Trying to put favorites from a previous map into a new map and my TTOne v3 just keeps on rebooting.

Any ideias how I can resolve this?

TIA

Which "old" map version? which "new" map version? & which Navcore?

Generally you can copy your mapsettings.cfg file from one map to another.

I would say there is to much difference between the two mapsetting.cfg files.

I would suggest keeping a copy of the old file and then deleting the one on the device.

When you start the device a new file blank file will be created....this will get the device up and running.

Now download a freeware program named POIedit....then use this program to create a POI file of your old favorites.

here is a link to a "how-to" located on another site....it also includes a download link to the POIedit program.

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

You can also use POIedit to view the latitude-longitude of your exsisting favorties and then re-enter them into your device as favorites.

PSJFLA, thank you for responding and giving me some ideias to try which I did but without success.

I downloaded POIedit and was able to see the favorites and coordinates.
Made a new POI file of the old favorites then put it in map folder but it is not seen by map.

Tried to re-enter favorites as you suggested by adding longitude-latitude but at longitude-latitude menu it freezes and reboots.

Again thank you for the help.

Did you remove the MapSettings.cfg file from the map folder and then start the device ?

If so the device should run correctly....if not use the reset button located on the bottom of the device.

The device needs to run correctly before you install the _Favorite.ov2 file.

When using POIedit did you save the created file as a .ov2 ?

Did you name the file _Favorite ?

So the file you paste into the map folder should be named

_Favorite.ov2

To use the new _Favorite.ov2 file.

Navigate to....Point of Interest....POI near you....Favorite ( red square )

I've seen this method work as well.

Hook your device to your PC.

Put the old mapsetting.cfg file back into your map folder.

Now open HOME.

Now use the function " Operate My Go "

Using the menu....go to....Add Favorite....now add any POI or address ( anything really as you can delete it later )

Now safely remove device from PC.

See if device will start and run correctly.

PSJFLA, I replied to your post #6 but it did not post.
Basicly, I now can see the _favorite.ov2 in the menu and see 35 POI's.
Can I save the POI's one by one as Favorites?

TIA for the help

Yes you can....but I would try post 7 first.

If post 7 does not correct your old favorite file....then you can add each POI from the _favorite file to the favorite file like this.

menu to

add favorite

Point of Interest

POI near you

Favorite ( red square )

pick one

select

now follow the on-screen instructions.

repeat as needed
