Hi there!
I and some of my friends decided to port this great OS to Samsung's only one Symbian phone.
Why?
Because we want to fully control the phone, and to have a better and safer OS on our phones.
But we're stuck.
We would need a full copy of a base G1's file system AND the file system of a G1 with the latest CyanogenMod ROM too.
Please could someone help?

I'm also very interested in this, I was thinking the same thing: Android on a Omnia HD would be nice, but is it really possible with the hardware (Chipset, processor etc)?

Yeah, we watched for this, everything meets the requirements, and Android is also developed for ARM Cortex, so I hope that there will be no problem. I know that there is a mod for the original Omnia (i900) what makes it possible to run Android on it, but its WinMO, for god's sake!

It's great if somone could put android on omnia HD now with android 2.0 it sould be easyer to.

shouldn't you be trying a base copy from google ? g1's rom mostly contains drivers for qualcomms' h/w, but samsung uses a different h/w platform....try base roms from any other arm cortex based android phones....basically what i mean is to try for a phone that is as similar as possible to the i8910
also, did u manage to get access to the ipl / spl of i8910 ?

It isn't about OS's. We only have to find a way to flash the whole system to the phone.

HyperX said this on the samsungi8910omnia.com forum:
Before we can talk about missing drivers, we have to give it a try flashing Android on our phone.
And that is exactly our problem, in our case there is no flashing-device out with which we can flash the OMAP part (bootloader)
Many of you knows about "Omnia repair tool" but this issnīt compatible to flash the omap part in order to flash other OSīes on our phone, i know that the developer is working for an solution, he also promised soon more information about that..... but (as i said) nothing at all yet.
Of course we can try to port/flash the booloader part with the symbian-rom-flashing-tool.
But what if we canīt flash it back? Or somthing goes wrong? .... Then you have a shiny black brick in your hand.
In conclusion we can say, itīs not (yet) possible to go ahead to other OSīes except Symbian^3 that is (probably) compatible with our device.
And here i have found the information about our i8910:
