re-install windows again
if you want vista , you better install vista instead of these silly , memory-eating transformations
or else , leave xp for what it is

so , you re-installed windows , and the pc still keeps rebooting ?
then i think hardware problem
cooler , memory , mainboard , powersupply , keyboard , lots of other things
you said it was new ?
bring back for guarantee

mgdevjiyani - I think basflt meant re-install your XP ... ( correct me if I'm wrong, Sir )
If problem persists..its Computer fault.
If not, it's Vista fault.
BTW, did you start up in Safe Mode ??
This would identify a Software problem if it doesn't crash or Hardware if it does
( usually underpowered or overheated )
Check the terms of your warranty.
You may need to revert it back to XP before they accept it back as its modified...
Were you using 'Genuine' upgrade/installation discs??
Another 'get out' clause for the Shop to use, if copied Vista...
:goodluck:

hey bro
in this pc i have inserted an extra exhaust ,whereas my first memory was 80GB as it was insufficient for me i have inserted an 500GB sata harddisk
my ram is 2GB whereas i have an 7300GT graphic card and finally i have core 2duo processor
by verifying this i dont think that there is any mistake or problem in my hardware

What basfit and yDdraiggoch are trying to say (or rather saying but your'e not getting ) is that you need to reinstall windows xp. Then see if that works. If that doesn't work then it could be faulty hardware. Also check that the disc you are installing windows from is working 100%. Cool bro. Post your results

correct
that way you exclude things one by one
with new OS installed , and still have problems , its bios and or hardware

so , lets look at hardware
remove memory and install old memory
if still the same , memory is ok
repeat for harddisk and try
repeat for graphic-card and try
repeat for any other hardware you changed [ one by one ]
if anything changes , you found the cause
after that , you can check weather its the bios-settings or the hardware itself

Hey bro
I tried the steps which you have mentioned above but still the computer shuts down
So I think that according to the opinion that you posted is that there is no cause of hardware in this problem
And what about bios
i cannot understand that how to check the bios settings
so pls tell me how to check wether the problem is caused by bios settings

actually bios and hardware are related to each other
especially with OEMpc's
bios is a small software that controls the harware
now , if you change hardware without changing bios-settings , things may go wrong
you say that you :
- installed new windows
- re-installed your old , original hardware
correct ?
if so
it narrows down [ in my opinion ] to
- cooler , is it mounted correctly , with new paste , is it spinning ?
- keyboard and mouse , try without them
- motherboard , if all PSU plugs are connected , MoBo itself could be damaged [ cannot be checked ]
also :
when does it reboot,
after or before windows is loaded ?
if not sure :
remove all harware except CPU and cooler ,
[if you have onboard graphic card , connect monitor to it and remove the nvidia card too ]
ofcourse it wont boot , you can only enter bios , but , if it wont reboot ; its not the motherboard

Hey bro
Yes i reinstalled windows, reinstalled original hardware
And the cooler is mounted as well as spinning properly
But i am not sure of the motherboard
And about reboot it shuts down after running an application for more than five to ten minutes after logging in eg. setups, games, etc
Whereas ill try to complete the last step
anyway thks

motherboards are not expensive
find a board that matches your [ new ] memory and CPU
and keep us informed , ok ?
