TT1 3rd Ed. As per tutorial added map North America 825.2210 applied patch using Easy Keygen Tools. As per tutorial upgrad navcor to 8.410.1218. applied patch. Seemingly all worked. It also lists GPS v1.20 Boot 1.0012.
Unit starts, waits for signal and seemingly works but as soon as screen is touched it freezes or goes into reboot by itself. Sometimes even without screen being touched. Since after aplied patched I have connected unit to official update site through Home I am afraid TT might have sent a bug into my 'hacked' unit. Is it possible and how to get out of it? Help.:confused:

Just reinstall in all again. I think that you have not used the basicpack. You have to use the basicpack and the SEttsystem of 1 navcore version. I would suggest btw 8.413, which can be found in the topic of the SENavCore 8.412.
If you in TTHome did not select to install a new navcore version (which is actually after installing this 8.413 version older) than nothing will happen. If you however do select this. You will do actually a downgrade of your navcore and your downloaded map from here won't work anymore.

There are ways to prevent TomTom Home from offering you a downgrade in navcore. This can be done with the file version.txt in the /config folder and writing in there the appropriate navcore build which is official for your version. For details read the readmenot.txt file and the numerous howto, which can also be found on this great website.

TomTom Home does not sent bugs to your decive. It just wants you to install the official navcore version for your device.

Thanks Vincent for your reply. I restored it back to last official working state, which is navcore 8.010 and old map. Restoration worked and then I copied map 825.2210 and applied patches and then it also worked. Obviously I had a problem with navcore 8.410, but now looking back I don't think I am missing much with using 8.010 instead of 8.410?
Anyway it works with new map, me happy. Cheers to everybody and thanks to vincent.:egdance:
