I would appreciate it if someone can show me how to go about changing the serial number for doc-to-go premium. I tried uninstall then re-install but that didn't help. Obviously the serial number is being stored somewhere on the phone and remains even after uninstall.

Thank you!

Hi hsj - welcome to the forum. :)

The serial number is specific to particular versions of Docs2Go.

Since it's not clear which version you're using (or have used) or for which BlackBerry device ... May I suggest you start from the beginning & try following my instructions posted here ensuring you download and install Docs2Go 1.007 using the correct serial. Providing your using this version and follow the instructions you should have no problem activating the premium features.

If you still have problems, post another msg here with full details and we'll help you through the process.

KarbonPhyba - Thanks for the warm welcome.

I have a Storm 9350 and installed the storm-specific version (OS 4.7) by coping all the cod files alone with the jad file onto the SD card.

The premium features have been activated with no problem. I was just curious about where the device stores the reg info. This will come in handy just in case if the one that I am using got blacklisted. I tried many different places on the device but still couldn't figure it out.

Any idea?

@hsj:

Now that's an entirely different story. Unless you have intimate developer knowledge of the RIM Device Java library package net.rim.device.api.crypto.keystore I wouldn't suggest you spend too much time on it. Typically permissions, certificates, passwords extra are maintained within the various keystores.

So at a very high level, you'd need access & locate the appropriate keystore and decrypt accordingly. Not something for the faint hearted.

KarbonPhyba - Thanks for educating me =) I thought it would be an easy task to change the serial. Anyway, I guess I will worry about it if and when my current serial got blacklisted.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!
