A similar thing happened with me, it will attempt to uninstall the previous version first, soft reset and then you will need to install it again at that time it installs it and via About, it will show the upgraded version.
Using the registration is straight forward as well via manual but it definitely works as others have posted.

On my Omnia works fine, but eat more ram memory of previous version.

There are different coloured themes for V1.4.5 but not for v2.0, well not according to the official site anyway, its just the default classical theme

i dont know if only happens to me, but in the PhonEx´s Today plugin when pressing and holding any button of this plugin no submenus appears. Look at the manual to know how it should works.:oom:

Try to uninstall first version 1.4.5, soft reset and then install version 2 in the same memory where you installed the first one (storage card or internal memory) and then again soft-reset. Hope it works!!.

Youre either not uninstalling 1.4.5 or not installing v2.0 correctly. Generally you can just install v2.0 as it detects the old version and installs over it but as you are having trouble id suggest uninstall prior version first, soft reset, ensure its gone by searching in programme menu. Once this is done then install v2.0, it shouldnt give you any issues as its a straight forward install, hopefully this works for you.

After using this for the last few days the infamous "Trial" watermark appeared on my phone which i know has been a major issue for many with previous versions so just a warning to others it may happen to them as well.
I have done the registry trick so waiting to see if the watermark comes back.

What i have done is completely remove Phonex (use a decent program like Memmaid etc) not the standard in built uninstaller which always leaves things behind. This will most likely involve a soft reset as it requests this. When the phone reboots, verify the programme is gone.
Now you'll need a registery programme, i use Resco registry editor but MemMaid and others can do this as well. You need to go to the following location:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{848F3933-7685-4798-AB8E-88B313651093}
Delete the "reg" folder completely. Once you are sure the reg folder and programme is gone, then soft reset, reinstall Phonex, use the manual registration to register as per normal and in theory it should not reappear.
Do this prior to connecting to the internet.
Touchwood this has worked for me so far :D

I have the same problem even with the original one ,. im using Blackstone PDAVIET ROm 6.5

After uninstall of old version also ensure HKCU/Software/Iconsoft is also erased before installation of new version. EDIT: I would presume that if you had another iconsoft product installed you would have to only delete HKCU/Software/Iconsoft/PhonEx as it would stop the other app working.

When you say clean install are you sure you erased all traces of this program prior to the new install including the reg folder? In addition are you sure you installed the new version prior to connecting to the internet, this has made a difference for some with prior versions.

I give up. No more patience! I am stuck with ver. 1.4.5. I did everything that guys said above. Still ver 1.4.5:hardcry:

It consumes more and many more MB after each soft reset (reboot). It's a serious bug which must be corrected. if not, you should have unlimited storage to work with this soft.
New build 2.0.1 still not resolved this bug!

Thanks Rexboy99, but i think i'm gonna stay with the old version. Like someone earlier said, it consumes a lot of memory and there are no themes for a better contrast. I'm gonna wait for this version to evolve. Thanks again !:good2:

Dont use the Today plugin but i did try mine, its just a matter of selecting each button to take you directly to Phonex. The connectivity button provides a sub menu that appears above as per this video review

this soft need a function to be perfect : a miss call/sms reminder like inesoft phone 5.x ( with a sound, not only written in the today's screen)

Yes i am sure.The phone is new and nothing was installed prior. Also the phone is not connected to the internet via GPRS or GPS

i am facing watermark problem.

I am facing watermark problems as well. Watermark appears from time to time (4-5 days and no matter "about" says its registered) and after soft reset it disappears.

I have the same problem... with watermark... after softreset... it disappears

How do you find its scrolling speed. I was using 5.x inesoft and it does have great features but its contact scrolling was slow for me as well as dialing, it would take seconds for a number to register whereas Resco contact and phonex would be much faster.

when you are in the caller, you can click option and a button appear with WM caller, ( native windows mobile caller) that support video call

Totaly disagree with this, for trying the two soft during 2 month, iconsoft is far better ! less memory, faster, can use the default caller for video call, home plugins far better and smallest, easier for choosing a contact number ( home,mobile,work etc..)...

as you say you have used inesoft for 2 months, so you haven't tried the latest inesoft version.
agreed, it needs some optimisation with scrolling/delay,
but the features it provides are amazingly good.
it allows you more freedom of skinning, the profiler is extremely good.
sms integration is better. the reminder feature is exceptional.
contact's pic editing as well as the contact editing is far superior (you never get to see old windows mobile editor interface even though you actually fill the same fields-ie. the outlook synchronisation is smply superb)
you can even adjust the screen brightness.
very easy to switch from one skin to another.
i can even use my original b'ful dialpad(that i modified from web) anytime with inesoft
the moment you use it, you immediately come to know the limitations of iconsoft.
all i think iconsoft has at present is a slightly better scrolling (maybe inesoft will fix it very soon).

I agree with you on this one. without doubt inesoft has more features but at the end of the day its a dialler so the critical must have features over anything has to be speed. Scrolling is slow with inesoft i thought it was my phone until my mates phone experienced the same thing. I found Iconsoft and Resco on par.
Even when dialling a new number inesoft is just too slow and always a number behind. If you enter numbers quickly, you end up tapping it twice as you thought it didnt register the first time.
Each to their own but for me as a dialler, get the basics right before the fancier stuff.
