Opera Mini enables you to take your full Web experience to your phone. Stay in touch with your friends on Facebook, search with Google, get your e-mail on the go, do your online banking. There are no limits — Opera Mini is the quick, easy and secure way to get any Web page you want.

New in Opera Mini 4.2
Skins
Personalize Opera Mini by choosing a new colorful skin.
Video
We are working to make video content available on more phones through Opera Mini. If you have a new Sony Ericsson or Nokia phone, the chance is high that you can take Opera Mini for a spin on m.youtube.com.
Performance
Opera Mini 4.2 can use our newly established server park in the US. This means significantly faster page page downloads for users in the Americas and Asia-Pacific region.
Sync your Notes
Opera Link support for notes, allowing users to sync their notes between the PC and Opera Mini.

Its all good having a fast browser but does everyone know that this browser as well as Opera mini are proxy browsers.

For those who dont know, this means that whenever you use this browser and opera-mini as well, your web request and sensitive info are sent to skyfire or opera servers and then these browser unencrypt your info i.e. passwords, credit card and banking details, does something to it, very likely stores it somewhere and then re-encrypt it before sending it to your bank or web shopping sites etc?

If you look at their privacy/security faqs, they openly admit this!

see opera mini privacy/security page here - [Only registered and activated users can see links]

see skyfire privacy/security page here - [Only registered and activated users can see links]

So staff tending these servers and the companies themselves that provide these proxy browsers, are privy to your password and bank login and GOD know what else, to use as they please, which includes selling them to whomever!!!

Just some food for thought!

BEWARE and BE-AWARE!

You are better off using your built in full web browser!
Its not as fast as these proxy browsers but your sensitive info are not stored on anyones server

opera mini is a java application, which doesn't need signing.

...u understand that most people prefer NOT to be bothered by prompts wether or not the Java application is allowed to use Network Connection (in case of Opera) ?
