the current versions per model, we refer to our survey

if you want to export your favorites from old map - forget this! You can't do it, cause all info stored to 'MapSetings.cfg' - and it can't be exported to different map. The only (IMHO) way - is to convert them to POIs (rather simple - adding POIs you can choose them from favorites), and with no probs you can then copy your POIs to a new map. simillar you can do with recent destinations

That's not what I have found. I simply copied the 'mapsettings.cfg' from the UK & Ireland 7.25.1871 folder into the Western Europe 8.15.2024 folder and all my favourites were there...

what i did is
i installed , i copy the .exe crack over and the dll thing
and i start it and it said my map is not active , my map is working fine with 7.4
i am runing HTC tynt II
Can you tell me pls what i did wrrong ?
If your map works with 7.4 - just need to overwrite 2 files from 7910 (tomtomnavigator & data.chk). And if you were using 7450 - reactivate map with option for 8010 & higher.

O.K. After wading through all the replies, do I just replace the two files on my HTC 3600 that has Nav6 and maps WE & CE 6.75 at the moment, with the two files mentioned on Post1? Then replace the map with V7? Or do a clean install of Nav7?

Only some maps v815 can be used on PDA 7.910.9185 navcore.

General rules:
v815.2003 for gps unit (meta.19)
v815.2024 for PDA (meta.22)

(some exceptions exist on the numbering of the maps, not on the 1st affirmation)

My system came with Igo8 but would like TT but iv just about tried everything, even a 660 map with different voice pack still the same.
If anyone has any ideas PLEASE.
If I get it going properly m8 I will let you know

Well iv given up and gone back to igo8.
I removed all of the .dll's except NOTE and tomtom still worked but still incomplete voices and freezes even with altering the reg settings os time to never, did notice sometimes that when I altered settings to show all files that it would stop the freezing ? so without a ROM update and the possibility of bricking the unit im going to pass, For me there has to be a dll running in wince5 thats not fully compatible or missing so im going to wait for Gliko Gliko to do his stuff and alter his TTSkin for Igo8.3.1 :urtheman:

JUST A SMALL UPDATE for anyone interested
The reason TT freezes IS because of the power settings,I was using mortscript to alter the power settings but this just alters the settings in the registry and not activate them, no program I have found can activate these settings so that they are running in RAM.
If you go into control panel\power options after running mortscript all the settings are at never but then click on OK which activates the settings TT does'nt freeze anymore, but carn't be doing with all that every time to get TT going so its a definate NO for TT running on my unit without a reg alteration in ROM.:suicide:

Hello, friends,

has anybody experience how TomTom 7.91 deals with maps of the version 6?

Background: There are almost no TomTom maps for Greece. The only one I know which covers at least Athens is PL-CZ-SK-HU-GR-TR-RU version 650.1136.

I had TomTom 7.45 both on a HP iPAQ 214 and on a HTC TyTn II, and this map worked well on both. (After, of course, I had manipulated the pna file a bit - version 650.136 became 675.1409.)

When I upgraded to version 7.91 it still worked on the iPAQ 214, but the HTC does not recognize the map - it does not appear in the list. TomTom Home 2.4, however, does see it on the storage card.

So what have I made wrong? The map files are identical on both devices. Have I messed up something with the mac files? Why the difference between the two devices?
Or is there at least a good way to get entirely rid of the map on the HTC so that it can be installed anew? Simply deleting the map files and the mac files in the TomTom folder in MyDocuments apparently does not help.

I presume it is just some silly little mistake, but I can not figure out which. Thank you very much in advance for help - I have a meeting in Athens in two weeks.

Thank you, rusigor - the Athens map would at least solve my immediate problem, provided I can open it. Do you have the password? Is the meta.txt included?

Nevertheless I think it is a pity that TomTom publishes next to nothing for Greece, now that they have even a good map of Turkey; many people rent a car when they are on holiday in Greece.

By the way - there was a press release that TomTom is now also present in Russia in great style. Does this mean we can expect maps of Russia, at least parts of it (not necessarily Wladiwostok)?

Thanks as well for the earlier thread with the fixed software - I had missed it.

Dear rusigor, I assume you are not just awared that the old trick with fake *.pna files works fine with 7910 as well as with 7450. Doesn't work with 7451.

So, USch may still use 7910 with his favorite 650 map of Greece. I just brought his attention that there was a fixed 7910 qvga version.

A new exception to the rules we have elaborated here :

The newly available map Iberia_v815.2023 , 228Mb , ASR enabled , meta .21 , should have been unavailable for PDA user.

In fact it works with 7.910.9185 vga and qvga versions.

Strange but useful for spanish people or visitors ..... This map is very detailed, more probably than will be Iberia_v815.2024 (180 Mb only) when available to our community.

The difference here is that this map Iberia_815.2023 is ASR enabled, and it's unusual to be ASR enabled and PDA enabled. ASR don't work for PDAs, so cspeech files aren't relevant.

No. Lane Guidance is only available in PNA software 8.x and there is no 8.x software for Windows Mobile. Plus you need maps with lane guidance and with the latest 8.15 maps there seem to be two (or three?) versions of each map - ones with (8.15.2003) and ones without (8.15.2024). Only the ones without lane guidance are recognised with Windows Mobile Navcore 7.910(9185), plus PNA Navcove 7.910.

This shows a post from Re: V815 Map compatability
with the following info:

Put all files in Root SD-Card
Rename your map to "Iberia"
Connect your PDA via USB without active sync
(Or connect your card in USB-SD-Card-Reader)
Run tomtom home in your PC...
Push on Update my one (Yes I know you have not tomtom one...)
You can update Mapshare now...speedcams...
Next you can rename map directory and use your own "CurrentMap.dat"
and your own "UserPatch.dat" cut and copy in your root Card...

The following files are in the download:
CurrentMap.dat
ttgo.bif
ttsystem
UserPatch.dat

The info from the CurrentMap.dat shows /mnt/sdcard/Iberia/

So you should make sure you back these up 1st, but what about the bif file?
if you use the one downloaded won't that alter several settings on the sw?

isn't there a way to just alter the files so that they match the map that you are using already and the bif file etc.

Isn't there a way to let it recognise the TT on the PDA via adding dlls in the folder here:C:\Documents and Settings\****\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\*******.default\extensio ns

I just renamed and replaced two files BtCoreif.dll and BtSdkCE30.dll inside a windows folder as a old TT v7.450. But voice remain missing. All other function are ok. Any suggest about? Thanks.

Hier ist die Lösung des Problems wenn Jemand mit TomTom Navigator 7.910_9185 keine Stimme hat:

After the installation of TomTom, look for BtCoreIf.dll in the Windows directory and rename it (for example: "BtCoreIf.old").
Reset your PDA, et voila, your sound is back.

I tried to connect but he's not recognizing my pocket pc

Thanks

Load this one:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Password : demonfatal

Follow this instructions:

Put all files in Root SD-Card
Rename your map to "Iberia"
Connect your PDA how USB device without active sync
(Or conect your card in USB reader)
NEVER WITH ACTIVE SYNC
Run tomtom home in your PC...

Now you can do mapshare updates!!!

Next you can rename map directory and use your own "CurrentMap.dat"
and your own "UserPatch.dat" cut and copy in your root Card...

Note : If you have 2 maps :
- Rename first map directory to "Iberia" then apply mapshare updates...and rename with your original name.
- Next rename second map to "Iberia"....

All credits to demonfatal & mansemino from another portal

I hope, this will help you.... :D

On my htc touch hd voice missing is now solved by loading voices files by old TT6.032 autostart (selecting only add voice by menu program).

However now TT7 v7910.9185 seems Ok but I should like view TT7 in landscape mode, instead of vertical view. Other touch hd user are note the same? Thanks.

For all who think the PDA works slow, disable all POIs on the Map.

I disabled all and now works smooth!

This cab installer (also included in my zip file archive) have just 2 problems :

1. you need a password to unzip it .
2. it's the HTC version for Touch Diamond, that have only been unsigned as Tomtom autorize TT7 on this type of devices. So it doesn't install on Touch HD for which you need a patched unsigned VGA version, until Tomtom validate TT7 for HD. The one I pointed out is the one needed for HD.

I have read in other posts that these files should be removed, however I don't think I have ever seen an explanation as to why? Could someone in the know enlighten me?
I have had TT6 & now TT7 installed on both HTC Wizards (with external BT GPS receiver) & HTC Kaiser (internal GPS & TT7 only) and use BT headsets & Carkits (A2DP) with both and the only issue I have had is to do with the A2DP Carkit button not activating MS Voice Command (where as the BT Headset does).

Most time there's no issue by letting these files. In some cases, you have no sound, or no gps signal , or tomtom refuses to start ....

If you don't use an external bluetooth GPS antenna to run Tomtom , they have no utility at all. Bluetooth management in your pda unit (except for tomtom external bluetooth GPS antenna) use other modules. That's the reason why I recommand to remove them.

. Check the otpion is checked to have the voices . Preferences 1/6 , Voices preferences/Enable voices , Turn On Sound .

. be sure to put the voices files at root of sdcard in \Voices

. Try download another set of voices files, in case yours are corrupt

. finally try rename the 3 files I mentionned earlier (rename not remove), just to see if your problem is there . You'll have to execute a demo navigation and see if voices are on then.

If all of that doesn't help, I have no more ideas .... sorry

Both of you: you're looking for USA/Canada 815.2022, and you will need a memory card for it.

Don't want to take this thread down map road. I have been using the 720 North America for a while. I know the difference between the two styles of maps, but do you think that USA and Canada is worth the road upgrade?

No, really??!! :hehe:

Download the map yourself...or buy it!
You can only download cities only for testing..

Happens to many. You need to purchase a map via TomTom or check out the Tomtom maplinks thread in this forum. From there you will download the map and the easyusertools folder (Some maps are not compatible with the PDA navcore yet, so make sure you check). Just make sure you read about eastusertools in these threads as many don't get it the first time and ask many questions that have already been solved but some are just too lazy to read.

Goodluck.

Thankyou for the time in your response...l have looked and located the map info , also the eastusertools...but l still have one problem ..everytime l start the tt7 from the phone it tells me that l have to download a free map...which it then gives me a choice of nl based maps only...and will not let me proceed past that...until l do....guess l will just download the map then play with the aussie map form the forum as you suggest....thanks..
