View Full Version : How to install APK files? providence4v 13th March 2009, 19:42 Hi just got my G1. Can anyone tell me how to install these apps and games here? Meltus 13th March 2009, 20:31 you stick the APK files in the root of your SDCard, not in any folders or anything, then you download the Apps Installer from the market. Launch Apps Installer and you're away! :) there is another way you can do it through adb, but this is the easiest way. providence4v 14th March 2009, 02:58 thank you it works well. gt5oh 14th March 2009, 03:32 Option 2: You can upload the file to SendSpace.com Then convert the long download link to a TinyUrl.com link Go to that Tinyurl.com link on your G1's web browser to download and install over the web. SilverAfro 14th March 2009, 23:59 You can download any task manager for free, such as OI File Manager, and then you can put your apk files anywhere on your phone.. I have a folder on my SD card called APPS. Then I open that file and click on the apk and it will give you an install screen. dominat3 16th March 2009, 03:57 do you have to have a rooted g1 to do this? Also IF my g1 doesnt read my sd card is there another way to do it? providence4v 16th March 2009, 04:47 Hi, no you dont need to root your phone to do these.
