But one suggestion/request: the voice files are huge. Bigger than some maps, actually, and, like me, I'm sure most users only want one or 2 language voice files.

So, it might be usefull if the voice files were grouped by language (such as english uk+us; portuguese pt+br; etc.) instead of all... makes for very loooong d'loads.

Hi i have a Asus p552 PDA, i downloaded all the languages all the sounds but when i try to install it tells me "Fatal error"

Works very well on ETEN X500, although once I have moved the installation folder from device memory, I have to start the program from memory card. I don't sopose there's an application which allows me to change the path of the program in Properties...

It works on my Xperia X1 (800x480 like Touch HD). Try using the SYS.TXT file below, replacing type="ALIAS_XPERIA" with the one for your phone.

Hi, just rename your existing SYS text to something like "SYS2" then copy the one I posted and try it, if it doesn't work then delete it and rename you old SYS text back to "SYS" and you will be back to where you started. I also have 8.0.0.54 and it works on both progs Im using the same for both.

greeting, I apologize if the post wrong or if my question is stupid, I'm beginner and I bought a HTC Touch HD, I know not to install the iGO him, I still uneasy with a lot of versions, search , changes and did not give head, if someone I politely say to me: download this kit is in there, copy or install, and change that thing, and add that and done that, that is a small tutorial to the uni noob, honestly I would just like to pass 1 as the date for a few days I still agonize.

This happens with rapidshare if you click on the free download, you then get the 30 seconds or 80, seconds timer, when that timer runs down you get the final download button, dont ever hit that twice, once you hit it wait, if you hit it twice your screwed, it takes a day, to a day and a half for rapidshare to clear out your IP.

I'll be glad if someone can upload a compressed zip of the igo 8.3.1 for htc touch diamond which runs the app from the internal storage.
any version i try with all the variations of SYS.txt i find, none of them work.
I have the updated maps i want to use, which is far better than the current ones i have on igo 8.0.x but the new maps wont work unless i have 8.3.1 version..

Hi I have the Australia map R15 running on version 8.0.0.35389 April15 2008 working fine but I downloaded the latest Jan 07.2009 software and I get the error saying that maps are out of date . Ok.. I have been at this for literally DAYS and I cannot seem to get iGo to work for me in any capacity. I have HTC Touch Pro, trying to install to the SD card. I have the USA maps from 2009 and content ready to go, but damned if I can get the program itself to load. All the instructions I read say just load folders 2577 and IGo8 to the SD card, and then soft reset.. when I do so I am asked to install the program and that appears to complete. From there, any time I try to run the program it errors out. I have gotten various things such as no language files found, unable to find program application database, etc.

Much as I've been able to figure out you have to load some old version first and then paste the folders for the updated version on top of it. I have tried several versions going back to 8.00.xxxx that claim to be "full version".

Can someone who has this working on a Touch Pro please post step by step as well as what your SYS.TXT file has in it. I'm going nuts :) and I really want to try this against Garmin XT Mobile which I have working.

FINALLY figured it out. And for the benefit of everyone scratching their heads I will try to elaborate the best I can. In the end, I took about 4-5 different versions of "iGo" and merged all the files together, keeping the newest files.

So I decided to cut to the chase and upload the entire goddamn directory, minus the maps/poi/buildings and whatnot.. because those are abundantly easy to find. So here we go.

- Patched version of Nav-N-Go 8 to v8.3.2.71348
- Included all language files needed
- Included all US/British voices (including TTS)
- Correct license included
- SYS.TXT confirmed working for VGA device (Touch Pro)
- These instructions assume you are installing to your storage card
- NO keygens or unlock procedures necessary


HOW TO INSTALL:

1. Go here and download the ZIP file from here - 1. [Only registered and activated users can see links] ~128 MB
MD5: F90A444AC0FBD6399D6B884117598A38 Please host this elsewhere and spread the links! This can only be downloaded 10 times.

2. Unzip into the root of your storage card in a folder called "iGO8" (no quotes)

3. Go get your map files!! I can only point you to the ones I used and confirmed it worked for, which is for North America. I got the DVD from here - [Only registered and activated users can see links] The other map files (for Europe and such) are easy enough to come by on these forums. When you get this content it will correspond to the folders under \Storage Card\iGO8\content and you simply copy these over.

4. Unzip the custom shortcut I attached to this email and place it in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs... this will link to the Mobilenavigator.exe in your Storage Card

5. Now, run the program and set it up and you're golden! If the shortcut I gave you doesn't work, simply navigate to the iGo directory and click on Mobilenavigator

6. Edit the SYS.TXT file as necessary :

NOTES ABOUT SYS.TXT... this is the part you have to mess around with a lot. My sys.txt is written for HTC Touch Pro with VGA screen. I know how to make some modifications to this file to suit your devices needs.. this MUST be done before program will run! If you just want to see the SYS.TXT file I have attached it to this email as wel.. it's the same one that is in the ZIP file from Step 1.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE VGA or WVGA (i.e. QVGA or WQVGA) then do this:

The reason you got the original error message is your directory was iGO8new, not iGO8... thus.. the SYS.TXT was pointing to the wrong place unless you edited it as well to point to iGO8new... make sense?

In order to "upgrade" a version all you have to do is copy the newer files in the root iGO 8 directory over the top of the old ones... you don't need to worry about the lang/voice/content directories.. If you've got an older version working, just copy the newer files over and voila. That's how I did it at least.

At least you have it running tho, eh? :)

Does anyone had a problem after installing iGO the softkeys are not working? I have a Trinity (P3600) and after the iGO installation, the softkeys are not working, and also, the camera is switched on randomly. After uninstalling iGO the problem solved, but it makes me crazy. Especially when during navigation the pda switches to camera.... Is there any idea?

It is quite obvious that no one cares enough for Cyprus to update that OLD map that works on 8.0.xxx and make it work with the new version.
The Garmin map is the most updated for Cyprus.
Lets hope that someone would get it working for the 8.3.xxx version:wave::wave:

Yes there is! But you have to buy it..

R15 Australia map works only with R1 (version 8.0.0), not R3 (version 8.3.x).
Stick with the old version (R1) if you need maps outside of Europe, North America, Israel and Brazil, as these are the only R3 maps that have been available on line.

Cyprus is not available in R3 either.

I'm afraid you can't keep your POIs...try finding a POI manager (like POI Explorer) and see if you can import/export them.

When I start the program I see the Igo screen... Thats normal.
But then I have to wait almost 1 minute !! before it start giving the messages "Init bla bla" etc. During this minute it seems that the
program is stalled (or is it looking for anything?)

Does anybody also has this issue on their Diamond or Pro ???

On the content folder (inside IGO folder) you will find a folder for the building and landmarks, and another one for the terrain

Go to the settings. >> "Device" settings
Change "Power Management" settings to "backlight always on". The screen power stay on.

I had the same problem after inserting a 16GB microSD card and uploading almost 6 GB of mp3 files. Then i deleted those Gig's of music and everything went back to normal.

i have manage to put together a sys.txt for everyone having problems with 3d buildings on their IGO8 NAVIGATION,i have this sys.txt file on htc blackstorm and i can see the buildings in LONDON,its fantastic,i thought i share with everyone good luck:)

HI!!, excellent work, I have a Binatone Carrera A 350 Gps device for the car, I have install
Nav.N.Go.iGO.8.v8.3.2.64029.Final.Multilanguage.PP C.WM5.WM6, and It works,I installed the map for uk, but every time it starts no matter where you wont to go, it starts in london, and it does not recive gps signal from the device.
I have check and the device has signal, so I presume that may be something is wrong with the software.

Now it runs, but i got it frozen in loading the screen of INITIALIZING WARNING DATA, and after a few minutes, it gives the error message "Out of memory. Requiested: 4072, Cache:7522"

There are two sections for maps:
1. NEW 2008 Q4 Maps for iGO 8.3.x series
2. Single MAPS (*.fbl) Maps/for/für iGO 8.3.1 series/Serie

What's the difference? Is it that 8.3.1 maps will not work for iGO 8.3.2 and 8.3.x maps work work for all 8.3 versions of iGO?

Make a copy of the data.zip, rename the original one.
open it -> ui_igo8 and check if the size you need are in.
Delete all the other one. Rename in data.zip
Try again.

Did anyone get iGo to run on an HTC Touch Diamond 2 (aka Topaz) ?

I can't get past the start screen (INIT API). Replacing branding.zip and data.zip (as mentioned in a thread on xda-dev) didn't help either. Wonder if it's the Topaz or the SDHC card I'm using. Experimented with diffent sys.txt's as well already, nothing seems to help...

Ulyssees: INIT API "error" means that you have a bad lisence file. Don't know what you need to get as I don't have the program, but remember I read about that error on a different forum.

Finally I've been able to run this app on my Htc Touch hd. However, what puzzles me is that my GPS signal/connection keeps disconnecting and connecting again in approx. 20sec intervals. I'm really not sure whats wrong, as I have selected GPS port COM4 and selected same COM4 port in iGO8.

Also, I would be intetrested if this app can run in landscape format, or how I can make it behave like that. maybe edit in sys.txt? thnx a lot

Does anyone have the entire package all set up and ready to run for the United States?

I know of a website that can upload 2GB+ in one shot. It's a lot easier then rapidshare. Rapidshare doesn't work for me and when it does it only works on one download. It would take me days to get all the packages I need.

Also, if no one is willing to help, I know 2GB plus is a lot of uploading, could someone clarify this thread? I find it hard to understand where each download is supposed to be placed in the iGo8 directory.

If someone could atleast tell me exactly what links to download from rapidshare or prefferably megaupload. and let me know where to place the content. That would be fantastic. along with step by step instruction


In the past I downloaded everything I needed in about a week's worth of downloading, very painfull, but I still never got it to work. :hardcry: I thought I followed instructions well but no luck, So I deleted everything and forgot all about it, But recently I saw a friend of a friend's iGO8 and I liked it much more then Garmin, so I want to switch to iGO8 but I don't want to fail like I did last time.

Finished downloading the U.S. maps thru part 6. When clicking on part 7 I get the error "The uploader has removed this file from the server."

I've downloaded everything before it went dead.
But I just can't get iGo8 to work for me.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but for now it's telling me that there are no language files and I have language files in the lang folder.

I'm about to give up.

Right here goes and I hope someone can help me step by step.

I have had a MyGuide 3100 Go for a while now after my TOM TOM Go got stolen.

This unit has 2006 software on it... which is so obsolete.

The basemap is 2006.01 with the UK map being 2006.10+

Now i am no way a techy and so need help..

What and how do I update this to get the best out of the unit without having to go out and buy a new unit.
