I can read ;-) Well interesting to hear from others if it does, because I double checked everything, permissions all, not working for me.
What I am going to do is re-install everything, see if I get a trial period back, then install the patch again....keep you posted
harryBN95_8G 8th June 2009, 14:05 Here is a pic of Winscp.
* if you have make an update from 01 to 02 the patch iDA will overwrite.
you must rename the iDA_ in iDA_old, the IDA in iDA_ and copy the Patch file again iDA. set 0755!

But I see private/var/stash where you perform the changes.
I made them in /applications/ida.app. Does that matter or is the /private/var/stash... a link to /applications/ida.app?

cg94cg 8th June 2009, 20:58 this actually is sygic mcguider am I right? I'll give it a try!
cg94cg 8th June 2009, 22:31 Ok. I've managed to make it work. :egdance: First of all you have to start the app once before you do the rest. This is how I did it: I renamed the iDA file form the iDA folder to iDA_ and changed it's permission to 0755. Then I took the patch from the 2nd post of this topic and moved it into the iDA folder. I changed the date to 2009-06-04 and set the permission to 0755. Then I launched iDA. It said that it expired. No problem. After this I reedited the iDA file and changed the date to 2009-06-08 (today's date). And launched iDA again. And now it works. Easy. :goodluck:

mdOOza 9th June 2009, 22:56 Are there maps for South Africa for this app? Please help!
emonty 10th June 2009, 14:01 worked for few days, now it starts-up, get the startup screen and then the application shuts down :hardcry:
emonty 10th June 2009, 16:10 Harry,
Ok, this is what I did:
1.) removed IDA and maps via ICY (de-installed);
2.) deleted the IDA app directory
3.) checked for IDA instances with Iphone-PCSuite and it came only up with 3 files (logs)
Do you know if there are other "hidden" one's I missed?
4.) restarted IPhone;
5.) Installed IDA and one map via ICY
6.) Started IDA and I get message: Trial expired
found one reference that I missed last time, now searching like *ida*.* and the search gave me IDApp.sh which resides in the directory /Applications/Installous.app. Deleted that one.
Ok I can enter the app again: get message trial expires in 0 days.
Moved the the date one month ahead to see if it works: NO it does not: Trial expired :blast:
emonty 10th June 2009, 20:53 A lot of people have looked (and installed it ???) at this thread. I would like to know for whom it is working after the trial period with this workaround. A friend of mine has the same problem as I have. So I do not believe this works. Anybody does?????
Adek 22 10th June 2009, 22:51 is there any other way them of cydia?? If is, how??

Retoocs_01 11th June 2009, 17:00 @ ALL
Easy way (without Putty and commands) to install .deb file if you have Cydia installed is to sipmly put that file via Winscp (or simular) in /private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/ and after that all you need is to reboot your iphone.
If someone dont have AutoInstall folder just create on...
My permission is 7777 for that folder and this solution works fine for me...
I hope if this help...

cg94cg 26th June 2009, 14:03 did anyone manage to install ida after the trial has expired?? and how?
cg94cg 4th July 2009, 22:39 Ok. I found this guide on another forum for how to install iDA after the trial had expired. This is for the users who updated to 3.0 and then saw that the trial was expired. This will only work if you have a backup from the time when the trial wasn't expired yet. You first need this backup extractor:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
After you extract it you will see if you have any backups on your pc (the program above is only for pc, if you have a mac it won't work). You should see that in step 2. When you are at step 2 select a backup from the time you know that ida was still working! In my case it was 2009-06-09. Don't worry it won't do anything bad to your phone. It will only extract a file. Now, moving on>>select the backup and click next. Select "restore..manually" and next>select the "+" on library (do not select the bracket), the + on preferences and then tick the bracket for this file: com.ripdev.kali.plist and then click next. Select where you want to extract it and finish. Now ssh your phone..go to /private/var/mobile/Library and copy the extracted file to this folder and overwrite. Now you must apply the time patch to your ida folder as written all over the place. Only that you have to change the date to the time when your backup was made...in my case 2009-06-09. Respring and voila. I used ida-europe-10-2.deb. Hope this will help you.
bluenose50 5th July 2009, 23:02 were willi find the ida folder using winscp
stevevalo 8th July 2009, 15:23 I have a 3G OS3 and I just can't crack it. Tried everyting and now trial has expired.
Is there a way to completely remove it?
Cisco_guy 27th May 2010, 11:27 do i have to hack my Iphone before doing this?
Scoiattolo 28th May 2010, 15:17 Thread is nearly one year old...
But yes to install any App you find in this forum you have to jailbreak your iPhone first.
