Guys

I've got a TomTom 910 which I would like to revert back to factory spec (firmware, factory standard images, voices etc etc etc). Yes I'm an idiot as I didn't create a backup or anything. I'm currently running Navcore 8.30 and V815 Europe Map.

I'm going to pass this unit onto my father and would like it back to factory firmare and spec. I'm not sure how to do it though .

I thought about if anyone has a standard untouched TomTom 910, would it be possible if I copied all files from their Tomtom 910 and copied it onto mine?

Obviously, I'll be using my own ttgo.bif which will have my serial number and all the stuff that relates to my tomtom so the other person wouldn't need to supply that info.

Would this work or is there another way?

Please help! Thanks in advance.

Main reason really is to make a backup of the original firmware. As I said earlier, I'm running Navcore 8.30 and I just want to revert the unit back to original state before passing it onto my father.

It also means he can connect it to tomtom home and have all the updates available to him without messing about with anything.

Upgrading to Navcore 8.30 was easy enough but downgrading back to orginal state seems like a no no.

Why? Can someone help me revert my 910 back to orginal spec?

Thanks

delete all from navcore 8.3 or only ttgo.bif and Home offer you a new official navcore (first 6.525 later 7.903)

or...connect to home, select "remove from device" and delete the installed navcore opting not to save a copy of it,then use the update option to install new application (navcore),unplug and boot, then update again untill you get to the latest application available...

Thank you TTuser

Will this give me every file that was included in a original tomtom 910? What if I completely formatted the Tomtom and then connected it to Home?

If someone out there who has an original backup copy of Tomtom 910, I will make it worthwhile for your troubles.

Thanks

I can't see the sense of making it, if Your maps are not original, You/or Your father will have to patch tt Home anyway to use e.g. mapshare

if You will do what all guys above says, You will have only official navcore downloaded via tt Home on Your tomtom, not maps.

Hi

Well, I never thought of it that way. I guess your right in what you're saying. I think it was a V6 map when I first got the 910, so it'll be well out of date.

Still, I'm a bit flush I might buy the original map from tomtom......NOT!:hehe::rofl:

Thanks for all the help and advice though. :urtheman:
