Hi all,

I was cleaning my P5Q mb.. accidentally i pushed the northbridge heatsink and the heatsink came off (please see pictures). I'm not sure what to do with it, can i just use thermal cement/paste to reattach it back?

Please help me!

Thank you!

yes
use a damp cloth [ water] to clean both surfaces
all traces of paste must be gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do not use tools , or you might scratch the surface

if spring-screws are damaged you need new ones

use new paste and use it sparingly
if it squeezes out it may leak on surrounding parts , you dont want that

however ;
you cannot tell if northbridge itself , or motherboard are damaged
simply try & find out
