If you are referring to auto night/dim, it has never functioned using any x40 Navcore with x40 emu on a lesser device. I voice command my 720 to night view/day view.

Ron21 7th March 2009, 23:50 This navcore has improved the speed of calculating routes. When you calculate a new route, it first calculates the route then loads the map. Before it would do these two things together.

One difference I see, route building is quicker. It now builds the route before it displays it. Previously it did them both at the same time. It seems the computer voices are enunciating better. Over all operation seems faster. I don't see any menu changes/ new eye candy.

Live services are only available in Europe at this time. Coming to the US later this spring. Live services require a gprs receiver. The x40 series has one built in. Most of the services are subscription. If you are still interested, there is a vehicle power cable that has a built in gprs receiver.
moley85 8th March 2009, 02:39 im in the uk, so live services are available, if i get this power cable with the reciever in it, even tho i have a 520 and not a x40 model?

tjilitjap 8th March 2009, 02:42 Great! This one is indeed working on a GO910. I only ask myselve where this navcore is coming from. I have serious doubts whether this one will be officially released in Europe. Only the chinese and other foreign navcores have a PNDNavigator in them...
Big applause to the person who was able to crack this ttsystem to make it work on a GO910. This guy should get the title "The Master" same like TTuser. Those 2 guys together can make everything work I believe.
Thanks a lot! Gr Tjilitjap :ilove:

So there is a problem so fare.
Thanks anyway for this ew version.

I've tried to set the model to ori, X20, X30 and X40 but no difference.
I can't even go back to core 8.300 (did a complete reinstall and also used the TomTom Clear Flash tool). It still freezes when docked. Anyone have any ideas?
I also tried to remove the Outsourced.8410 folder but no luck.
Thx in advance!

TomTom unveils new High Definition Traffic Receiver
~For the first time new and existing TomTom GO products become HD Traffic Ready~
Amsterdam, 3 March 2008 - TomTom, the world’s leading provider of navigation solutions, today announced the launch of the HD Traffic™ Receiver which will deliver TomTom’s advanced traffic information to existing and new TomTom customers. The HD Traffic Receiver has a built-in SIM card for GPRS connectivity and plugs into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter. Available as a stand-alone accessory, as well as being included in the box of selected models within the TomTom GO family, it comes with a six month subscription to the TomTom HD Traffic service.
Thanks to its unique approach of combining the best traffic data from multiple sources, TomTom HD Traffic allows users to easily plan the smartest route to their destination. With HD Traffic, users receive more traffic updates so that they are better informed about the traffic situation on their route, and receive more accurate travel and arrival times. In addition, HD Traffic covers more roads, so drivers know in advance that the alternative route they take is actually a smarter option, thus avoiding any unnecessary delays.
The HD Traffic information service is currently available in the Netherlands and is planned to be rolled out in Germany this year. The French service will be launched in 2009.
“For all drivers, avoiding traffic jams - before and during their journey - is crucial to getting to their destination,” said Harold Goddijn, chief executive officer, TomTom. “With the HD Traffic Receiver, now TomTom GO customers can benefit from our superior HD traffic information.”
The HD Traffic Receiver makes receiving traffic information very easy. Drivers simply insert one end into the mini-USB port of their TomTom device, and the other into the cigarette lighter adaptor of their car. The new TomTom HD Traffic Receiver features a GPRS modem and is powered by a 12-24 volt cigarette lighter adaptor. With a built in Lithium-ion battery, a weight of only 128 grams and measuring at 122 mm x 45 mm x 25 mm, the TomTom HD Traffic Receiver is completely portable.
Pricing & availability:
The existing TomTom products that the HD Traffic Receiver will be compatible with are:
• TomTom GO 930 (T)
• TomTom GO 730 (T)
• TomTom GO 530 (T)
• TomTom GO 920 (T)
• TomTom GO 720 (T)
• TomTom GO 520 (T)
The HD Traffic Receiver will be offered at a recommended retail price of Euro 99.95, including a six month HD Traffic subscription worth Euro 60. It will also be included with the new TomTom GO 730 HD Traffic and the new TomTom GO 930 HD Traffic.
The HD Traffic service is offered for an all-inclusive fixed fee. This features no hidden costs and the subscription can be easily renewed after its initial duration.
The HD Traffic Receiver will be made compatible with other TomTom products later this year through a software update, in all countries where HD Traffic is available.
For more information on TomTom HD Traffic, please visit: www.tomtom.com/hdtraffic

When you press those buttons it either moves the map to your destination or to your home location automatically.
Try browsing the map and move it around you'll see those buttons show up.

GhostCom 8th March 2009, 13:57 Did you install the ttsystem file from my post 37 ?
I did - but no luck!
I remember that when I installd the 8.300 core, there was a bug concerning connecting TMC antenna showed up every time I docked the Go 910 (no matter if it was in the car or the pc). Pressing the OK button made the msg go away and the system worked just fine. I can't stop thinking if the problem is somwhat common here? The difference is just that the GO 910 freezes and reboots after a minutte instead of just displaying the message about the TMC antenna.
I don't know what to do :(

rytenuff 8th March 2009, 22:23 @tjilitjap
LoquendoTTS is for your DEVICE to give you information, street names etc.
ASR Speech Recognition is for YOU to instruct your device by your voice to do things like navigate to an address, etc.
That is why you can have TTS on a device without a microphone but you cannot have Speech Recognition if you don't have a mic. Well you could but it would be pointless.
Loquendo has NOTHING to do with Speech recognition.
Look at the map charts. It doesn't say TTS enabled as it is not a function of the map but it will say ASR enabled if the map has that facility like 825.2157

tendriver 8th March 2009, 22:38 ChillyCat,
FWIW, I had 8.310 on my 720. To upgrade to 8.410, I made a copy of my entire 720 root, excluding the map folder, then copied the 8.410 stuff into the device with an overwrite. If you wiped your device first, that could be your problem.

the maverick 9th March 2009, 00:27 to lads with go920 : is GPRS workin ?
I put navcore on my SD card after copying everything across from the internal drive and GPRS didn't initially work, but when trying traffic for the second time, things locked up and after a bit, it rebooted and then traffic via my phone worked.
I have only just started trying this out, but it is looking so far like a vast improvement from 8.302. Certainly if traffic works for me, i'll be very happy.
Oh, I did not alter any previous files like model.txt or anything else, I literally just overwrote with TTuser's version, even the TTHome stuff as I was curious to see if things worked.
Now I am going to play around with TTHome
Traffic also works in home as does Weather etc. This is great
I have a GO720 that thinks or thought it was a GO730, now it is getting schitzophenic and doesn't know what it is :yourock: TTuser
Ok, mp3 plays perfectly, once I put to internal speaker, but will use FM in the car.
Yes traffic, weather etc works fine and from TTHome too. This is the best navcore I have come across
clonepony 9th March 2009, 00:29 Several problems so far on a go 710,
fm does not work as before, so does the TMC function.
But when it is docked, it searches for TMC signal for ever, who knows how to disable this?
Another problem is lagged sound/video in ttmplayer, it must be due to this navcore as in navcore 8.3 it is normal.
yDdraigGoch 9th March 2009, 00:29 Got it working OK on a 710 - only niggle is that I have to accept the legal notice on every boot up, is that normal or any idea on a fix?are you using the switch files?
only loaded to see what the fuss was & deleted it again but think i saw something in the setconfig.txt...
check the descriptions & which one clears the ram on shutdown/boot...
lessram 9th March 2009, 00:48 TTUser thank you for this great working version. I never expected there would be a newer version then 8.204 which really would run smooth on a TTOne. Expected the TTOne to be a closed chapter. But now I have a smooth 8.410, running ALG, IQRoutes, RDS/TMC and even Loquendo !!
When enabling the x40light emulator (to run Loquendo on a TTOne) their are two options I really miss;
1) play demo route
2) remove route
Is there a way to enable those options again (under x40light) ?
================
EDIT:
Oeps those options aren't gone, only placed to a menu screen where I never used the buttons.
After you planned the route, on the below of the screen there are 3 options;
DETAIL - CLEAR ROUTE - OK
Previously I used those options from the main menu (MAIN MENU PAGE 2 or 3)

I see to have had than on navcore from 8.300 onwards and on this one too.
Biggest feature/benefit for me is Traffic via GPRS works as I never managed to get it to with 8.204.
If it starts up and shuts down with the ignition in the car, I will send TTuser a bottle of finest Polish vodka because I have missed this since my 710 days and I am not using noautosuspend.dat either, so that is not the cause.

I stand corrected !
The menu is so familiar with me that I never seen expected to find those options there. Blindly focussed on the place where I expected those buttons to be.
cleodanie 9th March 2009, 11:32 Hello Stuffed,
Thanks for your answer.
So i found a folder called "text" and inside i have "config". When i open i have "Current Emulation: x40 BT: 1 Run in Save RAM Mode Cleaning disabled". So if i understand what you said, i have to change to x30 and replace config to root ot my TT? Do i have to keep the text folder or can i cancel it after?

paris2k 9th March 2009, 12:06 ANY PERSONALIZATION OR IS ttuser version??
I have added
- the original TT Splash, Suspend, LowBattery bmp file (no wide)
- added one german language
- added the system 5.5022, and the new 5.5122 extra
- in Config\setconfig.txt there are following config lines:
runclean
sdid:1
changedtext:TomTom One
ttsoff
btoff

The rest is original from TTUser.

