View Full Version : Home problem - registering device

I've installed Navigator 7 on my new HTC Touch Pro 2, and all works well.

But, when I log in to TomTom Home with my device connected it tells me I need to link my device to my account, as it's not the same as my previous device, obviously.

However, I then get an error saying I have an invalid version of TomTom installed on my device...

I can still get mapshare to work, but I really would like to link with my TomTom account.

Is there a way around this? I've searched for ages looking for info.

Thanks.

Still not been able to work-out a solution...

Have installed the new version of Tom Tom from a HTC Touch Pro 2, but still no joy.

I must be doing something stupid...

FIXED!!!

:egdance:

Found that you can edit the 'DeviceName' in the ttnavigator.bif file to one on TomTom's accepted list (I used KAISER) and then link to TomTom Home.

This sets your serial number as the new device, and even though the .bif file is regenerated when you start TomTom, so the device name goes back to RHODIUM, the registered serial number is the same, so all works!
