View Full Version : TomTom GO 300 Navcore, Maps Combo
rohit92 25th May 2009, 18:41 I have a TomTom Go 300 and I recently updated it with a navcore_SE_8.300.9732. After that, I installed the USA and Canada 825.2159 maps, but I am still having trouble. The screen seems to just hang if I click on the map and I don't know what else to do to fix it? I know I did it right too because I did steps several times. Any suggestions on any other maps and navcore combinations that would work for this TomTom GO 300. I really want fairly recent maps because my neighborhood fairly. Let me know. Thanks
P.S.- Please links to any navcores or maps you suggest because I am sort of newbie and have been only finding dead links. Thanks
The biggest problem here is that I don't really know which Navcores and Maps can work together on my TomTom GO 300..

Official Navcore for your unit is 7903 so unless you want/need an incompatible map to this, stick with it.
rohit92 25th May 2009, 19:09 So the only US map that works with my TomTom is the 830.2321? correct? Does anyone know where to find that and where can I find this 7903 navcore that you speak of? Thanks for the help ahead of time...

That is the only one that will work with a 300 official navcore. However, that map has not been posted on any of the forums that I monitor. Get 7903 with TT Home "Update my device".
rohit92 25th May 2009, 19:23 Can you direct me to an actual file for the navcore because as I said before, I currently on navcore 8.300.9732 because of my stupidity... :( I won't be able to upgrade to that navcore this way using TT home. I do have a backup of my original SD card, but I know when I tried to upgrade that, it did not update the navcore... So let me know where I download the navcore that would work for my TomTom GO 300... Thanks

Here is 7.900. Load that & then TT Home should up you to 7.903

Or just delete all loose files (NOT folders) from your SD card then run TThome.
rohit92 25th May 2009, 20:54 alright thanks... so which map should I download now? I have 7.903 navcore...

You have 2 US options. USA & Canada 825.2159 or 825.2210. Both are available in the New Maps 825 thread.
rohit92 25th May 2009, 21:19 Alright... So I guess I will go with 2210 because that is a little newer, right? Alright. I will see what happens... Thanks!

Originally, I was able to upgrade to 7.903 by doing this process; however, when I did the steps of the installation process for the maps, I must have messed up somewhere so I started from scratch again. But now when I try to update this navcore, the only update TomTom home shows me is version 6.520. Which is actually a downgrade from when install 7.900. I don't know why TomTom home is doing this. AGH!!! My head is going to explode!

Just because TTHome don't see map younger than TT6xxx. Put any TT7/TT8 map in your device's memory - and it will propose appreciate navcore for you
rohit92 26th May 2009, 01:28 Alright guys, I got it to work! When I put the files for the 7.900 navcore, I was not restarting my TomTom for some reason. So it was not recognizing the newly added files. Once I restarted, I was then able to upgrade to 7.903 and patch it. The one interesting thing that I came across was when I was try to install the 825.2210 maps from this forum, I was having trouble patching it, where it would say "the map was not activated". So I used the 825.2159 maps from this forum and did the same patch, AND IT WORKED! YAY! Just for future reference, does anyone know why one map worked and the other one didn't. They were both compatible with my navigation and its navcore and I had both of them in the meta.txt? Let me know what is the reasoning behind that. Alright, well thanks for all your help guys. This was a tough obstacle, and after much hard work, we were finally able to get it done. Thanks again.
