Provide support for Nokia 5800 (S60 touch screen).
Provide a background service that monitors incoming messages which may contain information used by Garmin Mobile XT. A new setting will allow the user to turn this option off (Tools -> Settings -> System -> Launch Background Service).
Improve map drawing performance.

You must first old version uninstalling from applications manager!

really don't know what's up with my 5800.. garmin black screen would just open n quit in like 1 second and nothing happens then..

I uninstalled previous version, installed the update to the memory card, moved the master files (sis,...) to the Garmin folder, and finally runned the sis to install last version! ;)

oh s..t! thats why i dont upload on rapidshare. rapid links removed. please try the z share links. u can download fast and many files at the same time for free.

Turn OFF your i560
Turn i560 back ON
Launch JBak Taskman to see if TSRAutoStart.exe is running in Memory in Menu -> Tools -> Processes even though it's set as DISABLED by default in Tools -> Settings -> System -> Launch Background Services.



If TSRAutoStart.exe is running after i560 is turned ON, do this:


START GarminMXT v5.0.0.30, goto Tools -> Settings -> System -> Launch Background Services and change to ENABLED.

I don't like the splashsreen include in this cool standalonepack so I found nice pictures and I created 6 splasshscreens. Rename kimi.mbm (for example:D ) in Splash.mbm and copy it in E:\Resource\Apps.

My apologies, i560 stands for Samsung SGH-i560 mobile phone that also uses Symbian OS9.x.

Garmin should should look and behave the same in your Nokia.

So when I say turn ON or OFF i560, this also means to turn ON and OFF your NOKIA mobile.

Hi,

When you save the SW.UNL in notebook, make sure the SAVE AS TYPE is set to ALL FILES and not as *.txt. If you have it set to *.txt, it will append .txt to the filename and GarminMXT won't recognise it as a serial licence file.

Ok found it,when u have to set the SW.unl file you have to copy to keygen not the card ID but the msni at 5800 :P :P

Did you actually tried this yourself? I try to connect the phone but it doesn't find the device, even with gmxt started. Maybe it's a different version of mapsource, maybe one tailored for mobile devices..

You have to create the sw.unl file with keygen first and the put it in garmin folder.

I think i pressed "connect to garmin gps" to get past that. Then you can get imsi code from options and with that create sw.unl file.

I'm installing this for the first time on the E71, do you copy over the "Standalone" files first to you SD card then copy the "upgrade files" to SD and then run the SIS file on the Nokia?

just to share, i xperienced some defects in color & auto exit of the program after using upgrade (from ver 5.00.20 to 5.00.30) on my 5800. so here's what i did that ultimately worked flawlessly;
1) i uninstalled existing, removed all garmin files in e: drive (except existing gmapsupp.img, gmapsupp.unl & sw.unl files) to make sure clean uninstall
2) plug in as storage drive mode. copy entire dloaded standalone files & folders to e:
3) detach USB cable, run GarminMobileXT.sis from phone
4) voila! no more color defects nor probs nor virtual key!!!

It has nothing to do with Drakkarious, Garmin is signed, so it should run if you did everything right. Read again instructions an try again.

But I don't get it... the last version before this, I have installed with SW.UNL generated key before running install file, but this version as I figure it out, it must be installed first, and then after running Garmin for first time, generate SW file...

I've read all posts but no solution for EXPIRED CERTIFICATE. I had no certificate problems with other phones only with this Nokia 5800. Can you advise me were is a problem and how to solve it?

I never had problems with Garmin until now, I don't now is that because of the new firmware or something else, I just know that I really pay attention at suggestions and instructions, Install it and I can't open IT - Garmin! Start from Scratch, Install the standalone application,
after installation, start GarminXT and then when you see the screen with options like: buy, trail etc then you choose use external GPS and you are in the application. You can then find the ID number. :wave:

remove all, clear registry everything, also the SW.unl etc. get the standalone version and copy that to the memory card. then start de garminxt.sis from the phone. That should work, if not I have no clue. Do a hard reset op the phone, that might do the trick at the end.

Yes, same problem here also. Must still be a few bugs to iron out, but its a very good start ;)

if you want to unlock garmin you better use english language in the program.for a strange reason when i use greek language it gives me in settings-information a different device id which is wrong.i turned it to english,it gave me different code and the keygen worked. i cant explain it

You realize that if it work for so many people, the usual thing is that you have done something wrong. There where lot of members who say that they did everything right, and in the end they realize that they didn't read carefully, they hurry to install it and skip something.
So, format your memory card, read again carefully and start from the scratch. Don't forget to run the sis file. It must work if you do it right.

I added some custom poi:s to Garmin that imported origininally from Google Maps, converted etc. Then I just added .gpi file to Garmin/POI folder and for example speedcams I added same way, and that works, tested last weekend, gives sound notice when speedcam ahead.

Usually you have to use card ID or Unlock ESN. Not IMEI. I don't have IMSI.
But read carefully the instructions. Be sure not have TXT extension. If you did it right, the four choices will disappear.

i installed first the standalone version, than the "only" files
but the standalone version was already version 30 for me, i checked 3 times, it is the 80gb file..
is that the problem?

What I am interested in is the navigation. Does it work fine? I have gone back to version 4.8 because when I tried to update to version 5 last year, twice, the navigation was off as compared to earlier versions. I was hoping they would have fixed it by now

Thanks, have it working on my 5800 works great with touch screen.
Only problem; Garmin looses sound when the phone also connect to my BT carkit.
Not sure wether it's a bug from Garmin or a bug from the 5800 Nokia.
(I think it's the 5800, it probably thinks I want all sound over BT... so also sends Garmin sound over BT, which I don't hear because the carkit (alpine radio) is already playing my iPod, though phonecalls go over BT as it should.)

Anyone know a way to force Garmin to send sound over the phone speaker?

Now here are some tips for all everybody (incldig the girls ;-)) who don't seem to get it installed, as I re-created your problems


1.) remove all previous installed versions including the unl and map files!!

2.) install the standalone version (copy all files) and after that install the SIS

3.) start Garmin XT and choose the the English language when installing

4.) Close Garmin XT

5) start Garmin XT again and choose option: connect to Garmin GPS

6.) Then find the Device id and write it down

7.) Close Garmin XT

8.) use key generator 1,5

9.) create the SW.unl (do not get the maps unl yet) and copy it to e:\Garmin

10.) start Garmin XT and now you should not get the options anymore, go to the GPS icon (left top) and choose internal GPS.

11.) CLose Garmin XT

12.) Fire up Mapsource and follow directions how to install maps

13.) When you have transfered the maps, go to key generator again and generate the keys needed for the maps.

14.) do all the key bit stuff for the maps and fire up Garmin XT again.

15.) IT shoud work now, tested and confirmed, NO excuses!!!!!

16.) Change language, Voice etc.

17.) ENJOY the RIDE

I think this step is important and people didn't understand.
You will see this screen the first time when you open Garmin. Choose "Connect to a Garmin GPS" , cancel the bluetooth device search then go to Tools/Settings/About in order to note the Card Id and make the SW.UNL file with KG1.5.

maybe also of interest: in the "about" screen of garmin, there are three different numerbs. and the imei one is the code you are looking for. only after "registration" it says esn. so it was with me. and it is not the imei of the hardware phone.

Will this not work using internal GPS? I did the SW.UNL thing, so it opens up without the trial screen.

However, it starts with SEARCHING FOR GPS DEVICES and it does not find any.

go to settings in Garmin, then choose sytem and then disable background service :weedman:

can confirm the above. if you disable it, the tsrautostart.exe is only running if garmin is on.

My problem is that when i send a waypoint/ routes (created in Mapsource) to my device, it say file sucessfully transferred, but i cannot find this waypoint/routes when using my phone. It is supposed to be under the "my locations' folder. It is not even displayed on the map.
When i tranfers waypoints back from my phone into mapsource, i can see the waypoint/routes again on the mapsource map.

any idea of what i am doing wrong, or is this procedure no longer possible?

after a few tense hours i finally have Garmin working on my 5800 :dance::wave::dance2: I thought illusion would have cracked Nokia maps - but Garmin feels alot more like a sat nav! rep+ realceday and aristotelhs2060 for all the information.. everything is working great but i have noticed two things;

1. When I press the 'turn preview' button garmin crashes :confused:

2. Once in a while I get this weird sound and F30 error or something like that.

I have my custom POI's installed (as I did on previous versions) but they do not show up on the maps! I've tried reloading the POIs and they still do not show up on the maps. Can anyone help me out? I didn't have this problem on previous versions.

Don't copy Garmin folder! Copy each folder one by one (sys, Resource...) in Garmin folder in your phone, it will work!

Guys i'v been having problems with garmin for a while now, done the update and it still happens.

When using garmin for 10mins or so, the back light goes off and it stops working...then it comes on again and continues the journey. This never used to happen when garmin 1st came out but it started after updates (months back)

I have done the new update and disabled the service option. Any one had this problem and know how to fix it?

Version 5.00.10 does and after installing the battery is empty after one day or earlier.

Sounds normal, if A-GPS is not turned on.
Remember, A-GPS transfers data so that cost some money, depending your data transfer rate.

Go to Settings/General/Positioning/Positioning Methods and check Assisted GPS, and check Assisted GPS, Integrated GPS and Network Based. Garmin will select the right one.

Could someone please help?I succesufully installed Garmin XT 5.00.30 on my 6220 classic by the tutorial on this forum without any problems and Adriaroute 2.20 and map of Europe NT2009.Everything works well, but still there is problem.When i first Garmin XT and enter adress where to go, it makes the route ok.The problem starts when i take my phone in my arm to answer a call still inside my car it loses GPS signal, and after that Garmin can not find satellite signal anymore.it says "waitng for better satellite reception" or like that on my country language.Then i must go to settings where i must manually select inbuild GPS and confirm it.After that it calculate new route ok.How to solve this! please. can it be because of this version of Garmin, because on 5.00.20 it was not happening? thanks people!

I have got a Nokia 5800XM (Symian S60v5) that I connect up to my CK3300 GPS. Only problem is ALL sounds come through the kit, including when I am using my SatNav software, which as you can imagine is extremely annoying! Every time the nice lady tells me where to go, it cuts out my stereo - can I change something so the SatNav sounds are played just through the phone and not the car kit??

Never had this issue on my old Windows Mobile phone....

Any ideas??

I have an "alike" problem.
After the phone paired with my carkit radio, I can use it to call people. But the voice of Garmin is gone after the first sentence.... No Garmin sound at all, not through the phone, nor through the carkit.
I would like to use the call option to go through the paired carkit, but the garmin sound still through the 5800, or if that ain't possible the Garmin also through the carkit. Whatever, but not the way it is now... Garmin sound gone.

does this version support i900 Omnia? and where can I get europe and middle est maps?

Try changing back the date in your phone. If the problem still exist, try a hard reset, if not, you have to update your software.

Works on Nokia 5800 but need virtual Key to get around setup. Version 5.00.40 supports touch screen so use this version instead.

Trying to get this installed onto my N85. I downloded the standalone folder:

When i've extracted it the keygen folder is missing? Only the following folders show up Garmin,private,resource,sys,garminmobilext.
Where can I find the keygen?

i have a wierd problem. i can do everything, watch maps, look for poi, but when i start to navigate and it gets to second direction, it just closes itself and i have to start it again and even then it still hangs when i reach to second direction...

If you want a quick solution (which i found out for myself), goto options click on click on Default settings, and then choose display least on map settings. Works for me, must be a memory problem. It cant handle all the information displayed.

You didn't share with us what kind of phone you have. I assume Nokia 5800. Anyway, if you set back the calendar in your phone and still doesn't work, you have to update your software. Read more about it on Nokia website.

you cannot be putting the right software on it.i did it with the wrong software and it did the same. got the proper 5800 version and it works a treat except it takes 5 mins longer than my n82 to get a sat signal :hardcry:

Hard reset won't solve your problem, even some wrote few posts above that this is a solution. It isn't. I had two 5800 with the same problem, the only solution was to rewrite the software(update).

The phone software is the problem, not the Garmin one.

Not bad, touch interface works well, but the app still hangs frequently on 5800. Any fixes for this?

Installed perfect on a Nokia 5800 after four hours of fidgeting and uninstalling! . Just make sure the sw file shows as a UNL file and not a .txt document otherwise the product will not unlock.

Also, I had to change the name of my Europe NT 2009.11 map from gmapsupp to gmapsup2 even though I didn't have any other map in the folder.

Well worth it though.

takes ages to connect to get a gps fix ,proper ages 5 mins min and when it does finally find sat's its saying assisted-gps and i think im being charged for it ,(might as well use nokia maps lol.)

but on my n82 it connects within 30secs to the sat's and says internal gps

Well when i had my E71 i used sygic mcguider, which was way better. Only been using garm on my 5800 cos thats all i could get. But now theres a new sygic v7.71 which works excellently on 5800!! Search the forums for "sygic mobile 2009", and "sygic new maps 2009.03".

This is quite odd. I can't find the keygen within the zip file that I just downloaded. Where is it hidden? Sorry, it is probably quite a n00b question, i'm used to doing stuff like this, but it has me baffled!