It's all original TTUser !! He created those switch files. :punish: ;)
But more interesting; explain why you use the sdid:1 switch ?
Isn't this only usefull when you use more then one SD card?
paris2k 9th March 2009, 13:15 I use 2 SD cards, one with DE-AT-CH and one with Western and Central Europe.
Is it a problem for other people, which uses only one?
lessram 9th March 2009, 13:28 no it ain't a problem for single-SD-users. Was just curious whether it had other reasons to include it in an item specific dump.

jsoft 9th March 2009, 13:42 I have a good feeling about this new navcore on my TTGO510-BL 5.5022:
- Even faster boot than previous one I had, 8.204 Rev.1.5
- Message of PC-Conection appears on screen again.
- Loquendo Voice doesn't seem as loud as before, or ... is it only in my imagination?
:thanks:TTuser
Same good feeling here, only difference with this navcore is that now cursor is 20 meters (60 feet) late compared to real position. Do you have the same problem?
lessram 9th March 2009, 14:05 :oom:

BTOFF and after that BTON has a reason when I am right.
BTOFF ofcourse disables BlueTooth functions, but after that you cannot delete Favorites anymore. Funny thing is that if you use BTON after that, Bluetooth stays away but the option to remove favorites appear again.
It's strange but that's what I read a while ago. But to make it more clear, this was related to NC 8.204 in combination with TTOne.
So personally I don't know wether it's needed again (but because he wrote it I assume he did test it)
ironia 9th March 2009, 14:17 i'm able to delete favorite with btoff with 8.410
with 8.204 i have to set bton

I don't understand if is the same as ONE where this is possible...

Tex88 9th March 2009, 16:35 all Features, Function, Use similar as already known, read readme for exact Infos
Fixes this problem:
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=338980
Adds a "distance and bearing to Home" marker to "browse map" mode.
Restores "Hide/Show Lane Images" icon missing that had gone missing in 8.410"notx40"
POI details that were displayed white on very light gray in 8.410"notx40" (nigh invisible) are now black on white again.
Favorites can be deleted again. That had nagged me since 8.204
Oh...yeah, works on a One LE.

You see what we are up against? Can you see the a FAQ section will just invite comments like D'er what does FAQ stand for, does it mean my Traffic HQ will work and how can I get my Garmin running better. There are some very valid posts and damn good questions, but they get marred by such stupid noobs who, if they can read, give absolutely no willingness to do so and many that expect us to wet-nurse them.
Now please do not castigate me for my open frankness, but really, have you seen some of the questions they ask? Sometimes only a couple of posts earlier they have been answered and more commonly, many times.
Take the Meta thread for example. Why the hell does someone think that they need to keep adding blowfish codes when they are already listed? Are they thinking someone will suddenly delete them?
Why do people give blowfishcodes with no maps? Where the hell do they come from, but the original map files on the units licenced. And for what purpose does someone upload a map without a blowfish code?
yDG is doing a superb job. His patience is phenomenal, but FFS, please read before you post and remember most of our work is done through a willingness to help others, but please do not think we are here to read aloud to you before you get tucked up in bed chaps and chapesses.
Sorry if I have offended anyone. Not deliberately I assure you. At the moment I am fixing several PNAs from colleagues, clients and a few who actually pay decent money for me to waste my time reading, because they cannot be bothered to.
Rant over, have a superb evening, night etc. 8.410 is superb and thank you TTuser. I know others were involved, but we all know who does the actual fixes. Actually some of you might not. Give your reps to TTuser, a first rate coder.
retrobot 10th March 2009, 01:41 Nice! Thank you TTuser. Got it working perfectly on my one on a blank sd card. All I had to do was copy in my startup/shutdown pics and my voices afterwards.
jinx10000 10th March 2009, 01:55 Has anyone seen flickering/blinking on this Navcore with a 910?
If so, any fix for this?
staid 10th March 2009, 01:57 Seems to work stable at old ONE v1, only BlueTooth keeps crashing (perhaps because different hardware on old v1 vs newer models?). I Can connect it with my phone, but when trying to use Buddies or Weather it kicks You off the menu (back to main screen). BT keeps connecting and disconnecting with phone, if left it on. This seems to be same problem with all ONE dumps and other unofficial Navcore versions so far (@ v1 ONE)- but its not a big deal really.
I think (no real measuring done) that calculating new route is faster, and vehicle positioning _may_ follow better on map when driving (needs still more testing). I think that new 825 maps have something to do with faster route calculating too, since I think after new map (before 8.410) it was faster than 815 map. Or could it be that new Navcore versions work better together with newer maps? Or its just me..... :hehe:
Anyway, very good update, Thanks Very Much TTuser! :urtheman:

I've cannot report that I have any problems on my 710. Seems to be flawless.
For the 720 it is the best navcore ever installed on this unit and it is flawless.
Literally went from v8.203 straight to 8.410, deleted switchfiles, used yDG for patch of home and nothing to report wrong.
Have a few issues with OneXL at the moment, but sure not insurmountable. Seems to run better from SD card than unit, but I was tired when I installed and possibly my fault. Tomorrow is another day.
I am over the moon. Driving tomorrow and if it shutsdown automatically and starts up the same, a good vodka is on the way to TTuser. I am talking Go 720 here - my schizo beasty, that has never shut down or rebooted properly since I got it. But so far all is fan tabby dosey.
Basically I leave my 710 doing what it does best - navigating. I play with my 720 and try to gain the extra mile. This navcore for 720 does this and more.
All I did was over write 8.320 with SE navcore 8.410, nothing more. So I have cleaned things up a little since, but not much.
I really hope the rest you you guys and dolls are enjoying this navcore. It is the frst that gives GPRS properly (I use x30) in model.txt, but that seems to be only change
the maverick 10th March 2009, 02:37 TTuser, if you give yDG your postal address, I will sent you via UPS if it is ok, or PM me mate. I feel I really owe you this time

you are so right. Hence - You are the weakest link - goodbye to the prat that did not know premium was better than standard.
It really grieves me to see and hear how the pass mark in exams has improved over recent years.
It just undermines proper education standards that some gain points and pass when quite frankly they should not. I work with young people with degrees that are unable to write a correct sentence, misspell words and write the most obtuse English imaginable.
When you consider we have people writing here from all over the world and yet an English person does not know the difference between standard and premium, how can anyone have faith in educational standards?
As you probably know, I work in about 7 languages fluently and another 2 not so fluently and some others at a rudimentary level, I am appalled at the lack of education of our youngsters. (In UK) In Romania, I was told off by a 6 year old for correctly saying "you mean whom, surely, not who" (gf's son, so excused)
Sorry, yet another rant over.
Actually, the thing that concerns me, is that some say TTuser does not write good English. Well in fairness, his English is really easy to understand. In Europe, the words are often in a different order from the way we write a sentence, but before anyone says another word about TTuser's English, let it be noted that our own English speaking public are letting the side down.
If I could speak, or more correctly write, in some of our neighbours languages, I would be happier. I know I fall short or correct translational abilities and rely a lot on colleagues helping me out. I bet between us in this forum we work in about 14 or more languages
We ought to know our own language properly though !!!!!

What a very good question.

rocket98 10th March 2009, 12:56 On my 910 everything seems to works great.
However I have a few observations:-
1. For RDS-TMC to work correctly in the car cradle, I found that the TomTom 910 must be off and the ignition off. Then place the 910 into the car cradle and then turn on and wait for it to load. Then you can start the car, and the 910 will not freeze.
2. My 910 would take over a 1 minute to load when first turned on, but after disabling "Bluetooth" it loads within seconds.

You need to replace the dll provided by TTuser in the folder of the official navcore for your device:
For example assuming your navicore is 8.010 (if different use that), in XP:
- go to
C:\Documents and Settings\???\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxx.default\extensions\N avcore.8.010.9363@tomtom.com
- copy in that folder all the files including the dat** files, but excluding install.rdf (important: this must remain original if not Home will try to download again) provided for the emulator by TTuser (you find them in basic pack. Read the readme provided )
- rename 8-410-1218-1.dll to 8-010-9369-1.dll (erase this first)
Now it will work ;)
PS for Vista you find the folder in
C:\Users\???\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\ xxx.default\extension\

again inbuilt "Solution" for x00 GPS Prob
x40light changed a little, heard this works better, old x40light now under x40light2 available
Thank you TTuser!
Tried on my ONE 3rd the new x40light emulation and it's works A LOT better (using with TTS).
Now it goes in suspension mode properly, not rebooting every time. Plus it doesn't seem to suffer of the occasional freeze anymore.
Also GPS signal is better.

Does that mean that I will be able to use an "official" release with ALG+IQ and TTS? (in 8.010 there were no alg+iq as far as i know).
Why is available on tomtom servers while they don't mention it at all on the website or through update in tomtom home?

BiggerDave 10th March 2009, 16:53 TTuser "gets hold of" official but sometimes only beta versions of navcores & tweaks to suit most other models for us as his SE versions so the "official version" may never actually be available through TTHome.

bton (you can save some extra ram by disabling bt in the menu), fmoff, nomsg, rm, runclean, ttsoff
Having an other TTone regional (with 2GB internal ram), same settings, same free ram, same NC, works brilliantly.
lessram 10th March 2009, 21:12 The receivement of GPS is unbelieveable !! Like others said before; previous in house I never received any satellite, now I have about 5 !!
One remark; The BlueTooth chips always stays on, whether you use BTON / BTOFF, or a combination. My phone keeps seeïng it !
With BTOFF the BT menu items are gone, and Current Configuration says BT:0 but still my phone sees it. So The chip stays on.
Curious; What is that icon underneith the satellite receivement ? Is this an icon for a GPS-Mouse ?

In TTHome I have it with this Questionmark. But on my TomTom I see it with a red cross.
lincsat 10th March 2009, 22:05 I now have this running pretty well on my 710. I still have the legal notice on boot up despite trying several config switches. I have noticed then when rmoving the SD card with the unit in standby, it starts up itself. RDS-TMC is working well with a fast lock, satellite lock is quick, even indoors.
One bug I have noticed, I have the unit set to power off when external power is lost, it does this OK but will not restart without pressing the reset switch. Anyone else noticed this or have a fix? I have switched off the power off facility for now, but would prefer to use it if poss :)
lessram 10th March 2009, 22:13 To get rid of that Legal Notice;
use the x40light2 switch (instead of x40light)
It boots faster (because suspend now works and doesn't crash) and that Legal Notice won't appear anymore.
be known; you have to restart it 1 or 2 times before it's really gone, has to do with writing the settings while shutting down.

