Nokia Beta labs Magnifier v0.86 S60v3 os9.1

Nokia Magnifier application utilizes the existing camera functionality on your Nokia S60 phone. It can be used to improve readability in every-day life situations such as reading "fine print". Anyone who has difficulty seeing "fine print" or small objects can benefit from using this application readily available on their S60 phone. Nokia Magnifier has a built in stabilizer to reduce the effects of a shaky hand and negative filter enabling users to switch from light to dark backgrounds improving readability. By using the existing camera technology, users can also snap a picture of the enhanced image for later reference.

Usage instructions:



Position the the phone in front of the text you want to read (or whatever you want to magnify)
Click OK button (phone's center key) to start focusing.
If the application can't get a good focus, move the phone a little bit away from the object, and press OK again.
Use the '#' (hash) key to turn stabilization mode on/off.
Use the '0' (zero) key to turn contrast mode on/off.
Use the '*' (asterisk) key to turn negative mode on/off. (the negative mode applies stabilization)
Use the up/down keys to change the zoom factor.
There are also menu options for these features.

This application has been tested to work on the following devices:


N95, E90, N82.
Should work for any S60 3rd Edition with auto-focus camera support

Users have reported that it doesn't work on the following devices:
E71, N85, N96

A great app and a must have tool...Tried it on nokia E71, gets installed but as app starts gives error "Get error -1".Then applications starts and works but image quality very bad...focusing by up and down button works but magnification doesn't....Hope to see the full E71 support soon...Nokia we are waiting!

this application need autofocus feature. so it doesn't work with non autofocus camera phone.

I also got 'get update error-1' when I run the application and also when I try to focus by pressing the ok button. Otherwise working fine. What is this error and how to fix it? I guess it is a bug and if not fixed, I can not use this really helpful application. Without being able to focus the image is too blurred...Mansur.

very useful apps however my phone N93 can't run it.when I press middle key,it isn't auto-focusing yet it's noisy sound of autofocus (N93 optical noise zoom) annoy me which I uninstall this app after first try ;)

N78 ,not working here either, get error-1 when starting and trying to focus.
looks like this camera type is not supported, cannot control autofocus properly.

Working on my N95 but nothing special ... Child toy from Nokia ... this cannot be substitude for magnifier even closer one ...
