Do you mean netgear 'wireless' router?

i believe a router can't remotely access your pc, unless a PC remotely accessing your pc.. Basic Router capabilities are, they can only give securities / restriction in accessing/ browsing such unrelated-office business sites, Monitor browsing sites and more. But If you are talking about monitoring 'screen' or 'desktop' i guess not.

Try to check My Computer > Properties > Remote Tab. You should see this.

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

If you wanted not to enable other users accessing your pc, uncheck it, if it is checked.

Another option is that maybe they have installed another program in your pc, so called - remote desktop softwares like Remote VNC and so on. Try to search other remote desktop softwares, and if you find 1 uninstall it.

hope this help. cheers ;)
