just wanned to share this with you all
Sharing internet connection via (wifi)ad-hoc connection on windows vista is bit of a issue in some cases, specially in situations when ICS(internet connection sharing) enabled some computers give an error message
This can be easily fixed by following the steps bellow
For those who are new to making a ad-hoc access point I have included the needed steps as well
On the pc/laptop side
Turn on the WLAN swicth
Goto
Start>control Panel>Network and sharing center
Now on the left side of the “network and sharing center” window there will be a option called “manage wireless networks” select it
In the new window select “add” button and choose “Ad-hoc” connection
In the next window you’d be asked to enter setting and a name your ad-hoc connection
Choose a desired name for network name
Select “WEP” for security type
For the security key enter a 10digit number ex- “1234567890”
Check the box save this network too
now go back to the “network sharing center”
and select “manage network connections “ now click and drag so that a box would cover both WLAN and LAN connections now right click and select create “network bridge” option
select “connect to a network” in “network sharing center” and activate the ad-hoc connection you just created
On the phone
Goto
Tools>WLAN wiz>
The access point will now show now your phone, now highlight it and select edit access point
Select security to WEP
Enter the WEP encryption - 64 bits
WEP key format- Hexadecimal
WEP key – 1234567890

You all done…enjoy!!!!!
Please read this……
BTW…. If you have problems connecting or using internet, disable both WLAN and LAN and then delete the network bridge and re-enable the WLAN and LAN…happens when you connect to a new LAN …you could always make a bridge…nothing to worry about
