I've just updated my GO 520 to TTUsers SE Navcore 8.410.1218 replacing all files on it with the basicpack files and the ttsystem file which is oddly only 4mb as opposed to about 7mb previously.
I have a suspicion that I've stupidly put a navcore on my GO520 which is meant for a tomtom ONE because whenever I try to use Traffic or Tomtom services in the menu using x40 emulation (in the Config settings), it simply crashes. x30 emulation doesn't crash, but is there anything here i've missed or is anyone else having this problem? Also having trouble locating the latest Loquendo voice files and the zip postcode files...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yep!

AFAIK, this is normal for x20

Thanks for the reply! What is the "best"/most relevant TTUser (all hail the king!) navcore for 520's then? There's so much on this forum, my searches have been hit and miss to say the least...

It depends on what you want. If you want a navigator that brings you from
A to B, I would take the 8.302, TomTom version (patched).
:idol:
I heard that SE 8.310 works rather well if you can configure it right, 8.410 feels
like a beta but functions well, 8.204 runs fine but more incomplete than 8.410.
With all these three: if you have the flash icons you lose functionality. As
far as I know, with all SE x40 navcore's: you gain some, you lose some. For me,
on an x20, the balance always tips towards 8.302, TomTom version .

Thanks for the replies!
@bobby1607: I do like the look of the x40 emulation! But it's not all about the looks is it? At the mo, because it was such a pain faffing about with it and I made a mistake putting TTusers x40 version on there in the first place, i'm just running it in x30 mode, so that seems to be ok for the time being. Thanks for the info... very useful.
Have a good weekend!
Cheers!

How do you change from x40 mode to x30 mode?

Theres a zip file called "switcher.zip" or something like that and you extract the Config folder from that. Put the Config folder in the root of your TomTom device and then you can change the settings in the model.txt file to "x30" also check the other files. Be carefuly of one file though: the one with the most setting in it though. either delete most of the settings as per the readmenot.txt file or delete it altogether.
Can someone who actually knows what they're talking about verify what I wrote? I'm just trying to be helpful, but don't want to cause probs with the device...
Oh, but the way, where can I get the x30 loquendo files? Anyone have a link?

my 720 using x30 emulation works fine. Traffic via GPRS is perfect and shutsdown fine. Only sound via line out does not work, but I never used before so no prob, mp3 fine and speaker for directions. Best navcore so far.
