View Full Version : TomTom One - Renewed & optimized DUMP
lessram 19th November 2008, 13:06 Yet another try to optimize it.
This time it looks like it fixed most issues.
IQRoute v2 - OK (with map 8.15)
LaneAssist v2 - OK (with map 8.15)
Postcodes - zip incl. Dutch + new UK data
Postcodes/Lontitude issue - Solve it yourself by selecting SMALL + QWERTY keyboard
BT/Phone connection stays Alive
Audio incoming phonecall - ACTIVATED
FM Transmittion - Removed
Vocalizer - OK
x40 icons/menu - working
Volume = Increased a lottttt !!! For me 40% is enough where I had it previously at 70%
added gong_x3 POI warning sound. Added this because most if not all sounds which you can download from TomTom Home are in stereo, which freezes the tomtom audio. This one is converted with dbpoweramp to ogg 22khz mono. If you want other sounds, download it and convert it yourself.
Home through GPRS.... don't know. Don't have an account.
Strange: On routes which are very familiar to me and I've driven many times with TomTom, it now suddenly picks another route. Might be because of the renewed IQRoutes. But sometimes very unlogical IMO.
Be known:
All previous settings will be lost during the first start, because the addition of clearflash switchkey. This is needed to delete some old faulty settings in the Flashmemory (no not the bootloader). This is a save switch which automatically gets deleted after its job is done !!
Bootloader file, NOT included (to prevent people from bricking their TT)
Vocalizer files not included.... makes the rar file to big, while most of you probably already have them. (If not download them here (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2368454&postcount=34) and extract those files to a map named VocalizerTTS on your TomTom, let it all overwrite eachother, don't create sub-directories, there are many double files, that's okay !!
LoquendoTTS, not included. Seems to be possible to get it to work, but has to run in XLS emu and even then causes several issues.
Voices, you have to include them yourself, would be a waste of rar-size to include them.
Connecting with your phone takes some time !! When hitting YES at the question whether it should search for phones it looks like it's frozen, but it ain't !! Give it some time !!
TomTom Home works incl. MapShare and Navigating.
For Navigating (Use my TomTom) you need to use the right .dll map (not just the .dll file itself !!!)
Remove your old versions and replace it with this map (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=305639) (If you hadn't done that already)
BTW: In TTHome Use my TTOne, the One is recognized as a TT520, but gives the x40 icons :). That's okay ! Keep it that way !
You have to restart your tomtom 2 or 3 times to give it the chance to create and write the ttgo.bif, ttgo.bak, ttgo.ori files
http://www.savefile.com/files/1893501
Sorry for all the adds on the linked page, but there's no 10x download limit. And it's fast
PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE IF YOU INSTALLED IT AND TELL WHETHER IT WORKED OR NOT AND/OR IF YOU FOUND ISSUES
Trent L 19th November 2008, 13:46 Waiting for your upload lessram. If available 2nite I will download it and give it a try tomorrow. Cheers.
chaakky07 19th November 2008, 14:39 Hi lessram. i updated the navcore to my tomtom go 500. brilliant it works fine. now my unit has got more ram available. cool....
Navcore : navcore 8.204.9718
maps : UK 8.15.300
Request:
Can you do optimize the navcore Navcore 8.300.9732 so that it works with one and old devices.
Zebb 19th November 2008, 14:55 Err, thanks... but it's not working here. It says it needs the voice Emily?
I made a new folder called VocalizerTTS and put Samantha (expanded) in, then it wants Emily?
lessram 19th November 2008, 14:57 I think this version works on many devices better then before. But I cannot test it myself. Great to hear it works great on TT Go500.
I cannot optimize 8.300 (besides I don't want too :) All I wanted in the beginning was optimizing it all for TTOne v2 with SD.)
TTUser is the one to do that, I have no idea where to start with it.
All I did is use several versions of the 8.204, mix them and add some tips and issue-solutions I read about here.
All this is done with the tools TTUser handed this forum.
(Might be possible that adding the ttsystem from 8.300 to my dump would work, but I'm not sure)
lessram 19th November 2008, 15:00 Err, thanks... but it's not working here. It says it needs the voice Emily?
I made a new folder called VocalizerTTS and put Samantha (expanded) in, then it wants Emily?
Is she attractive? If so and you prefer Samantha.... Send Emily to me, I already used Samantha ;)
This is not caused by the NavCore dump I think.
I never used Emily, it never was on my harddisk nor tomtom. So it must be something from you.
Doesn't it help to select another (non TTS) voice first after having installed it through TTHome ? (As said I did not include any voice, so that's one of the things you have to start with yourself through TTHome)
Besides Emily is a Loquendo voice (??), which probably was installed on your tomtom previously.
By The Way: I didn't download the 2 US (Tom/Samantha) voices from the link above, might be the reason ?
Alex20047 19th November 2008, 15:47 Perfect work, lessram!
Let me ask you, as a great expert on ONE, two questions:
1. What ttsystem did you use? From SE_ttsystem8204.9718.rev.1.1.rar or from SE_ttsystem.8204.9718.x10.x20.x30.rev.1.1.rar?
2. Did you try to use any 815.2003 map without cspeech files (or with DUMMY files) on Navcore 8.204? Does it works?
Zebb 19th November 2008, 15:51 The Emily voice is the only option and I've only used the UK Jane voice that was in the initial files. So near, so far, frustrating. Thanks anyway.
lessram 19th November 2008, 16:07 The Emily voice is the only option and I've only used the UK Jane voice that was in the initial files. So near, so far, frustrating. Thanks anyway.
Connect your tomtom to your PC start TTHome and download some new voices. It should really solve your problem. Restart the TomTom twice afterward.

1- Something else....
I used an earlier version (not rev 1.1) and mixed it up with rev. 1.1
SE_ttsystem.8204.9718.x10.x20.x30.rev.1.1.rar includes the Outsourced.bin which is needed for some TomTommodels to save some RAM. So that one I choose. Also tried to find the "right mix" of switches created by TTUser.
But several models besides the TTOne seem to work great with this dump.
2- I have a 4GB SDcard, so do not care about CSpeech files for my own system. But I assume this also works with dummy files (if needed at all), but didn't test.

I tried that and it made a new folder called voices (not vocalizer) and put a load of voices in there - no computer voices needed for TTS. I'll save it for later and try later tonight.
A scary 'initiating shut down sequence' US female voice comes on after a couple of minutes of non use and switches itself off. :(

You won't be able to download TTS Vocalizer voices through TTHome.
You have to download the 6 from the page I linked to in the 1st posting, add those to a map called VocalizerTTS. These are the "computer voices"
The voices in the map "voices" are human recorded voices. Don't have to select a lot of them, just 1 or a few.
A scary 'initiating shut down sequence' US female voice comes on after a couple of minutes of non use and switches itself off. :(
:) one of my personal added files, you can remove it (suspend.ogg)
I use it to make sure the TomTom really shutsdown. To often my battery was empty when I needed it again. (Didn't turn it off)
But it shouldn't happen when it's not used for some minutes. That's weird, probably a setting you changed in one of the menus. Because it doesn't happen here...
Alex20047 19th November 2008, 17:05 Thank you, lessram,
Have you ever tried ttsystem from SE_ttsystem.8204.9718.x10.x20.x30.rev.1.1.rar?
As I know from TTuser it was especially changed to work with changed Outsourced.bin from rev.1.1.

