tommyis3 28th December 2008, 11:31 tHANKS GUYS, USED THIS ON MY ONE, ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS IF I USE THE POSTCODE SEARCH FUNCTION, THE UNIT LOCKS UP THEN RE-STARTS ITSELF, OTHER THAN THAT WORKS GREAT, ANY IDEAS WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE LOCK UP WHEN USING THE POSTCODE SEARCH?
OH YER N SORRY ABOUT THE CAPITOLS

lessram 28th December 2008, 14:18 You have created a version as I am running it also on my One. All "semi/half working ****" disabled (BT, FM, TTS) I also assume you removed the Loquendo, and ASR directories?
This way a TTOne doesn't loose speed, nor reboots or gives other random problems.
Only difference I use IQ routes (my personal IQ can use any addition it can get :) )
And I use an USB-TMC/RDS module.
john_d 28th December 2008, 14:55 You have created a version as I am running it also on my One. All "semi/half working ****" disabled (BT, FM, TTS) I also assume you removed the Loquendo, and ASR directories?
if u remove the dir. does that remove it from the menu on the TT?
tuurtje 28th December 2008, 15:07 @lessram, Yep started over again
Used the original from Go 540, and modified / updated all i could find (for example help files from new 940, new Zip files etc.)
Removed ASR and Loquendo folder (One is to slow to even test with) and i do not like this features, I allready have a car stereo ;-)
Went back to the first original ttsystem release from TTuser.
And it is real clean, so no left-overs from other builders.
And it runs very smooth (for hours) no reboots nothing, So just as it should be.

GeNieuw 28th December 2008, 15:31 Hi Tuurtje,
Works HD-Traffic with your setup?
TTuser 28th December 2008, 16:01 i can not believe that poor old x(123)0 1.1 better works as a 1.3.3
also know this old fmoff not, this works first with 1.2, seems you know at all not for what it is and what it do
tuurtje 28th December 2008, 16:24 @TTuser
Here is the ttsystem file i am using.
http://rapidshare.com/files/177530472/ttsystem.rar
7,12 MB
And yes it's the smoothest version i have had on my TomTom One.
And i think i put allmost all dumps from everybody on mine.
Tuurtje
TTuser 28th December 2008, 16:42 i have load your zip i know which ttsystem you use, why dumps from someone, why load you not self alone the ttsystem from me and test it :confused::confused:
tuurtje 28th December 2008, 17:26 @TTuser
I test dump's from other people to see what they have included and how it runs (features, RAM, smoothness).
If people want to use your latest version:
SE_ttsystem.8204.9718.rev.1.3.3.rar or
SE_ttsystem.8204.9718.x10.x20.x30.rev.1.3.3.rar
All they have to do is delete the following from my build:
Outsourced.bin
switchfiles.zip
readmenot.txt
ttsystem
And replace them with the one's from your rev 1.3.3
But the main feature of my build that it's idiot proof, complete, clean and works
Tuurtje
p.s. will test your latest version to
lessram 28th December 2008, 21:07 You didn't use 1.3.3 ??
That's another difference with the way I have it on my One.
I use the 1.3.3 but stripped it also (no ASR / BT / TTS / FM etc...).
bolgow 28th December 2008, 22:23 Question to TTuser & lessram :
Iam using the 8204.9718 with 5.5106 boot and I note that I loose the names of the Favorites when I remove the SD card of my TTOne V1. The favorites are still there, but the names are the changed to the Tomtom adress instead of the typed names.
Did you note the same problem ?
thank you both for this version!

It wasn't clear that the "DON"T FORGET: Go to settings and change keyboard to: SMALL and QUERTY" is necessary, just sounded like an optional choice. Never mind got that bit sorted :)
I was just going to ask about ALG, but ukdirtyboy has beaten me to it. Does 815.2024 allow ALG using your setup? Do we need to change config? (My Lane Guidance in preferences is greyed out)
Also, is there any advantage in upgrading ttsystem to 1.3.3?

grantf 29th December 2008, 12:19 Hi folks. I've tried looking around numerous other threads, and my head is spinning a bit.
Can anyone advise me if this release would work with an older TTGO 700 model? I have downloaded the latest 815.2003_Western_and_Central_Europe map in anticipation.
If it would work, will all the features work, or are there some things which arent capable on the older device.
Many thanks

This is suitable for TomTomOne XL but remenber to include Switch File "version.txt" with A:8010 B:9369 (See details in "readmenot.txt")

how is this done not done that before?
Greg1 31st December 2008, 00:44 I just tried this on my Origional TomTom One XL with SD card slot.
Using a new formatted blank SD card.
Problem is that everything is working fine except that after using it for a short while I get no voice anymore and i have to restart.
Looks like it is the ogg audio warning files associated with my POI that are the couse of loss. I get no sound when I have enabled "warn when near poi" selected poi file warning. And after I run a route demo and pass the first school zone or camera on the route, all sound on the TomTom is lost and I have to restart the tomtom. If I turn of all POI warnings, the sound works fine. No loss.
Ie warn when near poi.
POI File:
School_Zones.bmp
School_Zones.ov2
School_Zones.ogg
Cameras.bmp
Cameras.ov2
Cameras.ogg
Anybody else have the same problem with ogg poi warning file causing loss of sound? If so, how do you fix?
tuurtje 31st December 2008, 05:01 @Greg1
Don't know wich POI files and belonging sounds you are using but I myself am using all the files (*.OV2) of http://www.scdb.info/ including warning sounds (build in sounds from TomTom) and don't have a problem at all.
The problem is you are using external sound files, that your TomTom can't handle
Fix: delete all the *.ogg files in your map folder and go into configuration and pick a sound that is build in like Police1 or whatever you like and test it again.

I have already done that. If I delete the .OGG file associated with the POI file it then allows me to pick one of the 15 or so inbuilt sounds. Which work ok. At the bottom of the list it has one .ogg file called "Gong__3x.ogg" in the sounds folder if I use that, I also can't hear it and loose sound.
In other words all I need is a custom warning tone to be assocated with a specific POI. I use the same poi and ogg files on the official erarlier navcore version 8.010 and they worked perfectly. But apparently this function does not work correctly with this version 8.204.9718 when using the same OGG file.
Alibababa 31st December 2008, 08:56 I have also a sound problem, but not with POI, i have this problem at the start of the tomtom one v4n00.005; most of the time (9/10) it start with no sound, and when i go to voice to choose a voice, i press on the test button and no sound go out, same thing on the "demo planning", all its working fine, instead of this.
Please help me
Also i try to only put the original voices; only the original voices (from the backup), and all its working very ok; no problem with sound.
If i play a non-default voice one time, all the voices are gone, include the original one;
also tts on or off is the same thing; and my TTS it does the same thing that non-original one.
Can someone help me please.
tuurtje 31st December 2008, 11:26 I have used the ogg files from Lessram (see my first post)
splash.ogg
suspend.ogg
Gong__3x.ogg
I don't know the specs from TomTom how a proper sound file should look like for a One (formally multimedia support is none http://www.gpsreview.net/tomtom-one-3/ )
Perhaps some audiophile can play a little with different bit rates mono/stereo and test it again
Tuurtje
p.s. the suspend tune works ok on my device (the other 2 i haven't used)
ffantasea 31st December 2008, 15:17 The sound files should be converted to 22050Hz/Mono. The sounds files will be ok after that.

With only the original voices there's no problem, thats correct. But when you put in custom sounds they have to be 22050Hz/Mono or else the tomtom system will malfunction. You can convert it with "wavepad" for example.
me3000 3rd January 2009, 06:57 Hi Tuurtje, I found this thread when browsing for a way to get my TomTom one v3 working with ALG. I read before that this wasn't possible on a one v3, so I was thrilled to see your post. However, I need it with Australian maps, and your dump seems to be for Europe/US only. Anyway, I'm running 8.010.9369 with Australia_V815_2059 maps. Do I need to update both my maps and my navcore to get ALG working? And if so, what versions do you recommend to use?
tuurtje 3rd January 2009, 07:35 @me3000
For all advanced features you need 8.2 or higher, so yes you need to upgrade your TomTom
You also need a map that supports ALG, but i do not know which one it is for you downunder.
The language files are just dummy's (0 bytes), you can create them yourself to safe space.
Tuurtje
Trent L 3rd January 2009, 12:59 AUSv815.2086 and AUSv815.2057 both support LAQ and IQ Routes.
harro123 4th January 2009, 01:49 Hi Guys,
Speed cameras (Australia) are not working. I have enabled the menu and put the files in the map directory (and run for dct etc) and it allows me to select warning sounds so appreas to work as normal. But when I run demo it does not appear on map - no sound / warnings. Please assist, anyone else have this problem?
P.S. Tuurtje - good work the software looks great. Other than speed camera, all is working well on my TT1 v2. I am using Australia 815.2086 and IQ and Lane Guidance works! :)
me3000 4th January 2009, 03:35 Thanks Trent for pointing me at the right maps.
Tuurtje, step 6 in your document says:
6 - Copy all files from _COPY_TO_MAP\DummyEurope\ to map folder and overwrite all
~ When you are using USA maps use _COPY_TO_MAP\DummyUsa\ ~
What do you need to do if you're not using Europe or USA? In other words, what's the purpose of these dummy files? I'm not so savvy that I know how to create language files myself I'm afraid. Thanks for your help, or 'dank voor je hulp' (in case you're Dutch)!
tuurtje 4th January 2009, 04:07 @me3000
Files are for speech recognition, but on older One's this feature is not possible. With older maps if you just deleted all cspeech_*.dat the map didn't worked anymore and crashed your TomTom
To make dummy's, just use notepad and create an empty file and give it exactlly the same name as it is in your map folder.
p.s. i haven't tried on 815 maps to just delete them and see if it still keeps working

harro123 4th January 2009, 06:37 Tuurtje,
I have just went out driving to test out the cameras. I was able to get them working on the road once (after adjusting the warning time and sound) but as soon as I shut down the tomtom and turned it on again there were no warnings again. I have not loaded any non-standard sounds (only adjusted time to 20 seconds).
Also, when I was trying to get it working, when i select "Polite 4" for the warning tone all of the sounds are disabled (including voices) and I need to hard restart to get the sounds working again. Thanks, hopefully we can work this out.
me3000 4th January 2009, 10:35 Thanks Tuurtje, it's all working now.
Harro, I'll let you know in the next few days or so how I'm going with the Australia cameras.
me3000 4th January 2009, 11:30 Question to TTuser & lessram :
Iam using the 8204.9718 with 5.5106 boot and I note that I loose the names of the Favorites when I remove the SD card of my TTOne V1. The favorites are still there, but the names are the changed to the Tomtom adress instead of the typed names.
Did you note the same problem ?
thank you both for this version!
I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Any solutions for this (except for replacing the MapSettings.cfg for a backed up version)?
me3000 4th January 2009, 11:33 @carpboy
To get Safety Camera on menu you need to add the switch file "bton" to either the root directory or the "Config" This enable these menu items.
Could anyone explain how this can be done (adding the above mentioned switch file)? Do you simply have to change the filename 'btoff' into 'bton'?
harro123 4th January 2009, 14:36 Tuurtje - I did a little more playing around this avo - found that some cameras would work consistently, some occasionally and some not at all. It is very unpredictable. The cameras I am driving past include those on the same side of the road. I notice in the 8.3 software update on TomTom's website that they have changed safety cameras to only operate when relevant and on route. Could this have something to do with it? I went back to 7.903 with the same camera files (1037) and the camera warnings all worked properly. I also tried running the Australia 815.2059 map with the same speed camera files on 8.204 and the same problem occurred.
Everything else is working great, apart from cams system is very stable and responsive - lane guidance works well, mapshare is fine, IQ seems to work, I didn't have any freezes or crashes.
me3000 - yes you only need to rename the file to bton and the "TomTom Services" menu will appear - and in here you can find the safety camera settings. Let me know if yours work. Will you be using 815.2086?