Just tried the x40light2 switch and the unit doesn't now restart without pressing the reset switch - seems to boot just as quick either way. I've even tried the usesetting flag
lessram 10th March 2009, 23:16 This x40light2 solved the problem you had in my case. Though I have a TTOne v2. Mine also kept starting with this Legal Notice screen. But was solved with x40light2 (Did you restart the TT about 2 or 3 times afterward ? Sometimes you have to keep on pushing the on/off button several times before it starts, but after 3 times, all problems were gone here)

First THANKS TTUSER!!! Great job!! I use a GO910 on a fm transmitter cradle, it works really perfect, exept two small things:
1) sometimes the streets disappear and you can only see the area, it happens for a quarter of a second, sometimes one time, sometimes two or three times in a short period. it looks like a refresh of the map.. What the hell is that??
2) i can#t send the navigation voice to the fm transmitter, in the menu, there is no option for it, BUT my music works with the fm transmitter and i can check the box in the music speaker settings... Its not a big thing, but maybe someone has an idea??
Skippy88 11th March 2009, 02:19 To get rid of that Legal Notice;
use the x40light2 switch (instead of x40light)
It boots faster (because suspend now works and doesn't crash) and that Legal Notice won't appear anymore.
be known; you have to restart it 1 or 2 times before it's really gone, has to do with writing the settings while shutting down.
Hi I have TT One v2 with a 2GB card, how do I switch to x40light2 please? also I cannot get some maps to work with this navcore, I am successfully running Nth America v800.1762 but cannot get Nth America 825.2157 or USA & Canada 825.2159 to work, patched ok and copied in dct but still says you cannot use maps. Anyone else had this problem?
Zebra92 11th March 2009, 03:20 Hello all,
This new navcore looks good in real navigation with a GO 910 but I must start je GPS before docking it in the car to revent a hard reboot aftera 1 mn wait wikth a dark screen.
Every thing is working for now, the sound level is good, the route calculation is fast, they are new vocal instructions which simplify the driving in announcing future turning options...
The TMC is working very well, bluetouth freehands with the telephon is perfect.
So for now, only the autostart and the Tomplayer is not functionning with this version but I don't watch movies while driving so...
Good work.
Best110 11th March 2009, 04:08 Hi
If I use BToff to save the ram then how can I active the speed cameras or play with them?!
Any way that I use BToff with Speed Camera icon?
thanks

I'm guessing the problem is because the unit isn't shutting down properly causing it to crash and then display the waring message and be difficult to re-start.
Is this a problem with x10 generally - or just my unit

My ONEv2 actually reports more free RAM with the btoff removed from root.
With it not in there I am seeing 7.2Mb whilst with it in root I am only getting 4.3Mb free RAM.
I have removed the connect2internet.so, connect2internet.db.encode and connect2internetdb files from root.
superduper 11th March 2009, 07:33 well, looks like I have better undestanding of this issue now:
it appears that it takes almost 5 minute(!!) for TomTom x10 model to boot on when placed back on the windshield mount and engine is switched back on..
Initially I was pushing power button on top of the unit because it would not not start up automatically and that didn't work either. I had to pock the reset hole instead each time.
Fortunatelly, this morning I had no time to fiddle around with TomTom (was grunning later for work) and left it hanging on the mount instead. I was quite surprised to see that TomTom autostarted approximately 5 minutes later by itself. I know, this is quite rediculous amount of delay but hey...
Please verify that this is valid for your TomTom as well.
I ...
One bug I have noticed, I have the unit set to power off when external power is lost, it does this OK but will not restart without pressing the reset switch. Anyone else noticed this or have a fix? I have switched off the power off facility for now, but would prefer to use it if poss :)
ChipMonk 11th March 2009, 12:37 I'm guessing the problem is because the unit isn't shutting down properly causing it to crash and then display the waring message and be difficult to re-start.

I think your diagnosis is spot on. I have two Go 710's and both exhibit this phenomenon but it is particularly bad on the earlier model.
A solution would be most welcome - in every other respect 8410 is a perfect navcore for these Tomtoms - all praise to TTUser.
lessram 11th March 2009, 13:49 This problem (crashing during going to suspend mode, next boot causing a reboot + Legal Notice screen) also happened to my TTOne V2 with 8.410
The way to solve this (on my system) was using the switchfile; x40light2
After I used that switch, it needed 2 reboots. Ever since all problems are gone.
IQRoute, ALG, RDS/TMC, TTS works, no Legal Notice screen anymore (unless I reset / fully restart it by taking the SD out) And the usual fast (out-of-suspend) boots also work.
tjilitjap 11th March 2009, 14:42 Hey LessRam,
You forget to mention that when people are using the x40light switchfile, BT and voice input will NOT work anymore.
I think this is important information, coming from TTusers readmenot textfile, that will make many people NOT want to use this switchfile...
Gr Tjilitjap :ilove:
pete9567 11th March 2009, 14:43 Hi Lessram, Ive been using your 8.204 dump for your One XL from a few months ago and it has been awesome - thanks a lot. And I didnt try loquendo as you thought the cpu was perhaps not powerful enough. Ive been trying unsuccessfully to get the 8.410 navcore to run on my 1XL. Would you be able to post a dump of yours, like you did for the 8204 navcore? Cheers.
Vcrone 11th March 2009, 15:22 using the switchfile
model:x40light
runclean
delgns
delmap
ttsoff
fmoff
noqfixdel
for my TTone XL with nc 8.410 works nearly all perfect.
But no more option "delete route" in menue. Therefore I switched back to x30
Vcrone 11th March 2009, 15:28 sorry for making a mistake.
I used switchfile x40light2 not x40light
Using x40light there is no access to TomTom services and TomTom speedcams
scoiattolo49 11th March 2009, 15:50 Using x40light there is no access to TomTom services and TomTom speedcams
Use bton and you have full acces to TT Services (including speedcams).
Also as already pointed out by lessram, reported free ram is a lot more using bton (instead of btoff).
But no more option "delete route" in menue. Therefore I switched back to x30
The option to delete the route is on the Status Summary screen. It's even quicker to access (2 clicks instead of 3 ;))

That's very similar on mine. I have disabled the power off on power loss option from the battery saving menu. Now use the button to switch off and back on to avoid the crash.
I do find when it crashes, you can get it to reboot quicker by removing the SD card - about 1 minute
Vcrone 11th March 2009, 16:54 Hi scoiattolo49
THX a lot. this helped really.
zakarias 11th March 2009, 16:57 Also as already pointed out by lessram, reported free ram is a lot more using bton (instead of btoff).
I have 2 TT One 3rd ed. devices. I save 1-1.5MB ram by using the bton switchfile AND then disabling BT in the menu.

machmandp 12th March 2009, 02:25 Hi
I like a few users had an issue with a flicking screen and losing the roads for a second or two.
I changed to a faster SD card and the issue seems to have gone away
give it a go and let us know

Yes you are right :exactly:
Sorry I mixed up :weedman:

Yes it works.
You can download the voices directly from TT. Links here:

For a ONE use the new revised ttsystem (first post) and set the emulation to x40light.
Remember to set also bton since it gives more ram memory, necessary for loquendo to run smoothly
engasada 12th March 2009, 02:30 Thanks TTuser, it works on my ONE 3thrd. Edition V6.
You are the best

TT One V3 - Bootloader 5.5122
In the basic kit there is reference about x40light (but not about x40light2)
Are both accessible (x40light & x40light2) values for model.txt ?
With my TT One Boot with TT One logo than fter a minute reboot with standard TT llogo than finall appear the TT menu.
When I power off TT, after that when I opwer on it reapper the TT logo as the TTw as really power off (not standby).
But I didn't use poweroff switch because is not vali for Navcore > 8.051.
With 8.410 the TT does it go to poweroff?
With model.txt x20 or x30 works fine
with model x40 works fine but in info screen appear the headphone with red cross
with model x40light or x40light2 (that works only with bton) at boot need two reboot to go on and after poweron is not came from standby but as poweroff.
With any model setting at reboot there is always a wanrning to accept (I disable any warning in setup but warning appera each time that I disconnect the TT from USB).
Cainam 12th March 2009, 13:24 Is it just me, or has the display graphics changed with this new version? I am running it with X20 emulation, and I just noticed yesterday that there is a "banding" effect on the colours.
For example if you are on a motorway with fields on either side, then at the bototm of the screen the fields will be light green, then a third of the way up the screen it will go slightly darker, and so on. I can proabably see about 8 different "bands" of green in that scenario.
When in a built up area with the normal brown colouring, and the map automtically zooms in, there is a band about half way down the screen where the brown changes colour.
It is very noticeable, and I would be surprised if I had not noticed it before? Just wondering if it was just me experiencing it!
Thanks!

If by One v3 you mean One 3rd, then I have the same model and I don't have any of the problems you mention.
Mine works excellently, better then any previuos Navcore :dance2: (including Loquendo that works very smoothly).
Are you sure to use the TTuser's revised ttsystem (posted 10.03) and to properly use the setconfig.txt?
ironia 12th March 2009, 15:24 scoiattolo no problem with the delay of cursors???
do you use it in x40 or x40 light??
TNX
bovirus 12th March 2009, 15:40 @scoiattolo49
I'm sure.
The TTSYSTEM is dated 10.03.2009.
I tried many times and the result are the same.
I tried with setconfig.txt in config folder and in root
I tried with separate files (runclean runcheck model.txt changedtext.tx) in Config and in root
My TT One 3rd edition (identified in TTGO.BIF as TTONE V6) works only with model=40 (or x20/x30).
If it was a problem in config option it cannot works also in x20/x30/x40 emulation.
Could you post your setconfig.txt ?

My setconfig.txt is very simple
model: x40light2
bton
nothing else ;)
Of course the Outsourced.8410 directory is present. No other switch present.
Reported free RAM
with Loquendo (x30 voices) = 5/6 MB
without Loquendo = 7/8 MB
And yes, it goes correctly in suspension mode when you switch off ;)
X40light works perfectly as well. Just slightly different menu
bovirus 12th March 2009, 16:22 With your setconfig, txt in Config fodler (but I etsted also into root), the TT stucked on boot logo.
Could you make a backup of your config (without map and TTLOGO.BIF)?
Of course if I change in setconfig.txt model=x40 works fine.

Lessram, could you please upload a working dump of your one with 8.410 navcore? I can not get more than 2.4mb free ram with my one and it hangs a little bit. Thank's in advance...
bovirus 12th March 2009, 16:38 But you can use with x40light2with other combination of switches?
Do you use setconfig.txt o separate switch fiels?
In Config folder o in the root?

vincentn1981 12th March 2009, 18:26 Oh no a dump again :(. Which gives only problems because people try to install it without them knowing what they are actually doing. Good examples is Mntsos whom does not even know how to use the setconfig.txt file, while it is all clearly explained in the readmenot.txt file which comes with it and numerous amount of times on this forum).
Just read the tutorials available in the FAQ page in the root of the TomTom navigations system section of this forum and read the readme(not)s.txt. There is absolutely no need to use a system dump.
scoiattolo49 12th March 2009, 18:45 I didi the dump just to explain by example.
As you have noticed (did you?) I have not posted it on a separate thread giving it a fancy title (e.g. "The perfect dump for ONE: everything works" or "The best and latest for your ONE. Just copy on your device and go") and encouraging people to download it... quite the opposite in fact.
Simply I had the impression that the latest posters (like Bovirus and Mntsos but I'm sure a lot more) didn't fully understand TTuser notes that I believe they have read, so to help them out I gave an example on how thing have to be set up to work properly.
PS RS reports 55 download in one hour... amazing!
aluks 12th March 2009, 19:12 You're right scoiattolo, and thanks for the dump.
Often people doesn't understand tutorial/readme, sometimes because they're bad written, sometimes because they require a knowledge of "tomtom vocabulary" (TTS, ASR, SWITCHFILES, EPT, SE_Navcore, EMU etc.etc.etc.).
I see nothing bad in providing a "pre-built" working package for a specific model of tomtom...users have the freedom to take it or not.
Sometimes people are more confident about a package prepared by an "expert" rather than building one by theirselves and also sometimes they don't have time/will/skills to read and understand all the necessary in order to do that.
Obviously, you have to build it by yourself (starting from ttuser package) if you have particular needs.
Mntsos 12th March 2009, 19:15 I didi the dump just to explain by example.

Thank's a lot for help
vincentn1981 12th March 2009, 20:09 There is nothing wrong with providing a pre-build system, however a lot of people will just copy it over there excisting configuration and report a lot of problems. However if people would just have read the numerous readme files and tutorials they would be easily able to themself, which would be better for them , because you can setup the system the way you want it to be and it would create less question.
If you do not understand the tutorials written by YDG and others in the FAQ section of this forum part I wonder if you should even try installing a dump.... But heh if it works all is fine, but if you have question please reade the reamde files and tutorials first.

I agree....but "easily" is not the right word in my opinion, maybe cause english isn't my native language.

I'm not talking about me. But I guarantee I had many problems to understand , not the instructions, but what I needed and what I was doing (there are tons of different tomtom models out there). You can say "Put switchfiles there" but it's not expected that I know what switchfiles are (now I know) or "You need this se_ttsystem if your tomtom has ASR but you need this one if your tomtom has TTS but not ALG, and tthome dll etc.etc.etc."
How do you explain 32 pages on "Complete version bla bla 8.204 etc." thread? I don't think they're all stupid..I think they just want something ready to use that simply works (maybe they should not use it, but this is their desire I think).
I want to be clear, I'm not complaining at all. If someone want to participate in this forum and use all latest feature provided by our heroes like TTuser, he should at least try to learn and read tutorials.
But I wouldn't dislike if someone will open a thread tomorrow labelled "8.410 for Tomtom one 30 series with ALG+IQ but NOT BT, TTS etc. TESTED and WORKING".
thor31 12th March 2009, 21:05 As a novice I agree with scoiattolo any information is usefull for comparison sake. It does not mean i will just stick it on as i am trying to learn ! THANKS for the dump !
Mntsos 12th March 2009, 23:14 Agree with Aluks about:
But I wouldn't dislike if someone will open a thread tomorrow labelled "8.410 for Tomtom one 30 series with ALG+IQ but NOT BT, TTS etc. TESTED and WORKING
And i would say even stronger that sticky threats had to be like that.
I am busy with tomtom from the time of TT3. But if for sometime i don't follow the forums then is getting difficult to follow the discussions again, sorry...
Raffetti 12th March 2009, 23:42 PLEASE, dump, dump, dump!!!!
I know what to take and what not to take....
museforever 12th March 2009, 23:44 I'm sorry but I'm like the others, I don't understand how to install them ... In the basic pack, you have more files compared to working dump and I don't know what to do with them.
Even if my english level isn't very good, I think it's badly translated and sometimes you don't really know what to do ...
So yes, working dump are a good idea and easy to use.
Bigoo38 13th March 2009, 00:12 Hello everybody,
May I ask to GOx40 owners if someone can provide us a copy of his(her) GOx40 Loquendo folders (all files) : it will be useful for making comparison between x30 and x40 files. Also, useful if we want to upgrade to last TTS voices.
Thanks for your help and thanks again for your advices, supports.
Good jobs :good2:

Thanks that seems to have sorted it.:thanks:
moggyminor 13th March 2009, 11:12 Even though I have Bt switched to on and have the safety cameras on the menu when I go into TThome and try to update them it says " This item cannot be installed on this device because of content restrictions "
I had this previously on 8.204 but sorted it by switching Bt on.
Any ideas anyone please?

First of all Free RAM within TomTom does not say anything, so just ignore what it says there, it is completely useless.
Version 8.410 and 8204 do not differ that much, they are both orignally for x40.
TTuser likes to keep the switchfiles the same so everybody whom have installed it before can do so now by just learning as little new things as possible.
You can choose where you want to put your switchfiles:
1. all in the root as 0 kb text files (has the drawback that i makes it all very messy, so I do not advise that).
2. In the folder /Config as 0kb text files (all is nicely together, but you still have to make or remove files if you want to change something).
3. In the file named setconfig.txt in the folder /Config. (This is the one I advise you to use, everything is in one place and there is one file which contains all the switches you want in there).
If you unzip the switchfiles.zip file coming with the ttsystem.rar file you see that it contains the /Config folder. The /Config folder should contain:
setconfig.txt file and a version.txt file.
There will also be a model.txt and a cycle.txt, they are not needed (only if you want to write the model name seperately, you keep the model.txt, cycle.txt is if you want to change your model emulation everytime you start-up your tomtom again, you probably do not want that. So I advise to delete the model.txt and also the cycle.txt.
Edit the version.txt accodingly, as well as the setconfig.txt and all should work fine.
Remember that you should choose one of the three. Make sure you do not have any switchfiles left in the root if you want to control things within the /Config directory and the other way around. If so your TomTom will hang at random at start-up!
J0nas 13th March 2009, 14:52 Hi!
Where can I get portuguese x30 Loquendo voices to work with this navcore?
The x10/x20 voices don't work correctly with this navcore, right?
rudeboy1971 13th March 2009, 15:08 hi
where can i find nav 8.410 download for tt1 v3 pls?
vincentn1981 13th March 2009, 15:12 @JOnas On my TTOneV2 x10 voice also work.
@rudeboy1971 The first post has the basicpack and the ttsystem file, that's all you need to make it working on your TTOneV3. Also read the readme files provided with the packages and go the FAQ in this forum subsection to obtain the needed information.

Get them for free from Maverick's post... ;)

just copy them on the map folder (they need activation just once using Easyusetools)
PS if you do, don't forget to rep him

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANSWER
Just let me know that when I use Btoff then Bluetooth is off (good for one V3) and when i use Bton then I can play with speed cams
So there is any way we have both (Bluetooth inactive but still have Speed cams icon?)

Just use x40light (or x40light2) emulation: BT is disabled by default and using BTON just makes the menus appear (BT is still off).
BTW that is why is called "light": some (ram hungry) function are disabled.
If you read TTuser readme (as everybody should do) this is clearly explained.
museforever 13th March 2009, 17:45 @JOnas On my TTOneV2 x10 voice also work.

Thank you you saved me !! I didn't know that you needed the ttsystem file ... Why isn't it included with the basicpack ?? And why it's not written somewhere that you need this file ??? And where can you find it ??

If Free RAM is "completely useless" why would anyone use, Outsourced Folder?
RAM is being used and released all the time you are operating the device. If you start off with only a little, say 1.5MB of free RAM, you could run out of RAM easily and your device will function very slowly.

From TTuser's first post in this thread:
Changelog:
10.03. now again a basicpack + single ttsystem or i goes crazy with uploading always all newagain inbuilt "Solution" for x00 GPS Prob
PLUS links to
SE_Navcore.8.410.1218.Basicpack.rar
SE_ttsystem.8.410.1218.rar
Seems pretty clear to me.
vincentn1981 13th March 2009, 18:37 @rytenuff as specially when you use Outsourced.bin it makes completely no sense to look at the free ram anymore, because part of the free ram will be running from the sd-card or internal drive.
Trusting on this crappy free ram indication within TomTom to use some kind of switches to turn on or off things, which against you think is logical is of course not very smart.
Anyway TomTom navcore is linux based, using all the ram and leaving just a little bit free is linux it's way of improving system speed, which is a good and smart thing: What good is a lot of main memory if a large part is kept free? (this is something only MS windows does and therefore it is also slow).
