View Full Version : Home not recognizing TTN7 on SD card

I'm running ttn7.915.9196 which is installed on my SD card, however, when I plug it in directly to the computer (or mount it as a mass storage device through my phone), Home doesn't respond at all. :( Even if I start Home myself, it doesn't seem to recognize that Navigator is installed.

Am I missing something? As far as I understand it, Home should recognize it as the ttnavigator.bif file is present. And yes, I've cracked it using ttuser's tool, but I don't think that should have any effect on whether or not Home can see the device..

My phone is an HTC Touch Pro. My SD card:

Any help would be appreciated.. :) I tried TTH1 (for Nav6, etc) and it detected it but I'd obviously much rather use TTH2. Any ideas?

download this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/251297735/navigator_fix.rar.html

Just follow these instructions

1.) Unrar and place all files in the Root of your SD-Card
2.) Rename your map to "Iberia"
3.) Connect your PDA via USB not using active sync
(Or place SD card in card reader)
--- Do not use ACTIVE SYNC ---
4.) Run tomtom home from your PC
Now you can do mapshare updates!!!

Just before closing thread....

It's easy!
First - try to find any ORIGINAL TomTomNavigator soft which will allow installing to SD-card. Don't find? Right! I guarantee you won't - all original TTnavigator cabs just locked from installing elsewhere but main PDA's memory...
Second - if TTHome "knows" - there can't be no TTNavigator on SD-card - why should it look for it there? - or course it don't look and can't see...
Third - if you have "legit" TomTom PDA - why don't you connect it via ActiveSync? Then (I guarantee) TTHome will recognize your ttnavigator... But! soft must be installed to MAIN MEMORY of PDA. Elsewhere TTHome won't look for soft. BTW - maps can be placed on SD-card - doesn't matter - but only in root of it.

As rusigor rightly said, TT7 must be installed on internal memory otherwise Home will not find it.

The trick is to install in the card a PNA version.
It enought to copy the ttsystem file and the ttgo.bif file of an activated and regular PNA.
This will not interfere with the TT7 installation and it will not check the map activation while it will do the mapshare updates.
Just remeber to change the directory name of the map to match the one on the ttgo.bif (if different)

You can use already pre-prepared solutions like the one posted by chllycat (there are a few others floating around) or, if you own a PNA, you can copy your own.

Any One or Go model will do it (even the ones that don't have a Sd card slot )

Nope. You're not right at this point. For ex. - latest XL/ONE-IQ-route with SerialNums RU*** / PU*** - TTHome won't see their SD-cards in card-reader! Also there exists a row of devices, which will also be ignored by TTHome. Ex.: JA***, reported by TT http://us.support.tomtom.com/cgi-bin/tomtom_us.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=9521 as GO 630 - 1GB, but TTHome reports "no device connected"... I hadn't enough time for these experiments...

If you have your map in the root of SD-card - just post exact name of mapfolder and build of map - I'll make complete set for you

I know you weren't asking me but I have the same problem. I'm using the USA and Canada 830.2322 map (folder is named this in the root directory of my SD card and the true name of the map files are USA_and_Canada.pna, USA_and_Canada-52.meta, and USA_and_Canada-52.meta.dct.

My 1st problem was not having the prog loaded in main memory and I've resolved this but I still can't get TTHome to see my SD card :(. Thanks in advance if you're willing to generate the files for me!

Thank you for your help. In general Home does detect TomTom on my device, but Map Share does not work.

I have now installed TomTom in the main memory instead of the SD card and will try what happens later today. Of course the maps are still there, and the map folders are in the root directory of the card.

What exactly do you mean by "bild of map"?

What exactly do you mean by "bild of map"?
Exactly:
I'm using the USA and Canada 830.2322 map
Here - 830.2322 - is a build.

Osteo
As I still don't know how did you name the mapfolder - I named it USA_and_Canada_830.2322

If it sounds different from exact name of folder - please rename YOUR MAPFOLDER according to this name.

Use this archive Fake device (http://rapidshare.com/files/261898606/Osteo.rar) - you'll find readme inside.

Enjoy!

Aaaaah - the build! There was a typo in your post: bild.

I am German, and "Bild" is the German word for "image" or "picture". So I was wondering what type of mag image you might possibly mean ...

Rusigor, Thanks much for the files. I'll d/l now and install later and check them out. Currently the folder is named "USA and Canada 830.2322" but I'll add the underscores as you instruct and thanks again!

Update: D/L the files, renamed the directory with the underscores and installed and it works great! Now I'm able to d/l the map share updates. Thanks. again, Rusigor!
