Aliken 11th January 2009, 21:06 One question: where is this MobileDVD converter u talking about in ur description? In the archive are only the .sis file and the reg. code!
What program should we use to convert movies with the proper resolution?
nafis92 11th January 2009, 21:20 No only sis file & serial are in rar.
I tried smart movie coverter 4 for converting avi file but results are very bad.
Then i try free video to ipod converter 3.1.3.51 where i got 640 480 resolution for mp4.
Aliken 11th January 2009, 21:28 OK, can u give me the link for this converter? And does those converts in 640x480 resolution looks good on 5800 display?
nafis92 12th January 2009, 07:54 OK, can u give me the link for this converter? And does those converts in 640x480 resolution looks good on 5800 display?
This resolution gives superb result in TV output. But i still not get exact resolution foravi/mp4 like Batman.mp4 provide by Nokia which covers
fullscreen of 5800.
For free video to ipod converter 3.1.3.51 use google search & its free.
If u will get perfect resolution pl provide information.
loyagirish 12th January 2009, 10:47 resol. i recommand are 300*180
Aliken 12th January 2009, 10:58 @loyagirish - are u sure about that? OK I will try that 300x180 resolution and will drop feedback. ;)

oneclick 13th January 2009, 18:27 Hi,
Does this app play avi? Because the phone natively plays mp4. If you use a converter to convert videos to mp4, then what's the point in using another app?
Anyway, thanks for sharing.
vikram5800 13th January 2009, 21:04 hello people,
the nokia 5800XM does not have a inbuilt feature of playing avi's. The format that worked best for me on the fone , and also on the T.V. was :
converter settings :
op format : mp4(MPEG-4 / AAC) - video & audio
video options : bitrate - 1200, Frames Per Second (FPS) - 30
Audio settings : bitrate - 192, smapling freq - 44100
resolution : select custom ( width - 640 x height 480 )
save the settings from "SAVE ENCODER SETTINGS" so that you dont' have to set it everytime u convert. HAVE FUN !!! :goodluck:

Yes MobileDVD plays avi files like smartmovie.
vikram5800 13th January 2009, 21:22 hey,
the app does not play avi. It is just a video converter. Now, the converter that came along wid the fone on the cd, i've used that personally and did not find the results that satisfactory.
I use this, thought wud post it here as well. :)

IceGT 26th January 2009, 23:49 Read abit and got this info.. try to get perfect video quality for ur 5800 =)
Download Super Converter [...]
It's similar to Zune Converter, not much of a difference, both are useless when u want to add a subtitle to the movie... how about another one.. except FormatFactory, it's pretty good, but it takes to much time to convert...
