Hi, this is my first contribution to this forum and also my first post.

This will allow you to run the latest IGO Amigo version 8.4 on most Sony Nav-U devices. I have mine working perfectly on my U53 as shown below.

Remember to always backup your original device software incase anything goes wrong.

All you need to do is download the 2 files below, they contain 2 folders that you need to copy to the devices mounted volume. Backup and delete everything from your mounted volume and then copy the 2 folders over.

It's pretty simple, the first time it loads it will ask you if you want to load IGO Amigo, say yes and it should load, it will take a while the first time.

All you need to do then is get the maps and 3d buildings etc into the relevent folders. This will work with 8.3 and 8.4 maps. Its the same folder structure as IGO8. But you will have to create your own folders

I don't know too much about GPS Sony
Is very frustrating, I find a new version of firmware, original SONY, who will change navigon version, after connect the GPS to pc, I can see with explorer what I have inside, folders, files... but when I want to connect to nv-tool to make this update... I receive this message: device not connected.
But, I don't care about that nou. I will be more happy with Igo8.
So, please, can you give me more details, links,... how to do it.

Hi, I manage to have dual GPS software. You can choice between SONY and IGO... after hardreset. Some bad things about IGO on SONY: Is starting very slow. 40-50 seconds... Not working automation change day/night colors. Light sensor is not operational... Everything else is working good.
If you are interested of this, replay and I will try to help you with all detail. (I did this few months ago. I hope to remember all).

To all interested in working PRIMO on SONY U53
Here I have edit simple menu downloaded from this forum running at startup with shortucts to usefull utilities.
The PRIMO shortcut is looking for PRIMO folder in main flash but you can edit this menu very easy and point in anywhere to memory stick
