View Full Version : 8.410 + LoquendoTTS working on TTOne V2 with SD
lessram 9th March 2009, 00:07 Hello,
With the help of vincentn1981 I finally managed to get Loquendo working on TTOne V2 with SD
Needed;
A) The voices you choose from here;
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1972184&postcount=111
B) NavCore 8.410 by TTUser
1 - Install TTUser's 8.410
2 - Delete everything in the LoquendoTTS folder
3 - extract your downloaded voice to the empty LoquendoTTS folder
4 - Now overwrite this again with the files from TTUser's 8.410 LoquendoTTS folder
5 - if excists remove the ttsoff switch in your setconfig file
6 - make sure your tomtom One runs in x40light emu !!
:egdance: === THAT'S IT ==== :goodluck:
some cons;
you cannot use the play demo route anymore, nor "remove route", those options are gone in x40light mode....
Hopefully this can be fixed.

it's a very easy explanation but i cant make it work's it appear's to select but no voice .
im doing something rong?
:thanks:
vincentn1981 9th March 2009, 02:07 Unpack the switchfiles.zip which comes with the package from TTuser and you should now have a Config directory in your root. Remove the model.txt and cycle.txt from your root and any other switches you might have there.
go to the newly created /Config and remove the model.txt and cycle.txt file.
Edit the setconfig.txt file and leave in there:
model:x40light
runclean
rm
runcheck
btoff
bton
cleanflash
sdid:1
usesettings
Then it should work if you have installed the voices LEssram mentions above and after that write over the LoquendoTTS folder from TTuser's package.
Make sure to remove "ttsoff" switch, but if you make setconfig.txt look like this all should be fine.
You can then check what your settings are by going to the version menu within your TomTom and selecting "Credits" in the lower left corner, then press on the word 'config' (If I am right, I cannot check now, sorry, this is by heart).

You can run a demo route ???
What is in your setconfig ?
What emu can be found by tapping the down-right corner to enter the status. Then hit the small square saying "Version 8.410". Next tap the Copyright button and in the following screen hit the "current configuration"
There you get to see all your config settings. Mine are (at this moment);
Current Emulation: x40
BT: 0
TTS: off
Run in Save RAM Mode
Remove additional Files
Cleaning disabled
for the Loquendo the first should ofcourse be;
Current emulation: x40light
TTS: On
But I am curious about yours, because you can run demo-route !
terminx 9th March 2009, 03:43 The "clear route" function is still available from the route details screen in x40light mode. Loquendo works on my ONE XL with this method, but the thing doesn't really have enough RAM to make it viable for actual use. Too many stalls when it tries to say something, et cetera. I don't think the higher quality speech output is worth the sacrifice in usability, so back to VocalizerTTS for me. :p Was kind of neat to see Loquendo working on my device for the first time though.
NWSlacker 9th March 2009, 06:16 Thanks so much!
Now I have IQ routes, ALG and Loquendo working on my XLS all at the same time! I've never been able to get this all to go before.

On my TTOne V2 it runs as fast as with the non-loquendo voices. So I like it this way.
(Correction: Last night it ran smoothly when using it in the car, now I do a demo-drive it indeed has obvious slowdowns...... have to test it again)
But I think I still have set it up wrongly, because now it looks like it crashes with every boot. Splash.ogg doesn't work, neither does suspend.ogg
Bigger "problem" is;
Starting the TTOne results in a "double start", first it starts with the splash screen, then it closes down again, restarts with the splash screen and
after that that it always begins with the "Legal Notice" (It's your own responsibility to drive safelyand place..... etc)

Try to disable the "Read aloud street name". It's then usable and the pronunciation is quite clear, without "stalls".

Also for me it's the same (TT One v3). It's the only "bug" and I can't find a way to avoid it if I want Loquendo (using x30 emulation it doesn't happen)
I tried A LOT of different configurations playing around with setconfig.txt but no one solves the problem of "rebooting" every time.
In any case, the best for me it's simply just setting model: x40light and not using any other option.
To save RAM I use only Outsourced.8410 and it's enought for Loquendo to run smoothly.

On my One v2 with 8410 TTS x20 Big Kate I discovered I can get to these by tapping the satellite strength symbol which takes you to the Route Screen - this has a "Clear Route" button and a "Details" button which takes you to "Show Demo". Sigh of Relief!:egdance:

bigjezza 9th March 2009, 15:16 I think I have solved the "reboot" issue on One V2.
I downloaded system 5.5106 and applied it.
I then booted into Nav 8.4
I then turned the device off
At this point, it would not turn back on.
I reset the device
I booted fine into 8.4, and now it suspends properly (I've tried 5 times)
vincentn1981 9th March 2009, 16:22 Mine shuts off correctly as well, I already had 5.5106 installed. However I have to start-up now and then by first ejecting the sd-card and putting it back in.
lessram 9th March 2009, 16:27 I am using system 5.5112 so cannot use 5.5106 (can't go back to a previous system). But maybe it needs a system file now in the root. I'll test that.
terminx 9th March 2009, 16:36 Try to disable the "Read aloud street name". It's then usable and the pronunciation is quite clear, without "stalls".
If I wanted to disable reading of street names, why would I even use TTS? :p
lessram 9th March 2009, 16:54 I added the 5.5112 system file... didn't solve it.
removing splash/suspend/antitheft oggs and bmps also didn't help.
have to keep on puzzling :))
lessram 9th March 2009, 16:55 If I wanted to disable reading of street names, why would I even use TTS? :p
Just because :)
scoiattolo49 9th March 2009, 17:07 If I wanted to disable reading of street names, why would I even use TTS? :p
Because you can still have:
- traffic informations read aloud,
- road numbers and signpost
- spoken warnings for POIs
etc
;)
I find especially useful for the traffic info since you don't have to read on the screen when driving :lol:
maxhum 9th March 2009, 17:17 i have no splash ogg only suspend ogg starting and shutdown = ok for me.> bootl v5.5022.
