I have heard that people have successfully downgraded their phones (to be precise, A Nokia N81 from 21.x.xx to 20.0.56. I am currently in this situation where I am wondering if it is safe. I am following these instructions:

1. First you need to download these programs, they will show up on google:
OGM Development Jaf Key Emulator v4 cracked
J.A.F
Phoenix or Navifirm

2. Using Phoenix on Navifirm download the firmware 20.0.56

3. Install J.A.F and on the crack select step 2 on the tab, select jaf then click go.

DOWNGRADE PROCESS

1 EXIT PC Suite

2. Run JAF ang go to BB5 tab...

3. Turn on the phone (if was off)

4. Connect phone to the PC in PC Suite (for S60) or general (if not mistaken, for S40) mode

5. Check Service Settings -> Read PM checkbox and hit Service button. Than enter 0 for Start and hit OK, and enter 500 for end and hit OK. When prompted to save file, save in some secure place where it cannot be damaged!

6. Remove Service Settings -> Read PM checkbox and check Service Settings -> Read PP checkbox an hit Service. Than save this file, when prompted, in the same place with PM file.

7. Now we have all possible backups for the bad case.

8. Remove Service Settings -> Read PP checkbox. And set:
- Manual Flash
- Factory set
- Normal mode (usually already set)
- CRT 308
- DOWNGRADE

9. Use check box Use Ini if you have proper firmware installed for Phoenix, this will make jaf read procuct code from your mobile phone, search the pc for installed fw and suggest you to choose one . Other way use MCU, PPM, CNT buttons to choose files manualy. (Note: MCU file must have .C0(zero)R extension, not .mcusw or .fpsx or smth)

10. Hit Flash button, JAF will ask you if files are selected properly, check twice and agree.

(mine said it would kill my phone at this point, but i just contined it and it worked..)

11. WAITING….DO NOT use PC while flashing 'coz I tale NO responsibility!

12 . After you see your phone turned on all is DONE

I have JAF with the files at the ready to flash the phone with, but I want to know how high the risk is before I attempt it.
