Zebra92 1st February 2009, 00:20 Hello,
I installed this version on my GO910 and every thing looks good except when I put the GPS on it's support in the car, it does not start automatiquely when the alimentation coming from the car powered the GPS like before.
Is it normal and is there a solution to fixe this little problem?
Thanks in advance.

thanks
rozel 6th March 2009, 18:38 Hi
After visiting several forums, I liked this one a lot and followed the above proceedure to the letter. However when I'd finished, I disconnected and all I get is the Green splash screen which you get when you connect your device to the pc together with a flashing white cross in a red circular background in the bottom right hand corner. Nothing I do can get my 910 up and running! When it is connected to my pc, the flashing cross diappears.
What's worse is when connecting to TomTom Home 2, it says there's no backups to be found! I created a backup using TomTom Home 2 before I started out and yes I have saved all the files and folders separately too but WTF!???
Spent ages doing this - I admit I'm a noob but what have I done wrong?
I am trying to update my GO910 exactly as this thread explains from my original 7903 Navcore and 650.1052 map (Western and Central Europe).
Something basic is wrong with the instructions - problems found: -
Some of the folders in my original LoquendoTTS folder were not mentioned - lib being one, I copied all to my TT drive - is this ok ?
My original root did not have a config folder or the 2 files setconfig.txt and version.txt - I now seem to have a config folder with the 2 files in them together with the 2 files in the Root - which should I have and what should they say?
The stuff about the setconfig.txt really doesn't make sense to me - I do not understand - after deleting the lines of text, if that is what was meant, I now have a setconfig.txt file which reads: -
changedtext:TomTom GO 940 LIVE
910 Paul Green
The version.txt file reads: -
A:8204
B:9718
is this correct? These numbers correspond to the Map version.
The respective files in the config folder read: -
setconfig.txt file: -
model:x30
runclean
viewmsg
sdid:1
runcheck
changedtext:TomTom GO 940 LIVE
delgns
delmap
ttsoff
btoff
bton
fmon
fmoff
rm
nomsg
usesetting
cleanflash
noqfixdel
Vesrion.txt file: -
A:7903
B:9183
Which is what they were originally
But which ones if any are correct and where should these files reside in a config folder or in the root?
Using the full Western and Central Europe Map - 825_2157 with Easytools everything seemed to run ok
After inserting j for my drive letter this is what it reads: -
### No tt*.bif found ###
### Run Fake meta.txt Check ###
Western_and_Central_Europe-26.meta v825 bld2157 Key seems to be ok
Enter Devicecode here, without space, - I wrote AKTANA2CQA -the Device details from my 910GO
As I've run it already it now says twice that dct exists already and Press any key to continue
After pressing a key the program aborts and closes - is this correct?
I then disconnected the device but it did not reboot - no message comes up regardingCreate ttgo.bak - it just sticks on the above screen. It doesn't restart after reconnecting to the cradle either - still sticks on the above screen.
I've tried resetting but still the above screen is all I get.
In Tomtom Home 2 It would like to update to an earlier Navcore 6525 ????? It doesn't recognise my backup made before I started out, saying no backup can be found and most of the functions will not work either! including Mapshare. It won't even allow me to use my Go through Tomtom Home.
I'm using Tomtom Home 2 on Vista Ultimate -64 bit OS When it came to do the last bit of the tutorial, which I assume allows me to use Tomtom Home 2 with my updated device, the folder Navcore 6/7****** or whatever simply does not exist.
So I inserted the Navcore.8204.9718@tomtom.com folder in: -
AppData/Roaming/TomTom/HOME/Profiles/bg19ulps.default/extensions
Is this correct?
OK enough of me - I really do not fully understand what I'm doing so tried to follow the instructions precisely - I am hoping that by wiping and transferring back all my files, will restore everything to what it was like before - I will report back about this later.
Edit (update) - Yes thankfully everything is as it was before - Navcore 7.903 (9183/081205) OS:2344 Map W & C E v650.1052
Futher Edit - Just noticed I'm running TomTom Home v 2.5.2.60 -DOH - what do I do about this as well ?
:emptymind:So What do I do next please ???:emptymind:
:wave::wave::wave:PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE:wave::wave::wave:

Hi Thank you for your further help - YES SUCESS !!! :urtheman:
Having just played with it for a few minutes though, I do not seem able to find Post Codes here in the UK - this is extremely important - when I input a postcode all I get are Italian ones - any ideas here anyone please ???:wave::wave:
Ahhh - I see that you now have to set the country for this map - why is this? I now have my post codes available, having selected United Kingdon, but can you plan a route from one country (say the UK) to another (say Germany) without switching maps? Will the device select the appropriate maps automatically ? How can I get my previous Favourites back ? How can I get my Speed Camera stuff back imported separately etc etc
Sorry for such noob questions but this is all new to me -

bobby1607 7th March 2009, 15:11 Use "Support" from the TomTom site,
and search for "postcodes". It will show a reference to not working postcode searches.

grard31 - May I publicy thank you for all your hard work and effort in helping a Newbie update his 910 for the very first time since purchase, 2 years ago :urtheman::urtheman::urtheman:
All seems well - but have a few residual questions if you don't mind answering for me please?
1. What is "Boot" - my version is 4.8600 and I notice others have more up to date versions - what does it mean and what does it do? Is it worth my while to update and if so, how do I do this please?
2. Favourites - have I lost them? I've read that you cannot move them from a version 7 Navcore to a version 8 one so I don't think that moving from a version 6, in my case, to version 8 will be successful either? Is there anything I can do - other than going back to my old setup, manually writing them down and starting over in my new setup?
3. Advanced Lane Guidance - am I right in thinking that this only works on Motorways and how do I know it's installed and working?
4. In my version 6, there were settings for the compass - I can't find them in version 8 - any thoughts?
5. When I keep the power button pressed, the unit seems to switch off - does this mean that it's powered down correctly or is it still on draining the battery - it's just that I've read a lot about the newer Navcores not powering down properly.
6. What would happen if I linked my Device to my Account in TomTom Home? Will my Go be affected in anyway and is it advisable to link it?
7. The art folder - this relates to changing the pointer from a blue arrow to a car, yes? When I change it in preferences, when I go back to the main map screen, the blue arrow remains - is something wrong or does it change to the car I previously selected when I attach it to the car's docking station? - it's just that I haven't tried it thoroughly yet, forgive me.
Thanks again for all your help and support and hope you, or someone can answer my final questions
Regards
roz
grard31 8th March 2009, 19:28 rozel,
1- The GO910 works perfectly (with all version of navcore_SE ... of TTuser) without changing their bootloader.(my boot : 4.8600)
In addition failure (back TomTom guarantee) or resale (product : not compliant) you can have problems.
2- You can use PoiEdit : http://www.poiedit.com/ , or manually writing (the best)
3- Make a demo cours
4- The compass is set : Preferences 4 of 8 : Status bar preferences, Show compass => select
5- No problem with GO910
6- Before starting TTHome check ttgo.bif : (open file ttgo.bif with notepad) ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
If yes : OK
If no : delete file ttgo.bif, copy file ttgo.bak and paste it in the root of your GO910
Rename this file ttgo.bif
7- For change car symbol : Preferences 3 of 8 : => select

Thanks agian for that but still have a few issues, probably because of language difficulties
2. Could you explain some more please
3. Not sure what you mean - I just want to know how I can tell if I have ALG or not
4. Yes I know but in version 6, there were more options - presumably not in 8 ?
7. Yes I know but should it work immediately or only when it is docked and car is moving ?
Thanks again and hope to hear some more

mukemu,
1 - Before starting TTHome check ttgo.bif : (open file ttgo.bif with notepad) ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
If yes : OK
If no : delete file ttgo.bif, copy file ttgo.bak and paste it in the root of your GO910
Rename this file ttgo.bif
2 -Install folder LoquendoTTS (downloaded) to the root of your GO910
-From the saved copy of your TomTom : in the folder LoquendoTTS make a copy folders Dutch, EnglishGb, EnglishUs, French, German, Italian, PortuguesePt, Spanish then paste them inside the folder LoquendoTTS (previously installed) on your GO910. Close the folder LoquendoTTS
3 -Disconnect the GO910, let it reboot (select in Windows “Safe disconnect”, disconnect GO910 from the computer (take it from a cradle))

harleyx 27th April 2009, 18:31 I may have to change my map, the one to download was a failed link.
I may also be confused by the 'root'. I deleted everything in the TT...Basicaly went into the drive in the computer and deleted everything. Then copied all the files (as per instructions) to the vacant drive. ('I' in my case.)
