Light sensor and EPT don't work only in x40 emu. X30 emulation everything works fine.
Over_Drive 17th April 2009, 02:05 Does audio line out work for the x20/x30 range?
clonepony 17th April 2009, 02:16 Line out working after x20 emulation. The "navigate to post code" problem still exists(should be navcore own design fault), cannot go ahead without specify a house number
clonepony 17th April 2009, 02:36 Automatic power off after about 5 mins, no power saving set, so the problem is still there.
Flack 17th April 2009, 04:05 Great improvements TTuser but will we ever see a version that we can use GPRS to update our traffic data..

markham 17th April 2009, 05:48 thanks TTUser for your support. Is it a major change from 8.410? I have a TTOne v2 running 8.410, map 825.257. TTS, ALG, IQ
Hybris91 17th April 2009, 07:53 Great job, thanks a lot for your work, TTUser
Zebb 17th April 2009, 14:13 Thanks for the update but abandoned due to system freezing, and other problems.
ChipMonk 17th April 2009, 16:45 This was meant to be in the SE Navcore 8.410.1218 thread but I'm leaving it here because also relevant to folks with 8.412.1236 who suffer from the licence nag screen on booting up.
__________
Just for the record, the 70 and 78 bits on the backup Go710 settings.dat, which doesn't show nag screen, are 1B and 01 respectively.
I haven't tried to see what happens if I change the problematic settings.dat file to these settings from original 02 and 02.
This change also works for navcore 8412.1236.
ChipMonk 17th April 2009, 17:05 Navcore 8.412.1236 seems to work very well on my two Go710s - especially now I've got rid of the licence nag screens. Delighted that the units now turn on automatically when external power is restored, a feature missing in the last few versions. The only problem is that the boot-up time is extremely slow - not an issue on long journeys but a real pain when stopping and starting with short trips. A solution to this problem would be much appreciated.
vincentn1981 17th April 2009, 17:40 @ChipMonk the long boot time has probably to do with the fact that your TomTom device is not shutting down properly (that's also why without editting your settings.dat file you get the nag screen). For some reason it seems to shut down to fast and therefore the next time when you switch it on it takes a long time because it is not in standby mode.
ChipMonk 17th April 2009, 17:49 I agree vincentn1981- all the indicators suggest the Go710s are not shutting down cleanly - but what's the solution?
vincentn1981 17th April 2009, 18:11 Let's hope TTuser comes up with an idea, like he did with the 910 problems with screen flickering and TMC problems.
ChipMonk 17th April 2009, 18:33 The shutdown splash screen hardly appears at all during these "rushed" and incomplete shudowns with the 84** navcores. I've tried extending the shutdown time with a long suspend.ogg but this also gets curtailed (although the splash screen at least has a chance to light up) leading inevitably to the usual painful startup next time
loekverhees 17th April 2009, 20:04 Another change: while navigating, the maps are anti-aliased now!
rugolt 17th April 2009, 22:56 Navcore tested successfully on TT GO730T (SD-Card installation). Anti-aliasing looks nice.
Some features might not work correctly, just did a quick test.
Shutdown is a problem.
lessram 17th April 2009, 23:20 No shutdown problem here ! on my One with SD :)
Works flawlessy.... so far (just tested 2 short trips, so no real judgement)
pdarbs 18th April 2009, 02:18 Hi Lessram,
Thinking of trying this. How does it compare to 8.410 and what settings are you using?
:thanks:
markham 18th April 2009, 03:49 it does boot up a bit faster than with 8.410 (TTOne v2). I did not notice any anti-aliasing.
rapon 18th April 2009, 09:48 Work nice on my One XL, but i lost "3D view" on my map 825.xxx :-( After reinstal 8.410 back is "3D" OK.
Kroke 18th April 2009, 10:02 I can confirm that on my 730T the maps are really anti-aliased now. Looks a lot smoother then before.
But ....
I can also confirm a serious shutdown bug. The unit seems to power down correctly, displays the shutdown logo, but if you do a warm-start again, the startup logo gets displayed, followed by a pause, then the unit switches off and immediatly does a cold-boot. Then it's working again.
So, somehow the shutdown-process caused the TomTom not beeing able to wake up from stand-by again.

I don't quite know what you mean ...
I didn't use the unit in the cradle while testing, nor did I connect it to a power source while testing.
I usually don't use external power, the batteries last long enough for me. For now, I'm back to 8.410, although I did like the anti-aliased maps.
But whatever I did - after a shutdown the unit won't startup the quick normal way. Did even use the new bootloader, tried to clear the flash, with and without the outsourced folder.
So, at least for the x30 series it's unusable for me. Didn't try the x30 emlutaion. But according to some other posts here, it's working well for the One. But in the end, this firmware was originally designed for the new Ones anyway.

lessram 18th April 2009, 11:42 Hi Lessram,
Thinking of trying this. How does it compare to 8.410 and what settings are you using?
:thanks:
On my TTOne I said goodbye to TTS (both Loquendo and Vocalizer)
Also I don't use the data/bluetooth options
So BTOFF and TTSOFF
Those are my only settings in config.
I didn't overwrite the old installation. Took a little more work and formatted the SD and so installed it on a completely empty card.
Done in 15 minutes.
Also installed it on an old TomTom Go Classic (my old TT which I sold back then to a friend) and even that one is running without problems, suspend works. So no delays at all.

pdarbs 18th April 2009, 15:31 Has anyone tried the new system file (5.5128) on a tomtom one v2 yet?
Raffetti 18th April 2009, 15:34 I still have the 30mt (or 1-2secs) delay from the real position, so the navcore is perfectly working, but really unusable (SIGHHHH!)
This happens on a ONE New Edition (v2, s/n starting with E2) and on a Go 910 (both with different bootloaders).
Using navcore 8.410 or 8.412. I use W&C europe full 825.2157 (with lots of poi's and ALG/IQR) and Italy 825.2159 (without POI's and ALG/IQR)... same problem (SIGH!!)
Dear Grard31....the same problem perfectly using your instructions from your thread....
Dear TTUSER is still possible for you change the etc/bluetooth/pin value included in all your "extracted" ttsystem SE navcores, from 0000 to 1234, or put it in a switchfile and/or a real file on the root of tomtom fat file system?. Some bluetooth devices (like car audio systems) are "locked" on pairing bluetooth code 1234, so they couldn't pair with TomTom devices!
Another question... what about different GPS firmwares? Some devices have the 1.20 gps firmware, while others have the 1.21 one. Where are those firmwares? Included in the bootloader? Inside TTSYSTEM? On a GLxxxx file inside outsourced.xxxx folder?
Thanks
galronn 18th April 2009, 15:38 For me, i get the same issues as i did with 8.410. This 8.412 does not shutdown properly. i needed the x40light2 switch, which this one does not have...yet.

So you can shut it down correctly, it goes in suspend, and you get Voices to work as well?
I cannot suspend mine, it just shutdown everytime and i got no computer voices. Did you use any special switches in your model.txt?
I got a ONE XLs and it didn't really work for me as well as it did with 8.410 with the x40light2 switch in me model.txt file.
If you can tell me how you got your working i would appreciate that.

is this not like putting "noautosuspend.txt" into root folder? and its disabled? or am i wrong? worked in older releases.

Well, i just overwrote what i already had. Maybe i should do a fresh install of 8.412.
Thanks for letting me know that at least i know it should work for me.

This happens on a ONE New Edition (v2, s/n starting with E2) and on a Go 910 (both with different bootloaders).
I have a same problem than you have, I have a tomtom One 3rd edition, and there has been all the time about 30 meters or 1-2 secs delay in position...is there any way to fix that bad thing? it has really harmfully affect if you turn to right or left and your navigator does understand that turn after 1-2 sec that you have made a turn......does that gps version (now 1.20) helps for that? is that possible to get somewhere, I know that version 1.21 is out there, also tomtom go500 uses that 1.21 gps version and that one works very well.

I also have found that there are problems with the voices on my One XL. I have just installed the new navcore, and haven't tried it on the road yet, but have found already that if I try to change voices, I completely lose all voices and have to reset the unit. I'm able to get the Vocalizer voice back after a reset, but the Loquendo voices no longer work at all.
vincentn1981 19th April 2009, 18:46 the GPS version depends on the navcore which is installed. So it is embedded in the ttsystem file. There are two version known to me 1.20 and 1.21 and there is no real difference. So no reason to want to have 1.21.

Schneewitte 20th April 2009, 17:21 this navcore works great on TT One 30 series (v8)...
does anybody know if the automatic day/ night switch works on this navocre??

markham 20th April 2009, 18:18 I have the bootloader 5.5022, is it necessary to update the bootloader to the version 5.5128?
no, it's not. Chnage the boot version only if you are having issues with your SDHC card
Kroke 20th April 2009, 18:31 Some new findings with this navcore:
First I wrote that there's a suspend bug, but I was wrong.
Unfortunately it's the "Daylight" software from Joghurt what causes the cold start after a suspend. I deleted the folders "SdkRegistry", "Execute" and the file "TTN". After that it's working good.
That's really bad, because it was the only way to get automatic day/night switch, since the built-in function is broken on all unofficial navcores.
Well, I maybe get to live with it and do this with a quick-switch on the screen.
On my 730T there are no probems with the voices. Both, the pre-recorded and the Loquendo Voices are working. The map is anti-aliased, looks good, exept the "three-dimensional" buildings are looking flat now. But who cares?
I'll do a test drive later, hoping the build-in automatic day/night switch from TomTom is working. If I'm right, the function came in a official navcore for the ONE, using satellite-positions, just like "Daylight" does. And since 8.412 is a "ONE" firmware" .... maybe ...
@TTUSER: The "ephem" folder in your basicpacks is always empty. You don't get any quickfix updates with TomTom Home this way. There should be at least some old data included in order to update.
Thanks again for this NavCore!

rusigor 20th April 2009, 19:51 @TTUSER: The "ephem" folder in your basicpacks is always empty. ...There should be at least some old data included in order to update.
Absolutely wrong - no data except empty folder required to gel latest ephemerids. Moreover you must remove all old data from the folder and from TTHome in order to fix "quickgpsfix not updating" bug:holdit:

At least on my machine different. Just tried it with the latest basicpack. Emphen folder was empty -> no quickfix with TTHome. Copied some older content to it -> quickfix was offered immediatly.
According to your theory every user would have to clean the ephem folder once a week to get new updates from TTHome. But who knows, so many difrent units, so many different configurations ....

No, the maps are different. Anti-Aliasing is now applied to maps.

That is not the way it worked for me...
I had to have old data inside the folder in order to get new data.

I have bootloader 5.5122

mcjones56 20th April 2009, 21:35 works perfect on my 730GO
i just notice that the voice control is not working :( i realy love that function ,how can i turn it on ???
please please ,
For the voice control you will need to restore your ASR folder which 'hopefully' you backed up before putting the new navcore on your device.
TTUser did mention it in his first posting in this thread but I missed it also :goodluck:
yeboto 20th April 2009, 22:44 works perfect on my One V6

Not at all - if everything goes smooth - no need in doing anything. But if you have probs with updates (I experienced this and it was not my idea) - i.e. for a long time you have no updates (remember - at least once aweek ephemerids are updated on the server) - it's recommended to clear C:\Documents\......\TomTom\HOME\Download\complete\ ephemeris from content, delete all files from ephem folder on your PND - and then update from TTHome. It works!
lyndonm 21st April 2009, 02:37 Shouldn't antitheft.jpg be named antitheftw.jpg on a 720 ????
You can also try to use suspend.jpg of suspendw.jpg this one surely works. Eventually use the same jpg
I tried this but still no go. When I hokld the power button the screen just goes blank and then takes ages to boot back up.
kangocartman 21st April 2009, 02:46 delete the .jpg off the file so all you have is suspendw or splashw

sco0ter 21st April 2009, 03:26 As usuall.... Thaks again TTUSER. it works great and the map now looks brilliant. I like the fast shutdown now (never bothered with the shutdown image anyway). The scrolling seems smoother for me and it keeps up no problem so no lag problems.
This is on a GO 720. Not tested TMC yet
ajsbonnevile 21st April 2009, 06:30 As usual great job by TTuser, all working well on 720 with 815 maps. All I do is copy the basic RAR and the SE RAR straight over the old files on the TT and reboot. Makes it a lot easier than deleting old files just in case the wrong file is deleted. I also update the Systems file with no problems [so far]
cheers
lyndonm 21st April 2009, 08:24 delete the .jpg off the file so all you have is suspendw or splashw

Tried that and still does not work, I now only have suspendw & splashw with no extension and the damn thing still just goes blank straight away powering off. Is there any setting I need to make anywhere to display the antitheft picture? I realy do appreciate everyones help for this problem.
bovirus 21st April 2009, 10:56 Test on TTOne V3 (App: 8.412 - BL 5.5128 - Emu:X40)
Very good sensibility and stability GPS signal
Very good speed with touch comamnd and GPS navigation
Problems (small)
At poweron the TT remain with blank (white screen) for 5/10 sec than show the TT logo and loading screen
Every time that I poweron the TT at the end of TT loading, appear the Legal advise screen and I have to accept it to continue
with X40 (and BT ON or BT OFF) in the info panel I saw the BT headphone with error (I hope to see ibn a nera feature the emu X40light/x40light2 as for previous navcore version)
RMC74 21st April 2009, 12:01 Works excellent on my V2 without any tweaking. Compared to 8.410 the differences are minor (8.410 vs. 8.412):
+ anti-aliasing (but shouldn't 8.410 have this as well?)
+ no 30-seconds-flicker of the map
- no automatic day/light
RDS-TMC works, but on the 8.410 as well. The anti-aliasing will make the difference for me
bertreuer 21st April 2009, 12:27 It works well out of the box on my TT One v1.
The anti-aliased map is a very nice feature.
However, would it be possible to integrate some also very useful features from 8.410?
As to mention the volume increase not from the outside noise but from the current speed.
And the automatic day/night switch.
I think I could activate it when I was in x40light mode.
rocklands 21st April 2009, 14:03 With UK map 825.2157 I've noticced that the Max speed isn't always visible and that it doesn't give an audible warning when I exceed the max speed!
sco0ter 21st April 2009, 14:35 My TMC doesnt seem to be working properly. It connects and says it finds the signal and updates but there is no information showing on my map at all. I find it hard to believe that there is NO traffic issues.
This is on a GO 720
Raffetti 21st April 2009, 14:48 @rocklands
It's perfectly ok... Not all the roads have included the speed limit.
You can add it yourself with "map correction" in tomtom menu, changing and/or adding a new speed limit on the road(s) you choose, and sharing it through mapshare....
sco0ter 21st April 2009, 16:23 Managed to get my TMC Working again. I had to remove the outsourced folder. When I put it back it stops working again
WIERD
carpboy 21st April 2009, 17:24 where is the new anti-aliased for navcore i have 8.412 working on tomtom one v2 ok but cant see that setting?or is ther new map for it?
Raffetti 21st April 2009, 18:39 @sco0ter
If you need to use outsourced.xxxx folder try to remove tmcevents.dat from inside it (and perhaps also the ttpndp file inside the bin sub-folder)
You can add a TTPnPD (or ttpnpd) empty file in root to remove the PnP function on TomTom, but in this way (maybe) the TMC should not function (make a try)
Check twice you use the right outsourced.(8412 in this case) files taken from the original basickpack
In theory all the files inside outsourced.xxxx should be the SAME used inside ttsystem (or PNDnavigator),
After the bootstrap the linux kernel is uncompressed and the modified etc/rc linux script by ttuser before launching the ttn app, makes a symbolic link on the files inside the "real" outsourced.xxxx/bin and /sbin folders (insted of the ones included in ttsystem) using all or some of them according to the values inside the "switchfiles".
aluks 21st April 2009, 19:48 After the bootstrap the linux kernel is uncompressed and the modified etc/rc linux script by ttuser before launching the ttn app, makes a symbolic link on the files inside the "real" outsourced.xxxx/bin and /sbin folders (insted of the ones included in ttsystem) using all or some of them according to the values inside the "switchfiles".
:D Thanks for these technical details.
Now I know how outsourced folder works!
I have a question....why there's no "x40light" emulation in this version?
Is it something that must be coded by Tomtom in original ttsystem or is it a feature created by TTUser?
roucoups 21st April 2009, 20:02 works fine on my go 710
however when my go 710 powers off, suspendw.bmp or (splashw.bmp) is very dark (very low luminosity, very very difficult to view the bmp). is there any way to have more luminosity to increase this luminosity for the suspendw.bmp ?
and my tomtom doesn't swap to night mode when it's dark
many thanks

