he update the jf cupcakes to improve the Audio Filter sound quality and clarity, increase the maximum volume for G1 to have Loud speaker, in-call speaker and headset .

i try it myself and surprise me, it's much louder.

Instuctions:

Rename to update.zip
put on root of sd
Then ALT-S to flash

you have download for 5 diferent type of phones .and each download support that phone .
i have t mobile us w\jf 1.51CRB43 .and i try this like *** - JF1.51 CRB43 US with V2 [Only registered and activated users can see links]
and i don't have any problem with it ,i feel thats Increase to max volume of the phone w\sound quality and clarity.it's nice and it does't slow your phone .

You can also run lucid script
In terminal type:
1. Su
2. Mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
3. Mkdir /sdcard/tmp
4. Cd /sdcard/temp
5. Wget [Only registered and activated users can see links]
6. Busybox cp -a lucid.txt /system/bin/lucid
7. Chmod 755 /system/bin/lucid
8. Busybox chown 0:0 /system/bin/lucid
9. Lucid
10. Lucid -au -v3

U can use his script for many other things too
U can use v2 instead of v3. V2 = louder v3 = loudest
This can be used on any build from my tests I have used it on htc and google builds.
I would stick with adp if u want to use themes on your phone that mod the whole phone look like status bar, lock screen and icons to name a few.

thats another way ,and it's nice when y understand it ,a lot of people looking for easy way like me , i tried many ways ,but y need many apps like (android sdk) and (usb drive) ...etc . for me the flash way is the easy way .just put it
1-in the sdcard
2- Rename to update.zip
3-turn off the phone
4-hold the power key and home key
Then ALT-S to flash

Your method implies you have root already on your phone right?
Meaning the person has to have a notion of how to run terminal commands.
then Lucid script will work without the hassle of doing another update.
For all those who rather not bother with terminal just get LucidRem apk from the market runs all inside an apk.

edit: once installed if you want to revert you don't need to install another update either just run
Lucid -au -v0
thats it.
lucid -au -v1 (loud)
lucid -au -v2 (louder)
lucid -au -v3 (loudest)
lucid -au -v4 (new EQ)
