I'v downloaded the needed map (EE) into the device flash (including the lic file).
Yet, the device doesn't show this map when I ry to select it. :confused:

The device is installed with it's original SW configuration, as received from the shop.

Any idea/solution/suggestion is very welcome. :thanks:

Yes ! go to Mio.com homepage ,register your product and than make a maps update and everythings is fine
and create a folder named Maps and put all maps and lic files inside,than edit miomap.ini like this (this in an example)

MultiMapDir=\Storage card\MioMap\Maps

I have mio moov 560 on which satguide maps are loaded in flash memory. I want to copy these maps to the sd card and run from the sd card rather than the flash memory. This would help me to load some other maps in the programs directory and run those from the sd card. But I am not being able to run the maps from the sd card. What changes do I need to make so that the I am able to run oneindia from SD card. :hardcry:

I use MioSpirit, i guess is the same, look at MioMap.ini file or something like this, open with notepad and edit the right path to maps, like this:

MapDir=\sdmmc\spirit\Maps
MultimapDir=Maps

If your memory card name it SD Card, replace sdmmc with it, or what name of your card is.

:thanks:for the reply. My flash memory has a folder mio\Program Files\ There are various folders in it and one of the folders by the name of System is there. There is one ini file by the name of ProcessMgr.ini. Should I change the path in this file. The file is attached below

I really don't know, i didn't use it and i don't have this file in my Spirit folder, but you can try, sure, always make a backup of the files, if something goes wrong, restore backup.

you need an unlock to use with different software
try miopocket 3 or miopocket lite

or try this

Connect the Moov 500 device to PC and reset it.
it will show a drive named Moov (Miodevice or something like that.
copy all (to be safe) files and folders to a backup storage (you may need it if something goes wrong)

delete some sub folders containing maps in the Program\Files\Miomap folder (db etc) and make some storage space for your new navigation software and maps (it has around 2GB Internal storage)

rename the folder MioMap to mioMap_orginal (or whatever you may like)

create a sub folder named MioMap in the Program Files folder (same location where original miomap folder was there)

copy your favorite (I think most nav software works) navigation software and maps to that folder (all nav software root files should be copied here. ie. no sub folder like iGo8 or Cardinale etc. here)

rename the navigation software file name to MioMap.exe (eg. if it is iGo8.exe, rename it to MioMap.exe)

Close the drive (Moov) using windows safe removal option
disconnect the device from PC

reset the Mio moov 500
You will see the original menu

tap the navigation and your new navigator is ready to go

I have tested it and using it successfully with Mireo black Edition v3.1

It seems that I have found the answer to run another navigation software with my mio moov. I would give it a try today. But I would also like to keep the existing map and load another map/software from the sd card. I tried to use sd unlock but my pc would not allow connection via activeSynch.:thanks: for your reply.

I used miopocket lite to unlock my mio moov 560. All went well till the screen showed "MioPocket Lite will now complete installation and reboot your device. Please wait..." I waited for a considerable long time but it did not reboot. I tapped the confirmation tick mark and I could view the skin on which all the incons were present and I could access my existing map on my flash drive by clicking on two of the icons, the navigator and the miomap. Some of the programs did not work. But as soon as I switched off my mio and restarted it, the installation process started again. Where did I go wrong? Why does the installation start again everytime I switch on my device?:oops2:

You acted correctly,that the application not to launch the install, you should not put in the position reset button, reset function delete what was written in "Windows Registry" and require a new installation.

Soon the forum will have a new unlock,which requires no installation,no errors,no bugs
