Freezes on my TTOne V2 when I touch the screen to enter the menus.
(Using Outsourced.bin)
Tried with and without switchfiles; BTOFF / BTON / RM / RUNCLEAN / TTSOFF / MODEL (X20 emu - X30 emu) / VERSION (A:7900 / B:9180)

Strangely enough I can hit the screen on the lower place (left to change volume / Right to enter the page with statusview+version+details+copyright pages) this works without problem. But hitting the navigating part of the screen freezes the TTOne and causes it to reboot

I assume starting with this NavCore the lack of RAM (just 32MB) becomes a problem for TTOne ?

Any chance of someone mirroring the SE system file from post 1 please? Just spent an hour trying to download and use jdownloader and can't get my head round it. Third time I've tried in the last 3 months. Its too complicated for novices plus the download sites bombard your pc with adverts. Thanks in advance.

Just for anyone who may download the Official files from TomTom.

I connected up my 720 (running patched 8.051) and TTHome (2.4, using patched 8.051 DLL file) insisted I update my device. It showed 7.450 Navcore, but I went ahead, as I already have the patched 8.051 and 8.300 files, in case it went wrong.

After installation, when I started up, it could not see any of my 'patched' maps, as it was an older version of Navcore. No problem.

I reset the device and plugged it into the computer and asked TTHome to update, and this time, it showed the 8.300 Navcore, so I allowed it to download and install.

This time, it kept saying I could not use the maps with this version or something like that.

I simply copied the patched 8.300 TTSystem file into my device, reset it and started up, and everything is working good at the moment.

BIG thank you to TTUser and everyone once again.

I will take the device for a drive a little later to see how it performs and report back.

So, for those of you who have x20 device and are offered the Official update, this information may be of some help.

Drove a little mini-errand [20miles] and thinking the sat placement is more

Hello the 8.3 only for x30 x20 devices

All Navсores from TTuser are for all models of TT. This version 8.3 is also for all models.
Just read first post – TTuser tested it at TT 710.
However not all TTuser’s Navcores work properly at some models.
Navcore 8.2 and Navcore 8.3 at the moment don’t work at TT910.

Fooling around a bit with 8.3 on my 910 and actually it does seem to work. I run in x20 emu mode. Sound is indeed (too) loud. No problem connecting device to pc. IQ routes and Lane Guidance working, as well as voice input. Lightsensor seems to work. Bluetooth Remote (not original) also works. Battery drainage I have yet to experience. Too early to tell.

I have my Navcore and all the files related to it on the Internal Memory, and ONLY maps on my SDHC-Card. Makes life a lot easier.

Then, when you connect with TTHome, select the Internal Memory device for updating/installing the new Navcore.

Don't let TTHome install Nacvore onto your Memory Card, as it will just confuse you, because you will have the Navcore software on the Memory card for no reason.

To make your existing 'patched' maps work with the new Navcore (8.300), simply copy over the 'patched' TTSYSTEM file (link available at the beginning of this post by TTUser) and overwrite the file on the Internal Memory. Then reboot.

That's all I did.

Thanks guys,

I should have been more specific. I did not mean to frustrate anyone. :-)

I found out how to get the ttsystem file eventually, but it did not work. It caused my device to hang up.

How large is the patched ttsystem? It seems to be the same size as the original that came with NC8.30.

you should first use the original until you see "mapactivation wrong blabla" then overwrite it with patched ttsystem, size is almost equal, differ only a few byte

Any positive experience with using tomplayer with v.8.300 on x20?

justplain
13th November 2008, 18:26
I'm using 8.300 on my 520

bootloader 5.5022
South African map 7.20
upgraded via TThome from 8.010 and used TTusers (great work!) patched ttsystem.
system seems a little slower moving through menus than when using 8.010, colours are a little different. and as others have mentioned the option to output commands via the FM is gone ( thats a stupid idea, Tomtom please put it back)
route calculation is maybe...slightly faster.
but no major improvements. stick to 8.010 if you dont have issues or wait till an updated 8.3 version comes out. but if you gotta have 8.300 , go for it.

Still no-one who got 8.300 to work on a TT-One ?? (Without freezing when touching the screen)

Nope, you can of course desoldering the 32GB chip and replaced it by a 64GB model.
Maybe I make a how to for others, but it's much easier to wait for an software solution. If possible if the application is too big for internal mem it must be swapped to sdcard, but only in internal mem the TT code is executable.

Tested on TT Go (classis) 32Mb --> NoGo :-)
Tested on TT Go 700 (64Mb) also a No Go....
Both have the same problem as the TT one´s , freezes and reboots as soon as you touch the (main) touchscreen.....

Its working with no problems on my ttone XL.
using runclean im getting 1,5MB free mem. Without runclean i get 0.1MB free mem but everything works, even long calculations with 150000 roads. No freezes. im using the nobt and notts options also. using 815 iberia map.
Thanks for the great work everybody!

