If you own a Chinese WinCe5 based GPS unit that all of a sudden is unable to find the satellites no matter what software you use ,there might be help ...
By accident I found a thread in a German forum where several ppl had the same problem : their GPS stopped working.
The interesting thing was that the units used different softwares (mostly IGO8 and Tomtom) but all stopped working after almost exactly the same amount of uses(or hours working).
They tried everything ,new software ,backups ,different software versions - nothing!
So some of them noticed the devices where all pretty similar and decided to complain about the problem on Ebay.
After a while the seller admitted that there is a problem with the inbuilt GPS driver in WinCe.
He sent a file (http://rapidshare.com/files/245511930/Godspeed.ini_for_Godspeed20080109_and_later.rar)an d a tutorial that should modify the system.
And guess what ?? It worked!
I don't know if that will work for all devices with that problem and you have to use at your own risk!!! but I thought I let you know.