I tried to rename the file, my TomTom kept on rebooting after the mainscreen (cylce), so I had to change it back into 'btoff' again. So is there anything else I need to change? I'm using AUSv815.2057 by the way.
a5ian300zx 4th January 2009, 21:00 thanks just what i've been looking for.
how do i disable the run clean switch each time i delete it from \config folder it keeps coming back again? (this is because i got some custom icons and it keeps disabling it everytime i run tomtom)
cementarius 5th January 2009, 05:37 Hello,
I have a TT One 3rd edition and have a problem with the sound.
If I change the volume in the menu settings everything is ok.
But there is no sound when I use the option to change the volume when i click on the bottom left corner in the standart view.
I am useing the TT standart voice.
When i use the TT Home software everything works.
I also noticed that when i start the application "work with my TT" in the small info window on the top right corner, whitch appears at the start, the text "welcome to TOMTOM GO 520".
If I start the TT it self, there comes the message "welcome to TOMTOM ONE"
I am useing the map Western_Europe_1GB 815.2024.

xorb83 10th January 2009, 10:33 Seems to run perfectly here on ONE New Edition and Western_and_Central_Europe_815_2003 map. Great job tuurtje !
Just one question. (Sorry, I'm a just beginner!) I need the original FRENCH voices back! Just the ones that are missing ! Wher can I find them?
xorb83 11th January 2009, 09:48 I just copied the missing voices from another map backup, and it works!

akgupta58 12th January 2009, 07:18 I have just installed a patched Navcore ver 8.204(9718/081105) and Australia Map ver 815.2086 on my Tomtom One v1. Works perfectly and has Advanced Lane Guidance and access to Mapshare from Tomtom Home.
edapeman 12th January 2009, 08:56 Hi all,
Very new to this, I have done a lot of reading here (great site - thanks!) and think I have figured out what needs to be done.
Can someone please confirm if I have this correct.
To update my One 3rd edition, I follow the steps in the first post to apply the 8.204.9718 and a downloaded map to a SD card. I need to download Easyusetools to apply the patches.
Is there any other software or files I need to do this?
Also, I am uncertain which map for USA and Canada? 815.2019 or 815.2022
From the chart above, am I correct in thinking that I should be using to 815.2019 to utilize some of the advanced features of this update? (such as ALG)
Sorry for the newbie questions, but thanks in advance for your help!

slope101 12th January 2009, 14:13 Thanks Tuurtje,
I'm keen to run the nav update but my TT one V4 doesn't have SD card capability. It's just got internal gig of memory, that is ample map capacity. Running navcore 8.010.9369. Can you advise me on 8.204.9721 install instructions please.
comlab 12th January 2009, 16:02 I have already done that.
Hi all
I have the exact same problem like Greg1. If I choose the Gong__3x.ogg or any other OGG File (also files from TOMTOM Website) I loose the sound until I restart my device. I have a ONE XL with SD Card slot. My custom OGG Files were okay on original TT System. For testing I rolled back my device to 8.010 with TT System from this site and discovered the same issue. Loose of sound if I choose a custom OGG, not only for POI Alert also for other alerts like overspeed. Sometimes I loose the sound even If i scroll to 2nd Page in the choose sound menu. Could this some kind of memory Problem on the ONE XL? Any Ideas?
All other things are working fine, thank to Tuurtje for this.
amezaks 13th January 2009, 17:38 I have noticed the following problems on my Tomtom ONE XL with this installation:
1. The sound can be lost completely. Not obvious when it happens, not known how to get it back - rebooting may help or not. Not obvious how to know if the sound has disappeared..
2. Difficult to switch of the Tomtom - it may hang during the shutdown and a watchdog wakes it up again after some seconds. It may be necessary to switch it off several times until I can be sure it is really off.
3. Longer time used to locate the satellites after switching on - typically several minutes, as if the ephemery files would be missing. Updating files by TTHome does not help.
In fact, I observed exactly the same effects on the 8.204 version cracked by TTuser. But a cracked 8.010 version is running fine on the same device.
If nobody knows hints how to solve those problems, I will discard this version.
TTuser 13th January 2009, 18:03 In fact, this here is a Version from TTuser
all "fullbackups, Dumps, COMPLETE VERSION" are based on same Files and include even direct all Files for someone where is not able to collect the Files alone.
tuurtje 13th January 2009, 20:35 @amezaks
1 - Only had it one time (also don't know where it's coming from) although i have seen in a few fora that also official devices are having simular problems
2 - Never have had such a problem or heared it from other users
3 - In my case it's allways several seconds
Tuurtje
p.s. i agree with you that the older versions (8.016 in my case) where running without plroblems shame that it doesn't work with 8.15 maps
vaporand 14th January 2009, 17:45 tried to get this to work on my tomtom ONE v2, no such luck... loads up and wont move past the logo.. downloaded the navcore here and applied the map 815_2003_UKROI.
right it now works
whats now complete is as follows
wiped the sd card
reinstalled all files from home by the software on pc, and then discon and recon until none availble
applied the navcore patch and overwrite all
downloaded the relevant map
applied the easytools
placed map onto sd card
then downloaded the file for home to allow update
it finally is working

The 8.016 Navcore (like 7.9) does NOT WORK with map 815.2003 (NC 8.2 or 8.3 needed), but WORKS with others 815 versions, like 2024 or others of your countries.

edapeman 27th January 2009, 08:20 Got this working with 815.2019 on my One 3rd Edition and everything looks great!
Just was curious as to what ALG and IQ routes are, and how I tell if they are working? (noticed some posts in this thread that said these settings were greyed out)
Also, is it possible to get the speed cameras and/or traffic to work without subscribing to the service.

Deathsycthe 6th February 2009, 08:43 Hey, I have a few questions as I just found out about this TomTom patching stuff and pretty much a newb.
1. I would assume this would work with my TomTom XL 330? I read somewhere in this thread that other people used this on their XL also.
2. Do I need to have a SD card? My TomTom don't got one and only have 1GB internal memory.
3. Do I need to patch the ttsystem with easytool after installing copying the navcore into it? Or is the ttsystem in the rar file sufficient?

Good Morning and tnx Mr. tuurtje,
i've a question about your dump.
I've got a TTOne 3rd edition v6 and i want to use your dump but i want a Loquendo voices.

Oh, no problem!
it isn't my device!
I found it on the net and i'm trying to setting up my TTOne 3rd edition with Loquendo + IQ + ALG.
I think that the problem is the CPU.
Are there difference between 1st edition and 2nd and 3rd?
380MHz vs 266MHz...
How do you know about it?
Mumble mumble...
P.S.: Sorry for my english... :hahaha2:

3) I patched my 2022 USA and Canada Maps with Easy.

Any advice for adding LoquendoTTS?

All other is running EXCELLENT like:
ALG = Advanced Lane Guide
QuickGPSfix updates
Map share updates
No crashes with all available languages
Steps to take:
1 - Make a complete backup of your existing system to harddisk (just for safety)
2 - Format SD card (use Panasonic SD formater) with EXTERNAL CARD READER
http://panasonic.jp/support/audio/sd/download/ftp/sdfv2003.exe
3 - Copy the map you want to use to SD card
4 - Generate *.meta.dct (use Easyusetools) for your device and used map (the one from step 3)
5 - Copy *.meta.dct to map folder (the one from step 3)
6 - Copy all files from _COPY_TO_MAP\DummyEurope\ to map folder and overwrite all
~ When you are using USA maps use _COPY_TO_MAP\DummyUsa\ ~
7 - Copy all files from [navcore 8.204.9718.zip] to the root of your card
8 - Check that all files are not hidden or read only
9 - LEAVE CARD OUT OF YOUR TomTom, reset your tomtom by sticking in a paperclip into the small hole on the bottom for at least 15 seconds
10 - Turn on your TomTom and wait till it ask to insert SD card. Insert SD Card
11 - Be patient it will reboot automatic to clear all settings

tomtom130 15th February 2009, 21:21 Will this NavCore work on my Go 710 ?
If you do a full backup through Explorer (including any hidden folders), you can always do a restore. If the TomTom fails to boot, you can still access its file through Windows Explorer/MacOS Finder, allowing you to restore your backup and revert to your previous functionality.
Note that the Go 710 is a wide screen device, so you'll probably have to follow the instructions related to using the wide screen bootloader/startup images.
Also, please don't quote everything, just the parts that are relevant.

tomtom130 16th February 2009, 02:20 Also, operate my one doesn't work if I use USA_and_Canada_815.2022 maps. It complains that the maps can't be used on my device, but they work fine on the TomTom normally. Loosing the ability to set a device lock might make the new maps not worth it.

staid 21st February 2009, 20:20 WAT I DID NOT TEST (don't use it / don't want it / don't have it) BlueTooth, TextToSpeech, IQ Routes, HD-Traffic, MP3)
Thanks, but I'm wondering why You call it "COMPLETE VERSION", if there is still that much stuff that won't work? Don't get me wrong, its gooood to have more install packages, but Your title is a bit miss leading. :urtheman:
I've been looking for version that BlueTooth works, but seems like there won't be any for TT ONE. One of the problems could be different hardware between older and newer ONE models, but allso that not so many here use BlueTooth at all - so could be that there is not much interest to dig it more?
And hey all You who had tried this version, please tell what (hardware)version of ONE (or any other model) You are using, I think this helps more the rest of us. :thanks:

Do not get your point, i clearly stated following:
WAT I DID NOT TEST (don't use it / don't want it / don't have it) BlueTooth, TextToSpeech, IQ Routes, HD-Traffic, MP3)
And with only 32 MB of RAM there is not that much room to play with.

stefe2009 22nd February 2009, 00:48 I have the same problem with the version of Navcore (8.204) as i do with Navcore 8.024 - When using custom POi's like school zones. the sound dies. works well until it comes across a custom POi with a sound file (ogg). And wont come back until a restart is done. IT works ok the sound with POI from the map but not Custom POi with sound.
tuurtje 22nd February 2009, 01:06 @stefe2009
This bug has been mentioned earlier, can you do me a favour and test 2 things for me.
1-
move the *.ogg files from your map folder to the \sounds folder
make sure there are no *.ogg in your map folder anymore
Go to [Change preferences] - [Manage POIs] and select voice you want
If 1 doesn't work test methode 2
2-
Convert all *.ogg files to *.wav (ONLY use 16 bit)
make sure there are no *.ogg in your map folder
Tuurtje
p.s. I am using also custom POIs from SCDB (33 items) but use the internal sounds and DO NOT have any problems

stefe2009 22nd February 2009, 01:57 OK tuurtje. I think i know the problem. Its the file size. I found a couple of POI sound files already used on tomtom (very small) in size roughly 12 kb max. And they work fine. Every file above that size wont.
Thats the problem i am thinking - Any suggested non complicated softwares around that i can reduce the size of a Ogg file??????
troelsit 22nd February 2009, 02:28 I have problems with this version that the unit automatically power on!!
Not a big issue - but annoying since it's always out of battery :-/
stefe2009 22nd February 2009, 08:53 OK Tuurtje....Problem solved it was the sound quality MUST be SpeedCamera.ogg - the sound in 22050 Hz mono converted into an ogg audio file. Converted it over and now all is good.
So Have Navcore 8.204 on a tomtom one with 8.15 working with all features.
Happy Days

vincentn1981 23rd February 2009, 11:29 Use the switchfile bton to be able to delete favorites. This has already been mentioned so many times!!!
troelsit 23rd February 2009, 13:21 I noticed a remarkable better performance by removing the config-folder completely!!
Don't know if it's standard procedure - but it worked for me though
vincentn1981 23rd February 2009, 14:46 @ troelsit
That's the problem with these dumps: Nobodies knows what they are doing anymore. If problems occurs everybody starts to ask questions which have already been answered.
If you remove the /config folder it means that you:
- switch to x40 emulation (if you did not already have an empty model.txt)
- you swtich off runclean and rm (which imcreases memory load and therefore may frees your device if more memory is needed, especially after sometime navigating it can hang and reboot automatically)
- you have switch on tts and switch on fm and loads of other things which you probably did not want to at all.
All in all it is a very good idea to remove stuff of which you know nothing about :(.
BTW good luck while navigating.
troelsit 23rd February 2009, 14:55 I know :)
Just wanted to add my experiences... My device is running VERY smooth right now - Actuallyl I have never seen it with such a good performance before in any versions.

