Review: An upgrade to Guilty Gear XX, #Reload was intended to further balance high-level play. A handful of moves were altered, from slight tweaks in speed and damage to almost complete re-workings in some cases. False Roman Cancel points were also added, and Robo-Ky was given his own unique moves this time around and was now selectable from the start. EX versions of several characters were also available, adding even more diversity to the game for the hardcore players. The brilliant story mode from GGXX makes it's return, as well as Mission, Survival, and a Medal of Millionaire mode where you battle it out for "medals." Overall, a solid "enhancement" to GGXX though it didn't look or feel very much like a sequel to the non-hardcore Guilty Gear players.

Closing Comment: Definitely a better and more balanced game than it's predecessor, but the game really hasn't changed much at the end of the day... Which isn't exactly bad news, especially to those that loved the first 3 installments. However, non-hardcore players (like me) might have expected a bit more for buying what is essentially the same game yet again. Easily the best thing about this version is the debut of the "new" Robo-Ky, whom is downright badass... He's no Ky Kiske clone anymore, that's for sure. ~F.Yagami, Webmaster of TFG