Both ttsystem and outsourced.bin are the v1.1 version in this dump
lessram 19th November 2008, 17:18 Same request here Lessram..
TTUser is the pro, and I'm almost possitive he's doing his best already for the last days to bget it optimal for us. As said I am just mixing up his files to optimize it for TTOne.
You could try to place ttsystem 8.300 in my dump overwriting the 8.204 version, might work. (make a backup first)
TRIED IT MYSELF... DOESNT WORK, TTONE FREEZES
Alex20047 19th November 2008, 17:54 Thank you for the answer, lessram!
But it seems that today all my curiosity is focused on you ;)
One more question :)
Did you try this patch with 8.300? http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2363890&postcount=126
lepa71 19th November 2008, 17:57 Hey LessRam
Can you check version of your Samantha voice? You can do this in TTH.
I would really appreciate it.
:thanks:

Tried it with an earlier version of mine, but not with this one. Will try it now.
lessram 19th November 2008, 18:59 This time it works.
But sound crashes when you make a phone call.
Sound goes away and doesn't come back with a restart.
Might be working with GPRS, but my provider doesn't support it
So infact causes more problems then it solves.
Besides what's the use of 8.300
I still don't know anything that's fixed or better with 8.300
You even loose the x40 menu (though that's just design)
Alex20047 19th November 2008, 19:47 Thank you one more!
Did it solve the problem with freezing when touch a screen?
lessram 19th November 2008, 19:49 That problem is solved yes.
markku55 19th November 2008, 19:58 Thanks lessram.
Works fine on my one v2
buyer 19th November 2008, 20:51 It freezes my TT1 v1 and also no sound, so no luck so far:afraid:
Alex20047 19th November 2008, 20:55 Thank you lessram! :thanks:
elhachem8 19th November 2008, 23:48 woks fine
thanks
depa1111 19th November 2008, 23:57 It's OK with my one V3
:urtheman:
rolfio 20th November 2008, 01:32 so far I can see/test right now, it works!! on my tt one v1
:thanks:
lessram 20th November 2008, 01:42 Has to work on every TTOne (I think, and even more sure about One V2) because the hardware is alike. And I read it also worked on a TT500 so probably several other devices will run it. But this one is optimized for One, so I might have disabled things that are supported by others.
In my opinion there are just 1 (or 2) bugs left;
1) Don't try to dial a number with the TTOne... you'll loose all sound and only a restart will get it back again. Phone options are only a nice addition to see who is calling you. But use you (handsfree) mobile phone to dial and talk.
2) My phone (N70) supports GPRS, but because I just use my phone to call once or twice a week, I started using the cheapest prepaid provider (Simyo) when the phone became Simlock free. I am very happy with that, but they don't have GPRS... so I cannot test Traffic/Buddies/Weather/Google etc.... And what I've understand this might give problems.
But don't forget, it's just a TomTom One.... the cheapest model available. Yes I paid the full price back then, even sold my expensive €600 TTClassic for just €75, while the classic is infact better, more option, but thicker which I hated esspecially in the summer.... where to leave it when you just wear a pants and T-Shirt?
All the things TTUser gave us for it, makes it a machine almost like the newest TT940. Besides that even TMC works (not officially) So we cannot complain.

Hello lessram,
I can i use a 4Gh SDHC card on my TTone 2nd version? It's possible?
carpboy 20th November 2008, 03:04 put Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_815_2003 (1,9 GB) map on but says map cannot be used on this device and in tomtom home says needs activating when i look under show contents of one

DL latest easyusetool and the map will work. dtc file in country map is generated according to your unique device ID.
Mauritsz 20th November 2008, 03:53 Hello lessram,
I can i use a 4Gh SDHC card on my TTone 2nd version? It's possible?
Yes, you must use a new bootloader, copy that called *system* file to the old card. Boot the device and you see the boorloader flash working, wait till the complete flash is ended (max 8 seconds) Then you van use the 4GB SDHC card. Never interrupt the flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where Can I get the so call *system* file? And what version of the bootloader is necessary?
lessram 20th November 2008, 04:13 .........Never interrupt the flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You wouldn't be the first this week..... 2 or 3 others bricked their TomTom this way. Just give the TT it's time to start after the upgrade. (Unplug the USB, and wait, wait, wait !!! Till you see the map.)
nofences 20th November 2008, 04:16 Thanks for the reply.

Unzip the contents of this file to the root of your TomTom and reboot. After that, you can use up to a 16 GB card.

Look for the first posting in this thread x40 Navcore 8.203.9717
download the dlc file, unrar and use Cryptload or JDownload to download the file.
You can also choose for the package of lessram for TomTom One's see this thread.
Why? Tomtom One and older models has less memory than expensive models.
It's 32 MB others have 64 MB. When os/navcore/card have not enough workmemory navigation goes slowly or cards has delayed pixelbuilding.

Hi. For which devises is this bootlader suitable? For TT1 or/and others?
staid 20th November 2008, 15:34 so far I can see/test right now, it works!! on my tt one v1
How about BlueTooth? My ONE v1 keeps still breaking BT connection (same with lessram's first dump) , but it might be because of different hardware with newer ONEs?

i'm having sound pb when using my Nokia N73 with my tomtom one v1
no sound when i call !!!
can somebody explain me how it works if it works
thanks
synackattack 20th November 2008, 20:49 I'm looking to update my TomTom One v3 and could use a little clarification on a few things after reading all these threads.
I have a new 2Gb card that I will put the North_America_v815.2019 map on. I will copy over some voice files into VoiceTTS and Voices directories. Then the contents of TTdONE_noVOC will be put in the root.
questions:
Do the TTS cab files need to be extracted or left just as cab files?
Which navcore is this?
Does anything need to be done with any of the files in the TTdONE-noVOC pack?
Anything else I'm missing? My unit currently has Boot 5.0500, App 7.900, OS:2341, and GPS 1.21
Thanks

jinx10000 21st November 2008, 02:21 blood30.
If you plan a route and it asks you for the month and day and the route planning screen says something like fastest route for that date then it is IQroutes2.
blood30 21st November 2008, 02:25 no day month just fastest route planning?, i have 815.2003 uk map
Mauritsz 21st November 2008, 02:26 works a charm on my g500, how do i know i have iq routes 2?, i have uk 815 map :urtheman:
Plan a route
If a screen appears with ask when you start 1. now 2 specific date and time 3 no specific date and time , you have the latest map with IQ 2 routes,
Remember not every 8.15 map has IQ 1 and 2 routes at all, example the Western europe 8.15 1GB map it seems this map is intended for the cheaper models. But we know better and use the latest IQ 2 maps ;-)
Mauritsz 21st November 2008, 02:36 keygened map ok but still says you cannot use this map on this device western and central europe-19 any ideas?
Been there done that! Use the latest easyusetools and everything works fine.
jinx10000 21st November 2008, 02:37 Sounds like you either don't have it or you went to planning preferences rather than plan a route?
Click Navigate to:
Then select a destination:
If you have IQ routes 1 the screen with the map will say something like Fastest route -IQRoutes (weekday) or (weekend)
IQ routes 2 will say
Fastest route - IQRoutes (specific date and time)

then TT asks for a voice, i put some on it before ( the 30 you can download with tt home), the person doesn't speak :(
when i reset and use Lisa or Bernd sometimes it works then. the voices all listed, but i never have to change then there is no longer speach.
what did i wrong? it worked last version of lessrams dump.
lessram 22nd November 2008, 13:27 Did you include POI warning sounds from TTHome or other (stereo) sounds ?
TTOne is mono 22khz and crashes on Stereo 44khz audio. This is not a NavCore specific problem, it happens and happened always.
lessram 22nd November 2008, 13:30 IQ2 working can be chacked if you prepare a route. If you get the option to select date/time you have IQ2.
Why would you get the option to set a date and time when you set a route to go immediatly ? (Still you can see whether you have IQ2: It shows the time of travel)
piquadrat 22nd November 2008, 14:09 i also have no other sounds, only your dump, no other config.
what i dont understand, is when i experience with the config files rm, ttsof, btoff... ram of tomtom gets less, as your original dump, so i let it as your original.
i dont know, what are the typical noice solution of the tomtom home voices.
Can u upload some voice that i can check, if it will work? thx

i'm having sound pb when using my Nokia N73 with my tomtom one v1
no sound when i call !!!
The users here can do magic - but they can`t change the hardware of your ONE (ie. the one don`t have a microphone and no FM hardware). So be pleased that they unlock the features you aren`t supposed to have (like TTS, IQ-routes and LA) and don`t expect miracles.

lessram 23rd November 2008, 01:05 hi all
@lessram, could you please tell us why you removed the FM Transmission?

thanks
I removed the FM Transmission because this dump is originally meant for TTOne which doesn't have a FM Transmitter. But that has nothing to do with the Audio incoming phonecall. Because that goes over GPRS/BT.
If you wish FM back, I just removed the 2 files from TTUser's 8.204, so place them back in the root and it'll work.
lessram 23rd November 2008, 01:19 Thanks for your effort, made a complete new build (used some of your stuff)
Leuk, weer wat te proberen.
Can you tell us the differences compared to earlier versions, like my dump?
Would be great if you fixed things, or added new things....
And most curious...
1 - does LoquendoTTS work ?
2 - Does HD/Live work now ?
3 - No sound crashes anymore when "accepting a PhoneCall" ?
Would be great ! These are the "problems" with my dump, though I think problem 1 & 3 have to do with 44khz audio problems, a hardware problem, not to be solved with software upgrade.... Simply a fact of limitations of the device. I THINK. Tell me I'm wrong please.
BY THE WAY:
YOU DID NOT USE ANY OFF MY STUFF !!! IT'S ALL TTUSER'S STUFF.
All I did is just try to make the optimal combination of files, like you did now.
tuurtje 23rd November 2008, 01:58 Lessram, alles goed met je :D
Difference compared to your build:
- Added Cars symbols (original ones from Go 630 build 8.300.9732)
- Removed from config: cleanflash & runclean (not needed every time)
- Added in root 2 files (those are runonce) to clean flash en reset gps only first time
- Added files to ephem folder for QuickGPSfix
- Added latest helpme files (original ones from Go 630 build 8.300.9732)
- Added voices (original ones from TomTom site)
- Added _COPY_TO_MAP dummy files for all languages
- Deleted CurrentMap.dat (doesn't belong to clean install, will be made on first startup)
- Deleted settings.dat (doesn't belong to clean install, will be made on first startup)
- Added system file 55022 (support for 4GB SD CARDS)
- Deleted UserPatch.dat

All sounds very good, extra optimizations.
But the above is strange IMO;
Remove it from config map
Add it to root
In both cases, it's just runonce.....
So that doesn't make sence IMHO
But infact it doesn't matter... results are the same. Root or Config
To make you version "ReadyToUse and TroubleFree" I'd add ttsoff and btoff to the config map. That way you cannot touch BT nor TTS at all.
(Though personally I like to experiment with both BT and TTS... though so far all it resulted in were crashes)

I have a TTOne 2nd edition (4N00.005) and was using Lessram's latest dump (Navcore 8.204 with North America 2Gb v815.2019 and bootloader 5.5106). VocalizerTTS, IQ, LaneAssist were all working. BT had some issues.
Now I installed TTUsers rev1.2 (from scratch, using basicpack + SE ttsystem) and for some reason the voice is no longer working. If I try to test it, then all sounds are gone.
I may be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what.
Any suggestions?
Before I forget, a BIG thank you to TTUser for his OUTSTANDING contributions! :urtheman: :thanks:
Another BIG thank you to Lessram, to make it feasible to easily make a TTOne working with the latest updates from TTUser.

Use the forum search with the words: bootloader system
Hits the following post: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2366265&postcount=3
Here you can find the bootloader worked for my tt one v2. unzip and copy the file system in tomtoms root, reset and wait until menu or map is shown - Do not interrupt or your tomtom goes to heaven. After that your tomtom reads SDHC Cards :). Later you can delete this file from your tomtom. After update worked, you can reset and hold on-switch pressed down for some seconds until boot menü information are shown. Or you have a look in tomtoms version menu.
:good2:

KillerDid 23rd November 2008, 12:37 I used the tuurtje's dump on my tomtom 1 first version.
I use the same map : WCE v815.2003
I thought everything was going well, but I found an interesting issue for IQ route v2.
When i select a datetime, it is set automatically to 01/01/1970.
And I can't go beyond 31/12/1971.... But I can chose 10/10/1899 if I want...
Does anyone has the same problem?
By the way, the calculous time is very long now.
it was taking 45s from my home (near paris, france) to venice, italy with 8.204 + maps 810, and IQRoute v1 enabled.
With IQRoute v2 set to "now" it takes more than 5 minutes with 815 maps.
With IqRoute v2 set to "not a particular time" it takes 2 minutes...
agdwebmaster 23rd November 2008, 12:44 Hi All,
I have and TTone 2nd Edition (4N00.004.2) with a 4 Gb SD card.
My TTone is running, thanks to lessram:
navcore 8.204.9718
boot 5.5106
maps: Western & Central Europe 815.2003 and Central & Eastern Europe 815.2003
Is is possible to use a RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver USB my patched TTone?
Thanks for your feedback!
shlocker 23rd November 2008, 13:47 I have used every 8204 dump of navcore on Tomtom One V2.
Have been trying for weeks now but still have problems.
Main problem is the voice (using plain Jane) instructions are silent after 5-10mins.
Cant get "waring safety camera ahead" or "warning school zone ahead"
Basically NO POI warning sounds work.
It is most important to have speed cameras for me as 95% of time I know where I am going.
I am using Australia Map 815.286. Today I used on a motorway (no sound) and Lane guidance screen as approaching various exits came up which was great.
If only voices would work fulltime and POI warnigs would be great.
Is it just me or is this common?
breakout8 23rd November 2008, 16:28 Got Australia 815.2059 up and running with this on TTone v3 but text to speech directions don't work and speed cameras etc. don't show on map.
Which files would I need to copy from my old system to enable this? Was working fine with NC 801.xxx and Oz Map 705.xxx.

My RDS-TMC USB works amazing on my 4N00.004.2 unit, much easier than pairing phone with bluetooth and of course, no need to pay Tomtom subscription any more. :)
So buy it with confidence! (I found the cheapest place was eBay)
If it helps, this module has tag on cable with 4V00.014.

Go outside wait for a GPS connection and your problem is solved.
Like computers are always 1980, TomTom uses 1970 as start date when it's not updated.
Doubt there will be any traffic jam in 1899 :)

Remove all POI Warning Sound you downloaded besides the ones that came standard with it. Probably all sounds problems will be solved after 1 or 2 reboots after it.
As I mentioned severeal times before; Most (if not all) added POI warning sounds are 44khz audio, TTOne can NOT handle this sample rate (hardware issue, not to be solved with software)
When TTOne tries to use such a 44khz sound, it plays it maybe once, but after that ALL sound (including voices) will be crashed (silent). Only temporary solution then is a reboot (till the next POI warning).
If you want self choosen warning sounds, make them MONO 22khz.

Some questions/additions;
1) Why do you place x40 in model.txt ?
Infact the navCore is already x40... so there's no use to emulate and x40-NavCore to x40....
2) You added system to the root... risky, I know I did it too, but not everyone knows it's to flash the firmware !! So like TTUser did you'd better rename it to system5.5106 and mention to remove the last part if someone wants to upgrade.
3) Which file cleans the flash ? I don't see cleanflash.... still it works.
4) Why did you place BTON in config, while you don't want it touched... why not use BTOFF (and maybe FMOFF) ?
(Purely out of interest no to burn it down !! The more dumps the better, it can only grow that way)
pusti123 23rd November 2008, 20:28 Problem with zooming:

I think I've got TT1V2 working just like my previous V7 application.
I converted the ogg files to 22hz mono by downloading a converter and added the new file to sounds folder.
I havent tested on the road yet but demo mode works and voice stays on without crashing and all my warnings come up also.
Now I am trying to find the original sounds ie. cuckoo, beep, cow etc. so I can convert these too, but I cant find them anywhere in the folders. But they do come up on selection from TT menu.

Is there any way to get the computer voice (like Kate english) to read out street names?

Just 6 are avaiable;
English - Samantha
English - Tom
French - Felix

Spanish - Javier

No other voices excist which work on VocalizerTTS
Some people seem to have gotten, LoquendoTTS to work on a TTOne, using xls emu and the sdk package. But somehow I never gotten this to work.
breakout8 24th November 2008, 14:11 Hi lessram.
I'm really new to all this but am really curious as to why downloaded celebrity voices (John Cleese etc.) which worked fine with system 7 as purchased would cease to function more than once with your optimized dump. I've now deleted these and the original supplied voices now function in test mode. Yet to be tested on the road.
Furthermore I'd appreciate your thoughts on how to get speed cameras to show on the map as they're in the map folder. Am I missing files from my old system (saved) to make this work? All I have added your dump was a map 815.2059 for Australia which works fine and my mapsettings.cfg file to retain previous destinations. Should the folder 'poi' be added which contains the file Safety_Camera_Australia.tlv among others?
I look forward to your reply.
Kind regards,

Because the Home versions online are now 44khz, while the old ones (original supplied) were 22khz. TTOne cannot handle 44khz audio.

This I don't know because I do not use the speedcams from TomTom. (I use a "better" (?) alternative from www.scdb.info but dont know whether they provide files for your country)
But in your situation I would try the idea you mentioned.....
lessram 24th November 2008, 14:29 Ofcourse you also need the;
Radar_AUZ_TomTom.ov2
Radar_AUZ_TomTomov2.ver
Don't know for sure whether it's AUZ for Australia ;)
These files should be in the directory of your map.... I THINK !!!
and indeed plave the .tlv in your POI map
breakout8 24th November 2008, 14:51 Hi lessram,
I've a feeling the the celebrity voices I downloaded (not from TTHome) must have been 22khz because my TTone 3rd edition played them without a problem from first drop into the voices folder... unless something has changed capability-wise with the newer Navcore version 8.204.
Have put the poi folder into the root of the drive and will see what happens tomorrow on my next trip.
Thanks very much for your prompt reply.
:D
nomailaol 24th November 2008, 17:19 Works fine om my V4 tomtom.
since i have internal memory of 1 Gb and use the Western_Europe_1GB_815_2024.
Therefore no ALG or IQ
The sound when I turn off my device is heard when I use x40. When I use ori i hear no sound when shutting down the machine.
I hope it doesn't slurp my batteries..
goed gedaan lessram:thanks:
agdwebmaster 24th November 2008, 17:29 Hi All,
My TTone v2 with SD card, is running since some days:
navcore 8.204.9718
bootloader 5.5106
Since yesterday, it restarts every time when I switch it off.
I have to remove my SD card and switch if off again to shut it down complete.
Does anyone how to solve this?
Thanks
Albert_S 24th November 2008, 20:16 had this problem myself on my v4, hold power button constanlty, it booted and after a few seconds screen went green, let go of power button and it rebooted back to normal, must be a form of reset. Don't know if this works on a v2, but worth a try.
Albert
agdwebmaster 24th November 2008, 23:23 Thanks Albert S,
This procedure works amso on TTone v2.
LaurentG 25th November 2008, 00:31 Hello everybody, and thanks to guys who provide this working 8.204
One "missing" feature : impossible to remove a favorite.
Is it a known bug ? Is there anything to do to make favorites removing working ?

Where can I get English - Samantha and once I get it where do I put it?
I might give Loquendo TTS a try.
I think you change model.text from X2 to xls
shlocker 25th November 2008, 07:53 Furthermore I'd appreciate your thoughts on how to get speed cameras to show on the map as they're in the map folder.
Kind regards,
breakout8.
:thanks:
Put the speed camera files in the Australia Map and a .ogg sound file in Sounds folder but first convert it to Mono 22hz.
Of course in menu set up you must show POI and warn when approaching a POI and choose the sound.
By the way the map815.2059 I think is for Navcore 7.900 and doestnt have lane assist. You should get Map 815.2086 if you now running navcore 8.204.9718
carpboy 25th November 2008, 10:50 got tuurtje dump tp work on tomtom v2 with Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_815_2003 (1,9 GB)
Steps to take:
1 - Make a backup copy (just for safety)
2 - Format SD card (use Panasonic SD formater) with EXTERNAL CARD READER
http://panasonic.jp/support/audio/sd...p/sdfv2003.exe
3 - Copy map to SD card
4 - Generate *.meta.dct for your device and used map (the one you used copied)
5 - Copy *.meta.dct to map folder
6 - Copy all files from _COPY_TO_MAP\DummyEurope\ to map folder and overwrite all
~ When you are using USA maps use _COPY_TO_MAP\DummyUsa\ ~
7 - Copy all files from One8.204.9718.rar to the root of your card
8 - LEAVE CARD OUT OF YOUR TomTom, reset your tomtom by sticking in a paperclip into the small hole on the bottom for at least 15 seconds
9 - Turn on your TomTom and wait till it ask to insert SD card. Insert SD Card
10 - Be patient it will reboot automatic to clear all settings
is this the best map to use or is there a better one which i should try?
KillerDid 25th November 2008, 12:28 On my Tomtom One v1, all seem to work fine.
But I have a question.
Whetever I put in model.txt and version.txt, in the root or config folder, nothing change : I still keep the x40 emulation.
Other switches are OK
do you have any idea?

I have a strange problem with the computer voices. I use Samantha and when I select the voice and test it, it seems to work. But then it doesn't work when giving directions. Then I downloaded the human voice Jane, and if I select Samantha for reading messages and warnings (which is what you have to do as Jane is not a computer voice), then neither Jane, nor Samantha would work - but the POI warnings would.
Now if I select Jane and choose the option not to have the warnings or messages aloud, then navigation directions would work - but POI warnings wouldn't.
Ideally, I would like to get Samantha and POI warnings to work.... any ideas how I can do that?
shlocker 25th November 2008, 14:41 There is no vocalizer TTS or LoquendoTTS folder in the dump.
How can I get street names to work on TT1V2?
lessram 25th November 2008, 15:28 Creat a map in the root: VocalizerTTS

Extract the voices in the map
If you extract several voices, it'll probably ask to overwrite files from the other voices... that's okay, they share the same files.
DONE !

LaurentG 25th November 2008, 23:54 Hello all,
already asked, but no answer yet, so I ask again :
I'm unable to delete favorites with 8.204 on a One new edition (Sirf + SD Card)
Is it a known bug (said differently : do you have the same bug ?)
Is there any solution to fix ?
lessram 26th November 2008, 00:05 Use the BTON switch, it solves this problem. Why??? Dunno. But it does.
LaurentG 26th November 2008, 00:19 I just tried... but doesnt work. Favorite removing still impossible.
Second try : it works, but with bton switch and NOT btoff switch. THANKS
I thought it was possible to have both because they have different goal, even if their name is confising... it was my error !
BTW, what is exactly the purpose of bton switch ? I didn't catch anything in TTUser explanations about this switch !
lessram 26th November 2008, 00:56 BTW, what is exactly the purpose of bton switch ? I didn't catch anything in TTUser explanations about this switch !
The trick TTUser uses is the next;
TomTom uses Linux
So ttsystem is a linux file
TTUser extracts it and split it into seperate small files (simply said like making new books of each chapter of a novel)
All these seperate files (which are also part of the ttsystem file) can be found in the outsourced.bin / outsourced.8.204 folder.
When you startup your tomtom the ttsystem gets started but TTUser patched it in such a way that the seperate files in the outsourced folder overrule the parts in ttsystem
This way he can combine seperate tiny files (i.e. from older or other devices' NavCores) in this outsourced folder. And edit/change each part of it.
BTON enables the BlueTooth in the outsourced folder which as said overrules the part in ttsystem (the part which originally gives problems)
All the above is just my interpretation of what TTUser is doing.
All in all a hell of a job !!
TTuser 26th November 2008, 01:03 for you can something life and dead to same time, a light on and off to same time, good at least in my Universe can nothing be on and off to same time
btoff switch bt off, is something clearer to understand as this, if device not have bt makes it of course no sense to switch it off, more off as off is for me also not possible
bton switch bt on, this change then the Menu and make TT Service (with speedcams) available
LaurentG 26th November 2008, 01:12 OK, understood, while before, if I had already understood that btoff were to switch Bluetooth off, but I thought that bton, despite its name, had nothing to do with bluetooh, and it's the reason why I didn't think that bton and btoff were (as you say) like dead and life, light and darkness... but had completely separate meanings.
Now it's clear. Thanks
On the same subject, do you know TTUser why bton switch has an impact on
- favorites deletion
- detail button in POI selection
With bton, deletion is possible, and detail button is present, without bton, deletion is impossible, and detail button is missing. What is the link between these two features and BT ?
LaurentG 26th November 2008, 01:19 Another question about this 8.204
I tried to set up VocalizerTTS;
When I select a "computer voice", it works fine during the selection (I can hear the voice pressing Test button), but afterwards, there is no any sound. To get sound working again, I've been obliged to reboot with the cleanflash switch.
I did the same test a second time : same result.
At the third test, I chose a registered voice, and with registerd voices, all's working fine.
Question : what did I miss to succeed in using VocalizerTTS voice ?
PS : Actually, not needed to "cleanflash" to get voice and sound back : selecting TWICE a registered voice, and sound comes back.
Nevertheless, remain impossible to use a VocalizerTTS voice
TTuser 26th November 2008, 01:23 this is another great senseless TT-Mystery, qwerty for zip, bton for favo, and this all only for ones, by me works all this, bugged more not, same for in previous Versions, that Mapshare kill Speechinput for some Cities, where is the Connection:confused:
VocalizerTTS; use you the other ttsserver? with the original from 8204 works it not
LaurentG 26th November 2008, 01:31 Which ttserver are you talking about ? Is it the one which is in your rar file ttsserver.for.910+Vocalizer+x30.rar that I have to use ?
I do the test right now
LaurentG 26th November 2008, 01:34 where do I have to put the ttserver file ? There is no such file currently on the SD card !
In the root, or in Outsourced.8204/bin ? Or elsewhere ?
EDIT : Ok, I put it in Outsourced.8204/bin and it works. Thank you.
But BTW, what is is difference between ttserver in ttsserver.for.910+Vocalizer+x30.rar and the one in ttsserver.for.910+x30+Vocalizer.rar ? The second is smaller, but what is the actual difference between both ?
LaurentG 26th November 2008, 01:36 Juste another point : for zip, you can both use qwerty or azerty. Which is important is to use SMALL keyboard
lessram 26th November 2008, 01:46 Another question about this 8.204
I tried to set up VocalizerTTS;
When I select a "computer voice", it works fine during the selection (I can hear the voice pressing Test button), but afterwards, there is no any sound.
Why vocalizer doesn't work for you I don't know (indeed might be ttsserver) but I know why the test works.... check the folders for the voices; there are several .ogg files. Listen to them and you'll find out these are prerecorded samples, just being used for this test-option. So infact these tests have nothing to do with VocalizerTTS....
LaurentG 26th November 2008, 01:50 OK, it was due to ttserver.

sixaolo 26th November 2008, 16:50 2 little questions, please:
1) okay, LaneAssist doesn´t work on 1-GB-cards ... (I´ve got the newest ONE v4)

2) why did the volume increase such a lot ?! Is there any chance to reduce ... ? Yet, 10% are toooo loud here ... :-(

Your question puzzled me...until I remembered that in some languages, the word for "(memory) card" is the same as "map (of an area)".
The smaller MAPS don't include LA or IQRoutes.

is it really possible to connect the TomTom ONE (V4) via BT with the phone (BT-handy) to display incoming calls, as mentioned at the beginning ?! When hitting YES at the question whether it should search for phones, definitely nothing happens - waiting for a LONG time ....
it´s difficult to charge the TomTom, because after about 5 minutes it´s switching off automatically (asks me before, but I´m not looking all the time on the display) - any ideas or hints ?

Yeah: the TomTom doesn't HAVE to be turned on to charge it. Just leave it plugged in.
rytenuff 27th November 2008, 06:11 OK, it was due to ttserver.

Probably a few lines of Linux code. If you can understand Linux code then you could find out for yourself. If you can't, what does it matter?
ttfun 27th November 2008, 08:01 [QUOTE=Tex88;2386321]Mine flashes "Searching..." for about half a second, and then says it didn't finde my phone.

I have had the same problem. Use settings, Bluetooth to connect to another device. I set up my notebook. Open the phone page and delete the connected device and set up your phone.
lessram 27th November 2008, 15:14 I can connect ot to my phone. Not that it's usefull, because sound immediatly crashes when it tries to use the not excisting microphone. So all it is usefull for is "seeing who is calling" But still you have to use your phone to speak/hear who's calling.
arbitrabbit 27th November 2008, 16:17 Probably a few lines of Linux code. If you can understand Linux code then you could find out for yourself. If you can't, what does it matter?
Firstly, there is no such thing as Linux code... you write the program in some pogramming language and Linux is the kernel, not the language. Secondly, it is a binary file so you can't see what changed anyways.
Assuming TomTom is using Linux, I guess it should be possible to find the GPLed code somewhere. TTUser, is that where you start from?
rytenuff 27th November 2008, 18:44 I stand corrected. However, it is still probably a few lines of coding. Maybe one is written more efficiently than the other? They both achieve the same objective. i.e. they enable VocalizerTTS voices to work with NC 8.203/4. without causing any apparent problem for other functions. Again, what does it matter?
lessram 27th November 2008, 23:13 Look at this even the spoken adress option shows up :)
Again useless like the Phone options, but funny to see on a TTOne v2
Caused by adding an ASR directory and in there an empty file support_asr.dat
lessram 27th November 2008, 23:17 All in all, the unability to support 44khz audio is the biggest problem with TTOne.
While more and more I come to the conclusion that this did work previously. So there must be as problem with a codec or so.
LaurentG 27th November 2008, 23:25 Probably a few lines of Linux code. If you can understand Linux code then you could find out for yourself. If you can't, what does it matter?
No, it's not "linux code" but binary compiled exe.
What does it matter ? to know which one is better in different cases, and to be able to choose one not only on hazardous way...
arbitrabbit 28th November 2008, 00:11 All in all, the unability to support 44khz audio is the biggest problem with TTOne.
While more and more I come to the conclusion that this did work previously. So there must be as problem with a codec or so.
That's an idea... TomTom uses mplayer for playback... which inturn uses libvorbis or libogg for ogg playback.
Trouble is that they distribute the sytem as a binary which makes it impossible to replace the codec. TTUser on the other hand it seems has gone through the trouble of downloading the source and setting up the toolchain. TTuser, can you please upgrade the mplayer and the codecs to the latest version by any chance?

delpierro 29th November 2008, 01:06 I'm looking around this forum to see if someone could get working his tomtom ONe working with TTS voices and LaneAssist and IQ routes.
But when i mixed some files together this evening suddenly i could choose the TTS voice 'Samantha'. This is in the X40 emulation. Also the LaneAssist en IQ route are still working.
Is this what you people (like Lessram) looking for ???
lessram 29th November 2008, 01:55 Nope !
Samantha is a VocalizerTTS voice. Those voices aren't the problem. We want the LoquendoTTS voices at work. Vocalizer only excists in 6 voices Male and female versions of English/US, Spanish and French, also the quality is less then Loquendo.
For Loquendo excists many voices, in example Saskia and Willem, both are Dutch voices

nomailaol 30th November 2008, 20:54 I tried again today, still having the same problem, my TomTom one XLS freezes at "Writing route instructions" when I ask it to make a new route. I updated my map to North America 815.2019 on Navcore 8.204. It works fune unless I use the ori, ttssdk or xls modes.
I hope that I can get it working. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Many of you seem to have had no problem when using this optimized dump. What am I doing wrong?
I had similar issue with "ori" setting and with TTSoff and btoff
settings. tomtom freezes at the end when calculating the route.
After changing back to the original lessram's settings, worke again. semms ori settings notworking with me also. I have v4 tomtom we 1 gb 8.15 map.
ludde28 1st December 2008, 02:01 Hi,
I have TT1 v2 (with SD) 8.204, boot 5.5106 and W&CE 8.15_2003.
Works great, but mapshare thru TThome 2.5 doesnt uppdate for several days.
Quickfix downloads normaly, so TThome works, but i have not received mapshare for over a week.
TThome thinks my TT1 is TT520, at least it raports when browsing TT1 thru TThome.
Mapshare is config to 2nd lowest level to get uppdates.
mmalka 1st December 2008, 03:54 lessram,
does your DUMP (from the 1st post) works with the latest TomTom Home 2.5.0.29?
Thanks

josmed 1st December 2008, 07:54 I have a TTOne v3
Just upgraded from TTHome 2.5 to their Nav 7900.8190
TTHome recognizes I have a Map NA v815 2019
I have downloaded TTUser ttsystem for 7900.8190 dated 10/30/2008
When I start TTOne I get no map found
Solution ????
Thank you
Slijper2 1st December 2008, 09:32 Josmed: I think you need to create a new .DCT file for you Map NA v815 2019. Use the Easytools from TTuser.

shlocker 1st December 2008, 12:08 I have lessram dump 8204 working on TT1V2. Everything works great with Aus Map 815.2086. Even vocaliser voices work great.
BUT
when I connect to TTHome there are never any updates such as GPS quickfix.
I have another card with Navcore 7900 and Aus Map 815.2057 and that gets Gps quickfix updates.
Why? Anyone know.
lessram 1st December 2008, 12:30 Go to your Home directory, there's a folder named "ephemeris" (Mine is in c:\user\documents\tomtom\home\download\complete) in this folder (ephemeris) are subdirectories named; QuickGPSfix, QuickGPSfix-1, QuickGPSfix-2, etc.....
Remove ALL those subdirectories.
Now connect tomtom to your PC and start Home. It will find the new updates now.
The updates are just downloaded once, in your case coïncidentally (?) everytime when you use your NavCore 7.900 SDcard.

