Nice utility application for s60 3rd ed phones...
Specially for n73 because it has very poor ram & battery life...
By deleting the useless process we can save some ram & battery...
Thanks for this nice & usefull app...

Move apps. you do not need to 'Removable' first.
Goto Removable > OPTIONS > Auto Kill on startup = ON (display is OFF)
Restart

Yes, all stopped apps. shown in 'Killed'. Only some apps, like BTServer.exe, FaxModem.exe, etc need to be killed manually.
Even System Seven, killed automatically after startup.
Rgds.

If I select "Auto kill ay startup = ON", will the app kill all the processes in the "removable tab" ?
If so, the only way to prevent it from killing an app that is listed in the "removeble tab is moving the app to another tab.
Is this the way the "Auto kill ay startup" works ??
Thanks in advance !

Yes, most apps. will be killed if left at Removable.
You should move those apps. that u need, eg. Handy Shell, Adv. Device Lock, etc. to 'Protected' to prevent auto killed at startup.
Goto 'Options' to move those apps you need to 'Protected'.

'Panic' are processes which you tried to kill (in Removable) but failed at startup, as these apps are restarted by the system. Some of these processes are FaxModem,.exe., BTServer.exe., LBTrackerOBS.exe.
However, these processes can be killed manually.

Since we have to kill these apps manually in any event, it's alrite then. I'm using E90, most likely it's not perfectly compatible with E90... No luck...

Thanks for the above clarification but I can not kill manually any process when in the 'panic' page. Or did you mean deleting them manually from c.sys.bin? That would be hazardous, wouldn't it? If you didn't mean the later, please describe how I can kill these processes in the 'panic' page. Thanks to 'Marksman' but couldn't add rep (MSSR)...Mansur.

You can't stop/kill any process at the 'Panic' page.
The processes I mentioned earlier are from Nokia's firmware (BtServer.exe....etc), and could only be terminated by going to 'OPTIONS' in the 'Removable' page (assume you'd moved these processes to Removable) .
You can kill these processes manually by pressing the 'Terminate All' selector at least 2 times (or 3 times). That's what I meant by killing manually.
Cheers !

When I use auto-kill-at-startup, the app won't let me kill faxmodem, btserver,.. because after reboot, these are already in the panic tab ! There is no way to kill these if I use auto-kill-at-startup !!! This makes auto-kill-at-startup quite useless !

I am sorry if I am bothering too much but I can not move any process to 'removable' from the 'panic' page. So there is no question of terminating them. The only obvious advantage of this version was the 'auto kill at startup', which becomes useless for this. I am back to version 1.30. Thanks...Mansur.

bobans1983 and vayagras, Latest version of this application is here > KillMe v1.36 S60v3 SymbianOS9.x Unsigned ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
bobans1983, It's really trial and error, as to what to add or not add to the auto kill feature, My best advice is to try kill a process manually, once or twice and if the phone does not shut off or slow down, then could be they are OK to add to the auto kill feature, but be careful, test a few times, as one wrong move and :blast:auauau
:lol!:
Also if your phone will not boot, you can try removing the memory card and see if it will. :goodluck:
I use this app. (v1.36) on an N95, but I have applications you may not have installed or vice versa, so pointless giving list, but certain things like FAXMODEM can be added OK, but will not always close and need to be terminated 2 or 3 times, most times 3.
Hope this is has helped you, but any problems you can always ask again, on this or the other thread, but best to reply on thread for version used.
