Ok. I've managed to download part 1. There are no separate maps. It's just one big fat 1.7 gb ipa file which you sync with iTunes.

Just spent the morning putting iDA (Sygic McGuider) on my iPhone through Cydia. It works well but I think id prefer Navigon..

you have to jailbreak!! so you can install cracked apps. After jailbreaking you have to install AppSync from cydia to be able to add cracked apps. You just double click the app and it goes into itunes and then you just have to sync your iPhone.

But I extracted the IPA with WinRAR, deleted the .map files I don't need in NAVIGON.APP and transferred this folder via openSSH (WinSCP) directly to /Applications. I didn't want 1,65 GB for maps I will never need (iPhone 3G 8 GB ^^). Now it's only 315 MB.

After transfer, set rights to 0755 -->

cd /Applications
chmod 0755 NAVIGON.app

mkdir /var/mobile/Documents
chmod 0777 /var/mobile/Documents

Reboot iPhone.
Done!

I've just taken it for a run, and to be honest, its ****e!

Its very basic, and my gps signal was intermitant to say the least. The only good thing was the voice directions came over my iTrip.

Took it for a ride today (iPhone 3G; Berlin, Germany), doesn't work well for me. Got nearly no GPS signal while driving for 40 minutes! Maps etc. could locate me well, Navigon failed. With WiFi turned off, it got no signal at all.

Maybe because I didn't install it via iTunes? Should make no difference!? Any way to install through iTunes AND remove some maps? For that I have to repack the Navigon.app as Navigon.ipa? but how?

its a very good program working good with nedrland map.

just installed it, works well. Maps are detailed and it is easy to use. I'm still waiting for TomTom.

and you won't loose your waranty as long as you don't go at them with your jailbroken phone. When you have to go with the phone at them just restore it and they will never know.

i used navigon last weekend, it is just wonderful.

i still got no sound after a restore and installation of the last posted source :-(

I'm sad cause this app is wonderfull, I used it and it is cery clear and fluid...never saw this on any phone!

I'll wait for tom tom, installed and tried it. Not a patch on my garmin im affraid.

I have tried and it hed worked. Two minuses though - voice output is very weak - so it can not be used without some kind of adapter (cassette adapter in my case) to hook iphone to a car stereo. Second maps are not so good - in my case and I live in Croatia - street I live in is not even mentioned - and the one next to it is - and they are both built at the same time. Is there an update of maps?

i also used it yesterday to Hamburg Germany and it was really wonderful, about poor gps signal, i noticed about twice that the gps was low but it took about 30 seconds to come back and even with that it still popped up and gave me infos, for me to not drive blindly. Impossible to download those two files from "Rapidshare".
It time is the same probleme, you cannot download the totality of the files.
You have always one ,two or three files corrupted.
I have try to another sites and each time is the same problem.
