....and everything seems to be working ok.

I was just wondering how I can get the IQ lane graphics onto my maps?

Do I have to install a new map to allow this to work?

I currently have my original maps installed.

I have NavCore v8.412 with maps Western_Europe v650.1047 on a Go710.

Thanks for any help!

All you have to do is install a new map.

Just out of curiosity, are there any files that I can safely delete from the TomTom file system?

I have noticed that I have folders like Navcore.8.412.1236@tomtom.com and Outsourced.8412.

Just wondering if I need them?

Thanks!

The outsourced map is to save memory. Its best to leave that on, unless when you have a 64 mb TomTom, then you could remove it. The Navcore###@tomtom.com is only needed for TT Home to work. You can remove it from there and read the readme's inside on how to set up this to make TTHome work and let you operate your device from with Home.

OK, I have now installed Western_Europe v825.2157, and I still do not seem to have any lane guidance / images when I am driving (although I am just doing it through demo).

Am I missing something? The option is no longer greyed out in preferences!

ALG is a bit hit & miss as to where Teleatlas have actually bothered to map the lanes so may just be un "unmapped" bit of motorway?

I assume it would not be a good idea to allow my tomtom to connect to TomTom online via TomTom Home?

When I connected it with just the new navcore it said my device had an invalid software version, and it gave me an option to send to tomtom (anonymous), does this mean that tomtom does not actually know that I have changed my device?

I tried to set my device code to the last known official codes using the setconfig.txt ( I think that's the file, on my phone at the moment so can't check).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for all the help and patience so far!

>>> You'd better use Home in order to get mapshare updates, quickfix, etc.

>>> My guess is that they don't care and are too happy to get beta testers for free.

>>> Should do it. Look for a ttgo.bak file in root dir. If there is none then try again, eventually with version.txt instead. Also make sure you used correct settings for your device.

So am I safe to sign up to mapshare through tomtom home with my unofficial Navcore and pirated, keygen'd maps?

OK I have a ttgo.bak file in the root of my SD card, but it has the Unofficial Navcore version I have installed listed.

I have tried deleting it and letting the device re-generate it, with a version.txt (With A:7903 B:9183) in the config folder, however, it just re-generates with the unofficial values (Navcore 8).

Am I missing something?

Thanks again.

Thanks, I have downloaded the updates (but I never signed into my account), so this should be ok?

Thanks

You only need to sign in/register your device if you're using latest map guarantee. Everything else is available without signing in.

@StuMcBill
Certainly you're doing something wrong ;-)
Don't worry : you can edit ttgo.bak and change the values by yourself.

OK ttgo.bak has the values I put in version.txt, but ttgo.bif has the unofficial values in it?

Is this correct!

Sorry again for the daft questions!

Humm, if you have a SE navcore version (so the once made by TTuser) and I think you do, you can now just delete the ttgo.bif file or just restart and shutdown your device. This navcore version at every start up now copies the ttgo.bak file over the ttgo.bif file, so tthome thinks you are running the appropriate version for your device.

I am sure I tried that yesterday, but obviously not! :egdance: :urtheman:
