View Full Version : TomTom One Original v.1 (4N00.001) working dump with AUSv815.2057 map included
Trent L 21st December 2008, 03:33 For anyone who wants it, please find attached my working dump for a TomTom One v.1 (4N00.001) known as the TomTom One original.
There is plenty of stuff on the threads that works for a variety of devices but it can tend to be a bit confusing. If you have a TT1v.1 and want to get it working simply and easily then feel free to use this.
I have this on a 2Gb SD card. It is Navcore 8.204 running LoquendoTTS (big computer voices from a TT910 EnglishUK), with IQ Routes and lane guidance works if you have the correct v815 maps. I have included the Australia v815.2057 map but just replace the map folder with anyone you chose. Suntime also works but can be a bit fiddly. You will have to change the GMT time offset depending where you live.
Needless to say, you will have to run Easyusetools to generate a DCT file for the maps on your device.
144Mb in size - my SD card with LoquendoTTS folders incl v815.2057 & Mapshare updates (note some of the files for Simon & Kate removed to reduce size)

Below are the links to EnglishUK Kate + EnglishUK Simon computer voices from a thread by Russell1
English UK Kate - 290Mb
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
English UK Simon - 271Mb
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
The below link is a list of the files from the above language download that you need to put back into the Simon & Kate folders that it can work:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
If you want to use this for a TT1XL or TT1v.2 it will work but not with LoquendoTTS voices. You will need to download the VocalizerTTS voices and include the XLS switch in the root directory.
This a compilation of files provided by many users including TTuser, lessram, etc - so they deserve all the credit.
Good luck.
khandu 21st December 2008, 14:15 please update all rapidshare links.. they are dead
also if u can answer my other Q's at [Only registered and activated users can see links] it would be great

Trent L 23rd December 2008, 05:18 Pleased it worked for you and thanks for the reps skinz.
I never tried Navigate To - Postcode with my TT1v.1. i thought postcode search was only available on some maps and not the Australian ones. Now I have tried it, I find my TT freezes just like yours. At least everything else works :goodluck:
constipated 23rd December 2008, 10:53 Trent L you are the King.
This makes it so much easier. I'm very lucky to have a tomtom original too but mine is 4N00.003 but works fine.
I was fiddling endlessly and it wasn't working. Your post is a 1 step solution.
Eternal thanks.

constipated 23rd December 2008, 11:41 One more thing Trent L. Have you managed to get mapshare to work on this dump.
When I try to update my ONE. It says I have an invalid version of the TomTom application installed on your TomTOm device.
Go any ideas

When I try to update my ONE. It says I have an invalid version of the TomTom application installed on your TomTOm device.

Yes MapShare works. I found that I had to upgrade to a later version of TTHome 2.5 To make sure I had a clean install, I uninstalled the previous version and cleared out all the crap in the Program & Application Data folders.
Install the new version and then plug in your TT.
Ignore any offer to update your Navcore.
Go to Operate My Go and it will ask to download a file so that it can emulate your device.
Once the file is downloaded, shut down TTHome and then apply the cracked TTHome dll file for your Navcore version 8.204 which you can find on this forum.
The path should be something like this.
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Profile Name\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\bkkwljau or similar.default\extensions
When it comes up with the error message just click OK and it will continue to download updates.
Cheers.

asidfreak 24th December 2008, 02:56 If you want to use this for a TT1XL or TT1v.2 it will work but not with LoquendoTTS voices. You will need to download the VocalizerTTS voices and include the XLS switch in the root directory.
Just curious, will this work with Tomtom One v4?
Trent L 24th December 2008, 07:31 It should work on the TT1v.4 - however, I think you would have to delete the LoquendoTTS folder and replace it with VocalizerTTS. It may also need the XLS switch.
I only ever intended this dump for people with older TT1's that might have had trouble interpreting the hard (but often technical) work of TTuser, etc. This is just a combination of their work that functions on my TT Device.
Try it - but before you do just make sure to do a complete backup of your TT1v.4 device by copying all files and folders into a backup folder on you PC. If it goes pear shaped you can then just revert to your original version.
Let us know how you go. Once again all credit to TTuser, lessram, heman, etc.
nils16 24th December 2008, 13:11 Hello
Thank You very much for this package.
I installed that on my old V1. Then I installed: LoquendoTTS German Katrin. And added the WEC 815.2003 Map.
But TTS works slow. It lags very much when he must calulate the voice i think.
Its that normal?

skinz 24th December 2008, 13:38 Guys thanks for everything i now have my original fat tomtom working perfect. Mapshare, IQroutes, Lane Guidance and this mornign the voices now work too YES everything works now that needed.. i deleted the LoquendoTTS folder and the MP3 folder and installed the VocalizerTTS folder i found on this forumn. however i am going to try and put the MP3 folder back on to see if it still works.
Once again all credit to Trent L, TTuser, lessram, heman, etc
Thanks you all.. MERRY CHRISTMAS. you all:yourock:

Glad it works for you.
As far as being slow with recalculating routes - it's just you guys drive twice as fast as we do in Australia ...... :hahaha2: Or maybe it's just taking its time interpreting German ......
Our maps are only 113Mb or smaller - so perhaps doing everything it has to do, together with a much larger map database is an issue. LoquendoTTS also demands a lot from the old TT1v.1 and seems to suck the life out of it.
It would be interesting to know how much free RAM you have after everything is loaded.
Although LoquendoTTS sounds better than VocalizerTTS, perhaps it will run faster using the VocalizerTTS.
Cheers.

When it say: "Turn Left, then Turn right" such thinks works fine.
I have 1.8MB Free RAM.
About 11MB Free on 2GB SD Card.

Is the map you are using the 'lite' version or the large database?
Only thing I can suggest is perhaps deactivating some POI's that you don not need displayed as they must use RAM or alternately, invest in a higher speed SD card i.e. Sandisk Ultra II.
Good luck.

Use a smaller 815.2003 Map like "ALPS"
Use a SDHC Card who is faster.
Thank You for your help!

Delete the LoquendoTTS folder and replace it with the VocalizerTTS folder.
I am uploading a 47Mb dump from a VocalizerTTS folder containing US Samantha and US Tom but Rapidshare is taking its time. I will post a link in this thread tomorrow - but for now its time to sort the Christmas things out for the kids. Ciao.

It depends on which version Bootloader you are running.
Search the forum for the thread that discusses the different versions of Bootloader available that will read SDHC cards.

Did you set the voice options pane 1 to 'Read aloud street names, Read aloud road numbers, Read aloud traffic warnings, Read aloud POI warnings? Pane 2 set Read aloud warnings and Read aloud signposts.
Seems to work for everyone else.

DeanOZ,
I honestly don't know but have my doubts. I only set this thread for poor sods like me with old fat TT1v.1 PNA's who were trying to ring the most out of them - not for PDA devices.
Why not give it a try and let us know ...... but make a complete backup first so you don't crash and burn your device.

Its all working now - just need to get Tomtom Home Working!
durden 28th December 2008, 00:52 trentl. thx for this. i've got it working - but without TTS on my TT1v2.
app 8.204, a v8 map, 8.1Mb free - Vocalizer installed, but TTS just doesn't work.
i had working TTS using Vocalizer on App 8.10 (before i tried this update) but this app version no such luck.
if i test a computer voice, it sounds and reads fine but then no other sounds work (life safety warnings) and on the road the whole system goes silent. is there a something i am missing somewhere?
there is a model.txt file in the root.
if i have xls in this file, or file blank - makes no difference.
config folder has
bton
model.txt (with X40 in the file)
thats all.
i didnt put model.txt in config could this be causing the problem? any guidance accepted! TIA

durden,
I had LoquendoTTS working on a friends TT1v.2 with Navcore 8.010, but was unable to get it to run on this application - so I moved them to VocalizerTTS. It was running fine with no config folder and had the xls switch and ttson switch sitting in on SD card root directory.
How about trying it with the following files in the Config folder - bton, chagedtext, model, rm and runclean.
durden 28th December 2008, 01:40 thx TrentL. will give this a try.
i've never had Loquendo work, but Vocalizer was worked...
are all these files just the names only (no extensions) and i assume blank files?
and should model.txt just be model with no extension

durden 28th December 2008, 01:53 no luck. :afraid:
deleted model.txt from root
deleted mp3 folder (earlier in this thread mentions deleting it)

again, TTS speech voices work fine when i test - but safety alerts (like speeding) play no sound and whole unit goes silent

Trent L 30th December 2008, 04:55 skinz,
I use a 2Gb Sandisk 2 in the wife's TT1 and a 4Gb hi-speed multi purpose card in mine.
Depending on the Bootloader used, I believe you can run up to 8Gb SDHC cards (which is gr8 for seasoned travelers) - but you will have to search that info out on a different thread.
Just beware that if you stuff up whilst upgrading your Bootloader, you can 'brick' the device and it will go to TT heaven. Read the threads to find the best version of Bootloader that does what you want and ensure the TT1 is fully charged prior to starting the process. You don't want it running out of power mid way through or you will kill it until a newer version of Bootloader is released - which doesn't happen often for older devices.

Trent L 2nd January 2009, 09:35 If i have ttsvoices but in french; like bernard....what can i do ?
Alibababa the VocalizerTTS.rar I have provided simply dumps straight onto the SD card. You would just have to dump your Bernard files into this folder and your device should be able to 'see' all three voices.
lancey 3rd January 2009, 08:08 Trent.
Will this dump work with my go910.
I have been trying to put Navcore 8.204 on my 910 but seems to fail every time, screen freezes at startup.
Currently using Nav 8.051, but cannot get home to work.
Trent L 3rd January 2009, 12:50 Lancey,
I don't have a TT910 so I've never tried it. I suspect that it will work, even with LoquendoTTS but you might have to modify some files.
Cajun0_0 in another thread has suggested that in the config folder the model.txt and the config.txt files would have to be changed (probably to x40). Also some of the BMP files for antitheft, lowbattery and suspend may have to be in 'Picture & Fax Viewer' and rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise and saved.
If you can get it to fire up but have problems with TTS, then delete the LoquendoTTS folder and replace it with the VocalizerTTS folder.
Back up your device first and let me know how you go. I only ever did this for the TT1v.1 original users - but some TT1v.2 and TT1XLS guys have had some success.
Alternately and a safer bet, go to this thread where the guy got his TT910 working with Navcore 8.204

Trent L 5th January 2009, 10:10 DeanOz,
Looks like you've got VocalizerTTS as a sub directory of LoquendoTTS and separately as a folder with some LoquendoTTS files within it.
Delete the LoquendoTTS folder completely.
Have a VocalizerTTS folder and attached is a list of the folders/files that should be in the VocalizerTTS directory to provide computer voices for Tom and Samantha.
I uploaded and included the VocalizerTTS folder in an earlier post on this thread. [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Simply extract that archive straight onto your SD card and it should create the VocalizerTTS folder for you on the root of the SD card.

Hi DeanOZ,
Delete your LoquendoTTS and VocalizerTTS folders from your SD card.
Extract the VocalizerTTS.rar straight to your SD card and that should crate a new folder on your SD root called VocalizerTTS.
crazy1716 5th January 2009, 11:13 Hello DeanOZ,
I have Tomtom one 3rd edition GPS(4N01.003) which i had bought and used in USA. recently moved to Australia. GPS does not have external memory (1GB internal memory).

if you start with the 1st post in this thread and follow the steps from trentL but install to your internal memory rather than SD card (since you have no SD) you should be fine. just backup your tomtom first!

I have this on a 2Gb SD card. It is Navcore 8.204 running LoquendoTTS (big computer voices from a TT910 EnglishUK), with IQ Routes and lane guidance works if you have the correct v815 maps. You will have to change the GMT time offset depending where you live.

ttnavigator.bif
Your file called ttgo.bak should have the extension (.txt) removed.
Somehow, you have dropped your new map into a Folder called TomTom
Cut the map folder called Australia_815_2057 out and paste it to the SD card root directory - then you can delete the empty folder called TomTom.
The Art folder should have a sub directory called Cars, so you can change the arrow icon.
I can't see what you have in either your Bin or Config folders.
Like I said. It might be easier to just format your SD card and follow the first post by extracting the dump.rar onto your SD card. If you do that then simply delete the LoquendoTTS directory and then extract the VocalizerTTS.rar onto your SD card and you should be away.

Dean,
Am I going blind or something? I can't recall seeing anywhere that you were trying to get this running on a Tevion Windows CE Device. This build was only ever designed for a TomTom PDA device. No wonder you've been having dramas.
DeanOZ 5th January 2009, 15:33 Sorry mate!
I imagined I mentioned it earlier in the thread!
But the good news is the release does work, with a exchanged .exe.
Now all I need is TomTom Home and TTS.
One day....
crazy1716 5th January 2009, 17:35 if you start with the 1st post in this thread and follow the steps from trentL but install to your internal memory rather than SD card (since you have no SD) you should be fine. just backup your tomtom first!
I spent around 6 hours and got errormessage:
You can't use this map on this device: Australia.
Can you pl tell me what to do now?
Thanks in advance

You're nearly there, last step is that "you will have to run Easyusetools to generate a DCT file for the maps on your device." I.e. download latest "Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher", extract on a windows box, plug in tomtom via usb, run "RunMeforDCT.cmd", follow the prompts, eject/unplug the device, turn it off/on, and then you should be able to use that map on your device.
Download link for Easyusetools: [Only registered and activated users can see links]
snookums2 6th January 2009, 04:36 Thank you for posting this! Can report that it works on a TomTom One V3 (4N01.000) too! It even has the right map, and it's the first time I've got TTS, or IQ routes, or the lane screens (most of the other instructions I have found seemed too daunting for me to even attempt!).
Couple of small tweaks:
* Renamed the "suspend.ogg" file to "suspend.ogg.skip" to stop the "initiating shutdown sequence" sound. A bit too gimmicky and annoying for my liking - sorry!
* To get TTS, had to delete the LoquendoTTS folder and add the VocalizerTTS folder, as the device does not enough space to have the TrentL image + the LoquendoTTS Kate voices (the Aus Onev3 only has 512 Mb internal space and is not expandable).
* Tried changing model.txt to xls, but this just caused an endless reboot cycle. Leaving it as "x40" seemed to work fine.
Some questions I had, if anyone has any suggestions or things to try for any of them:
* Is there a way to reduce the volume? It's really really loud! E.g. the 10% volume now is as loud as the 70% volume was before, and sometimes I just want it to speak softly. Is there some way to recalibrate the volume slider to not be so loud?
* Is there a way to get the UK Kate voice with TTS in 512 Mb or less? The only 2 choices with VocalizerTTS for a computer voice which could do TTS were a male and a female American voice, which are not quite as pleasant to my ear.
* Any way to convert my old V7 map favorites to work on this image, or should I just recreate them? Copying over the old mapsettings.cfg file did not seem to work.
* The old v7 navcore had a limit of 30 or 40 favorites, after which it would say "too may favorites!". (It seemed always seemed dumb to me to allow millions of POIs, but only a handful of favorites.) Does anyone know if this new navcore increases this limit?
A big thank you for Trent L, TTuser, BiggerDave, and all of the helpful people in this forum who have made this possible!

snookums2,
That Navcore appears to have been written to increase the volume output. I noticed a similar jump (though not as significant). I am unaware of any way of reducing the volume output apart from the slider.
I don't believe LoquendoTTS will work with your device. There are however six VocalizerTTS voices that can be used and there are English language options. I only uploaded two that happened to be Yanks - for others who needed them but didn't know what the VocalizerTTS folder structure should look like. Search the threads and you will find more voices. Download the extra enu files and place them into the VocalizerTTS folder.
You cannot transfer your old MapSetting.cfg between Versions. Suggest that if you still have a saved copy of your old Map folder that you pop onto the TT and create your Favourites as a POI file. That can be taken directly over to the new map. Alteranetely, you can try to open the MapSetting.cfg file with POIEdit and pick the locations out of it to make a POI called 'Favourites'.
I don't know what the new limit is for showing POI's - but it seems that the more you are showing the more memory is being used and it will potentially slow your device right down.

Sorry to disappoint but postcode isn't an option in AUS.
For speed cameras, go to the Speed Camera sticky on the first page of the forum by The Maverick [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Download the Radars.rar and Meta.rar files.
Extract the Safety_Cam_AU_TomTom.ov2 and ver files and place them in your Map folder of your device and also in the Insert_meta_from_Map_here folder with Easyusetools folder.
Extract the Meta file and replace the meta file in your Easyusetools folder.
Then just RunMeforDCT and after the new DCT file is generated for Safety_Cam_AU_TomTOm.dct copy that into your Map folder of your device.
Do not expect to see another POI category called Safety Cam AU TomTom that you set up with warning sounds as per other POI's.
These Camera files work with the maps poi.dat file and will appear automatically. To test it just plan a route that you know runs past a camera and run the demo to see if it displays.
julesbloke 6th January 2009, 19:37 FYI TrentL - thanks!
Just copied the dump to a new SD card (1gb) and put it in my wife's TT1 Original (the boxy black one), added the Loquento TTS files you recommended, UK & ROI map 8.15.2003 (easy tooled to activate) and it all works perfectly! Didn't need a new bootloader or anything else.
IQ routes work, Loquento works, and I assume Lane Assist works as I have the option (but will test when out tomorrow :) ). It shows as having 7mb RAM free, not noticed any slow downs :D

julesbloke 7th January 2009, 18:47 Probably a silly question, but I can't find way to turn the TomTom camera warnings off. I have installed the Pocket GPS camera database with custom .ogg files and use that for my speed cameras, but I also get warned about speed cameras by TomTom.
I can't find an option to disable the inbuilt camera database. Do I just delete the "saftey_cam" poi files in the map folder to get rid of them? Thanks.

You cannot disable the Safety_Cam_AU_TomTom POI's unless you delete them. Unlike other POI's you can download where you can set up warning sounds & distance, these are preset and seem to work like the other standard POI's in the poi.dat file.

It's going to be a mighty big torrent and pretty slow to as I doubt there will be many seeders. At the end of the day - short of spoon feeding people it can't get much simpler than this.
If you do decide to upload to a torrent get rid of:-
MapSettings.cfg
dct files in any map folders
Amend the following to remove serial no. and device code:
ttgo.bif
ttgo.bak
ttgo.ori

Hi Trendl, Thank you for replying. I downloaded the files as you said but it didn't work. However I tried to change the model text inside the config to ori which is original and the voices sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. It works i follow this procedure .First i select jane uk which is not a computer voice, then , a please note message pops up to inform me that this is a recorded human voices and also asks if i want to change to computer voice. i press yes. From there onwards everthing works fine even when i select Volume preferences (ie volume loydness) which in previous occasion didn't work also.
am I doing something wrong. I wish I can keep your the one you had posted here.

My wife's TT1 Original v1 worked perfectly by following the instructions. Are you sure you downloaded and unzipped the correct Loquendo files into the correct folder? There's a link to a word document on TrentL's first post that shows you where the voice files go.
Failing that, I have now installed this dump on my TT1 3rd Edition (no SD card). That will not run Loqendo (well documented in other posts!!!!), but I replaced it with VocaliserTTS and it also works. I did lose all sound, but I pressed the reset button with a pin and let it boot up again and now it works fine.
If you're sure you have everything in the correct folder, it may be worth resetting the device?!?!?
molla 8th January 2009, 19:35 Thanks julesbloke, however i still have the same problem. thank you just the same
lonewolf77 9th January 2009, 08:06 I got the dump and its working alright, occasional lags or very rare crashes. I have also put on the vocaliser TTS and the "better" map 815 2086 )it has iq2 routes etc. Anyway i havent been able to get suntime to work but thats not a big deal.
The problem i have been having ever since i put this dump on (old map and new) is that the TT doesnt seem to turn on until i eject and put the SD card back in, then it turns on and is fine till the next time i shut down. Then it may or may not turn on again till i eject and insert back the SD card. Any reason for that, any way to fix it? IF it has been shut down for a while then it definitely wont turn back on unless i eject and reinsert the SD card. Do i have to get a faster / better SD card? Mine is quite old i think and only a 256mb card. I have about 5.5mb RAM free TT Memory (once the TT has started) and about 40mbs free on the SD card.
BTW its a TT One v2 (4N00.012). I am not sure whats the largest / Best SD card it can take but it can probably take at least 512mb or 1 gigabyte? Also the emu file is x40 i think, not xls, it worked on X40 so i never changed it (its on the default that came with the dump).
durden 9th January 2009, 08:26 lonewolf. i'm running a 2GB new SD card without problems in a tt1v2

Try deleting the bootloader - the file called "system" in the root folder. That stopped the language screen on my friends Go300. It's only needed once to flash the firmware as far as I know, after that it get's ignored.

It's been covered a few times, but not all maps support lane guidance. I know the UK and ROI 815.2024 does not but the 815.2003 map does have lane guidance and IQ routes. Presumably there's a France 815.2003??? Try that instead.

I also just properly tested it with the new map 815 2086. After about 1 minute all sound stops working with it. Yep. You missed something all right.
As it says in Post #1. Simply download the dump and extract it onto an empty SD card. To get the LoquendoTTS voices download Kate &/or Simon. Those files simply need to be dropped into the respective folder on the SD card called LoquendoTTS. There is even a little downloadable guide to show the file structure - to make sure you have put the language packs into the correct place.
Can't make it much simpler than that - unless you want to download jw1976's torrent - so you get it all in one dump with nothing to do (except waiting forever for it to download) ......
Of course being a Scotsman ...... you might not want to spend your download limit on that
the_scotsman 14th January 2009, 11:02 lol...:hahaha2:
Thanks for the help...Just wantt o make sure I get it right first time.
Loquendo = TextToSpeech? If I don't need TTS do I just extract the dump the the SD card and that's it?
Can I use normal voice files as per other TT systems?
Is there a reset or something I need to do to get the new Navcore loaded onto the unit?

I like Text To Speech for my bride who gets confused by distance. It is much easier for her to hear, "In 800 metres turn left Smith Street" so she can look for a signpost rather trying to estimate 800 metres or worse still, taking her eyes off the road to watch the lane guidance.
If you don't want TTS then delete the LoquendoTTS folder and don't download Simon & Kate.
You will however need a folder called Voices which should already be on your old SD card - so simply copy that over. Alternately, download some human voices or celebrity voices from this site or TTHome and put them into the Voices folder ........ they just won't read street names.:good2:
the_scotsman 14th January 2009, 11:14 Ok thanks...that does actually sound pretty good!
So is there a process to update the unit itself? Do I need to reset or anything before putting the SD in?

Just set your SD card up (using a card reader is the best way), drop your map on (unless you need Australia). Run the Easyusetools patching program to generate the DCT file for your device. Pop the card in and turn it on. I would shut it down and restart it a couple of times so it can write your ttgo.bif and ttgo.bak files but that's about it. You will also have to set up your POI warnings but you should be across that.
the_scotsman 14th January 2009, 11:23 Ok thanks. So how does this actually work? Does it somehow "flash" the TT unit with the new Navcore? Or does it run the new Navcore from the SD card?
:thanks:

:thanks:
TTUser & cohorts are the guru's on this stuff.
In laymen's terms (best describes me) the updated Navcore runs off the Sd card and is in effect the ttsystem file and other files & folders on the SD card. The only thing that is 'flashed' onto the device memory is the Bootloader version which allows you to use higher capacity SDHC cards and does things with the GPS interface, etc. If things are going pear shaped, there is a ClearFlash tool that lets you purge the memory but it will not clear the Bootloader .... so don't play around with the Bootloader version unless you carefully read all about it in the threads (otherwise you can brick your device) then if you do - ensure it is fully charged first.

staid 25th January 2009, 01:04 BlueTooth working with ONE v1? Buddies/weather?
Unfortanately Bluetooth still doesn't work when using Buddies or Weather service - You can connect Your phone with ONE v1, but when trying to use those two services, it just kicks You back to main screen. :afraid:
Phone I used for testing was Nokia N82.
Seems like there is no solution for "x40 mode" navcore than works ok with BlueTooth, at least when using ONE v1.

Now he can spend the dosh on my new Granddaughter instead ;-)

danielpop 26th January 2009, 10:47 @Trent L: thanks for your dump. It works on TTOne as expected, except for LoquendoTTS. Maybe not the same version of TTOne. But, Vocalizer it's ok.
Can you please tell me what suntime application is doing? It freezes my TTOne and I'm curious to know what is this for to see whether I'll dig deeper for it ;) Many thanks!

LoquendoTTS only seems to work with the original 'fat' TT1. For TT1v.2 and later VocalizerTTS is the go.
Suntime is a nice little program that switches between day & night displays automatically at sunset and sunrise. You need to go into the config.txt file within the Suntime folder and change to GMT offset time to the zone you live in. In Sydney at the moment it is +10hrs (because of dalight savings) but normally is +9hrs.
Problem is that Suntime was never designed to be used with these later Navcores. Although the icon lets you start the application, if you try to re-access the application whilst it is running it turns the screen turns to garbage and you need to do a reset to fire up the TomTom again.
Suggest you set your GMT offset and then start the device. Change the display to the relevant night or day mode. Shut down then turn the device back on. It should swap automatically for you and you can test it by changing to night mode (if its daytime) and after a minute or so it switches back to day mode. More info can be found at a site called [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Don't try Tripmaster as is makes the device too sluggish and it stalls.
Also found today that it you copy bton file to the root that bluetooth will work, albeit takes a long time for the device and a phone to 'pair' with each other.

That's exactly what happen to my device. Now, I know what I did wrong ;) Thanks for clarification. Anyway, to protect against this kind of accidental damages, you can remove the icon from the menu by deleting the suntime file from the sdkregistry folder. This won't prevent the application running as expected as it's started-up via cleanup.txt file. I never tried this, but it should be so.
Anyway, I have the feeling that Navcore 8.300/8.320 is coming with this feature by default, but I'm not 100%. I have preformed several tests with several navcores on several TT Ones and I noticed once this feature.
nieuweuser 26th January 2009, 21:42 Hallo,
Thank you " Trent L" it likes to be great one ? I installed it on ( TomTom one - 4N00 003 ) OK, and I installed Western_Europe_1GB_815_2024 and activated OK !!!
But have big broblem? The unit goes out when I need to give a destination place or to change voices or.... also some times when I use MP3 player?
Its great program but I cannot use it?
Is the problem is from my unit limitation? Is navcor 8.15 is too much for my unit? Because with TomTom home I get only 7.903 version? And with this version I cannot activate Western_Europe_1GB_815_2024 maps?
I tested more than one SD card? Same problem.
Who can help to solve the problem?
Thank you all
mailtoleo 27th January 2009, 03:00 For anyone who wants it, please find attached my working dump for a TomTom One v.1 (4N00.001) known as the TomTom One original.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Good luck.
It works mate, but do you know where I can find my fav location folder in my old map?

nieuweuse,
This is Navcore 8.204 and it will run v815 maps without any problems.
You just need to replace the map folder with your map and using Easyusetools generate a DCT for your map.
You may have to change the keyboard setting to 'small qwerty' as some other people had problems when inputting an address and this solved it.
There are compatibility problems with some maps not running with the Navcore 7.903.
Try changing your keyboard settings.
nieuweuser 31st January 2009, 13:29 Hallo Trent L ,

Allthing OK now, the problems are solved ( restarting or freezing when changing sounds or intering postcode ...).. all are solved after changing the keyboard as you said.

SL00 31st January 2009, 21:35 Great job Trent L !
for my One (4N00.003 - v.1 or v.2 ? I'm not sure wich is mine), so far, here's what I know, using map Iberia v815.2024:
frezes: none so far.
vocalizerTTS: works great.
audio: computer and human voices are ok, however volume setting at minimum (10%) is to high. Is there any way to lower it ?
IQ routes: I don't know as I don't understand what are they for and how they work.
Advance Lane Guidance: I had this once I my first NC8 (8.010), but then I could swicth an option in the settings menu, I think it's "show lane pictures" or something like that. In this NC 8.204 that option is greyed out with an "activated" mark on it. So I don't know if I have ALG working.
Bluetooth: this is the trickyest one... I'm able to pair it with my cellphone (Nokia E66) and after that, connections remains unstable. Also It's impossible to set a wireless data connection, and when chosing "tomtom weather" and "tomtom buddies" it kicks back to main screen (map).
Anyone having bluetooth options and settings working proplerly with this navcore 8.204 ?
cheers

Hi,
From the outset, this Navcore 8.204 is a product of TTuser. I just used stuff from TTuser, lessram and others to get something that worked for me on my TT1 original (fat model) & simply uploaded an SD card dump to make it easier for the dummies like myself.
Yes the volume setting is much higher in this Navcore and that suits me - but I don't know how to adjust it apart from the volume control. Perhaps read other posts associated with navcore 8.204
IQ routes and ALG are not available on all map versions. There is also IQ1 & IQ2. IQ routes simply takes into consideration the time of day or if it is a weekday or weekend to 'plan' its routes and minimise delays. Even if you have programmed a route, it will look for faster routing as you drive e.g. if stuck in traffic jam and will give you verbal updates if you are on the fastest route and it can't come up with a better alternative.
ALG shows a display of available lanes in the bottom of the display indicating the best lane to be in. On the map it also shows a blue arrow indicating which lane to follow on your route.
I moved the bton switch from the Config folder onto the root of the SD card and this improved 'bluetooth' connection. I don't use it here in Australia so can't be much help to you - but there might be info in another thread about Navcore 8.204
Hope this info helps.

Hi, Trent L
regarding ALG that blue arrow apears on a "drawing" picture smiliar to a highway, witch does not fit "our" TT1 becouse it's in a 19:9 (widscreen) format size, and TT1 is an old 4:3 size, am I right ?
about bluetooth, if I move bton switch to the root of SD card it doesn't detect any type of bt device, it gives an error message saying bt device is off.
I'll check other threads if there's a solution to make bt working properly
thanks for the info

It's not the good map for TT1. You have to use 815 2024.

hi julesbloke,
but i heard that it was dangerous to update the bootloader.:suicide:
Which bootloader do you have? and it takes how much time to update it? i often heard that the battery must be fully charged before attempting this kind of operation.
Do you have a TTone V1 too?
Thx for your answers :thanks:
julesbloke 5th February 2009, 20:50 It's like updating the firmware on anything. If it goes wrong, the worst case scenario is it kills the device! If you do it properly, then the risk of problems is minimal.
The only reason it says fully charge the TomTom is that if the battery goes flat during the udate, it will go wrong.
I have installed bootloader 5.5022 on a TomTom One Original, TomTom One 3rd Edition and a TomTom Go 300. It worked perfectly everytime.
Put the new bootloader file on your TomTom, start it up and wait. The update takes about 30 seconds then it'll restart. All done. Very easy :D

Thanks for you answer. Another way to avoid having flat battery during the update is to plug the TT on a power point.
The updating of the bootloader doesn't cause collateral damage?

hajaray,
Updating the Bootloader does not create an issue - if it is not interrupted through the process. Hence the need to ensure your battery is fully charged. The main benefit of updating the Bootloader is that it will read more types of SD card ie.e. SDHC. It also does some magic business with the GPS firmware.

Sorry if it wasn't mentioned through the thread, but the MapSettings.cfg file between Navcore versions is sometimes incompatible. If you still have your old MapSettings.cfg file you can open it with POIEdit to extract your old Favourites and make them into a POI to make it easier to move them across.

"To update the bootloader simply copy the file named system to the root of your internal memory/or SD/or HD of TT then switch off and reboot". The complete thread is here :[Only registered and activated users can see links]

I have now installed everything and it really works fine (firmware 5.5106 is effectively installed); my old one v1 is nearly like the devices which are in the shops!
It's great.
I have not checked that the line guidance is working as I have no map v2003 yet.

### depends on which country your map folder covers. e.g. in Australia it is cspeech_AUS.dat
You can create a fake empty file in Notepad with no contents just call it that name and place it in the folder (replae ### with your country map abbreviation).
crappymate 1st April 2009, 06:46 hi Trent,

since i live in Australia now, i want to use with Australian maps.

crappymate
Trent L 1st April 2009, 07:03 crappymate,
Australia_V815_2059 with meta 21 (non IQ routes) definitely works on a TT1XL and is coming out as the standard on locally released models.
My recollection is the 2057 will also work (has IQ) but 2086 is a no go.
No V825 maps have not been released in Australia yet.
Lar_Balette 3rd April 2009, 23:26 Hi Trent L
I have tried with map of France 815.2003 (I am French) and western & central Europe 815.2003. I have boot 5.5106.
Yes, I have the files you mention. The size of these files is quite big (55.5 Mo for French map). Should I delete it and replace with an empty one ?
I see that I have only 1.1 Mo of free memory (out of 32 Mo), can it be the cause of the trouble ?
Trent L 4th April 2009, 02:49 Lar_Balette
If you have the correct cspeech file for the map it shouldn't matter. Most likely issue is your free memory.
My TT1 original (fat model) is showing .....
App 8.204 (9718/081105) OS: 244890
32MB RAM (free: 5.6Mb)
GPS v1.20, Boot 5.5022
Are you definitley running the Outsourcedbin to save RAM? Is it coming up with the message "Run in RAM save mode" on startup?
Lar_Balette 4th April 2009, 11:30 Trent,
Mine (the same as yours -4N00.001-) is showing :
App 8.203 (9717/081021) OS: 244890
32 Mo RAM (1.1 Mo free)
GPS v1.20, Boot 5.5106
I have no message on startup.
Trent L 4th April 2009, 12:29 Do you have an Outsourcedbin folder?
Your App is different and you are running a different Bootloader.
Lar_Balette 4th April 2009, 23:54 No, I haven't such folder
Trent L 5th April 2009, 07:45 There is an Outsourcedbin folder in the SD dump.
Why don't you backup your SD card. Format it and start again by extracting my dump onto your card. Sort out the LoquendoTTS voices. Delete my map folder and just copy your map back onto the SD card from your backup.
Lar_Balette 5th April 2009, 12:57 Ok,
In fact I think I had installed the Se navcore instead of your dump.
I have now
App 8.204 (9718/081105) OS: 244890
32Mo RAM (free: 7.8Mb)
GPS v1.20, Boot 5.5106
I am going to try a small trip to check if everything is right now.
Thanks
Lar_Balette 8th April 2009, 00:18 Hello,
I have tried it, it looks quite fine except one thing : computer voices don't work, why do mean by "sort out TTS LOQUENDO voices" ? Other voices work well. I have added French computer voices.
The loquendoTTS has now the following folders :
bin, data, lib, EnglishGb and EnglishTe
Thanks
Trent L 8th April 2009, 17:42 Lar_Balette,
The whole purpose of this dump was to get my TT1v.1 working with the new maps and to run LoquendoTTS computer voices. Because the 'whole' dump would have been too big, I separated to English voices for Kate & Simon.
The file attachment was to show the file structure after the language files has been downloaded separately.
If you don't want LoquendoTTS voices then delete the folder and just use the VocalizerTTS folder. If you do want the LoquendoTTS voices then you need to download the language files from Russell1 post.
Hope this helps and has solved all your problems.
If you want bluetooth to work then you will also need to copy the bton file out of the config folder and place it on the root of the SD card. You will also need the phonedatabase folder.
Cheers.
phuongphong 10th April 2009, 10:35 constipated,
I have tt1v1 orginal model 4N00.003 too, but it keeps saying you cannot use this map :( could you please show me how to make it work ? Thanks alot !
Trent L 10th April 2009, 16:16 You still need to generate a DCT file for your map (which is unique to your device based on the Device Code). Look here.

Glad it worked for you and all is good. My only issue is that the sound is a bit loud - but hey, I run it at 45% and everything else works fine.
Cheers.
phuongphong 21st April 2009, 11:24 Trent L,
Everything is working okay! except the computer voice TTS is not working :( I can choose it from voice preferences but there is no sound at all ! Am I missing something or I need to set up something ? My Tomtom One Original v.1 (4N00.002).

Did you download the file list in the original post to check your file structure?
The below link is a list of the files from the above language download that you need to put back into the Simon & Kate folders that it can work:

If you want to use this for a TT1XL or TT1v.2 it will work but not with LoquendoTTS voices. You will need to download the VocalizerTTS voices and include the XLS switch in the root directory.
