View Full Version : Problem with Carbide 3.4
ind190 7th June 2009, 10:54 Dear BR, DS or somebody.....
I've problems with my carbide 3.4. When I click or open carbide... the carbide logo change to eclipse. Maybe that's why I dont see "reference color" in my layer. How to restore this? FYI I already uninstalled and reinstalled carbide but still got the problem.

dhanusaud 7th June 2009, 11:28 A Java mainstream "Eclipse" which used in Carbide.UI Theme Studio got an update. There is no exact solution for this problem. :P
You try reinstalling it & work on new workspace. Remember not to use old Workspace.

Maybe this is signed for me to stop making new themes and stop my dream to be the theme maker. Now I knew I dont have talent and dont have ability to be theme maker.:hardcry::hardcry::hardcry:
Thanks bro for your helped, at least now I knew about illustrator and inkscape. All because of you.
dhanusaud 7th June 2009, 17:56 unistall carbide, restart your system, & delete directory named as "Carbide.UI Theme Edition 3.4" from "C:\Program Files\Nokia"
Now go to where your previous workspace was located, search for directory named as "epoc32" delete it, & delete it from "C:" drive too.
Clean your registry entries by a freeware known as "Ccleaner".
Now restart system & try reinstalling again :)

Ok bro, I'll try later.... but I still hate carbide..... Now I try make new themes without reference color, for changing the color I used inkscape or illustrator. In facts my carbide more faster than before. So I think Java program in carbide (ref. color) make carbide slowly.
I m using windows 7 RC now and it's better than vista.
Thanks Bro...

If this problem unsolved, maybe somebody have to tell to carbide developer to solve this bug.
Otherwise I'll change color using inkscape or illustrator one by one.

ind190 19th June 2009, 05:43 Finally my carbide was repaired. Maybe this method only for Vista and windows 7 users. :triodance:
You also have to set all the permissions for your user on /nokia/carbide folder: right click -> properties -> security -> click on edit -> click on your user -> click "allow" on "full control".
change permission with ADVANCE, then apply to "This folder. subfolders, and files" only.
Many big thanks to KLEHUS (KLM)...... without you maybe I formatted my HD. :partyman:
