I've received numerous PM's and seen requests for Aerize Card Loader. Now this isn't an unusual request in principal. However, I do believe there is a general misconception that Aerize Card Loader allows software installation directly to SD Card for execution.
Disclaimer: Let me state this is purely my opinion KarbonPhyba's ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) so feel free to agree / disagree as everyone is welcome and entitled to their own opinion.
To the best of my knowledge there is currently NO known Blackberry application that allows installation & execution of software directly from SD Card.
In my opinion the truth is this ...
Unfortunately, Aerize Card Loader merely packages the installation setup (COD) files and places the result onto the SD Card ready for future device memory installation. If you read the PDF Manual ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) you'll see the SD Card Configuration section covers this exact subject.
The software will then speak of loading and unloading 'installations'. Again this is a misconception ... the software still requires your Blackberry to have enough available device memory to load a new application because it essentially uses the SD Card packaged files & installs (loads) it directly to the Blackberry device memory. Once you're done with the software you use Aerize Card Loader to uninstall (unload) the software freeing valuable device memory space.
So to summarize, Aerize Card Loader will NOT allow you to install or RUN software directly to SD Card. It's simply a mechanism to store COD setup files for OTA like installation to device memory.
Achieve similar functionality for FREE !!!
For a considerable time I've been achieving similar functionality by using the supplied GenJad4BB (MS Windows only) to generate a .JAD (from .COD setup files) for installation from SD Card. Whereas GenJad4BB is not 100% perfect it works for almost all applications I've tried.
Some applications come with a prepared .JAD for installation from SD Card, but, for those that don't this is what you need to do.
Follow these steps
This process enables you to store all your favorite software on SD Card for future installation to device memory.
Simply run GenJad4BB; drag and drop the .COD file you want to 'package' for installation from SD Card, tell the software where you want the resulting .JAD file and associated .COD files to be stored and click the Jad button.
Once GenJad4BB has finished then it's simply a matter of connecting up the BlackBerry for mass storage & copy the generated files to the SD Card.
Once copied to the BlackBerry; disconnect and then run the Media application & select Explore from the menu.
Select Media Card and navigate to the folder you stored your .JAD & .COD 'packaged' files.
Select the .JAD file and the OTA installation screen will appear
Select Download and you're done !
So now if you're running low on device memory you can safely uninstall your least used application(s) knowing that if you do need to reinstall, you can then use your SD card packaged setup files to do so.
Hope this helps ... and if you still feel you need Aerize Card Loader then download the trial from here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) then PM me your PIN for a registration code and see for yourself if you're getting what you expect from the product description. :)
All the best, KarbonPhyba.

Hi a4t,
I don't have a Storm to play with right now but can you try the supplied .JAD and copy this to Docs2Go installation folder with the .COD files and see if it works. If not then I'll investigate later when I may have more time; chances are we'd need to create separate .JAD for each Docs2Go component ;)
as you see, the DocsToGoCommon47.cod is in the list, but after finnish installed OTA (from my website) that BB dont install the docstogocommon47.cod... izit becoz its file that over 1mb (1.191kb)
after that i try to make jad file only to installing DocsToGoCommon47 <-- the code like you wrote, i made it with genjad4bb v0.3b <-- otomatically split into 17 parts.. and after install, wordtogo, excel and slide sez error in java blablabla
so is docstogo cracked, cannot be installed OTA? and must be use javaloader to put it on the bb? *confused* hehehe
btw thanks for the answer Karbon.

OK I've tried and tested this and it seems to work ..
Karbon,
just realized that DocsToGoCommon.cod for Color Models BlackBerry is splitted (DocsToGoCommon-1 till -16)... at storm installer, DocsToGoCommon47.cod is single files (1.191kb)
is that makking trouble bcoz the filesize? maybe size limit in single file that above 1 mb??
as i notice installer OTA never bigger than 1mb....
I try to make JAD that put DocsToGoCommon47.cod seperated to 16 parts (like genjad4bb generated) but when installed on storm, it error in java blablabla, when opening wordtogo...
right now im trying to make jad for Jave... (color models)
i'll let you know the result after this
Thanks

OK - Please use the Docs2Go files I posted Here so we're both using the same installation files. Also, don't worry about the previous .JAD I've just realized I had attached the wrong .JAD.
Please try the attached - I've just installed the apps fine using this attachment. :)

So just to clarify, if you're a Storm owner and want to install Docs2Go via SD Card then ...
Download the Docs2Go distribution posted Here (includes serial)
Download DocsToGoCommon-OTAWorking.zip from Here (see posts above)
Unpack Docs2Go & DocsToGoCommon-OTAWorking.zip into the same folder.
Connect up the BlackBerry for mass storage & copy all Doc2Go files to the SD Card.
Once copied to the BlackBerry; disconnect and then run the Media application & select Explore from the menu.
Select Media Card and navigate to the folder you stored your Docs2Go .JAD & .COD files.
Select the DocsToGoCommon.jad file and the OTA installation screen will appear
Select Download and you're done !

Thanks for the step guide Karbon.. but if installing from memorycard, i already did and works fine... but when trying to make it OTA enable... always error bcoz DocsToGoCommon47.cod never installed. is that some restriction that prevent installing OTA more than 1mb size?
Sorry this thread is out of topic too much... maybe can I add you in my BBM list? and we can discuss futher there? if you dont mind...

It's all educational so don't worry about going off topic too much. The main reason I first posted was to raise awareness of SD Card & OTA type installation since Aerize Card Loader doesn't actually perform according to it's advertised description.
Anyway, moving on to your challenge... you shouldn't have the 1mb problem if you try using the software distribution I've provided and utilize my prepared .JAD. I was able to successfully install Docs2Go using this method via OTA & SD Card.
I don't know which webserver software you're using but you should ensure that you configured a ".htaccess" file in each folder you plan to serve .COD & .JAD and possibly .JAR files.
This will ensure file format detection handling is appropriately configured.
I'm afraid this is nothing personal a4t so please don't take offense, I don't publish my PIN as my BB is used purely for business purposes. However, please feel free to contact me here and I'll assist as best I can (time permitting). :)
All the best, KarbonPhyba.

@Karbon, yes i already did everthing.... but now when I try to install DoscToGo for storm, from OTA (web), installing from memorycard.. always error at DocsToGoCommon47.cod
That not happen with DocsToGo v1.007.036 for Color models aka Bold, Javelin, curve83xx, and 8800 huron.
The problem is only at Storm 9500 (i just test with that model, dont have 9530), always stuck at DocsToGoCommon47.cod
When installing from memorycard, after 20% it sez invalid COD.. terminated..
when installing OTA web, DocsToGoCommon47.cod never be installed
OTA web, DocsToGoCommon47.cod splitted into 17parts (Auto generated Genjad4bb)...
when launch word/excel/slide it sez missing DocsToGoCommon47-1.cod (theres -1 on it)
The only way i can install it is from PC direct with .bat file and javaloader.exe
javaloader -u load *.cod
with that way Documents To Go works normal at my storm.. <-- but theres no option DELETE at Applications screen (Options >> Advanced Options >> Applications)
really want that DoscToGo can be installed OTA web on the storm.. :( *confuse*
@Karbon its ok about BB PIN, i'll reach you here in this forum if need help. Thanks alot :)

@a4t
I'm not sure why you're having the problems with your Storm OTA Docs2Go installation. Are you still using your own files for DocsToGoCommon47 generated using GenJad?
If so, then I suggest you use my Storm distribution I've previously posted Here. It's likely to be different to the files you're using and could be the cause for why yours is failing on DocsToGoCommon47.
Note: GenJad wasn't used in the creation of these files !
The DocsToGoCommon.jad (within DocsToGoCommon-OTAWorking.zip) was hand crafted from scratch in notepad as I didn't trust GenJad to handle the job correctly with so many files.
I acquired the 16x DocsToGoCommon47 .CODS etc directly from DataViz so there are NO conversion problems as they are original files.

thanks a lot for this detailed information.
Blackberry must do something about this major major glitch in their os. Ability to install on sd card is a must.
alternatively they can increase their device memory
