Hi

I am running app 7.915 with 830 maps on both my HTC diamond and HP hw6915 without a problem thanks to this wonderful board.

My only issue is with TT Home, when i connect the HTC and run TTH it detects the phone and gets the map share updates perfectly however when i connect the HP it doesn't see it at all even though it is sync'ed through active sync.

Both phone installs are using the 915 cabs from here and both have got the same 830.2306 maps with mapshare enabled but TTH home will still only see the HTC.

Doess anyone have any thoughts on what i can do to get it to see the HP or is it just not possible with a device running WM5.

Cheers.

:)

I don't see HP PDA in compatability list so is likely not supported, hence not detected.

Is your map on card or device?

If card, is it seen by PC as removable media when sync inactive?
If PC can see card as Media, Home should be able to access it.
Otherwise, remove card and load using card reader - but you may need other system files on there ( .bif, etc.. )

Anyone else got thoughts here?

http://www.tomtom.com/products/section.php?ID=595&Section=578&Lid=1&Category=2 - look here - only HTC devices compatible with TT7 - so TTHome recognizes your HP as none-supported device

Tried to find the [thread] "hack" demonfatal posted ...... I applied this hack on a friends LG phone quite awhile ago and it worked.

All you do is add some files to the root, and TT Home will then see the phone/GPS as a TomTom One.

See if ya can't find that thread and give it a go

Thanks for the link.
This the instruction how to make TTHome think SD-card belongs to TTGo device. Using such "fake device" useful when TTHome refuses to recognize phone as legit device.
But theredguy wrote

Means - he has no problem with device recognition. No use for him in using "fake device"

I use this on my Sony Ericsson X1 with Tomtom and it works perfect.

What do you use??? You have "legit" TomTom device - Sony-Ericsson-xperia TTNavigator idetifies as "HTC-KOVSKY" - this device is in the list - so TTHome MUST see your PDA via ActiveSync without probs. The only thing it can't - is "Operate My PDA".

Thanks for the replys guys, I found the link for the fake files somewhere in the big thread in this section but i guess i didn't do something right as TTH still won't see the HP 6915.

To be honest as nice as it would have been having the mapshare updates it's not the end of the world as maps are updated reasonably frequently now and the HP is only a backup for if my Diamond goes down, once i upgrade the Diamond i shall retire the HP anyway.

Once again thanks for the help.

So now clear - of course TTHome won't see your HP 6915 as legit device.
Bearing in mind you have legit Diamond you have several ways to update maps on HP 6915:
1. Use (as you know) fake device on SD-card
2. Use 4-file updates from http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2231057&postcount=1
3. Use 4-file updates from updated maps from your Diamond