Attention: nobt, rm, etc. have now no effect more without runclean, only if you enable the Cleaning remove it also the unneeded Files from RAM, with outsourced.bin is this almost useless because the Files are already not more in RAM

All TTOne's have this problem. There's not enough RAM-memory (just 32MB) to keep it running. Stick with 8.204 for the moment.

like you see in this image i got 7.4 mb free ram the same has other navcore!! we need more free ram?

I confirm what martpaul said!

I do in my tomtom One 2nd Edition:
1. Format SD Card
2. Extract navcore_SE_8.300.9732_basicpack.rar
3. Extract SE_ttsystem.8300.9732.rar
4. Switchs on root: BTon, TTSoff, delgns, cleanflash, runclean, rm
5. Iberia Maps 815 with dct
6. Copy voice folder

Current Configuration:
Current Emulation: X30
BT:1
TTS:OFF
Run in save RAM mod
Remove additional files
run cleaning

Navcore: 8.300 (9732/081030)
System: 244890
32MB RAM: 7.6 Free
GPS: 1.20
Bootloader: 5.5012

And it freeze on menu!!!

If I delete Outsourced.bin I have 2.8MB free RAM

This is not a RAM problem on tomtom ONE... I think It´s a Menu display problem!

GO510 working fine with x20 emulation.

For anyone concerned about TTUsers comment in the first post in this thread "Pc-Connection freeze it" - If the TomTom is turned on when you plug in the USB cable it does indeed freeze.

But if you turn off the TomTom first, then plug in the cable, then turn on the TomTom, it starts up, gets to the point when it would normally show the map or main menu, and reboots, connecting to the PC quite happily.

So TomTome home works, map share updates work, etc

Great work TTUser! :thanks:

Have a 920 with 8.300 (updated with TTH) and ttsystem from TTuser, WE 815 Maps and latest cams from here.
There are nearly no speed cams warned by the TT.
With 8.010, 8.016 and 810 map there where all cams active.
After 8.203 and 8.300 with the same 810 map, only few cams shown, they are all activated in the service menu. No change with 815 map

The navcore 8300 for all devices are identical in everything.

The only difference for X630:
- Bootloader 5.5022 (instead of 5.5015)

- Missing two files:
a) fm2010parameters
b) fmsignal

We need to test us, this time in the "Official"

Depends if you are using XP or Vista...

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\ApplicationData\TomTom\HOME\Profiles \XXXX.default\extensions\

Vista: C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles \XXXX.default\extensions\

You will have to operate your TT once from TThome, it will download new files to a new directory after extensions (see above). Overwrite the dll from TT with the cracked one.

Good luck.

Updated my 920 via home to 8.300, it booted up just fine but when I try to select my W&CE 8.10 map I get the message 'you cannot use this map on this device : Western_and_Central_Europe-15'

I then tried copying the ttsystem file from TTuser to my device, and it still boots up and everything looks the same but I still can't select this map, I get the same error.

The map was working fine with NavCore 8.002, could anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction ? I see lots of posts here from 920 users that say they just updated via home and used TTusers system file, and I don't know where I'm going wrong...

Thanks for the patch.

the file

DATA.CHK / DATA.IM1.CHK / DATA_LI.CHK / DATA_SP.CHK /DATA_TS.CHK

are the same (compared byte to byte) with 8.203 basic pack.

The difference is DATA_3D.CHK / DATA_IM2.CHK / DAT_IS1.CHK

Now TT ONe boot and work.
But the icon of ALG (to enable/disable it in Preferences) is not displayed right (no icon)

I installed the 8.204.

Stupid question probably; but what does 8.300 have/support that 8.204 doesn't?

So IMHO 8.300 is less interesting the 8.204

Just so you & others know what & why TTuser has advised you...

if you look at Option 1, it is for v8010 upwards ( + now a couple of the new v7's )
if you look at Option 2, it is for v7 to 8.002

You are, in effect, moving from one generation of key to another so require a new dct file to suit the navcore group it is in.

No big deal, I did read the post about making the Loquendo TTS work in XLS emulation, but I like the ALG and IQ routes, Vocalizer allows for those so I will stick with it. Everything seems to be working. I am trying the 8.203 software on it now... I dont htink I like the x40 screens and icon... they are too busy and a lot of them look too much the same. hi all, I've got 8.1 or something running with navcore 8.3on a 920

I notice straight away that it sees less satellites and is slower to fix?

and it locks on power up if I have my mapsettings.cfg file from my old v7 maps folder in the v8 maps folder, any ideas on that?

edit, a reboot seems to fixed the satellite problem

Hi Everyone, newbie here.
I had read through all 17 pages of this post and i'm still confused!!!
I don't want to appear stupid, but i probably will, but i still can't figure out what to do.

I have a Go720 with App v8.3 and North American map v720.1803

I would love to be able to get the NA v815 map running.

I have read TTUsers 1st post several times now and still can't seem to figure it.

Could someone hold my hand and guide me through it, please?

I have home 2.4 installed on the PC and i like to think i'm pretty computer savy, but its just going over my haed at this stage!

Did you actually download the 8.15 map ? Ya got it ?

Did you download TTusers Easyusetools ?

If you've answered 1 & 2 yes, then there's some great tutorials here that walk you thru the installation. [hand holding included] search

If you answered no to either question, then i'd suggest you do some more reading. The sticky's contain all the info you'll need. search

Thanks for the response.

In the SE_ttsystem.8300.9732.rev.1.1.rar there is a switchfiles.zip file and a Outsourced.bin folder.

If I understand correctly, those files are only to reduce memory usage. Is that right?

How should they be used? It is very difficult to understand his explanations in readmenot.txt...

I have the same problem with the Italian map 815 (but also with the old 810) and the Navcore 8.300 (only the patched TTSystem to let the maps work).

I've tried with all 3 types of computer voice (x10, x20 and x30).... same results.

Another problem I have is that if I select a different visual scheme (from the directory schemes) the device has no changes (uses the Belgica one). Don't know why.

With the first version of 8204 many functions on x20's did not work :oops2:and a patch for 8300 was donated by TTuser within days of 8204 first being available. As the 8300 patch was not a full SE pack and just used with official 8300 all functions for x20 worked ok (fm,line out, light sensor). However, now that we have v1.1 from TTuser for 8204 lots of guys are reverting, myself included, so that we can use the new x40 appearance and the full vocal instruction suite.

Try the folowing:
- Connect TT to the computer and run TTHome
- Select icon “Add maps, voices, etc”
- Select there “Add items on my computer”
- Select there “GPS quick Fix data”
- In opened windows select the last GPS quick Fix which you received (the lowermost at this list)

Running Tomtom Go 720T
SE Nav 8.300.9732
BOOT 5.5106 - MAP WECE v815.2003

Works now perfectly. - Thx to TTuser and chacks (for the map(s))

I did a clean install on the internal drive, means:
01: I formatted the internal drive first
02: I copied the WECE8152003 to it, also I put in this mapfolder the generated dct-files for the map and speed traps and the dummy speech-files
03: finally i copied the folder asr and the rest from the pack offered by TTUser and also the patched ttsystem
04: Also I installed the tomplayer now available in a new version (tomplayer.net)

All works well - mapshare- and gpsfix-updates, bluetooth, line-out (!!), speed traps, tomplayer, delpoi, voice control for my favourite country... - aeh - the navigating option is also working ... :)

With NC8.3 it's now possible to use the line-out (fm-transmitter? - not tested, no need for that) - and this wasn't possible with the previous version (8.204) - someone asked for advantages of NC8.3 - should be an explanation why users are very interested in NC8.3

Greets and THX again

Problem is my TT is acting like I'm using the old poweroff switch... when the system turns off, It has to boot fully on next run. Instead of instantly coming on... any ideas what's wrong?
Also noticed that Navcore 8.3 doesn't load from cleanup.txt in root... trying to autostart Suntime App
any ideas?

Morning,
"resume on external power" doesn't work with this navcore.
With 8.0* it was fine on my G0710.
Is there a way to fix this with the new navcore?

what is enhanced ALG from post #2?
I've got a nasty feelin that I'm setting myself up to be shot down in flames here but what the hell, here we go..
:oops2:
As far as I'm aware, the term "enhanced ALG" was first coined by mav in post 2 where he says:
"enhanced ALG (more junctions)"
I think all this means is tomtom have gotten round to adding more ALG data within the newer maps not that its a new and improved ALG. If you look for posts by ChillyCat he quite often posts screenshots of new ALG pictures that he stumbles across in the US (quite often with nice detail in them) implying that tomtom are getting around to including new "pictures" within their mapshare updates.
Another of our American members also recently coined the phrase "reality view" referring to the pictures themselves, as opposed to the arrows shown at the bottom of the screen (when using the menu bar in its horizontal mode) which he insisted were the actual "advanced lane guidance",although I've never seen either expression used by an official source such as tomtom themselves...of course saying that leaves me wide open to any further information on the subject that anyone else has access to,so,fill your boots and educate us all some more if you can........

Terry, you are correct. I said enhanced ALG, not Enhanced ALG. I meant that with the new maps TT have enhanced their offering of ALG with the new maps which include junctions not previously included on their first offering of maps such that many more junctions are shown, not that it is a better system. No flames from here mate.

It certainly makes some junctions a lot clearer e.g. travelling into Leeds or around the M60 near the airport and I bet on roads rarelly travelled upon, it is a great help. I still have a lot of my A2Z maps highlighted with markers doing just that preGPS days. Would have taken a lot of the stress of a 3000-3500 mile a week job away.

Any positive experience with using tomplayer with v.8.300 on x20?

Yes.
But make sure you download it from their website. Then unzip(unrar) and copy the whole lot into your root folder. Do not copy the ttsystem file, though which is also included because your device will not boot. Use the ttsystem file that you have already been using.
Then download PocketDivXEncoder_0.3.60 from this post
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?p=1962667&highlight=tomplayer#post1962667 to convert your videos. From this post use only the encoder, the other stuff is useless.
It depends on your TomTom's CPU, what video quality you can use. I have a TT920, so I use quality "40" with "Original framerate". Set your "output dimensions" to 480x...(tick "keep aspect ratio" as seen on the screenshot).
Then "Encode now" and copy the encoded video file into your TomTom's "video" folder.
Enjoy.
Best regs,
Weko

It's very clearly stated by TTuser in first post:

"ASR Folder for Voice Input is equal to 8.201 or 8.203"

If you do a (clean) install of the original navcore 8.300 for x20 you only have to activate the ASR function.
Place a text file named 'support_asr.dat' in the \ASR folder. This text file must contain the number 1 supposedly to activate it.
So texfile contains only the number 1 on the first line.

You don't need the ASR files, only this file, at least that's my finding.

Hello,
Navcore 8.300 has another annoying bug.
If street name contains in its name uppercase letter with dot "." and then full word, find street does not working.
Examples:
T. Narbuto Gatve
S. Zukausko Gatve
I. Simulionio
all these streets can be found in Vilnius, Lithuania.

With earlier versions of navcore it was enough to enter just part of the name from full word. For example to find T. Narbuto Gatve it was enough to enter Narbuto and so on.

The same problem is valid for other countries and cities, but in Lithuania there is a lot of streets with such names.

On another topic I noted the same problem but I found a solution - rename the favourite you want to get ride of Bin and then select another favorite you want to get ride of Bin and it replaces Bin with Bin. You can keeping using rename with Bin until you removed the unwanted favourites.

Yes, it works when you enter first uppercase then . and then word.
But try to enter just Narbuto and you will never find that street.
The problem is that it's difficult and almost impossible to remember first upperscase letter before . sign.

It worked in navcore 8.010 with 8.10 western & central europe maps.
With 8.010 version it was enough to enter

1 - Narbuto to find T. Narbuto Gatve
2 - Ivanausko to find T. Ivanausko Gatve

To install new bootloader you need to rename file system5.5022 (or system5.5106) to system. After it you need to boot TT and wait.

Do you realy need new bootloader 5.5106? If 5.022 works I doubt it. So you could delete these files.

I think TTuser has just ad this names for reminder of version becouse orginal bootloader not have any other name .... just system. The bootloader has to be named system to have any effect so if you want to upgrade your bootloader just remove the original system (if you have one) & rename the appropriate one to system and the next time you boot your bootloader will be updated. Once changed there is no going back and the system file(s) can be deleted with no adverse effect.

FYI seems there is a reason why the FM radio broadcast for instructions is not available on NC8.300 ( as used on a TT520)

Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support regarding your TomTom FM Transmitter.
Your reference for your query is 08xxxxxxxxxxx.

We understand that you are concerned about the recent change to the TomTom application which has disabled FM Transmission of navigation instructions. We deeply regret that it has become necessary for us to implement this change, as our FM Transmission technology was a unique innovation at the time of its release.

Unfortunately, due to recent legislation, it is no longer allowed to occupy an unused FM frequency unless audio transmission is constant. Because the signal that carries your TomTom's voice instructions is not constant (voice instructions are only given occasionally, as needed) it has now become illegal to transmit this kind of audio via FM radio transmission.

We regret that this feature can no longer be offered under the current legal restriction.

Please feel free to contact us in case you have any further questions.

With Best Regards

I have owned a *Sirius Radio since they 1st came out
*Satellite Based Radio

Couple months ago, I recieved a letter from Sirius Corp. The letter was to warn me not to use the FM Transmitter that's a feature of my particular unit.

The explanation was somthing to do about FCC complaints and FCC requirements. I did not read the small print cause I don't use the FM Tranny thangy.

So, I kinda believe all this TT stuff is prolly related to some kinda "common" problem caused by the FCC

....just as the saying goes on Sirius, "FUK THE FCC"

Hello, Does someone knows how to reactivate the blue tooth remote controle after the upgrade to 8.300.9732 with wce8.15? Before with the original, the FM transmitter for music and the remote control worked fine but after the upgrade both refuse. bton and fmon in the root didn't do the trick.