troelsit 23rd February 2009, 15:38 between 7-8 mb....
ais567 23rd February 2009, 15:39 can you get me a backup from your device please?
troelsit 23rd February 2009, 15:42 Where can I post it? I don't have any accounts on rapidshare, etc
vincentn1981 23rd February 2009, 15:44 The indication of free ram by the tomtom does not say anything. So it is useless to ask how much ram is free unless you would use a linux consolde running on your device while having it in the background do a navigation and then typing in the console 'free'. While you will not be doing that, I think it is useless to talk about how much ram is free...
troelsit 23rd February 2009, 15:48 Well - maybe it's not accurate, but however it indicates if the device is close to crashing....
I notified more available RAM when removing config-folder
So at least it gives you a hint whether RAM is critical or not I would say
ais567 23rd February 2009, 15:54 troelsit
upload it to www.mediafire.com
troelsit 23rd February 2009, 16:08 http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=09b720a514620557111096d429abd360e04e75f6 e8ebb871
There you are
vincentn1981 23rd February 2009, 16:22 More ram available when the config folder is removed is simply not possible because it would mean you have:
bluetooth switch on
texttospeech on
runclean off
which will all cause your device to use more ram. Therefore the indication tomtom gives in the overview menu is not to be used at all, especially not when you use the Outsourced.bin folder, because then it is storing stuff on the sd-card, which will be indicated there as used ram as well, which is not logical at all, because it is not the main ram of the device itself.
The only reason you feel it goes faster and you think you have more ram available because of removing the config folder is because you miss the switch files runclean. This files forces a lot of files to be punt on the sd-card and run from there in stead of running out of main ram. So to have a faster device you could also just delete the runclean switch. However this will not give your device more free ram available. Anyway talking about free ram available on a linux system is quite useless. Linux will always want to put the main memory as full as possible to make the system faster. Why do you need memory doing nothing? That's just useles
troelsit 23rd February 2009, 16:37 Alright - it sounds like you have more knowledge than me in this :)

you might need to update the bootloader - i had to do this when i updated a couple of units (One, Go300 etc)
Whenever i've done so I've gone for 5.5022.
Just find the file from somewhere on the forum (search system5.5022 and you should find something), change the name to "system" and copy it to your TT. On startup it will update the bootloader.
EDIT (make it easy for you): http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2247460&postcount=1
This step is NOT reversible and people have reported problems when updating the bootloader.
However, as i said, I've not had any problems at all when doing this.
let us know the outcome
archer2009 1st March 2009, 01:09 I did some speed testing - the following times how long it took to calculate a set route from Edinburgh to London and the free RAM upon start up (GPS v1.20 Boot 5.5105)
App 8.204 seem to take a lot longer to start up but shuts down instantly when you want to power off - it also feels a lot snappier when
pressing the buttons they react a lot faster
I should say the first results were also on a faster SD Card but not so much faster
App 8.204
Free RAM 7.8MB
Map 815.2003 48 seconds
Map 815.2024 54 seconds
App 8.300
Free RAM 4.9MB
Map 815.2003 72 seconds
Map 815.2024 60 seconds
aluks 1st March 2009, 04:21 I'd like to thank tuurtje for his work (useless stuffs disabled by default is a good idea for One, i wanted to do by myself but I didn't have any idea about how to do it :) ).
It seems to work very good on new tomtom one v4.
I'm going to test it soon with 825 maps.
sgummamento 1st March 2009, 12:56 Tuurtje - I did a little more playing around this avo - found that some cameras would work consistently, some occasionally and some not at all.
I have the same problem. Have you found a solution?

ironia 2nd March 2009, 00:49 @ troelsit
BTW good luck while navigating.
ok i have tested on one 3rd regional 512mb internal
map v825.2157
work ok..but:
-slow boot
-tt home shows core 8.010 update..
-i have deleted suspend.ogg & spals.ogg because with these files the system reboot continuously without shut off
what i have to insert into model.txt and version.txt???
tnx
aluks 2nd March 2009, 01:57 Tested on One V4 completely formatted (2gb internal memory) with WCE map (825.2157).
No problem at all, ALG and IQ routes work like a charm.

ironia 2nd March 2009, 11:41 Hi all
I have the exact same problem like Greg1. Any Ideas?
All other things are working fine, thank to Tuurtje for this.
i have the same problem with gong, i delete it for resolve the problem
ironia 2nd March 2009, 11:45 Good work ! However I noticed that you can store a favorite, however when you go to manage favorites, choose one , where the actual map of the location comes up ( different that the older Navcore) , push delete, and it does nothing. Any suggestons ? The unit is a TT ONE XL.
Thanks

ironia 2nd March 2009, 15:04 please could someone explain me the difference between tuurtje version and TTuser version??
tnx
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 15:21 Tuurtje his version is just a dump of a working TTuser version on a TT OneV2 device. For safety reason use the stuff of TTuser as it is. If you use a dump you first of all don't know what you are doing (because you do not read first what you are suppossed to do) and secondly you do not know if some problems might occur just because you are using someones dump. I think tuurtje his version is even an older version of the version TTuser has made.
aluks 2nd March 2009, 15:24 mmm, where is TTuser version?
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 15:29 here it is:

it is a dcl file, so you need jdownloader or crypload to let it download the files, via the dcl file given by TTuser.

thats the same **** from me only as a older Revision
aluks 2nd March 2009, 16:38 The only reason I've used this version is because it is simple to install (copy and paste) and it works on One.
I don't know what are switchfiles, emulation, and so on...but these knowledges seem to be required to understand some thread and to adapt packages for your own version of Tomtom (the main question for a simple user is "What do I need for my Tomtom XXX v. X"? since there are lots of package we don't even really know what they do).
Anyway thanks TTuser, I'm really trying to understand what I have to do with your packages.
ironia 2nd March 2009, 17:47 many thank to ttuser

vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 18:00 The ttsystem file has less bugs and a new easier way of using the switchfiles. If you don't try, you will never learn.
aluks 2nd March 2009, 18:10 Which are the right packages I need for a Tomtom ONE 30 Series (what is ASR)?
http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/1114/catturas.jpg
Thanks
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 18:20 Use the 8.204 one, that is the newer version. Use for Se_ttsystem the version 1.5 and not the rev 1.5 for x10, x20, x30, that's not for your devices, you have a One. The ASR package is not needed (you do not have a microphone built into your device). First install the basicpack and thereafter unpack and copy the content of the SE_ttsystem file. After that unpack the switchfile.rar file and extract that to the /Conifg folder. Read the readmenot.txt, which should now be in the root of your SD-card. Delete what is not needed in the setconfig.txt file in the /Config folder. Set the right model in the model.txt file or leave it empty for x40 emulation. The version.txt file should need an edit for the right values, which are given for your device in the readmenot.txt file as well. Look at all the txt files first and try to understand what it all does. You can figure it out, it is really easy.
aluks 2nd March 2009, 18:33 Thank you vincent, you gave me a good start at least. Just a little question..what's the difference between navcore and SE_ttsystem package? (what will happen if I update only ttsystem? ) EDIT: ok ok, i'm downloading, it's better to start from scratch
Thanks for your patience
ironia 2nd March 2009, 18:36 so we download basicpack, extract
dowload SE_ttsystem_ .204.9718_v1.5.rar5 and extract into basickpack
SETCONFIG.txt
model:x40
runclean
viewmsg
runcheck
delgns
delmap
ttsoff
btoff
fmoff
rm
cleanflash
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 19:19 If you want to use VocalizerTTS (so simple text to speech voices) remove the switch ttsoff
I always delete also viewmsg, delgns and delmap. I would add if I were you bton, it enables you to delete favorites and furthermore does nothing for your device.
cleanfalsh is not really needed, it is up to you to use. I never use it, but if you would get problems just use it, only one time is needed.
ironia 2nd March 2009, 19:28 model:x40
runclean
runcheck
ttsoff
bton
fmoff
rm
and from the guide...
"a seperate model.txt override the model: Entry in setconfig.txt"
so i delete the model.txt?
because i set model:x40 in setconfgi.txt
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 19:34 @ironia
You did it correctly, however you do not need to x40 there, because this navcore is for x40 devices. You only need to put there x20,x30 if you want to emulate that. Anyway it does not matter.
I see you still use the switch ttsoff, so you do not want to use vocalizerTTS? If you want to have more information about this, just use the search, it is quite simple as well. However LoquendoTTS has not been shown to work on a One. What the trick is to get that working nobody knows yet...
ironia 2nd March 2009, 19:42 no i don't use tts on one v3
i put dummy cspeech into the mapdir
so the setconfig.txt will be:
runclean
runcheck
ttsoff
bton
fmoff
rm
'bton' for the favorites only becouse one v3 have not bt, it's ok??
tnx again for support
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 19:51 cspeech files are only needed when you want to talk to your tomtom and tell it what to do (you need the ASR folder for that and a microphone, so for your device it is a no go).
bton is for your device indeed only to be able to delete favorites within TomTom menu.
I think you are right and that the V3 does not have bluetooth, I am however not 100% sure about that. However if you do not use bluetooth anyway, you can just use both btoff and bton switches.
ironia 2nd March 2009, 20:54 ok it work perfectly...with bton i have 2mb plus free!

Also how would i go about adding speed cams to my tt / could you link me a file which would work best with this navcore
Cheers for all help and work you've put in. it IS very much appericated :)
gsrai 2nd March 2009, 23:03 i manged to get the speed cams from other thread. one glitch iv noticed is the sound, as some times it doesnt seem to work properly..
Any one else got this? and is there a way to fix it?
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 23:40 You only need to rename system** if you want to update your bootrom of your tomtom. Sometimes this is wanted when you do not have support for SDHC card, however it is inreversiable! So you cannot go back! Only do this if it is needed or you know what you are doing. TTuser puts the system(number) there so you can if wanted update your TomTom bootrom if you need to, which I think is really handy.

tomtom one v4 (4N00.012)
gsrai 3rd March 2009, 00:47 hi has anyone got this working on there tomtom.
Iv just got a question about the ALG, im not sure mine is working :S
If i go to Prefernces and go to the 3rd page, theres a box which says 'Show lane images' but its greyed out.. im guessing this is the ALG thing.
Should it be greyed out like that?
vincentn1981 3rd March 2009, 01:03 You have to use a map which is compatible with ALG, then it will work. Now you probably have a map below v8.

vincentn1981 3rd March 2009, 01:20 Well, the navcore can I am sure abou that, maybe you need to reinstall the basicpack, but I think your map does not support ALG, that's more logical, but I might be wrong.

Since you tried with 2 maps with no luck, it seems a problem of ttsystem in my opinion...it looks like it isn't patched (did you update it with tomtom home? maybe the software revert it back to 8.010, i don't really know).
I have Tomtom v4 too, using the big package posted on the first page and no problems at all.

carpboy 3rd March 2009, 14:05 cannot add new voices to new build how can it be done?
tuurtje 3rd March 2009, 14:19 carpboy don't know what you are doing  (see your own previous post).
Nothing changed, tested: just added a new voice Amber with TomTom Home.
Works fine ???

carpboy 3rd March 2009, 15:29 cannot see any when i go into tomtom home voices says no item availible sorted now
carpboy 3rd March 2009, 16:09 when i add a voice i already have data60/data60.vif it does not show up on list copied it to voices folder but cannot see it?
lessram 3rd March 2009, 18:44 Hi Tuurtje,
What's the use of the Fleetcd folder, what does it do ?
Isn't that only for 8.3xx NavCores ?
Haven't tested your dump completely, but looks like a good working version.
Another thing that I am wondering about; why do you let it "emulate x40" (using the model.txt) while it already runs x40 without the model.txt ???
A nice addition is the dummy files. Though using it is only needed when you're out of SD space. If you've space enough, there's no reason to use the dummy files ain't it?
In the map custom you added all the system files but forgot to include the latest; 5.5112
Why? Is there any reason for that ? (I am using that one for months without problem. Not that it makes any difference btw compared to the others)
Why don't you use the RM switch file ?
All questions out of curiosity !!!
I know that you know what you are doing.
tuurtje 4th March 2009, 00:20 @lessram
Everything OK with you ?
Fleetcd
Can be found in many official releases like: navcore_8.016.9380.go630.cab
Even in very old versions from 2007 it was allready included.
Is ment for TomTom Work ( something like: remote planning, tracking )
emulate x40
Result will be the same, left it for clarity.
dummy files
Previous versions would crash if they were not present, So you can save space and still keep it robust.
5.5112
5.5022 is by most considerd the best.
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=287724&highlight=loader
YOU CAN'T downgrade so I don't want to test it.
Happy with my 5.5022 so i am keeping it, haven't had a problem in last 6 months.
rm
Doesn't bring much and for the version i am using of ttsystem it's an experimental feature.
Tuurtje
scottydog90 4th March 2009, 00:32 thanks for the reply aluks,
more info...i'm happy maps are key-genned but when i run ttsystem patcher on the "new" download on page 1 it returns with
"can't find ttsystem already patched or old v6 version, this works with v7 version only"
press any key to continue.
if i replace ttsystem with ttuser one it does patch ok but then device wont boot up...it just freezes forever on tomtom one splash screen.
after checking my device is a tomtom one V2.............is this ok??
will it run on V2
cheers
tuurtje 4th March 2009, 00:49 @scottydog90
You do NOT need to patch my ttsystem file :oom:

scottydog90 4th March 2009, 01:32 so tuurtje will it run on tomtom one V2 ???
or am i wasting my time and i'll trot off and buy a newer tomtom
( sorry about mixing posts but i've been trying to make this work for hours and i needed to try something, cos everyone else seems to be running ok on V3 and V4)
tuurtje 4th March 2009, 01:39 Yes will run on all One's, just follow the steps from first page.
scottydog90 4th March 2009, 01:47 flawless following of instructions, all boots up,select language and all other requests then when i select the map 825.2159 it says problem with map you cannot use this map on this device united_kingdom_and_republic_of_ireland-27
my son works in IT and he's watched over my shoulder to double check me but all i get is the above message>>>
very frustrated...any suggestions please

tuurtje 4th March 2009, 01:58 So you missed something in step 4 and 5
Look arround in the Maps forum
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=774
scottydog90 4th March 2009, 02:17 mmmm now this is interesting tuurtje.
i.ve been using runforallautomatic in easytools and then the meta.dct file is ALREADY in the map folder???
you seem to be saying i should be needing to copy this file into the map folder at step 5.
what should i run to make it happen like you need me to
thx
scottydog90:hardcry:
aluks 4th March 2009, 02:22 Scotty, after using easytools, you need to put the meta file (if you have moved it) and the DCT file in the map folder in order to make it work.
If the map you downloaded contains already a DCT file, delete it! It's not good for you device....
scottydog90 4th March 2009, 02:34 aluks thats what i;m asking....where does easytools generate these 2 files in order for me to then copy them into the the map folder?????
(to start with map folder has meta-27 and a pna file...after running easytools runallautomatic there then appears a dct file without me coping/pasting anything)
we're getting close methinks:dance:
aluks 4th March 2009, 02:48 scotty I sent you a PM in order to keep the thread talking about tuurtje's build.

cliveaff 4th March 2009, 21:02 Thanks very much, this has worked great on mt GO 710 The maps Iam using are.
"United.Kingdom.and.Republic.of.Ireland.v8.25.2157" I have Put the cameras on, and they show up, and put extra voices on as well.
But first of all I put on ".Western.and.Central.Europe.TRUCK.v8.15.2112" TomTom started up O.K. put the settings on, when booted into map mode, it said no maps on device. Thats when I put on G.B. and Ireland.
Also the Bluetooth is not working, and the button is greyed out.
I have not road tested yet, but there seems no problems, finding addresses, and postcodes.
Again thank you for an easy step by step install.
roywalker 4th March 2009, 23:24 could someone briefly explain how to put the speed cams on? i have put the same map as cliff (obove post) but have realised there are no cams........
thanks.
cliveaff 4th March 2009, 23:25 Put them in with the maps.
roywalker 4th March 2009, 23:32 are these the files i need? just put them in with the maps
Safety_Cam_UK_Premium.ov2
Safety_Cam_UK_PremiumOv2.ver
or is there more to it than that? i cant seem to find any more info on which files i need.
thanks for your reply.
cliveaff 4th March 2009, 23:45 I got the cams from another site. they had a different name to those.

daywalker156 5th March 2009, 16:10 Hi Tomtom works great v3 no problems only when i switch it on it hangs a bit then restarts and reads from card then reboots then ok anyone else get this or have i missed a simple thing when installing the files
many thanks
Daywalker :good2:
phutruong 5th March 2009, 16:11 you might need to update the bootloader - i had to do this when i updated a couple of units (One, Go300 etc)
However, as i said, I've not had any problems at all when doing this.
let us know the outcome
Hi, Thanks for your comment, I finally got it to work. I hate to admit it but I am a total noob and used a 4gb SDHC, i went out and got a 2gb SD and worked fine, Does anyone know if u can use a 4GB SD card?
cheers.
BiggerDave 5th March 2009, 16:18 Does anyone know if u can use a 4GB SD card?

Yes you can but if you go for a bigger SDHC card you'll need a different bootloader to run it.
archaix 5th March 2009, 18:40 tuurtje - THANK YOU. I've been searching this site for weeks trying different things for my One XL.S and this is the first thing that's worked. I only have ONE issue that I can't seem to find an answer for in the previous posts.
My TTS voices aren't being detected by the tomtom. Of course I removed the ttsoff file from the config folder and rebooted...still nothing. I've tried erasing everything in the voices folder and the LoquendoTTS folder and reinstalling the TTS voice "Susan US" from tomtom Home - no luck. I even tried making a ttson file in the config folder just in case that was an option. Do you have any advice as to how I can get a working computer voice with this build on a ONE XL.S? (I'm using a working North_America) map...I can provide numbers or versions if it's helpful.

What files do you have in config folder ?
QUESTION 2:
phutruong, just purchase a 4 GB HCSD card.
You don't need to change anything, bootloader in my image supports it
for other people who want to upgrade to a HCSD:
1 - copy my image first to your old SD card and let it update first
2 - now you can copy all to your new HCSD and start using it
QUESTION 3:
TomTom Go (Classic?), really don't know if it will work (processor type, processor speed, ram)
So you will have to sort it out yourself
QUESTION 4:

Find the post of Lessram i think he had it working.
I don't like this feature so havent done anything with it

- How does my RDS/TMC receiver will work with this build?
Plug it in and test
- I do not see any Traffic icon in menu ( which was there in original version)
Only shows up when TMC connected is
- in which folder shall i copy extracts from SCDB.rar, Radars.rar ?
In your map folder
- in which folder shall i copy meta.txt ?

archaix 6th March 2009, 00:04 UPDATE - TTS Voices not selectable. I was able to get tomtom to detect the TTS voice by using a backup of my old stock setup. I just replaced the entire folder with the old one and rebooted about 5 times. Now the voice shows up in the menu, but the "test" function with all of my voices is kind of hit or miss. Most of the time the sound won't play...every 3 reboots or so it works perfectly even with TTS. Just wanted to posts my findings in case anybody else was working on this.

