anybody knows the sollution for 6230 bluetooth problem? it's always off even if you try to on it.

I've had a problem to transfer files from the PC. MP3 songs with more than 3 mb. The blutooth crash. Anyone knows how to solve it?

It seems as though the BT functionality of the 6230 is ripe with errors, and it appears as if there are both software and hardware issues at hand. Below I repost a blurb from a thread in the Howard Forums. When I tried to transfer a 20Mb .zip file using OBEX, the process timed out after about 25% . But I have been able to transfer individual MP3 files ~3MB to and from without a hitch.
I guess we will just have to wait for better BT implementation software in future Firmware updates from NOKIA. But that's a new can of worms.

That is the story: many, but not all 6230 made from summer 2004 had defect in Bluetooth functionality. Diagnostic is simple.

NB: before using "OBEX" you need to give any name for memory card in the phone menu otherwise OBEX will not be able to see that card in the phone

Call to Nokia, post that method into forum, tell your friens who have 6230, and use that trick: play MP3 files or set .3gp videofile onto pause while transferring files over Bluetooth.

I have another problem with bluetooth on my sw 4.44 6230.
Switching between two sim cards, often bt won't switch on. Simply setting bt to "yes" has no effect. Only way is switch the phone off and on again.
Maybe fw 5.24 fixed this?

...and my jabra ear set drop off unexpectedly when the phone is right next to it!!

the bluetooth issue is software or hardware related?

i have 4.43 version and i have the problem...

but this fools of the nokia centre here in paraguay latin america only had that version... they dont have the newer 5.24 or 5.26 and they dont even know when they will have it...

so.. my question is.. does the 5.24 solve the bluetooth issue?

the problem is that in 6230 when i turnes on bluetooth it give me that messege(bluetooth off)
i tried to flash the phone with ver 5.24 as i heared that this ver may solve this problem
i eares the whole flash (before it was ver.4.44) and write ver.5.24 mcu & ppm & cnt
after that i write pmm and make full ui seting but nothing happened
the phone is still the same
when i turened on bluetooth it give me bluetooth off
by the way this prob. was not on one phone but with not less than 30 phones
so i want to know if this prob. is hardware or soft warew cause i heared that this prob is in bluetooth ic

call for helps on bt. i just downgraded to 5.24. it was done successfully. but one error is that my Bluetooth is dead. I could not turn it on at all. when i pressed it On, it was just nothing. So who can help? Pls advise me. thanks before hand,

I've heard that 5.24 fixes a lot of the issues with bluetooth.

I think it depends on the phone some times. Try flashing the same ver and the flasher fixes the crc, I think. Just try, I have a 6230 4.28 ver and never gave problems, a friend of mine have the same phone same ver and a lots of problems. After flashing all problems gone.

man u have to reflashing ur phone with upgrading ur phone to the last version it will solve it
if it doesn't it could be the bt problem
may be the ic for that bt
u have to reblace it if u can
or u can transfair the files from ur phone to thew mmc before u start new one
because the storage of the phone just 3mb no more
transsfair the files to the mmc before u start new one to ur phone

Well that's answers that question.
I'm running 4.44 and my BT connections suck.
BTW... bt does not have to be on all the time unless you have a bt headphone.
It reduces talk and standby time considerably.

about BT dead... fullerase,firmware upgrade, and write pm did not work for me (used griffin).
Not even using Phoenix Black Box for firmware upgrade... Maybe the BT is hard damaged...

I've got one CK3100 (v: 4.10b) and Nokia 6230 (v: 4.44). It works fine with all functions but there are little bugs in Nokia's firmware. When I make a call via Bluetooth the Nokia's phone don't send my number (I've got my phone configured for sending my number). Other problem appears when there are two calls at the same time; it is not possible to change between them. Usually I've got to turn off all devices and restart them to be able the voice recognition stored in Phone memory. In Spain the 5.24 and 5.26 versions of Nokia's firm has been changed to 4.44 due problems reported. Can anybody tell me something about 5.35 firmware versus Parrot's CK3100?

I think I found a way to send big files to the 6230 without having it to crash:
As soon as you are starting to send a big file, open an audio file, doesn't matter what format.

Keep it playing until the transfer is complete.

Sadly, this doesn't work when receiving files from another phone, only from a pc

buy a card reader !!!! faster and easier than bluetooth

I have the same problem with bluetooth connection and infrared connection. I get connection error message all the time. I think the better solution is to buy a card reader ...

Have you guys checked the Internal memory too? My 6230 has 8.8mb memory and when I checked I see only 2.2mb free. So when I face the prob auto reboot while sending a file, I tried transfer everything from phone to MMC. When ever thing done I check the phone free memory is still 2.2mb but the overall memory dropped from 8.8mb to 6.4mb. Isnt that weird?

does the 5.50 version solve these BT problem?
