UPDATE - Nav N Go iGO 8 v8.3.2.97313 (Jul 3 2009)

- Jul '09 official PDA R3 retail update, patched to work both on generic PDA & PNA as well. This update seems to fix the infamous signpost crash noticed especially in the latest Hungarian TopMap map.

Download Instructions:

- complete navigation software with PDA autorun excluding CONTENT (to be copied to the root of your SD Card):
- for PNA - WinCE simply rename "application.dat" to "igo8.exe".
- add this line in sys.txt
[project]
name="igo8_pda"
- copy from your previous data.zip the 480x272 folder in the new data.zip

NOTE: Please remove any other licenses present in your license folder as this release won't recognize them!

I can't make it work on PNA 480x272. Tried all kind of data.zip

Add this line in sys.txt
[project]
name="igo8_pda"

and copy from your previous data.zip the 480x272 folder in the new data.zip and...voila :)

Guys,

I try al type igo 8 inclusief this one. He is ok but like all type igo8 when start loking for GPS AND FIND SATELLITE THE PROGRAM FREEZING.

I have Pocket pc IPAQ version 4.20.1081(build 13100) 1996-2003.

help please

This is my first installation so I don't have it, I downloaded the language and voice from this site [Only registered and activated users can see links] copy it to content/lang and content/voice, but still got error : "Initialization errors: no language files were found"

Languages (Download the file and extract to the iGo8-->content-->lang folder. Restart your GPS and all of the languages should appear.)

gives me "FFUI error" : Unknown layer referenced, Identifier = [ui_UpdateScreenXHTML] and crashes...this is when loading main screen.

I have generic GPS-device with WINCE. Copied the old 480x272 folder to datazip... maybe its not new enough or do you have other ideas how to make this work?

My old version is Nov 13 2008, 8.3.2.64873

I had a continiously 'clicking' sound after installing this version v8.3.2.97313.
With v8.3.2.93112 I had the same problem.
If you have the same problem just modify the system.ini in the save folder.
The line below gives a continiously 'clicking' sound:
[power]
powermgm_state="0"
Changing in to "2" worked for me.
You can of course also change it in iGO8 under Power management.

maybe it is stupid questions but must ask somone there.
I am using this software on my HP Ipaq 2200 but the problem is
it take long time to calculate routes although i changed it to short calculating setting

I cannot get work either on my PNA, when i rename application.dat to igo8.exe, it is still a dat application type therefore it is not seen by my PNA as an application and will not load it.Any fix for that?

You need to unchek (disable) "Hide extensions for known file types" on Vistas -folder options. After this you can change filetypes like .dat --> .exe by just renaming.

Edit: not fast enough...

Tried that sys.txt -change also. Never got this version to work so i used June 8. 2009 version which works like a charm.

That's the right line for a HP iPAQ h2200.

Maybe it's because you have Microsoft Windows for Pocket PC 2003 instead of WM5 or WM6????
On the website of iGO8 you will not find a h2200.
Or do you have a h2210 and mean that you have the h2000 Series??
The HP iPAQ h2210 is supported according to Nav 'N Go.

but my device is an HP Ipaq H2200 series and Microsoft Windows for Pocket PC 2003 the older version of igo8 is working very nice no problem there but with this vertion there are calculating problem on it and i have other device Nokia type pd-12 with windows ce core 5.0 and have the same problem with calculating of routes.

Have a very annoying bug with this version... on my KAISER/TYTNII

When igo8 running, USB power doesn't work, ie, in my car, with a lighter accessorie with usb cable, the phone don't charge, if i shut down igo8, it charge again

going back to older version, and waiting for newer release :hardcry:

Guys, exactly how do I install this on HTC Touch Diamond?

Download and copy all to your SD-Card in the folder iGO8.
Start through File Explorer with iGO8.exe.
If iGO8.exe doesn't excist rename application.dat to iGO8.exe
If there is a folder 2577 copy it to the root of your SD and the installation will start automaticly when you insert SD-Card into your TD.

See what is does or doesn't do and than ask for further help.

Hi, first of all, excuse my poor english (I' m french Canadian)

My device is a chinesse GPS (5", Bluetooth, FM, 372 mhz CPU, QVGA 320*240)and windows CE 5.0 (lock version of CE) and the older version of igo8 is working very nice with no problem. Now, with this version, my unit (GPS) always restart after igo write "MAINSCREEN LOAD" in the right-down corner durint the loading sequence.

Good morning for you all!

Thanks for this excellent release!

I'm from Brazil...downloaded and installed it on my Chinese "generic" 4.3" Windows CE 5.0 based device and it works great, except for the TTS that doesn't work att all.

I added the following lines on sys.txt:

[tts]
always_say_road_names=1
announce_street_name=1

Besides all the files & folders that I might have inside de iGO8 folder in order to make it work:

folder: tts_loq

files:
LOQMSX.DLL
LoqPortuguese6.3.dll
LoqPortuguese6.5.dll
LoqTTS6.dll
LoqTLoqTTS6.dll

And inside iGO8->content->voice->Voice_TTS-loq-por-bra-f1.zip

Am I missing something or this version just doesn't support TTS?

Any help will be most appreciated!

Sorry to bother you all, I'm entirely new in installing sat nav in WM device. Using a diamond 2, and I have followed the steps as mentioned however I'm getting error message saying " Couldn't find database, please insert original SD card ". I wonder if anyone of you could help ! Much appreciated in advance

Also my issue, on HTC Diamond. "Program application database cannot be found. Please insert original application SD card.", although I've changed the path in sys.txt to app="%Internal Storage%/iGO8" instead of SDCARD. Can anyone help? I think I had this problem before, but can't remember how I fixed it.. :D (soft reset didn't help either)

Got it! :)
Changed the path in both sys.txts (the one in program files on phone memory and the one in igo8 dir from internal storage) to "Internal Storage/iGO8" and it worked.

Thanks ever so much, darkOne, for suggesting changing the path. I would try it later and let you know how I get on ! But I'm a little dubious.......as I would be copying the files to my SD card instead of internal storage, you see.......using diamond2, it does have external storage

Oh. Then the default 'SDCard' is ok for you I guess. Mine is Touch Diamond, as I said. However, you can check if the path is correct. Sorry, dunno another way to make it work, if this isn't your issue

GOT IT! you have to modify in sys the device type to "HTC Diamond 2 T5353"

Does anybody know where I can get a map of Namibia? It's in the 'Africa' package - but I don't know in how much detail! :S