martinmacca 1st December 2008, 18:16 Managed to get it to work on My TT One V2, had to update the bootloader as it was freezing on the startup screen. Just one thing thats annoying is the sounds for the POI's, i want to select one of the Polite sounds but they need to be converted. Where are they located so i can convert them into Mono form.
Also newbie question - what does the Vocalizer do?
Thanks

gaoxingbu 5th December 2008, 04:38 Hi guys,
I am a newbie to this arena and I am having some problem getting the dump to work on my TTOne V2. I think I must be missing something. Can you please take a look and see what I am missing:
I did the following:
1. Download and unzip the dump file from http://www.savefile.com/files/1893501 as specified in the original post, put on my SD.
2. download and cracked map USA_and_Canada-22 (815.2022) by easyusetools, put in the map folder in my SD.
3. On SD, created config/version.txt containing the following
A:7900
B:9180
4. On SD, modified config/model.txt to contain the following
ori
Then I tried to put SD in my TTOne V2 with and without step 5 below:
5. put a file ttgo.bif on SD (Got the file from http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2368884&postcount=36 and modified it to contain my DeviceSerialNumber and DeviceUniqueID)
When I turned on my TTOne V2, it stays on the screen (showing splash.bmp) for ever (at least 25 minutes). I had to use reset to turn it off.
Can you please help me to get this dump to work?
Thank you very much!

gaoxingbu 5th December 2008, 17:30 Gaoxingbu
You need the latest bootloader (5.5106)
Can you give me some info about upgrade to latest bootloader?
I looked at thread: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=312369
and the only info I can found is the following:
==========
you have to remove the original one "system" file first and put in a safe place..
then
you remove the number from the file and put on your ROOT. like system55106 remove 55106 becomes system
then reboot your tomtom and you should see it update
=============
However, I don't find a "system" file on my SD. Can you shed some light on it?
Thanks,
lepa71 5th December 2008, 18:12 You don't have to create ttgo.bif manually. It will be created by itself on boot. I usually put version.txt and model.txt files in the root on TTOne. I have model set to x40.
Hope this helps.

The only thing that's not working is TTS. After patching the home dll folder, I was able to do "operate my one" with 8.15 map recognized. However, when I tried to add computer voice, it didn't show any available.
Can someone tell me how to get computer voice?

did it on 4 ONE V2 and ONE V1 (once) I juste take the Dump drop it without creating the "version.txt" I just add voice folder + Help folder and some other mising folder (very few, I compare both my actual tomtom and the dump using win explrer and I drop from actual to new one the missing folder, this way it's easy to see what is missing) and it work right away
First it will flash the GPS then restart.
You may want to remove all pictures and ogg (picture splash screen are not realy needed) at first and see if it start.
I try the 2 Dump given here and both work fine

wowknight 7th December 2008, 17:33 Yet another try to optimize it.
I have used a mp3 file and converted to ogg vorbis 22 khz mono cbr vbr abr tried them all in sounds map and in root but does not work. the length is 4 seconds. (splash.ogg)

I got a TT 1 v2 a few days ago and i'm now trying to update it, to the version in this thread, is it the latest?. I've read the video guide and done step one, which is writing down the information, map, os etc. I'm on step 2, trying to back up my TT. I keep getting this error

I viewed some posts about VocalizerTTS that works on TTO V2 with NC 8.204.
I tried a many things out, but it won't work till now.
I created a folder "VocalizerTTS" and there I put in all the things I could found.
I edited the config-file from TTSoff to TTSon.
I pushed the ttserver-file into the folder "outsourcedbin".
Result= a never ending restart-process.
What have I to do now to fix the problem ?
And are 32MB RAM enough to use TTS ?

Where can I find the "packs" u were talking about? Till now I using the opt.& renewed Dump of lessram.
And to the TTS-Files: I have found (maybe) old TTS-Files TS6.5 or something I can read if I look into the folder.
But if using a program from spain (botiquinv10) the created folders for using VocalizerTTS looks much more diffrent. Also the file-extensions are diffrent always *.hdr or something.
And I'm still looking for TTS-Files for NC8.xx for German-users.

Myky 9th December 2008, 22:57 Hi chenglee,
I tried the same but no sound.
Dont look for Katrin. Look for ...steffi.cab
I tried the same procedere with ....samantha.cab. Its the US english voice.
It workes.
An now ..... you will think Iam crazy......but she speak german words, but with a very bad slang.
The same with files spm_Paulina.cab and spm_Kavier.cab. Speak with spain slang.
frc_Julie.cab and frc_Felix.cab speaking with french slang.
Its important to store the cspeech files in map folder.
If you installed all the files you will see in the select menue for voices its looking for steffi (german) but you cant select it because you must install the de_steffi.cab. But I didnt found the file.

chenglee 10th December 2008, 10:27 Hi chenglee,
I tried the same but no sound.
I found a way to install a spanish computer-voice via a spanish tool (BotiquinV10). But, like you said I can hear them with an foreign slang.
And the created files a pretty diffrent if you compare the files with the content of "German-female-Katrin.cab". It's an diffrent folder-structure and file-extensions in there. And since I used a dump from lessram I can see the Steffi & Yannick-entry too. I think if I could find them, they would work then.

Hi chenglee,
I tried it with your doing at first too. But no positiv results.
Iam using TT ONE 1st V2 with Navcore 8.204 and 8.300 on a 2GB SD Card.
I deleted LoquendoTTS folder and create the VokalizerTTS folder. Extracted the eng_samantha.cab file in the vocalizerTTS folder. And the other cabs to.
But not Katrin.cab. You say it correct. Its another filestructur and completely other files.
I deleted all other sound files.
I can see the the steffi entry to but I cant select it.
I selected one of the other vioce.....samantha.... and samanta speaks german words with the english slang.
Samantha speak english words if I switched the TT language to english. Then she speaks only english words but if I switched back to german TT language she spoke german words again. Thats it. Iam waiting for steffi.cab too.

So I tried to do like you said(create the VocalizerTTS-Folder, copied the *.cab-files in it) but what should I say, nothing happend after reboot. Either no new entries (like Steffi,German, Computer Voice) is present.
Maybe this is a wrong steffi.cab!?!

wackywoo105 12th December 2008, 21:02 I seem to be having sound problems with TT1 v2 and map UK_Ireland_815.2024.
The normal voice works ok BUT
I installed the Samantha voice to VocalizerTTS in root. I can select it and test it but then it doesn't work even if I select it for all options (e.g foreign roads). Sometimes when testing any voice they don't play.
I selected gong_x3 for safety preferences over the speed limit but it doesn't sound if I do go over.
I also don't get any audible warning for safety cameras.
The initiating shutdown also seem a bit hit and miss sometimes sounds, sometimes doesn't

add mapas same u used

model.txt =
x40

A:7900
B:9180
then add folders art,contacts,ephem,helpme,etc

I have only unzipped in the VocalizerTTS the french voices found somewhere in this forum. And I confirm it reads street names, and other messages.
Unfortunately, the "french " voice is a "canadian french", with a quite strong slang, and some pronounciation bugs : eg, when she says "Dans deux cent mètres", she actually pronounces "dans deux cent métreu-treu", which is not really pleasant to hear...

However... Seems that IQ and ALG are not included.

ALG: It is grey and can not be selected.

I don't think it is a matter of slang. On the 200 meters problem, with the same Vocalizer and voice, I get «deux cents met». I'm under the impression it is an older generation of tts. In the very few trips I've done, road numbers are said but missing lots of street names. Weird. I tried a few possibilities such as using the Loquendo tts for the 910 that had large voices that was working on my previous NavCore version but it does not work anymore so had to switch to Vocalizer for my ONE XL-S with NavCore 8.204 and NA 8.15.
As for IQR2 routing, I'm not impressed. I had to go to a local electronics store and it suggested me to take the congested highway at rush hour... OTOH, today, it corrected itself faster to the alternate route I wanted when I did not drive the original route it suggested.

The Loquendo voices you are referring to (1st msg of post) are the old 910 large voices which I have working on my v7 NavCore but did not work on v8.204 NavCore for an unknown reason. Vocalizer voices do work on v8.204 but bypass Loquendo entirely as far as I can gather. Vocalizer also has limited language choices and is of an older tts sw generation.
The ttserver file could be in Outsourced.8204 which I had incorrectly called Outsourced.8204.bin but have just edited to reflect the proper name.

wackywoo105 16th December 2008, 00:32 Ok I have got it to work.
I put my orginal 7.900 tomtom setup back on. I then deleted the map to give more room. I copied the files from the 8.204 dump accross allowing it to overwrite as required. I put the samantha voice back on in "VocalizerTTS". I then deleted most of the normal voices only keeping 3. Finally I put the map on keygened it.
It is now working perfectly. All audio is fine. Street names read and all POI audio working and cameras audio working.
Originally I deleted all files off my TomTom and then copied the dump accross followed by maps etc because it said not enough room. I am not sure what the diffference is but maybe some of these files are needed and not replaced by the dump.

Any time one changes the computer voice, it requests you to selct the voice speaking features, all the things you want it to say. Did you set them?
julesbloke 16th December 2008, 22:34 Big thanks to many of the posters here! I have successfully updated my TT1 v3 (no SD slot) using the dump, 5.5106 bootloader, Vocaliser, and 8.15.2003 UK and Republic of Ireland map. :thanks:
Everything works - IQ routing, Lane Assist and TTS.
However, the TTS Samantha does not read out street names. It will says "Turn left the 43", "Take M40 towards Oxford" and other things (it's grammar isn't too good :) ), but it will not say "Turn left onto Station Road". It only reads out road numbers. Is this normal? I was hoping to get full spoken directions :(
Also - do I need to keep the bootloader file on the TomTom now? I assume it only needs flashing once! Will it do any harm to remove the file?
Thanks :D

I'll try it tomorrow on my way to work :D

I had checked that on way back and yet it still done nothing
GilbertQC 16th December 2008, 23:50 However, the TTS Samantha does not read out street names.
Thanks :D
I noticed the same behavior about street names but thought it might be a peculiar heppening since, just a bit later, it pronounced a road number. I originally thought I might not have chosen a computer voice but, with the road number being said, it removed my doubt. I really wish we could use any Loquendo tts in NavCore 8.204 in x40 emulation. So far, I have no proof it could work but there are so many combinations possible, it is rather lengthy to test out and one needs to be very methodical in doing so with pin resets and documenting each step to be able to reproduce it constantly.
As for bootloader system file, you can now delete it. I guess that when it does the initial load, it checks it version and, if not higher than the one presently used, just keeps on loading the system files.
SpiderZebra 17th December 2008, 01:06 Ok I have got it to work.
Thank you so much
:yourock:
It seems to me that I did the same thing before (except somefiles related to the settings)...
Anyway I did it again and it works perfectly
lepa71 17th December 2008, 21:46 Does anybody know if poweroff switch still works? Thanks
:thanks:
martinisok 18th December 2008, 05:24 Got this all working apart from voice Whatever I choose, Jane or (samantha computer voice), it stops giving voice instructions after about a minute.
TTone third
Edit> Solved problem did a factory reset!
GilbertQC 18th December 2008, 12:27 I had checked that on way back and yet it still done nothing
Finally found the culprit in my case: «Say foreign street names» or very close to it. That made most street names being spoken. I guess TT thinks NA is exclusively English territory and French would definitively be a foreign language in NA. Quebec has had French as the official language for quite a while. I expectecd more from a European company... OTOH, in the x30 model language choices, there are 2 French Canadian computer voices.
cyberdragon 18th December 2008, 12:43 Hi, can someone help me here, i am going slightly mad.
Tomtom : One V2
Firmware : 5.5016
Nav : 8.204.9718
Maps : v810.1940
I have used a variety of the images, and am currently using the Lesram TTdONE_noVOC image with Western_Central_Europe_Map_2Gb-15 v810.1940 for which i used Easyusetools (I have the latest one on its way). I have added the appropriate voices fine, and changed the ogg file for shutdown to no on longer have the 'Shutdown sequence' supprising me.
The tomtom on its own works fine, the problem i am having is with Tomtom Home. I have patched the folder (I am using XP)
C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\XXXX.default\extensions\ Navcore.8.204.9718@tomtom.com
However when i start tomtom home i get the following message :-
ERROR: 573/#https://home.tomtom.com/account/setDevice: Error from server: You have an invalid version of the TomTom application installed on your TomTom device. To use HOME you need to install the correct version of the TomTom application.
I can ignore this and it allows me into tomtom home, i can opperate my tomtom one via the computer - it calls it a Tomtom 520 but that is fine and to be expected - it even sees my maps :)
However the issues are it can not see my maps on show the contents of my device, i get no mapshare options :(
I think that it is something to do with my ttgo.bif file - extract attached
[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom GO 520
DeviceVersionHW=GO 520
DeviceSerialNumber=XXXXXXXXXXX
DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXXXX
RamDiskVersion=20040301
BootLoaderVersion=10012
LinuxVersion=1000
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8204
ApplicationVersion=9718
UserLanguage=English UK
I did not have a ttgo.bak so i created one, and i still dont have a ttgo.ori - do i need one and if so what should it contain.
Any assistance appreciated as i have been going round the forum for days and have tried about 4 different images etc and dont seem to be getting anywhere :(
