lessram 23rd January 2009, 14:39 Tried it on TTOne V2.
NavCore boots..... but crashes while loading the map.
(gonna experiment with it, but doubt it'll work)
Tried it with and without the mappatch. (Don't know what this ttsystem is)
My cracked map was accepted with both versions, but still froze in both cases
ps. not tried the new system file yet.... think i'll dare to take the riscs later
pps.; now tried it..... the new system file works without problem on my TTOne v2. Didn't notice any difference btw. The POI warning problem (for TT One's) still excists. I hoped that would have been solved.
xdoctor 23rd January 2009, 15:08 working good on 720

CoD2 23rd January 2009, 16:58 on 930 it works great

lessram 23rd January 2009, 17:04 TTUser do you have any idea about what's been changed in btserver & rdstmcserver (both in outsourced bin directory) are those changed compared to the 8.204 versions? Or only new versions for 8.3xx ? (in other words; might the btserver fix the bluetooth problems in 8.204?)
samson111 23rd January 2009, 17:05 on 930 it works great

lessram 23rd January 2009, 17:06 on 930 it works great

Also happened with the previous 8.3xx version (on my TTOne), so I doubt we will get a better NC then 8.204
xisu 23rd January 2009, 17:17 on 930 it works great
on tt one 1st it crashes when i touch display to get to the main menu any ideas?
maybe your TTONE doesn't have free RAM memory to load v8.310, and when you clik on the display it freezes.
Try to clik on right bottom of the screen immediately after start it, and you will see its free RAM memory.
Bye!
TTuser 23rd January 2009, 17:24 bt equal with 300 320

Charly2007 23rd January 2009, 18:02 TTuser states the following in the "readmenot" file:
you can also write the switchfile Names in a File setconfig.txt
to know how see into the Example File
Settings with a own unique Value needs a : on End
model:
changedtext:
sdid:
with setconfig.txt works the single switchfiles not more except
a seperate model.txt override the model: Entry in setconfig.txt
model.txt + cycle.txt
version.txt works only separate.
Can anyone be so kind to explain what this mean?

Thats the sort of question that TTuser loves to get....
especially when he's already answered it once in this thread!! For the cheap seats then, the mappatch file is for guys aready using 8310 officially who want to use "borrowed" maps on their x40....

His English might not be perfect, but IMHO the above is pretty clear.
I'll try to write the same in other words;
all the switchfiles (like NOTTS, RM, FMON etc...) don't have to be placed seperately in the root (old style) or the config directory. Now you can create a file named setconfig.txt (placed in directory named config) In this text file you can write all switch options. To make it clear look at the sample setconfig.txt file in the config directory
Settings with unique values needs a : on the end of the line, in example
model:
changedtext:
sdid:
When this new added option (setconfig.txt) you can not use the seperate switch files anymore (nor the old style where you placed them in the root, not the previous style where you placed them in the config directory).
The only exceptions to this are;
model.txt - this file overrules the model: setting in the setconfig.txt
cycle.txt - this file needs to be seperate in the config directory
version.txt - this file needs to be seperate in the config directory
Hope this alternate explanation made it clearer for you.... still; now it's;
German --> English --> Dutch --> English
rytenuff 23rd January 2009, 19:01 I believe it means;
You now have the option of using the new, "setconfig.txt."
I have included an example of how it may be used.
Settings which have their own unique value must end with a colon. Thus :
For example,
model:
changedtext:
sdid:
etc.
If you chose to use the setconfig.txt, then any single switchfiles in root will no longer work,
with the exception of model.txt, cycle.txt and version.txt.
If you place a model.txt in root as well as, model: in the new, setconfig.txt., the model.txt in root will take precedence over the, model: entry.
So for example, if you had in root, model.txt X20
and in setconfig.txt an entry which said model:X30
Your device would use the model.txt X20
I hope this is correct!
Oops! beat me to it! :)
Cisco_guy 23rd January 2009, 19:10 Well its works fine in my 930
i did tried it today to my work HD working fine
GPS also working fine and Fast GPs load
rytenuff 23rd January 2009, 19:16 @lessram
"pps.; now tried it..... the new system file works without problem on my TTOne v2"
You are referring here only to the system file working on your TTOne v2 and not the entire 8.310 Nav?
lessram 23rd January 2009, 19:49 Yep !!!
The system file only. Not NavCore 8.310 !!
I placed the system file on my SD card with 8.204 it updated my tomtom One and it still works.
(Had the hopes that after the update maybe NC 8.3xx would work also..... but not)
xdoctor 23rd January 2009, 20:13 No stuttering voices on 720 (not for me anyway)
Yes, here too.

I agree however one small problem - when clicking on the bottom left corner to change the volume causes TT to freeze then an auto reboots back again.

So will stick with ori and deal with the freezing.

msty 24th January 2009, 04:59 On a OneXL is there any advantage to using Nav SE 8.310 over 8.204 or 8.300? What are the differences that could be utilized by a basic TT?

atomtom 24th January 2009, 09:21 Does FM transmission for navigation instructions work with this navcore? I am pretty sure the music plays, but TomTom have disabled voice transmission over FM in 8.300, so I am wondering about this new release.

I know its working because if I turn out my light it goes into dark menus and map colours and when turned back on it goes into day menu and map colours
sco0ter 25th January 2009, 00:18 Oh and it HAS to have a valid GPS signal to do the switching... Dont know why this is but it will only automatically switch when it has a valid lock

Can't be the 720 and 920 have the same hardware. So you are running in x40 emulation (new icons) and the light sensor works? Maybe I'm doing something wrong..

Scooter...does sensor work only if you have the unit on the car stand? Or does the light sensor also work when the unit is not mounted.
In 8.204, sensor was only working when docked in the car mount.

Kindly share what emulation you have set on your 720 & how you have your Brightness preferences set up. [B]My[B] 720 light sensor doesn't function with 8.204 or 8.310.
lessram 25th January 2009, 12:27 Yo TTLuser1,
rytenuff misspelled your "name" on purpose, since you got Lessram's wrong!!!

TTUser1 also misspelled my alias on purpose.
And when it comes to aliasses, what's in a name when you copy "Tha King's" name.
But don't bother.... lets just talk about TomTom
sco0ter 25th January 2009, 12:53 My setup is standard and emulation is X40 and I have new icons (Although for some reason I have the brown background instead of blue when unit asks to connect to computer). Because of problems before with maps and voices stuttering and being really slow I formatted my device. I installed my original map (715) and deleted all navcore. TTH installed Navcore 7 then upgraded to Navcore 8.300 (for the X20 devices). Everything was working fine including auto volume (something that didnt work out of the box).
I then unzipped 8.310 navcore over the top (the one from the TOMTOM site not the basic pack). everything was working fine. However I have since upgraded to 815.2003 UK map and patching it the auto dim and auto volume refuse to work. I tried to revert back to my old map but it still wont work (should have made a backup). If I have time I will try the whole process again to see if it goes back.
Just a thought. Could upgrading to the newest bootloader have made a difference. I didnt do it for the last couple of navcores but I forgot about it this time and it upgraded..
Neo1984 25th January 2009, 13:01 Hi,
i hope that somebody can help me: I installed TOMTOM 8.310 on my Go 520 and have Problems with the TTS Voice. I used the german one (Katrin) and when i'm driving into a "traffic circle" (i hope that this is the correct english word for that) it says: Drive into the "traffic circle take the 3rd exit, 3rd exit. i mean that it repeats the word 3rd exit two times. between it the sound "scratches"
I hope that you know what i mean :)

Neo1984 25th January 2009, 14:12 Hmm, i tried to delete the Louquendo TTS Folder on my tomtom and then TOMTOM Home tells that i can download it from their server. It is V.700. Is it the x20 or x30 voice??
Where can i get the x30 voice?

Patching a map, or installing a patched map, shouldn't have any effect on auto dim or auto volume. If you reinstall NC 8.300 from TTHOME & auto dim & volume don't function, then the NEW bootloader would be suspect. Please let us know your results if you redo your 720.

my setconfig has this

Neo1984 26th January 2009, 11:17 My TOMTOM is stuttering since i use 8.310. Maybee it is because of using the TTS Voice that came with my Device (Go520) but is there any difference to the voice files originaly came with Go940??

The 910 and 700 shall have a hard disk.

A "full dump" w/o maps would be no different than than the "source files" except for the ttsystem file, which is device specfic and would do you no good.
alUNo 26th January 2009, 22:06 Hi TTuser,
Everything work fine on my GO510 !!
-TTS,
-ASR,
-MP3,
-PHONE,
-And so on ...
The sound is very low with that version (8.310) compare to the V8.204 (very good).
And I found the light of the screen goes down only when the 510 is on his dock.
Finally, I keep this version instead of using V8.320 ...
Thanks a lot once again
:thanks:

You are right.
BUT
However in theory the hardware is all identical (within tolerances). So please tell - why would it work on one 720 for arguement sake, and not on another??
TTuser 27th January 2009, 00:32 1. the biggest different between equal Devices (Hardware) is the BL

U can also use an automatic creation with version.txt file (see doc. in readmenot.txt)

If it is Installer error, why do you think you could do better installing a "grab from a working system" than installing the "source files"?

With a 720 you don't need any of the extra files or folders. Just copy the Navcore files, ASR folder & patched ttsystem file into your 720 and you are done.

I have 520.
Copied only these files & it runs in x40 mode.
Result = loss of function.
To get functions back requires x30 mode.
To get x30 requires files you advise not needed.

yotrek 28th January 2009, 08:17 So how to apply this on my go930..any instructions? thanks
birger3 28th January 2009, 09:05 Good job TTuser :)
This Navcore works quite okay on my 930. I deleted most of the switch files, except BT, FM, Saveram mode and use x40 emu.
BT, FM, and even the recorded noTTS Voices work
EPT not working (may be because it is not supported from Go940)
In x40 emu with original computer voices, I can not choose the TTS option read street names, the first 3-4 boxes in this menue are greyed out.
Have a nice day

mikecwest 31st January 2009, 03:49 There is a "traffic circle" in Long Beach, Ca...i have not used my 720 on it, but in the past my 910 would freak out and tell me "exit 2nd exit on lakewood boulevard, exit lakewood boulevard right, stay right,"
I think the concept of a circle in the routing process is not quite common. (at least no to the extent of the "traffic circle" in Long Beach.
Hi,
i hope that somebody can help me: I installed TOMTOM 8.310 on my Go 520 and have Problems with the TTS Voice.

You need to have an ogg file called "suspend" in root. It will stay lit for the length of the ogg file. The attached one is in English. You can make your own with Audacity which is free. Just copy the specs of this one.
eXPerien83 1st February 2009, 15:49 any way to fix the freezing screen problem on ONEs?
I have a ONE 3rd Ed. V6 and I have the same problem on all 8.3xx versions it's like the screen doesn't load the icons. It doesn't show the + and - to zoom map, it loads a square or similar.

I have tried this version on my GO910 and the boot freeze on the start-up picture on after that, there is no more disk activity.

If some one succeed, tell us how to get this result?

You may find it is App / Map / Device specific, not B/L related.
Here's a few numbers from recent screenshots
Same device, diff Apps..ie..

SE navcores may contain more than 1 system file so that you can use which ever one of them you want to ,or you can retain your existing one and use that instead. Adding them to your device ,like you have done, with the number included in their name (eg:system5.5106) means they will just sit on your tomtom doing nothing...its only when you opt to rename them to "system" without the numbers that they become your new bootloader....REMEMBER...once you change to a newer bootloader you can NEVER change it back to what it was before...the best way to check what bootloader is currently active is by reading your ttgo.bif file....
If you want to change your navcore back to 8.300 it can be done (in theory you should have a backup copy of it on your computer you can reinstall) or by removing the installed "application" using home then updating to get the latest official installed or if it doesn't offer it just download the cab file for it from one of BiggerDaves posts...

Thank you very much for your answer. I've been trying to understand all about Tomtom since a while but there are so many things still don't get !
I'm not that good in technology !!
1) For ex I'm still working on "switchfiles" which are the most difficult part I think ! I'm using this 8.310 NC but what switchfiles do I need if I want to get the last 740 Navcore on my 730 ? To emulate a 740 on my 730 ?
2)I also used to understand dll/ttgo.bif trick (thx to active posters here) but I'm unable to redo it with this 8.310 NC...can't get mapshare and ephemeris update anymore. I put the cracked dll folder in right place and took my original ttgo.bif file, replacing version numbers on it. Am I right ?
:thanks:
coolguy82 8th February 2009, 17:59 Even I donot understand the switchfiles and ttgo.bif concept. Pls explain. Thanks.
Kroke 8th February 2009, 18:37 I might have come across a little bug in 8.310, at least with my GO730.
Create a route from anywhere to your home location. No matter if 'fastet', "shortest" etc .....
When the calculated route is shown, choose "Alternative Route".
Then I don't get a real alternative, just a 400m long path on my home street.
With 8.204 it's working well. Can anyone reproduce this ?

rosencraft 9th February 2009, 17:30 Hi people I am new here, i got the 8.310 working on my 730 just fine but i have found a little bug:
If you want to use earphones or an audio cable in this version (first you have to go in preferences, then speaker preferences and set output to "Line-out (audio cable)") and you plug them in it does not work:
8.310 just keeps sending out voice to the speaker, not to the earphones/audio cable! Try it yourself. It is a bug of the original 8.310 or is just in this Variant version?
thanks everyone for help especially TTuser
@Kroke it does not happen on my go730 i choose find alternative and then calculate alternative and it does find other routes. Maybe your route it is so short that there are not alternatives?
Ok I have edited cause I have found that the line-out stuff is a bug! (i still do not know if is a variant's or original x40 version's problem). Affects not only 730: look here (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=329223&highlight=Line-out+%28audio+cable%29), for lazy ones just this. (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2502939&postcount=4)
There is a possible solution if you just want to listen to music and it is in the same thread here (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2503253&postcount=8) (anyway I had already found it by myself, the problem is that I would like to listen to the instructions, not the music... so not a solution for me)
TTuser I need your help please, do you have any idea how to make it work?

TTuser 16th February 2009, 00:26 which antenna version have you
you need possible to unplug an plug antenna again
check also have you the right mctx.dat etc. files
you have possible also see that it already begin to search if you only stuck to the mounter without antenna because a new mounter with inbuilt antenna exist for the x40, the previous situation with other versions with the Errormessage was better, ok enough have whine about it, now start it always tmcserver also without antenna, is of course better now:suicide:
sheraz80 16th February 2009, 01:23 Yes I tried sevral times. How should I see if I have the right mctx.dat etc files. In my mctx.txt following is written,
In France using ViaMichelin
In UK using ITIS
In Finland using Destia
In Italy using Infoblu
In Germany using TMCPro
In Sydney, New South Wales, Australia using Intelematics
In Melbourne, Victoria, Australia using Intelematics
In Brisbane, Queensland, Australia using Intelematics
My mctx.dat file is 52 bytes in size.
vincentn1981 16th February 2009, 10:26 I tried to run this version on a TT One V2, but without success (the same happens with the 8.301 version). It hangs when you touch the navigation screen. When pressing the the bottom bar to increase the volume or see the version etc it works fine, but when you actually want to plan a route it hangs. The zoom in and out buttons are just small white squares.
The log file gives an error in the /bin/ttn file located in the outsourced map. If I remove this file or the whole folder it still hangs after pressing the navigation screen to plan a route.
TTuser do you have any idea or do you need the whole error log file for this? Or am I just asking a stupid question?

vincentn1981 16th February 2009, 13:52 For deleting favorites use the switch bton, that will probably do the trick.
rapon 16th February 2009, 14:30 Switch bton? I not understand. Write me please more how. In switches I not see any switch for delete bookmarks. Thanks for help.
vincentn1981 16th February 2009, 14:44 TTuser already mentioned earlier that if you want to delete favorites you have to use the switchfile bton:
delete Favorite works only with switchfile BTON
So the switch you have to use is "bton" and then you can delete you favorites. This is a strange thing of course, because bton is not ment for this, but it seems to be interconnected to eachother.
rapon 16th February 2009, 14:58 OK, thanks. This work and favorites are deleted :-) Thanks

I would really love to find a solution for this. I use the headphones a lot since most of the time i use tomtom on my scooter (in my backpack) and the only way to listen to the instructions are the headphones...
@ TTuser: maybe the bug should be added to the "Known Errors" list in the first post of this thread? (if there is no solution obviously :D). however variant it's still a great release.:thanks:

gili98 19th February 2009, 15:59 hello!
First I deleted all files an the 910.
then I copied the Basicpack+ SE_ttsystem.8.310.9760.rar to the TomTom Drive
next ASR
next the SE_ttsystem_8.310.9760 files to TomTom
when I start the TomTom the TomTom Logo Start Screen appear, but no application is coming ?
TT910
have I forgot any steps?
vincentn1981 19th February 2009, 16:06 First you should NOT have deleted all the content of your SD-card, but just have copied the content of the rar files over it.
I think you do either things twice or I miss understand because of your unclear way of writing, but you should now:
- Download and unpack the .cab file from TomTom 8.310 (to copy the some content back to your SD-card)
- Unpack and copy the content of the basicpack8.310 to your SD-card (not really needed, just to be sure you have the right configuration)
- unpack and copy the content of the SE-ttsystem8.310 to your sd-card.
Always select overwrite.
Set up a /Config folder as indicated in the readmenot.txt by upacking the switchfile.rar located in the rar SE_system file.
That should work. At last it does for everybody else.
gili98 20th February 2009, 11:46 hello!
I restored my last backup to my 910 - it started with the "old" version - it works
- then I unpacked and copied the content of the basicpack8.310 to my 910.
- I unpacked and copied the content of the SE-ttsystem8.310 to my 910
- I extraced the switchfile.rar to /config
when I start the 910 yet the first tomtom logo appers after about 3 seconds the startscreen logo apperas but this startscreen logo freezes?? :afraid:

you must download cab 940 from ttuser
you must download the 2 links from the 16th reply(2nd page user 8kookoo) of this thread.
than delete all files in your 920. except the map, voices and art.
copy cab 940. copy ttsystem you downloaded from the first link of 8kookoo.
reboot
than reset under the gps
copy ASR from thesecond link 8kookoo.
reboot

DenoMad 22nd February 2009, 02:58 Thanks TTUser!
This is my first time installing a new navcore I am experiencing a sound issue with my Go 720. The sound will stop working unpredictably.
I have tried installing the voices from this link:
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1972184&postcount=111
but this has not fixed the problem.
I have noticed other Go 720 users have not reported this problem, any suggestions anyone?
Also I have not installed the setmodel.txt or the Config folder because when I put either of these on my 720 it caused the TT to freeze. I do not know if this is related to the sound issue, or if the TT should even be able to work without these files. It does work without them though.
stuffed7 22nd February 2009, 22:36 you must download cab 940 from ttuser
you must download the 2 links from the 16th reply(2nd page user 8kookoo) of this thread.
than delete all files in your 920. except the map, voices and art.
copy cab 940. copy ttsystem you downloaded from the first link of 8kookoo.
reboot
than reset under the gps
copy ASR from thesecond link 8kookoo.
reboot
spoken adress is ok. voices ok.
scuse me for my english
well... still doesn't working :)
but voice commands are ok ... strange
pchappo 23rd February 2009, 15:56 hi all,
i have a TTGo 710, and i am using this navcore - it all works fine except i cannot get it to run in x30 emulation mode - i get corrupted gfx and when i select the screen for the main menu - the TT just freezes.
In x40 emu mode everything is fine and working. I am using 815.2096 map - and currently looking at getting the 815.2003 maps (for IQ / ALG etc)
i would really like it to run in x30 mode, but cannot figure it out as to why it wont work.
Any ideas would be appreciated - oh and BIIGGGGG thanks to TTUSER for the marvelous work!
stuffed7 23rd February 2009, 22:06 well, x30 emu doesn't working on go920 too ..maybe next TTUser's version of 8.310 will fix this 'bug' (?)
..OMG :) wasn't any bug just had maps v.815.2024 installed on my go920,
they are WITHOUT speech recognition files :)
yoyo1 24th February 2009, 21:45 hmm..could someone please confirm that this navcore along with uk 8.15.2003 map will work on a tomtom one xl ? and will IQ2 route work as well ?

1. make a backup of your device
2. read all the instuctions here
3. give it a go "at least try"
4. if it fails? go to no#1
5. if it works? :egdance:
chrisdack 28th February 2009, 13:45 Thank you very much for your answer. I've been <SNIP>
:thanks:
Did anyone answer this for you?
Here's what I've got for my 910 when I'm connected to PC...
version.txt (which triggers a backup job when you start TomTom to create each of the files below)
A:7903
B:9183
The specific contents needed for your go are in the readme for the ttsystem.
ttgo.bif (active bif)
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8204
ApplicationVersion=9718
ttori.bif (which restores to tomtom when you run disconnected from pc)
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8204
ApplicationVersion=9718
ttbak.bif (restored when you are connected to PC)
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
ApplicationVersion=9183
Updating:
I've noticed I need to sometimes overwrite ttgo.bif with no TomTom home running at all before I can run it. Update complains about wrong version, but Okay continues.
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8204
ApplicationVersion=9718
Using tomtom on PC
overwrite ttgo.bif with
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
ApplicationVersion=9183
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 00:29 There's an update which makes this NavCore work for TToneV2, etc., probably all devices which hanged when pressing the navigation screen.
Here is the link, download with IE and rename to .zip and copy and select overwrite contents of the zip file to your SD-card:
http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/plugin/8-310-9760-1.win.2.2.xpi
(if you try to download it with firefox it ask if you want to install it, because .xpi files are usually extension for firefox, so therefore it is easier to use Internet Explorer).
So far I tried:
X40: hangs on pressing navigation screen, zoom in, out and other buttons aren't properly shown as well (looks similar as without using these files and starting up, but there is some difference).
X30: works just fine
X20: works just fine
(Loquendo is NOT working on my TToneV2 (of course..), VocalizerTTS is working.
ALG button in menu is not visable, however you can turn it on/off by pressing the appearntly white image(??) with Advanced Lane Guidance Switch on/off diaplyed below it.
It is strange that x40 emulation is not working actually. If anybody can give a hint...
I wonder how many people are using x40 emulation here on a none x40 device and for whom it works well with this navcore version of course.
I forgot to refer to Nicole1200, whom has found this out for the 8.300SE version ( http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2363890&postcount=126 ), I just copied what he did, but then changed the version numbers. So he deserves the credit.
Asrafil 2nd March 2009, 01:19 Hi all
I'm another one having some headakes with a GO 910 and this Navcore 8.310.9760
This afternoon upgraded with SE versions:
two One's V3 with 8.204, no problems;
one OneXL with 8.204, no problems;
two GO720 with 8.310.9760, no problems
This GO910 freezes in the splash screen. Still have no clue what it is after reading all 22 pages in this thread. But saw a couple of users with the same problem with 910's
Here is what i'm doing:
Internal memory clean
Extracted 8.310.9760 SE Basic Pack and Ttsystem to root
ASR, Voices and maps to root
Created "config" folder and model.txt with "x30" ( also tried with x40 )
Always freezes on splash screen and a reset is needed. The same process on the 720's worked flawless. Can some one shed some light?????
PS: 8.204 works perfect.
ironia 2nd March 2009, 11:58 someone tried it on one v3??
tnx
vincentn1981 2nd March 2009, 13:31 @ironia just download the package I gave the link to above. I am sure it will work in x30 or x20 emulation. I will try maybe tonight and see if I can get it to work in x40 emulation by comparing the basicpack files from TTuser with this strange package provided by TomTom itself.
ajsbonnevile 4th March 2009, 07:44 As usual great work done by TTuser and others, 310 works fine with a Go720, not too sure at thise stage of any advantages over 204.
Cheers
timmi2 4th March 2009, 19:25 How do i install Navcore 8.310.9760 SE Variant on my TT GO 720?
Can someone tell me step by step?

Flaps74 6th March 2009, 20:53 For deleting favorites use the switch bton, that will probably do the trick.
Where do i put the "bton" switch. Which file?
Nomos 9th March 2009, 04:27 "Yes I tried sevral times. How should I see if I have the right mctx.dat etc files. In my mctx.txt following is written,
In France using ViaMichelin
In UK using ITIS
In Finland using Destia
In Italy using Infoblu
In Germany using TMCPro
In Sydney, New South Wales, Australia using Intelematics
In Melbourne, Victoria, Australia using Intelematics
In Brisbane, Queensland, Australia using Intelematics
My mctx.dat file is 52 bytes in size."
-----------------------------------------------------
The Navcore works on my go910
and it works with the x10 voice files
:ilove:
and
TTUser, Thanks
But i have a question yousing TMC because it doesent work on my go.
i have the file mctx.dat but i dont have the mctx.txt file.
i even cant oben in the menu, 3 from 3, TomTom Traffic
this means i have no chance to change the country: Germany, Switzerland, etc. and i cant change manual setting of a FM frequenz or let this do my go.
Does anybody have a go910 and a solution for this problem?

Do you have the updated arial, with the bigger black dongle at the tomtom end of the aerial? If yes, see below. If your dongle is at the tip of the aerial, send it back and get the upgraded one - those ones never worked properly.
If your black dongle is nearest the tomtom end, then are you using the tomtom from battery or powered cradle?
8.2 and 8.3 official TMC RDS are powered and I noticed that there's a software check before tomtom even looks for the existance of an aerial.
Plug it in and then it might still say that not supported on this version, but ignore that and a few mins later should work fine.
sco0ter 10th March 2009, 14:01 My TMC RDS was extremely hit and miss with the 8.3 navcore. It would only work about 30% of the time when device was switched on and could take up to 30 mins to be recognised. I have not had one problem since using 8.4 navcore
Nomos 11th March 2009, 02:06 Thanks for the answers
I am using the old TMC Antenna
my go is instald with this solutions:
http://www.ge-tectronic.de/upload/1196923159_TMC%20Y-Adapter_Verstaerker.pdf
http://www.ge-tectronic.de/upload/Umbau%20TomTom%20TMC-Receiver.pdf
With the original x10 Navcore TMC works fine
But with the Navcore 8.310 my go works extrem fine but i have no TMC
I seems that my go doesnt find a radio broadcasting station.
I cant change the countrys anymore
The problem with 8.410 is that i cant use the x10 voices
I can only use 8.410 with the x30 voices
Because 8.310 works so fine on my go910 i would like to leave it on my go!
But I need TMC
For the people that wont to install a CF Card in a go910,

Nomos 11th March 2009, 23:06 Hi
does anybody no,
for what the file:
tmcevents.dat
is in the Outsourced directory?
Thanks
vincentn1981 12th March 2009, 12:48 @Nomos Try this file:
http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/internal_file/partialupdate/70002.2.mctx-dat.high-end.Aug08.cab
or take other mctx.dat files especially from the NavCore version which made your TMC antenne work fine. That should solve your problem.
Nomos 13th March 2009, 01:34 @ vincentn1981
Thanks
I will try it

Wajo357 1st April 2009, 00:41 Hi,
I am new to all of this Navcore, Maps upgrades. I read through many of the tutorials on this forum, but I am confused as to what I should do in my situation. Any help is grateful. Here is my situation:
1) I bought a GO720
2) I use NAVCORE 8.204 9718 from a 940 system (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=323259)
3) I use NA MAP 815.2019
What I would 'like' is to update the NAVCORE, but still remain with a 940 system AND update the map. Can someone please give me a 'dummy' step by step method to doing this. Any help would be grateful. Please be patient with me.