nobelium 7th March 2009, 02:56 Is the update appropriate for a TomTom OneV4 with BootLoaderVersion=505 and ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=6560 / ApplicationVersion=7914 ? I'm afraid of wiping my card and have it upload a new bootloader with such a higer version (8.x navcore from a 7.x version).
Would also like to know if I need an SD/SDHC card or if can I run this update using built-in flash.
Thanks!
tuurtje 7th March 2009, 06:29 @daywalker156 & @assem046
it seems to be a know problem with specific models
4N00.001 = TomTom V1 or "Original" TomTom
4N00.003 = TomTom V1 or "Original" TomTom
4N00.004.2 = TomTom V2
4N00.004 = TomTom New Edition
4N00.005 = TomTom V4 or TomTom LE or TomTom New Edition
4N00.012 = TomTom V4 or TomTom LE or TomTom New Edition
4N01.001 = TomTom 3rd Edition or TomTom V3
4N01.002 = TomTom 3rd Edition or TomTom V3
4N01.003 = TomTom 3rd Edition or TomTom V3
As far i have seen on the net, it's only the V3 that have this issue
Try advised steps bellow from TomTom (don't know if it works)
First of all, this is a known issue with TomToms that will typically happen when you insert an SD card or re-insert an
SD card, The TomTom requires you to perform a RESET every time you insert an SD card. Once your perform the
RESET, you should not have to perform it again on subsequent power-ons. The following is the RESET sequence to follow:
> Remove any SD card from your TomTom's SD slot
> Turn on your TomTom (without an SD card inserted)
> Once the TomTom has booted, insert your SD card
- Your TomTom will reboot once you insert the SD card.
> Once the TomTom has booted with the SD card, use a paperclip to press the RESET button on the bottom of the TomTom
You should be all set now. Next time you power off the TomTom, you should be able to power it back on with the SD card inserted.

TTS
Text-to-speech*: TomTom can announce street and place names and even read you out your SMS messages.
* Text-to-speech is currently supported in 8 languages: German, UK English, US English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese.

appropriate for a TomTom OneV4 = YES
SD/SDHC does not matter as long as your map will fit.

archaix 7th March 2009, 06:54 tuutje,
Can I get you or someone to explain exactly where this Navcore came from? I went to Best Buy to look at the new 930 TomTom because I can't get the voices to work with this release. What I noticed was that the Navcore on all of the displays was 8.0 something and looked horrible compared to yours. Is this an update that you can download once you buy the new device or how can I get this as a legal and normal download? I'm not asking to put down what you've done here, it's just that I have an opportunity to pick up the new 930 for cheap and I like your Icons and look better than the one that comes on the device.
daywalker156 7th March 2009, 10:46 Hi Tuurtje

I don't have a SD Card slot. I've soldered a 2 GB inside, but with < 8.010 I had no problem.
lessram 7th March 2009, 11:50 Anyone tested the RDS/TMC (mini USB) receiver with this 8.204 (on a One)?
Mine keeps on searching for the right channel, and I'm not sure wether it's broken (always had connecting problems with it) or it's just because of the firmware.
So if it's working for others I know mine is simply broken.
nobelium 7th March 2009, 12:37 @tuurje, thanks for the reply!

nobelium 8th March 2009, 01:31 Confirmed working on TT ONE V4 with Western Europe 825.2157 maps. Didn't even need to generate .dct, maps loaded correctly at first boot. Didn't need to change keyboard size either!
Thanks!
museforever 8th March 2009, 03:42 Thanks a lot, this version is really really smooth, juste like the official one. All other 8.204 Navcore I found were lagging.
The only thing is when I plug my TT one v4 to my computer (Mac), I only have the GPS quickfix updates, no Mapshare update. I had the same problem with my "lagging" 8.204 version, but with my official (8.10) I was able to use mapshare update.
Is there a way to fix this ? My map is France 825.2157.
Thanks again, good job !
best10 8th March 2009, 07:13 This file is the newest of NavCore 8.204.9718 REV_1.5?
tuurtje 8th March 2009, 15:08 @museforever
change the first line in the file "PNA" (is in your map folder)
example:
Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB.pna
To
Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_825.pna
So add _825 in your pna file name
@best10
No it's not rev 1.5
Tuurtje
museforever 8th March 2009, 16:06 @tuurje :
I doesn't work
I went into the folder /_copy_to_map/DummyEurop/ and I changed the file "France.pna" to "France_825.pna" but it doesn't work.
When I plug my TT one and launch TT home, I don't have any map share update.
Is there any other file to change or a patch for TT home to apply ?
By the way, have you noticed that if you add speed cams, the framerate is slower ?
ironia 8th March 2009, 16:17 don't rename the file * pna ...
but
open the fine *.pna
example open with notepad the file 'france.pna'
and modifiy the first line as follows
now
ID=France.pna
sholud be:
ID=France_825.pna
you have to add _825
museforever 8th March 2009, 16:51 Thanks it worked !!
The only thing is I had to move the map from /_copy_to_map/DummyEurope/ to /DummyEurope.
There is still one problem : my TT one detects 2 maps : one called ".France" and another called "France_825".
The first one seems to be a bug, how can I remove it ?
ironia 8th March 2009, 19:56 check that there will be only a France.pna file...
dontphunk242 8th March 2009, 20:40 Fantastic work! You deserve lots of props for what you were able to do.

durix 8th March 2009, 20:41 Hello all, i have modded my one V3 with an internal SD card. And installed your dump and the western and central europe map v815.2003.
I am experiencing some problems at the boot.
It is quite long and it seems that tomtom try to boot twice (i have the splash screen a first time then the screen goes off then on again with orange background and the progression bar at the bottom then the splash screen again)
What should i try? thanks for all your great job.
Edit:
Tried my old backup of the SD card and i have my instant boot again.
Maybe i should change a paramater in this dump?
museforever 8th March 2009, 21:05 check that there will be only a France.pna file...
There is only one France.pna. Also, if I change the name of France.pna, I have two maps : "France_825" and the new name I gave to pna, for exemple ".test".
lessram 8th March 2009, 22:47 Finally there's a new NavCore which really works with the One.