sorry
since ive changed x40 by x30 in model file in config directory, everything is ok. hurra its great

braindead77 21st April 2009, 21:37 What is what the feature TTS works with this navcore? As the navcore 8.410, because I did not succeed to make speak Juliette and Bernard

grr, i have many problems with my go 510 now, especially when i connect the device to my pc.. i don't know why ive done, it was working so far.. maybe tts, i dont understand
ill probably go back to 8.320
lessram 22nd April 2009, 00:36 Strange all those people with problems. IMHO this is the easiest and best working version so far. I installed it on a Go Classic, Go 500 and a TTOne V2.... all without any problem. And all is working great. Even RDS/TMC (mini-USB version) on all three of them !!
Might it be that many problems are caused by not starting with a completely empty card...but trying to overwrite an older installation ?
In all 3 cases I formatted the SD completely before setting it up again.
Tried that and still does not work, I now only have suspendw & splashw with no extension and the damn thing still just goes blank straight away powering off. Is there any setting I need to make anywhere to display the antitheft picture? I realy do appreciate everyones help for this problem.
extensions are needed IMO (I assume the person who hinted you to this, had his Windows Explorer set up to hide known extensions ??)
The setting to display the antitheft picture can be found on;
Menu: Main 1/3 --> Change Preferences --> Page 1 - Safety preferences --> Warn not to leave the device in the car
Enable this to show antitheft.jpg
disable it to show suspend.jpg
retrobot 22nd April 2009, 02:11 I take it you still cant use loquendoTTS in default emulation with a ttone in this verison?

Interesting, does TT home reformat your TT when it updates with its latest navcores?
Personally I have found, with a 720, that its easier to copy over the latest Navcore and that way keep ones settings. I run the navcore from the 720 internal memory and use the SD card for my backup of internal memory and MP3 files etc.
Cheers
ianc60 22nd April 2009, 04:31 This is not a replacement for other models (x20,x30 etc), owners of these should still use the original switches. i.e x20, x30, x40 ..
Here is a new ttsystem based upon ttuser's version. Install everything as described on the first post and copy over this ttsystem. The only changes are two new model switches (shown below but are without quotes on your TT):
"iq1" = New One IQ Routes Emulation
and
"iqxls" = New XLS IQ Routes Emulation
All other switches are exactly as ttuser wrote, only model.txt has been extended!
I've tested on a TTOne V3 . IQROutes, TTS and ALG all work!
Advantages:
Meant for ONE and XLS, no Mobile or voice input icons or features not supported by hardware
Suspend/Sat freeze problems fixed for all models

ianc60 22nd April 2009, 04:36 This has nothing to do with x40 light stuff, I've changed the model number to 34 and 36, tghese are I believe to be the model id's for the new TT OneIQ and XLS IQ devices.
ianc60 22nd April 2009, 04:44 It'll be good if anybody could test a XLS on this, thanks
lessram 22nd April 2009, 09:46 3x same message, was the server slow again :)?
You added those 2 switches, but what do they do?
vincentn1981 22nd April 2009, 09:50 I assume he means that these are the switches to emulate a new TTOne with IQ routes and the new TTOneXLS with IQ routes.
I think these switches were also available in the 8.410 as x40light swtiches (Which was which I do not know. As far as I know there was no difference).
vincentn1981 22nd April 2009, 09:51 @ianc60 which modelid's are these? I tried several but did not find them, thanks in advance.

I was just assuming ("Might it be that....")
Maybe the simple overwrite installation is good enough, but that didn't work with my first attempt to install 8.412 (frooze on the startup screen), after a format and full install (+ using Clearflash on first boot) the TTOne worked.
I don't think TTHome formats the tomtom when updating the NC, but on the other hand...this ain't a TTHome update. It's a re-worked version.
lessram 22nd April 2009, 10:05 I assume he means that these are the switches to emulate a new TTOne with IQ routes and the new TTOneXLS with IQ routes.

You mean
model=iq1 is probably the same as model=x40light
model=iqxls is probably the same as model=x40light2
(or the other way around) ?
Sounds logical indeed. But I still wonder what do they do differently compared to the standard emulation (model=x40)
Disable BlueTooth... and what else (menu icons are the same, ain't they)? Also what's the difference between the 2 light switches?
(Just curiousity)
vincentn1981 22nd April 2009, 10:18 @Lessram Yes, I think it is like that. I have not tested it yet (I am at work now).
The x40light switches were for the new TToneIQroute versions. There seems to be a real hardware difference between the One's and the Go's. It could also just be some kind of modelid difference.
petrix 22nd April 2009, 12:35 look at the map

Sorry, but I also don´t know what is anti-aliasing. Someone could explain me what is it?
Thanks.
:thanks:
Kroke 22nd April 2009, 12:42 Thanks a lot!
This is the very first NavCore that enables automatic brightness and day/night switching on my TomTom Go 730T while not reverting to X30 emulation!
I used "IQXLS" switch.
Things you loose:
- Voice commands (including quick voice menu)
- FM Transmitter
- nearly the complete Bluetooth functionality, like hands-free etc ..
For me, I never used the missing options, so I gladly trade it for anti-aliased maps and automatic brightness. I just wonder what has been modified - The ONE's doesn't have a brightness sensor, so it never worked on the NavCores from TTUSER. Maybe the author of this special navcore could work together with TTUSER to make an "all-in-one navcore" ?

Anti-Aliasing is technique to smooth the edges of an image by using different shades of the same color. This avoides the harsh pixelation . Looks more appealing this way. It's only eye candy.

lamer314 22nd April 2009, 13:49 Your map will look better and should be smoother.
In case of this navcore version, the map looks smoother by cost of contrast loss. There are smooth gray lines in navcore 8.412 instead of sharp, black edges in 8.410...

Everything seems OK and I do not use TTS
vincentn1981 22nd April 2009, 14:38 x40light2 is not available in this build, so you are not emulating anything. Therefore you just have the x40 look. likungfei 22nd April 2009, 18:08 Yes the Navcore 8.412 works fine on my go920 except for the loss of gprs connectivity. Hence, I'll wait for the grandmaster TTuser and the other masters here for their efforts to solve this problem. Thanks in advance. :goodluck:
roucoups 22nd April 2009, 18:08 after a 24h try bootloader 5.5128 makes many problems on go 710 (randomly freezes about few minutes) whereas 5.5122 on another go 710 works fine (different tries were made, swapping sd cards between the to go 710, changing parameters on config.txt, tomtom home on different pc..)
so be carreful when installing 5.5128 on tomtom go
waiting for a next bootloader version to repair my go 710 with 5.5128 :-(

True! It also works on my GO720. Maybe a nice thing to mention is that my lightsensor is working again! So when it gets dark, nightcolors are automatically applied.
One thing that I'm missing, compared to the x40-emulation is that voice control is not working.
Note: I didn't test it while I was driving (just behind my office). I'm curious if external HD traffic receivers will work with this emulation. I'll test it later this day.
petrix 22nd April 2009, 18:45 I have an issue that is when I make a suspend and then I start my TTone V3, the signal of the gps takes some time to start. In the GPS screen the circle that is next to the time stops spinning and it takes more than a minnute to start again. If make a cold start (without a suspend) that doesn´t happens.
Someone knows why this happens, or how to fix this problem?
I have the bootloader 5.5122.
rolfio 22nd April 2009, 19:55 I have the same problem with my tt one v1. Only a cold start gives me connection to the satellites. Bootloader is 5128.
manifold 22nd April 2009, 21:17 Same problem with my One XL 4S00.000 with Bootloader 5.5022.
Same problem with my GO720 with Bootloader 5.5022 and now 5.5122
When Power On after Suspend, satellites are frozen (circle not spinning).
I have to reset or connect/disconnect to/from computer, to get the satellites working again.
I went back to v8.410.1238 wich doesn't have this problem.
But a GO700 with bootloader 5.5122 is working fine with v8.412.1236, it doesn't have this satellites problem when Power On after Suspend.
I just discover that when emul model x30, satellites are frozen as said above, but when emul model x40, satellites are comming back after about 30 secondes.
aluks 22nd April 2009, 21:33 Same problem with my One XL 4S00.000 with Bootloader 5.5022.
Same problem with my GO720 with Bootloader 5.5022 and now 5.5122
When Power On after Suspend, satellites are frozen (circle not spinning).

Same here with a Tomtom one 30 series (BL 5.5128). Frozen satellites, frozen position.
markham 22nd April 2009, 21:34 [QUOTE=ianc60;2633005]TTS also works but you have to switch off reading street names and roads for it to be useful.QUOTE]
What is the point of TTS if you switch off reading street names?
corne64 22nd April 2009, 21:45 I drove 3 days with this navcore and it seams to me that the problem of not showing some of the original speedcams is gone.
JoostBoZ 22nd April 2009, 22:14 Apart from the fact that the lightsensor and shutting down to the suspend mode are working with the 'new' ttsystem-file (in 'iqxls'-emulation) other issues stil remain, or new issues arise:
- no voiceinput
- external HD Traffic receiver does not work (still the 'Low Battery'-error)
- GPS only works on 'cold start' (freezing)
Why isn't it possible to combine all emulations mode, because:
- external HD Traffic receiver work properly in x30-mode;
- voiceinput work properly in x40-mode;
- shutdown to suspend mode work properly in iqxls-mode.
Maybe master TTUser can help us with creating such a 'superb' emulation mode. :goodluck:
Edit: this is on a GO 720
galronn 22nd April 2009, 22:22 Same here with a Tomtom one 30 series (BL 5.5128). Frozen satellites, frozen position.
Yeah i thought it was only me. With my TT ONE XLs it's also freezing on sats. A poke is needed. CRAP.
roucoups 22nd April 2009, 22:41 i have two GO 710
go 710 - BL 5.5128 - frozen satellites and position too after few minutes - need to remove the sd card and reinsert it after reboot to have the device gone
go 710 - BL 5.5122 - no such problems
unfortunately impossible to downgrade to 5.5122 from 5.5128
i hope therell be a new BL to update the bugged 5.5128

Wait...just experimenting...what emulation (and ttsystem) are you using?
I'm using ttsystem from ianc60 (in iq1 emu)...I tried with x40 emu and everything start working again. It seems that satellite are still frozen but after a while it starts the fixing, slowly but working.
Also with the ttsystem from TTUser (that doesn't use iq emulation) I have no problem anymore.
Looks like a problem of IQ emulation...at least on my device.

I'm using ttsystem from ianc60 in IQXLS emu. So you went back to the TTUser ttsystem file in x40 emu and everything is great now for you?
I think i had issues where TTS and suspend would not work for me using TTUser's ttsystem file.

No, I'm saying that both Ianc60 and TTuser's ttsystem work good (I mean "no frozen satellites after turning on") in x40 mode.
In other words...sadly, I can't use IQ1 emulation because of this problem.

Thank you
tjilitjap 23rd April 2009, 00:33 I also have the problem with the satellites and the screen freezing... On my Go930(x30emu) with serveral bootloaders I tried. Only not with a cold start like the other users. Everytime I have to do a reset to get it working again. A real bugger....:hardcry:
galronn 23rd April 2009, 01:47 Well, bye bye 8.412. I had to go back to 8.410. Hard resetting it every time it would go into suspend was not an option for me. Until a fix comes in, my XLs is staying at 8.410.

It would not suspend correctly and TTS would not work as well. Do you have an XLS suspending correctly with x40 emu?
aluks 23rd April 2009, 02:05 No sorry, I can't really tell you..my tomtom is not Xls
The Washer 23rd April 2009, 02:13 File meant for TTONE and TTXLS users:
This is not a replacement for other models (x20,x30 etc), owners of these should still use the original switches. i.e x20, x30, x40 ..
Here is a new ttsystem based upon ttuser's version. Install everything as described on the first post and copy over this ttsystem. The only changes are two new model switches (shown below but are without quotes on your TT):
"iq1" = New OneIQ
and
"iqxls" = New IQXLS (Not tested)
All other switches are exactly as ttuser wrote, only model.txt has been extended!
I've tested on a TTOne V2. IQROutes and ALG all work! TTS also works but you have to switch off reading street names and roads for it to be useful.

olewo 23rd April 2009, 10:35 Hi,
sorry for my English.
I installed navcore 8.412.1236 on my GO630 with procedure: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost...2&postcount=18
but it freezes on boot.
Is it possible to install the navcore 8.412.1236 on a 630 ?
Any ideas ?
Thanks.
Raffetti 23rd April 2009, 14:43 A possible reason (if you have not started with a "clear" tomtom) is that you have to remove the currentmap.dat and userpatch.dat files in root and mapsettings.cfg in map folder.
It's also useful to insert the "cleanflash" switchfile in setconfig.txt.
At last use "ori" or "x30" emulation before trying the x40 one.
Those kind of navcores are made for work (or loving) on all TomToms!
mineplayid 23rd April 2009, 15:39 Installed on my TomTom One XL the adapted version of the navcore 8.412.1236 using the 'iqxls' emulator. So far works everything fine.
Thank you gentlemen, good job! :thanks:
JoostBoZ 23rd April 2009, 15:47 Did you also try to turn of your TomTom (into suspend mode) and turn it back on. I wonder if you have the same problem with the frozen GPS (GPS status -> status indicator is not moving)

Does it suspend correctly, and when you boot it up does your satellites and the screen freeze?
If not, do you have a setconfig.txt and anything in it?
I got a XLS and using that emu it keeps freezing my sats when returning from suspend.
Tex88 23rd April 2009, 16:25 TTS also works but you have to switch off reading street names and roads for it to be useful.
That would make TTS useless.
ianc60 23rd April 2009, 16:39 Not really useless if you think, you can read traffic reports and msg's!!! with TTS as well.

bovirus 23rd April 2009, 17:10 @ianc60
I suggest you to compress the TTSYSTEM file in a zip or other archive to avoid file corruption (and TT hangup)
If you can please rename the zip (not TTSYTEM) as TTSYSTEM_8.412.1236_ianc60_YYYYDDMM.zip.
In this way it's clear
- which file is
- for which TTN version is
- who is the patcher
- what's the release date - YYYDDMM it's the relase date of the file patch (and reflect file date).
Also please add a very simple text wth your notes about the switches.
What's about it?

This also introduced a problem where after a successful suspend, the unit freezes on sats and position.
Still, THANKS to ianc60 for the contribution. We just have to get this freezing part fixed.

thanks
lessram 23rd April 2009, 17:54 Just out of curiosity;
I own a TTOne V2 New Edition (with SD).
It runs without problems on TTUser's NavCore 8.412
Ianc60 you added 2 model switches;
model=iq1 (for new IQ One's)
model=iqxls (for new IQ XLS's)
what will I gain when I use model=iq1 in the config.txt ?
What is different compared to model=x40
??
scoiattolo49 23rd April 2009, 18:01 I think those are the equivalent of the ttuser's x40light and x40light2 in navcore 8.410
i.e. they are the default interface for the new ONEs IQ Routes v5 (140) now on the market.
lessram 23rd April 2009, 18:07 okay tried it....
in config.txt I added the exact line;
model=iq1
don't see any difference, when looking in the current configuration I keep seeïng;
Current Emulation: x40
So I tried to add a model.txt to the root of the SD and added the line iq1 in it.
Same thing Current Emulation: x40
Is this suppost to happen or should I see another line in "current configuration"
OOOOPSSSS.....
Found it. Ofcourse: model=iq1 should be model:iq1
mineplayid 23rd April 2009, 18:28 Does it suspend correctly, and when you boot it up does your satellites and the screen freeze?
If not, do you have a setconfig.txt and anything in it?

Yes, everything is working fine.
Using the SE_navcore adapted for the one / one XL, you can find it elsewhere in this topic. I am using the outsourced map ofcourse, and as model.txt i am using the 'iqxls'. In the setupconfig.txt I only have the text 'ttsoff' and 'bton', nothing else.
lessram 23rd April 2009, 18:28 splash.ogg and suspend.ogg don't work with model:iq1
Same as with x40light in the previous NC
ironia 23rd April 2009, 18:47 someone try it on one v3??
tnx

Why do you have ttson? That is for the option 'text to speech' and I don't think that it is meant for the XL.
I'm using 'bton' so the button for 'tomtom services live' is active, I need that option for the original TomTom Speedcams.
galronn 23rd April 2009, 19:17 Why do you have ttson? That is for the option 'text to speech' and I don't think that it is meant for the XL.
I'm using 'bton' so the button for 'tomtom services live' is active, I need that option for the original TomTom Speedcams.
I have the XLS which has the text-to-speech option. And when I enable BT the XLS reboots itself all the time.
lessram 23rd April 2009, 19:38 TTSON is needed for Loquendo or Vocalizer
I think you're messed up with ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) which ain't an option for XL.
ianc60 23rd April 2009, 19:42 @galronn
can you confirm that sat freezing is fixed with newest version from today?
aluks 23rd April 2009, 19:45 It seems that the new ttsystem fixed the problem on my one 30series.
Raffetti 23rd April 2009, 21:09 Excuse me all....
but who invented the ttson switch? IT SIMPLY DOESN'T EXIST!
The "official" switch are explained in readmenot.txt file, other unreported are showmoreinfo, debug, debugtotxt and others.
complete list is:
sl="ttsoff btoff bton fmon fmoff delgns delmap rm debug debugtotxt nomsg viewmsg silent usesetting cleanflash noqfixdel noclean runclean runcheck showmoreinfo makesirfreset
The emulations are activated through a particular "id" variable passed to ttn (the main navigator software).
for ori is the original hardware_id inside the tomtom,
id 12 is used for ttssdk emulation,
id 13 is used for ttssdk2 emulation,
id 16 is used for xls emulation,
id 18 is used for x20 emulation,
id 25 is used for x30 emulation,
id 24 is used for x40 emulation. (and this stops the ttuser se 8.204 version)
id 34 is used for x40light2 emulation (nc 8.410 and the "other" nc 8.412 iq1 emulation)
id 36 is used for x40light emulation (nc 8.410 and the "other" nc 8.412 iqxls emulation)
So it means that on new "not ttuser" 8.412 iq1 emulation is equal to x40light2 emulation of 8.410 ttuser SE navcore
and iqxls on new "not ttuser" 8.412 is equal to x40light emulation of 8.410 ttuser SE navcore
BUT THE REAL AND MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IS:
Why didn't ttuser reused those "id"s while preparing his "modified" 8.412 ttsystem? WHY?
galronn 23rd April 2009, 21:09 @galronn
can you confirm that sat freezing is fixed with newest version from today?
The freezing is NO MORE. GREAT WORK ianc60

galronn 23rd April 2009, 21:14 Excuse me all....
but who invented the ttson switch? IT SIMPLY DOESN'T EXIST!
This is the list (taken from original rc script):
I assumed that there was one since there is a ttsoff. Maybe you are right, it doesn't exist. Not having ttsoff is implied to be ON i guess.
lessram 23rd April 2009, 21:45 Indeed.. I stand corrected, I even knew it. There isn't a TTSON. Just a TTSOFF
It ain't like BlueTooth which has BTON and BTOFF
That probably caused the confusion

Tried it out briefly on my TTONe v4 LE running xq1 emulation. On initial examination, seems to have fixed the satellite freeze problem I had with your first version. Did not have any suspend problems earlier.
Thanks for working it out!
tjilitjap 23rd April 2009, 22:59 The satellite-freezing problem still exists on my GO930 even after Ian's updated ttsystem.
Maybe it only works on all ONE models, although it also says: fix satellite problem FOR ALL MODELS.
I hope that TTUSER himselve will have a look at it.
Gr Tjilitjap
roucoups 23rd April 2009, 23:17 freezes still exist on my go710 too with the new ttsystem
Kabake 23rd April 2009, 23:20 Some new findings with this navcore:

I get an quickfix update with TTHome and Mac OS X but not with TTHome Windows (both latest TT Home)

on your 5 7 9 file RAR PLEASE dont include the "system" file and "ttsystem" in it for every one might not have your "system bootloader and might cause a newbie to damage if they use yours and its older than theirs if you are going to repackage TTusers stuff only package his files dont include yours including the "install.bif" i havent checked other folders.
all im saying is dont add anything unless you say exactly what you added in details.

I should have said Navcore Basicpack contains PNDNavigator file.
bertreuer 24th April 2009, 09:50 The freeze after suspend also still exist here on a TomTom One v1 with the new ttsystem from yesterday.
Maybe there have to be some other switches turned on or off. Maybe someone who does not have the problem anymore could post his switches...
lessram 24th April 2009, 10:20 Reading the last pages I get the impression that the new switches don't fix most problems..... and new problems appear with it.
Though the new switch IQ1 worked on my TTOne, but I went back to TTUser's ttsystem file which also worked without problem. The not working splash.off and suspend.ogg audio files in IQ1 (also with the older navcore and x40light) made IQ1 ness interesting to me personally. So back to model x40, which by the way work in both ttsystem files. The new one and ttuser's.
alsiik 24th April 2009, 12:04 Yeah, when I loaded the 8.412 with TTUsers ttsystem and x40 emulation for the first time, it didn't work out for me. Then I switched to new "iqxls" emulation which is okay but sadly with no BT functions working. So I experimented a bit and after formatting SDHC card and another "clear" load of original TT's ttsystem even the standard x40 worked completely fine. Howewer, I still can't make BT work either in "iqxls" or "x40" mode with 8.412
TT One XL, 2GB SDHC, NC 8.412 W_C_Europe full 825.2157, "iqxls" emulation
lessram 24th April 2009, 12:50 Again someone who got his system working after using a formatted/clean SD/memory, where it didn't work with overwriting the old NC. :)
vincentn1981 24th April 2009, 12:59 I found out that if you enabled Bluetooth in x40 emulation and then you switch to the new iq1 or iqxls emulation that it will hang not matter what you do (cleanflash, etc do not work). If you go back to x40 emulation and switch off bluetooth and then switch to iq1 or iqxls emulation there is no problem what so ever.
Note I did not delete mapsettings.cfg it is probably stored there, but I never experienced something like this before.
alsiik 24th April 2009, 13:17 YOu're right, I found the same thing because it pissed me off all the time that occasionally the device freezed during the boot-up (tomtom logo screen) while using the "iqxls" emulation. I started experimenting with different switches and different emulations and yeah, BT is the cause of the freeze thing. But BT didn't work for me even when I switched to "ori" or "x20" old style emulations. It seems to me that this NC version + BT makes no good at all. Previous version in my device, 8.300 + "x20" emu worked fine and I had flawless BT functionality...seems we have to wait ...
danielpop 24th April 2009, 16:56 I had flawless BT functionality
Just out of curiosity, what BT functions are you using on a TT ONE. I also have a TT ONE with BT transmitter/receiver, I had successfully enabled BT on x40 emu mode, but I'm not able to find any real and useful usage of it. I paired the device with my phone, but I can't use TT as hands-free because my TT model doesn't have a microphone (is there any TT ONE with mic?). I don't have a subscription to TT services, so I can't no useful here as well (anyway, what is the link between TT services and BT?).
scoiattolo49 24th April 2009, 17:16 You access TT services via GPRS/UMT and for that you need a phone connected via BT! ;)
Of course you need to have a subscription to most services, plus you will pay the data usage on your phone
mineplayid 24th April 2009, 19:09 newest version from today?
@ianc60:
I have installed the newest version on mine One XL and I am amazed about the free ram. In rest-mode it has 7,5mb free ram (of 32mb). Using my TMC-receiver in rest-mode it still had 5,8mb of free ram.
Still running as model 'iqxls', with setconfig the following: tbon (only for making the 'speedcam'-button visible), nomsg, runclean and rm. :yourock:

Here's my setconfig.txt which seems to be working okay. I have a TTOne v4 (aka Limited Edition US version with SD card). This is NOT with TTUser's 1.1 revision (which I just learned about now while reading the last few posts).

guijarrelson 25th April 2009, 04:37 For me, the ttsystem in iq1 emulation, works more fluid than the v1.1 of ttuser in any x40light emulation.
mineplayid 25th April 2009, 10:28 @TT_user
I've tested the rev1.1 on my One XL today with model 'x40light2' and 'x40light3'. It has less free ram (-2mb) then the version of ianc60 as model 'iqxls'. :sorry:
vincentn1981 25th April 2009, 12:19 @mineplayid That's very strange, because the x40light# switches are doing the same as in ianc60 his version. So that probably is not causing this effect.

tjilitjap 25th April 2009, 13:32 Hi Guijarrelson and Mineplayid, have you guys not forgotten to use the folder "outsourced" ? Just an idea...
vincentn1981 25th April 2009, 13:36 If you want to use x40light# emulation then do not forget to NOT use the basicpack but to use the content of the original .cab file of TomTom.
WARNING remove the system file if you do not want to have a new bootloader!
TTuser also mentioned this in his first post, but maybe it is not that clear yet!!!

In the original cab there ain't no folder "outsourced", that's in the Basicpack.
And TTUSER writes ONLY pndnavigator-file from Basicpack...

danielpop 25th April 2009, 14:04 Hi guys,
you are doing a great job, but some "small explanations" are missing. What are doing the three x40light modes (x40light, x40light2 and x40light3) + iq1 + iqxls, and what are the differences between them? Does anyone know the technical details behind (at least TTuser and ianc60 should ;) and is willing to share with all of us? Knowing more details about these modes, everyone of us will be able to use the switch that best suits his/her needs, and stop playing/guessing/arguing which one is better.

chrisdack 25th April 2009, 14:46 Hi - first start after upgrade from 8.140 to 8.142 on my 910 worked. When I put it in cradle and turned on found RDSTMC immediately, and connected.
Since then it hasn't brought up RDS icon or attempted to scan at all in over 2 hours driving.
Was applying rev1.1 would correct for me, 15 or 20 restarts including a couple of resets didn't help.
Any ideas anyone? Thanks - appreciate your help.

Greetings,
ChipMonk 25th April 2009, 21:22 When the Outsourced folder was first introduced, it was an option primarily to support the models with limited memory such as One. Because of the larger memory of the Go710, I preferred to run without this folder - and very successfully too. However, with SE 8412, I've had numerous problems which appear to be rectified by having Outsourced.8412 installed. Could someone please confirm whether or not the Outsourced.84** folder is now obligatory for the running of the latest navcores on ALL machines.
Thanks again to TTUser for his continued efforts.

Is unnecessary to provide three x40light emulations unless the differences are explained! :oom:
vincentn1981 26th April 2009, 11:33 One of the x40light switches is for the new IQ routes TomTom with the small screen. One probably the x40light2 switch is for the large screen. The other one (x40light3) is maybe a spare and I only found a problem with that one when I went in to the TomTom services menu and then clicked on the traffic icon => it then hangs and restarts. The other 2 switches do not have this problem.
Actually only TomTom knows what the difference is, because TTuser also does not. Just be happy it is there and if one switch is not working that well for you take a other switch.
@vs0587 It is necessary to provide three x40light emulations when you do not know the difference between them and they could probably lead to people having less problems with one of the switches! :oom:
Like with the previous build 8.410 people which had shutdown problems with x40light tried x40light2 instead and did not have these problems anymore.
When you do not understand the need for it, it does not mean that it is not needed, it just means you do not understand it.

In the same line as you, I could say that x40light is for TT One, x40light2 is for TT One XL, and x40light3 is a combination of the other two? Is that correct?
Thanks
vincentn1981 26th April 2009, 13:04 I really do not know. x40light3 was also there in the 8410 version, however TTuser did not enable it, because we did not see any need to do so. However if people do experience problems now they can switch to a other emulation type and maybe the problem is solved. I only tested all 3 switches and noticed one problem with x40light3, while not a big problem. Maybe people can tell us there experience with the different switches?
omolino 26th April 2009, 15:08 deconstructing TTUSER like a GAME!
-------------------------------------------------- ----------
(personal opinion, after reading ...)
The LOQUENDO doesn't work in ONE, NAV 8204 with nav x40 emulation works and everything except loquendo mp3 (perhaps for 32Mb of RAM)
In Nav 8410 Ttuser creates emulation x40light with more memory at the expense of removing mp3, pictures and everything not compulsary to free more memory ...
The Loquendo works and Ttuser free more memory in a second emulation x40light2
Following the success of previous emulations Ttuser continue with navcore 8412 and emulation x40light3, where tomtom services are deleted to free more ram and gain even more ram memory ....
Emulations are LIGHT consists of removing (options) of NAVCORE, and possibly this is the same path it has followed Ianc60, so Ttuser said it was the same but with a different name!
Finally I doubt that will Ttuser is German, becouse his English is bad ...
well not too bad like as mine, my English is much worse ... Apologies
(I hope nobody is angry about my opinion)

I had problems with the x40light,x40light2 and 3.As I removed the bton from the root the x40light3 works great. My tomtomservices are available, the HD traffic works great. I have tomtom xl One with internal hdTraffic.
I am using the rev 1.1 from TTuser. I have appr. 6 mb free ram. I think that is quite nice ( 32 mb available ). I also want to thank people with the experience for all the their great work and support!

roucoups 26th April 2009, 17:15 EPT & Licht/Dark sensor wil work --> run the x30 mode in "model.txt"
well, im already in x30 mode on my go 710 and the dark sensor doesnt work properly with 8.412
for instance, im in the dark, the navigation is dark so from now its ok
but if i manually change for "day colors", it asks if i want to automaticaly change with night colors the night, so i answer yes as i usually do
when i do it, the colors are still day colors, and never change to night colors
what i have to do ? insert a parameter in the setconfig or anything else ?

Yes, with x40, I have both of these issues with two Go710's.
1. is an irritant,
2. would be wonderful except that start-up is very slow, involves some sort of reset and often brings up licence nag screen. So I get 'round this problem by switching on manually before powering up from car - and start-up then works well and quickly. If this glitch could be sorted and power-up via car ignition led to a smooth and fast start-up I'd be very happy!

Thanks for the new btpin.txt file on your new 8.412 SE v1.1...
And thanks again for the new emulations... so we all can try with the "original" ttuser SE version!
What about BTPIN.TXT?
I didn't find any info about BTPIN.TXT.
vincentn1981 27th April 2009, 16:33 with a text file btpin.txt you can change the Bluetooth connection code from the original 0000 to anything you want. You can also do it in the setconfig.txt file by:
btpin: 0123
for example. This is still a feature which needs to be tested. Some people report that it does not work. So if you can try and let us know if it works, that would be splendid.
Raffetti 27th April 2009, 16:51 The btpin.txt file is reported in the "extracted" etc\rc linux script inside the "compacted" ttsystem file.
Main news are the reintroduced (respect the first 8.412 SE version) x40light2 (hardware id 35 passed to ttn, the main software navigation) and x40light3 (id=36)
Other news are about the file btpin.txt in root OR (not and) btpin:xxxx (without any spaces) inside setconfig.txt if used containing the value to put in etc\bluetooth\pin. So TomTom is no more "locked" on pairing code 0000 while pairing with other devices who cannot change their pairing code....
This works when some devices wants to connect to the tomtom (acts like a server, eg. while searching phone cells), while when is the tomtom who wants to connect (acts like a client, eg. during the hifi speaker searching) to other devices the pairing code can be normally choosed.
Those are the complete list of "switchfile" used in 8.412 SE version 1.1:
sl="ttsoff btoff bton fmon fmoff delgns delmap rm debug debugtotxt nomsg viewmsg silent usesetting cleanflash noqfixdel noclean runclean runcheck showmoreinfo makesirfreset tweakfreemem reduceflicker"

I have already found that tutorial, all it really says to do about upgrading the system is backup and then unzip the latest files? (the video seems dated)
would that work with a TomTom XL?
vincentn1981 27th April 2009, 18:19 @Raffetti Now I see that TTuser indeed almost completely rewrote the /etc/rc file. I thought he would have changed the kernel and not this .cpio filesystem part.
Raffetti 27th April 2009, 18:33 For now, i cannot "un-cpio" all the files inside ttsystem and/or pndnavigator (i use windows, not linux, so i can only "extract" in a single file), the rc file is almost equal to the first one, but there is another ttsystem, the ianc60's one that is bigger and first "introduced" the id's 34 and 36 for iq1 and iqxls (x40light &x40light3 in new ttuser 1.1 SE version).
With ianc60's navcore i have NO 30-50mt delay with real position, this afternoon (now in italy) i'll try if also ttuser's navcore 8.412 SE 1.1 is ok (the original version wasn't!)
Raffetti 27th April 2009, 20:17 I confirm that the btpin.txt file in root, or (but not and) btpin:xxxx inside setconfig.txt works! (The TT says to insert "0000" pin on device for pairing, but instead the TT uses the one we put in btpin!).
The only problem is the 30-50 meters delay from real position that happens also with latest 8.412 ttuser's SE navcore, while there is NO DELAY with ianc60's 8.412 one!
EricW 27th April 2009, 22:21 Hi,
I've just read all 27 pages so far:confused:. A lot of information!
I want to install navcore 8.412.1236 on my GO710 and want to use it with map 825.2157.
What SE-version would be the best working solution on my GO710: the one from TTuser in the first posting or the one from paris2k supplied in his posting at the bottom of page 4 and do I have to make modifications to them in order to work fine on my GO710?
Many thanks in advance!:urtheman:
joepoppa 27th April 2009, 23:00 Yes, with x40, I have both of these issues with two Go710's.
1. is an irritant,
2. would be wonderful except that start-up is very slow, involves some sort of reset and often brings up licence nag screen. So I get 'round this problem by switching on manually before powering up from car - and start-up then works well and quickly. If this glitch could be sorted and power-up via car ignition led to a smooth and fast start-up I'd be very happy!
what bootloader are you using? I upgraded to 5.5122 and it did not solve the issue.
ianc60 27th April 2009, 23:03 @ericw
don't even bother with paris2k dowload on page 4. It's just a repack of ttusers post on page 1. It not even the newest version 1.1 from ttuser!!
forget it!
ericpedro 27th April 2009, 23:11 Am I right in saying that I read somewhere on this forum that ASR can be used to do other things apart from inputting addresses, eg switching to night view, or changing the volume?
I can't seem to find the post anywhere, so was it wishful thinking for my part?
Thanks,
ericpedro.
h72fs2 27th April 2009, 23:14 The only problem is the 30-50 meters delay from real position that happens also with latest 8.412 ttuser's SE navcore, while there is NO DELAY with ianc60's 8.412 one!
I still have that delay problem, can someone help me? Here is my system:
http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/3302/tomtomv3.th.jpg (http://img208.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tomtomv3.jpg)
GPS V.1.20
Bootloader 5.5128
hardware:
Tomtom One 3 edition (512 MB)
4N01.000
Software I use:
SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack.rar
TTSYSTEM_8.412.1236_ianc60_20090423.zip
Config and model settins:
model = x40
setconfig =
changedtext:TomTom One
ttsoff
bton
fmoff
so is there any config/model or other settings I can use to get rid off that 30-50 meters delay from real position? or any other good settings I can use in my tomtom 3?
Thanks already to you who can help me
ianc60 27th April 2009, 23:31 whats with your boot version??

I think your problem is your bootloader. That is the one version that can.t be updated if i am not mistaking.
Diablos86 27th April 2009, 23:49 it's not bootloader, the bootloader v. 1.xxxx appers using tthome. but the real bootloader is another version.
My xl with 5.5122 has the retard, and it had with original boot too
h72fs2 28th April 2009, 00:02 Yes, my mistake, my tomtom use Bootloader 5.5128, but I have to say that I have had that delay problem every bootloader version I have tried, so I don't think so that the problem is in the bootloader at all

Thnx! :good2:
Just to be sure: I have to unpack the switchfiles and place the Config-map in the root without changes?
schaschlickk 28th April 2009, 03:27 another question:
does it make sense to use the Navcore 8.412.1236 on a new tomtom one iq-routes europe traffic?
the antialiasing feature looks nice...but there is no sound...and some other problems...:hardcry:
lessram 28th April 2009, 12:43 another question:

NOOOO !!!! Don't use the 8.412 NavCore (for the moment).
8.412 is infact the same as yours, but hacked. So you won't fix anything IMHO.
Also now your maps are legal....
So I don't think there's any reason to use this hacked version.
vincentn1981 28th April 2009, 12:54 Well, maybe he just wants to try different menu layouts, like the x20 or x30. Anyway if he just makes a backup of his current setup nothing can go wrong. However I think there is no real gain in using x20 or x30 emulation, but he could have fun playing around with it :D.
schaschlickk 28th April 2009, 16:11 :thanks: for your opinions!
now its working great on my one iq routes - with sound, tmc, ...
it's booting faster than 8.410 - the maps looks nicer - more options
(using setconfig.txt - model:iq1)
(don't use the loquendotts folder from 8.412!!!)
i'm testing this configuration because the original 8.410 gets corrupted often, when i connect the device with the pc over usb (fat errors - dont know why...)
the only not so nice thing is now, that i have no chance to go back to the previous bootloader ("system"). version 5.5128 is copied persistent in the device. or is there any way to switch back?
vincentn1981 28th April 2009, 16:18 As of yet nobody found out yet how to downgrade the bootloader. However I also don't know a lot of people whom are having problems with their new bootloader. So I do not really see the need to downgrade. Anyway if you really have the new TomTom One Iq-route then this bootloader is also mend for your device so all should be fine.
EricW 28th April 2009, 17:38 Please help!
After installing 8.412.1236 I copied ASR and LoquendoTTS (incl. \Dutch\Saskia and \Dutch\Willem) from previously made backup of the SD, but I can't find the digital voices Willem and Saskia..
How can I use these voices again?
vincentn1981 28th April 2009, 17:47 Why you copy stuff back and not try to do a fresh install of LoquendoTTS first before asking questions? Is this a legal LoquendoTTS or is it the folder from the basicpack from the navcore version which you are using now?
I suggest you try copying back the LoquendoTTS folder from the basicpack 8.412 navcore version over the current LoquendoTTS folder you have now. That should solve your problem. Also check if you are not using the switch ttsoff, if so remove it and add the switch runcheck.
EricW 28th April 2009, 18:46 Sorry that I didn't mention that I tried a fresh install first. That didn't work so I copied the backup version.
I copied back the LoquendoTTS (8.412), added the voices to it and removed the ttsoff switch but still no Willem or Saskia available :anger:.
Other suggestions?
vincentn1981 28th April 2009, 18:50 Humm, strange, maybe redownload the saskia and willem voice (first download x30 LoquendoTTS, they are smaller and it therefore goes faster) and then copy when you extracted those .cab files in the LoquendoTTS folder copy over that the LoquendoTTS folder from the basicpack.
That should work.
You can also add the 'runcheck' switch (read the readmenot.txt) to see if you have the right loquendo lib installed.
If you have the big loquendoTTS installed (so x10 LoquendoTTS you also need to use the LoquendoTTS folder for that one of ocurse).
What device are you using actually and what kind of emulation?
If you have a One you should use x40light otherwise LoquendoTTS won't work.
EricW 28th April 2009, 19:34 I use a GO710 with X30 emulation.
I've tried new downloads of the voices ( http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1972184&postcount=111 ) but they didn't solve the problem. Where can I find the x30 LoquendoTTS?
Thanks so far!

EricW,
For the folder LoquendoTTS read here :

EricW 28th April 2009, 21:59 Thnx! Willem and Saskia are back again :egdance:.
However my GO710 restarts frequently (± every minute!) now :(. I tried X30 and X40 emulation, but that makes no difference.
It appears not possible to put in an address to navigate to by voice too. I suppose that should be possible with 8.412.1236 (& 825.2157) as it was with 8.002.3024 (& 805.1801) I used previously!?!
joepoppa 29th April 2009, 01:52 Hi,
I have a x10. I asked this question earlier but seems that nobody has a solution.
When unit is off:
1) If SD card is removed, after 1 minute, unit turns on.
2) When unit is placed in home charger/cradle, after 1 minute unit turns on.
WHAT IS GOING ON? THIS IS A REALLY BAD BUG.

sd card removal can some time do make unit restart ,
charger cradle i donot have x10 device ,
but i recomend use ttuser config settings correctly should cure all your problems given in readmenot text will be your only answer play the switches you may find one answer for your x10 .

The reboot problem seems to be solved after changing settings :excited:.
Remaining question: is it true that you lose the possibility of spoken address on a GO710 when upgrading form SE_8.002.3024 to SE_8.412.1236 or do I need a different ASR than the one I used with SE8.002.3024? I that case: where can I find an ASR that I have to use with 8.412.1236?
Thanks in advance!
vincentn1981 29th April 2009, 13:51 Spoekn addresses is LoquendoTTS or VocalizerTTS, where TTS means text-to-speech. ASR is for when your device has a mic (yours has) and when you want to talk to your TomTom to tell it what to do.
For example:"Navigate To" and then " Home".
ASR folder is I think the same. LoquendoTTS voices are the same (x30 type). If it does not work you have to copy back the LoquendoTTS from the basicpack 8.412.
EricW 29th April 2009, 16:27 Since I've the LoquendoTTS of grard31 (see above) I can see and use the voices I need. I couldn't see (and use) them with the LoquendoTTS from the basicpack. I use the ASR from my backup, but have no menu options for spoken address. I think ASR might be the problem. Can someone supply me an ASR for 8.412.1236 on GO710 please? :urtheman:
vincentn1981 29th April 2009, 16:31 @EricW you haven't read the first post of TTuser have you??
Well here it is: http://www.anonym.to/?http://rapidshare.com/files/143617469/ASR.rar
