VITO SMS-Chat v1.25

VITO SMS-Chat v1.2
Requirements: WM5.0, WM6.x
Overview: Enjoy threaded SMS messaging on Windows Mobile!

SMS-Chat is an SMS messenger that organizes SMS correspondence into threaded SMS conversations. This way you have a separate chat for every contact with whom you exchange short text messages like in IM programs. Multiple sms sending, templates, call back, clickable links.

Using SMS on a Windows Mobile device can be annoying because the messages aren't threaded. This is a feature that we've hoped Microsoft would have included by now, but they haven't. VITO Technology has recently released a solution for those of us that crave IM-like SMS conversations as found in other operating systems. Is SMS-Chat just a novelty, or does it make SMS much more usable? Read on to see!

The hot factor for this application is that it threads the messages together. It is not as sophisticated as other applications that thread messages such as Extreme Text on the Motorola Q, however SMS-Chat works with the operating system rather than the make of phone, so it has more usability despite being a less sophisticated product. There is certainly room for development as you'll see soon.

Features:
• Templates for quick answers
• Forward, resend or delete messages
• Active links and phone numbers, onscreen alerts
• Multiple sms sending

What's news in v1.2:
• All messages can be saved and restored to/from HTML.
• New skin (Light)

Update: Ver. 1.25 preregged

NEW SKIN only Works in oficial Release IPHONE skin

Is the explanation for the lack of colour difference between sent messages and received messages? Other than than the rest of the skin looks good with the different icons etc.

Hello Godsavenge,

I'm on HTC HD2 with WM 6.5 and SMS-Chat 1.25 fully working on my phone.

Maybe some administrator could change the name of this thread from SMS-Chat 1.2 to SMS-Chat 1.25 ?

Thanks in advance
Franky

Did you try to send SMS with the original SMS Sender.
Does it work ?
If not, your problem seems to be your phone.
If yes, so try maybe to install the official version and see if it rocks.

Hope it helps.

Hi, was just after your opinion, i have just recently purchased a HTC HD2, love it and used to use vito chat on my old HTC, great program but after a few weeks of the threaded on the HD2 i am not sure if i see any benefit of using vito chat. How do you find it, any advantages using it over the built in standard SMS prog on the HD2, cheers.

I can think of several reasons instantly off of the top of my head.

1. Notification-pops up a preview of the sms on screen upon arrival
2. Design-looks way better than the default sms program provided by htc
3. Speed & Functionality-this program moves and responds way better
4. Organization-i love the way it organizes your sms for you
5. Backing Up-SMS Chat has the ability with the push of a single button to backup all of your existing texts as well as restore them at a later date.

And that's just a few of the many reasons that just came to mind instantly. There's pretty much no convincing me that I'll find anything more reliable and user friendly as this program. Of course that's just my opinion.

Cheers, appreciate the fast reply.im a big vito chat fan as well, used it for ages on my HTC touch, its just that i dont think the standard one with the HD2 isnt bad either.
it organised the sms's just like vito, by conversation or date etc.agreed does lack the ease of the backup feature, and its not skinnable to my knowledge unlike vito.not sure about the speed, i think both are fast.no lag issues etc with the HD2 so far.
as you mentioned, no pop up on screen notice unlike vito.
