Ok, it seems a lot of people are having issues getting 8.204 in x40 emulation working on their Go x20 devices so I uploaded a dump of my Go 720 with Loquendo voices, but without maps or personal files.

Tested function.
x40 Emulation - Working
FM Tranmission - Music Only (no directions, this is not an option with this navcore)
IQ2 Routes - Working
ALG - Working
ASR - Working (Microphone icon on the nav screen for easy access)
Bluetooth - Working (Phone connection and handsfree)
MP3 playback - Working

Not Tested
Speed Cams - I live in US, not available here.
GPRS - I dont have an account
Postcode navigation - Again I live in US, not an issue here.
RDS-TMC - Also not widely available here in the States.

To use this simply download it from the link at the bottom, copy it to the root of your device/SD card, add your own maps and ttgo.bif file and run TTUser's easytools patch and reboot.

I included the LoquendoTTS files I have on my device as they are working well with the ASR. They are a mixture of x20 and x30 voices. You should be able to add your own voices from your device or download them through TomTom Home.

If you have a chance to test the Un-tested items above, please post and let us know if it is working. Also post if you are succesful installing this and what device you installed it on and what maps and voices you used. If this helps you, makes sure you are helpful to others and let them know what does and does not work and what you did to resolve it.

TT Go 720 --- App 8.300 Map 815.2019

I simply over-wrote my files with yours.

Then I did a pin re-set and my 720 booted properly. [and I seen all those fancy-schmancy icons] The 720 appeared to operate perfectly normal.

Turned off 720. Powered up 720.

Froze at the splash screen.

Ideas ?

[I]EDIT: did not do the following ---> "ttgo.bif file and run TTUser's easytools patch"

It does not show all the safety cameras like Navcore V8.10. Had the same problem with Navcore V8.30

Any thoughts?

Yes.
The same problem is in UK.
I think so, it's speed cameras problem, wchich are usually dedicated 4 one side of road.
When u will back on the same road U should see that camera...
Some cameras in UK service both ways of road and not allways ar shown on TT.... :afraid:

Sorry for not responding sooner to the posts here since it was my "dump" but I went on vacation and the wife insists that I include the computer in that...

As per the Bootloader. I am using 5.5022 on my 720. I dont think that is the issue. I am running this from an SD card and NOT from the internal memory, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

ChillyCat, did you try re-running the patch from TTUser? I actually copied this same dump to a 920 and ran the patch and it is working perfectly. However I did install fresh new maps to the device (SD card) I did not use anything that was previously on the device.

renmar, I have not tried the line out on this device setup, primarily cause I dont have a stereo with an AUX jack. My rental car this past week had the jack, but I did not have a cable to test it with. Sorry.

Thanks to Alex, always willing to help those not willing to search for themselves!

Tired both directions. Some cameras did not show in either direction under 8.204 but did show on earlier Navcores. A couple only showed in one direction when the camera actually monitors both sides of the road (and use to show in both directions under earlier Navcores). These ones had the camera on the far side of the road when you would think if it was only going to show in one direction then it would mostly likely be on the near side.

Tried the original V7 map that came with the 720 and it to had the same issue with 8.204. I also reloaded the orignal out of the box image and let Tom Tom Home upgrade to 8.30 (so no patches or cracks) and i got the same results as 8.204 so it must be an issue with the later Navcores in how they are reading the TomTom safety camera files.

You have to patch TomTom Home with the correct DLL. See the tutorial here... http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=302449

I've found a bug that I'm not sure if its just my tomtom or if its a bug in the software. If someone would be willing to give this a try and see if it works for you that would be great.

Press the microphone to initiate voice commands.
Say "Navigate to a recent destination"
it tells you to select one which you have to do manually.
And this is where the problem is. Instead of the usual "Planning fastest route" it just exits the screen and doesn't do anything..

Now, Navigate to a favorite works. its the same process but it works. Anyone else having this problem?

Found the problem.

If there is already a route set on my 720, then the "Navigate to a recent destination" works every time.

However if I have manually cleared the previous route. Then I get dumped out with "No route planned".

I don't typically drive around without a route listed, but sometimes if we are out touring the countryside and I just want to see the various roads ahead and speedtraps, etc, then I don't set a route.

So, I still wonder if the problem is only with this dump or if its actually a problem with the original tomtom software.

Few questions:

1) How to emulate x40?

2) What features does x40 emulation add? Compared to just replacing 8.204 ttsystem file?

Installed to my Go 720, and everything seems work fine. However, I do come across two problems.
1. The battery go out very fast. After one full charge (wall charge), it can be used slightly more than one hour continuously.
2. It reboots itself very often, say once every 15 minutes

Anyone has this problem or got an solution. Please advise.

What I did?
Copy the dump to a SD card.
Copy the ttgo.bif from my original Go 720 root to the SD root
Patch the map (North America 815.2019) with TTuser Easyusetools and copy the DCT file to the map folder
Put the SD card to Tomtom Go 720, and restart

Download the switchfiles.zip I linked below. Create a folder in the root of your device called Config. Copy the bton file from the zip file to your config folder.

As far as IQ2 routes, you have to have a map that supports this, see this chart to see if your maps do.

What kind of phone do you have? Not all phones are compatible with TomTom. Infact no Sprint phones are compatible (some Nextel's are compatible, but for Handsfree only). Go to the TomTom webpage and look up your device, also, if you havent already, connect your device to TomTom home and download the latest updates, there may be one for phone connections.

Thanks nofences-works a treat on my GO 920. As I want to keep my install as clean as possible I wondered if any of the items can be deleted such as outsouced.8204. I have also left the 3 different system files and assume I only need to leave the correct one for my existing bootloader although the unit still works OK. There are a few folders which are empty-can these be deleted?

If I can just keep the items it needs and delete any that are not used it would be great.

Any help will be appreciated.

I wondered if any of the items can be deleted such as outsouced.8204.

Outsourced.8204 can be deleted.

I have also left the 3 different system files and assume I only need to leave the correct one for my existing bootloader although the unit still works OK.

You can delete all 3 system files as well, if you want to change your bootloader version, simply rename the file to just system and reboot. Once the info is written to the bootloader you can delete the file. So the not so short answer is yes, you can delete them if you dont wish to change your bootloader version.

There are a few folders which are empty-can these be deleted?

This is a question I dont know the answer to, I would assume you need to keep all folders that come in the Basicpack which are, bin, ephem, gns, LoquendoTTS, mp3, photo, script, and text. All the others must be optional since TTUser didnt see fit to include them. However ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP! Then delete the ones you want to get rid of and see if your unit still boots!

Hope this helps!

For me to be able to greate a dump of this device, I would have to have this device to work with. I dont... therefore I cant make a dump of it. I own a Go 720 and a couple TT Ones, those are the only machines I have the ability to make a dump for.

Grard31 has posted a thorough tutorial on how to update your device here http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=322291. Try following his directions, his guides are normally very very good.

After trying all the navcores since nofences made this dump available for my 720, I keep comming back to this one. Everything works for me and it seems to find the satellites quicker. I am using the latest 8.25 map and bootloader 5.5106. Tripmaster and logpos, mp3 through FM, Bluetooth, the lot. I think this is brilliant and needs more promotion. Thanks again nofences.

I have installed this dump on my tt70, I took it for a spin, everything that I wanted is working such as FM, BT and ALG. However one thing is bothering me is when the unit voice gives the instructions, it stutters and the screen flickers at the same time if there is no insructions it is perfect, and also when you switch off it doesn't switch off, it goes to stand by which drains the battery out, Can we add a swith off button to the menu and how to do it? please.
