Hi people I have a little question bothering me. Hope you'll help me!

I'm trying to access the internet from my laptop (OS: Win Vista, bluetooth: yes) with the help of a bluetooth dongle connected to my Desktop PC (OS: Win XP). Desktop PC is conected to a router.

I have bluesoleil on my desktop PC (not in the laptop), the two devices recognizes each other without any problem, but I'm unable to access the internet from my laptop. What can I do to get it functioning? I've created a PAN network too.

Talking about firewalls and security, my desktop has ESET NOD32 and laptop has nothing yet.

Thanks in advance.

P.S am I supposed to have bluesoleil on both ends?

Hi there,

I assume both your laptop and desktop computers recognizes each other. If not, my solution would not be effective in your case.

Simply put, Bridging the 2 network connections (LAN and PAN) together would solve the issue.

As you can see in the screenshot, you should see a Personal Area Network connection (in addition to your regular network interface) after enabling bluetooth of the computer
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Select the LAN and PAN connections, right click, select "add to bridge". THAT'S ALL! see if you could browse the net from the laptop.

If you're yet unable, configure the network bridge (Properties of the bridge --> Internet Protocol Properties --> set IP addresses and DNS addresses). You'll be able to solve the issue then. :)

Let me know if it still doesn't work or you don't understand any steps. I had this question asked on several other forums. I can provide you the links to them if your problem still exists. Cheers.
